I just had to try Covington Teriyaki's Bento box. Because I really didn't know what I wanted to eat, and the Bento box provided a bit of everything. I am glad that I ordered this, and boy that was actually a lot of food! I ordered take out for lunch and wow they were really fast with getting this done. It only took them about 10 minutes to have my food ready for pick up! I was not disappointed with them at all! I really appreciate quickly they got this done and so nice when picking it up, too. Located in a small strip mall plaza near City Hall, this place is really good for many different teriyaki dishes. I ended up getting the spicy chicken. The portions were massive and were realistically good enough for two meals. The chicken was very well cooked and had a perfect balance of sweet teriyaki and some spicy to go along with it. The side salad was nice and refreshing and complimented the savoriness of the meal very well. For the price point, you get a very good value for your lunch meal. The Bento box is a must when you eat here. It comes with tempura food, California rolls, salad, teriyaki and rice, and gyoza. All of the food was pretty good, except the California roll. The crabmeat was pretty dry and I couldn't finish it. I loved the teriyaki chicken, as the sauce was pretty flavorful and sweet. The dressing for the salad was pretty good as well. Service was great. Service was both fast and friendly, but this is just another example of a teriyaki place that doesn't want to stand out. I will say for the price the portion was good, but in general teriyaki place all serve the same food like it all comes from the same food service supplier. We wanted to try Covington Teriyaki because we would be in the vicinity. I called ahead for a takeout order; but I didn't speak clearly for the woman who answered, so she hung up on me. I called back and got our order in. I ordered Teriyaki Chicken. When we picked it up the parking was pretty limited. But our order was ready and complete. Price was competitive and the portions were reasonable. The quality was somewhat pedestrian but not bad. I was delivering masks in Covington and was hunnngggrrrryyy after my colleague was talking about teriyaki for a good 20 minutes. Damn, I needed to find a spot quick! Covington Teriyaki to the rescue. Located by city hall in a business strip, I visited on a Wednesday around lunch and there were a few people inside, waiting for their orders. They are not allowing dine-in at this time, but they do allow people to wait for their takeout. Staff was friendly. Plenty of parking right outside the shop, even during lunch hour. I ordered the classic teriyaki entree and made it a large for a dollar more, which I recommend doing if you want two meals! The entree was huge, so the dollar upgrade was worth it. I ended up eating it for lunch and dinner the day I visited. Teriyaki was solid, and loved the bits that were slightly charred from the grill. It was served on a bed of steamed rice and came with a side salad. Side salad was what you'd expect from a teriyaki place, with iceberg lettuce and that sweet dressing that's only to be found at teriyaki spots. The teriyaki sauce on the chicken was a bit much, so would recommend getting it on the side, as I thought the chicken itself was good enough. There's something special about teriyaki around the Seattle area. It's what the area's known for, yet seems to still be a hidden gem around town, if that makes any sense. I'm always happy to get my hands on some solid teriyaki chicken, and now know where to get some when around Covington again. read more

The food is extremely consistent, they somehow never forget your name even if you have not been in several months. They up charge for fried rice which is fine but the fried rice doesn't have egg, or any seasoning it's literally white rice with butter and vegetables. 2 different sizing... to much rice. Nice to know I'm getting food for my money but the rice to chicken to sauce ratio is really off. I end up buying 3 dollars extra worth of sauce instead of probably trying to find some bottle of sauce similar for 3 dollars. Rice is covering the entire bottom of the tray. In my opinion it's a very unhealthy portion of rice and I love rice. The rice quality it's self isn't the best. I wish they spent more money of what kind of rice they used and portioned it out better than probably using a cheaper quality to give more. Chicken teriyaki was okay.
