2 different sizing... to much rice. Nice to know I'm getting food for my money but the rice to chicken to sauce ratio is really off. I end up buying 3 dollars extra worth of sauce instead of probably trying to find some bottle of sauce similar for 3 dollars. Rice is covering the entire bottom of the tray. In my opinion it's a very unhealthy portion of rice and I love rice. The rice quality it's self isn't the best. I wish they spent more money of what kind of rice they used and portioned it out better than probably using a cheaper quality to give more. Chicken teriyaki was okay. Usually I have no issue here but today I spent an hour waiting for food then for the front register lady to come back up to me to ask what I got again like what??? Normally wouldn't have gone here but wanted to get to a place where I could eat fast. Initially upon looking at menu I thought I was going to have to eat meat but there were like 2 vegetarian options. But this place is worthy of your attention and your appetite. My husband and I may be the pickiest teriyaki eaters. We live in Kent and we're still driving to Redmond for our teriyaki fix. The woman at there counter is super friendly and seems to take a lot of pride in the restaurant. We both ordered the chicken breast teriyaki. I really thought it was perfect. I hate biting into chicken and feeling "layers" as my husband and I refer to it as. I also hate feeling like it may be under cooked. This chicken was nether of those! My husband really liked it too, but to him it was just a tad bit dry. Their sauce is perfect. Not to thick and not too thin. Providing the perfect amount of flavor. I gave it 4 stars taking one star off for my husband thinking his was a little dry. The portions could be bigger. Found this place thanks to fellow Yelpers! Been coming here every other day for the past two weeks since I've been too lazy to cook and experiencing life obligations. Although it may be a bit on the pricier side, the portion sizes are generous and the food is good! They are currently take-out only and I've found order wait times can range from 10 minutes to about 35 minutes or more... make sure to call-in ahead of time. I haven't tried everything on the menu yet, but I've found the bento box to be a decent value for the variety and being able to fill you up. The tempura has a good crunch (not soggy even after the drive home), chicken teriyaki is tender, juicy, and flavorful, but the sushi roll isn't the greatest... Their fish and chips are okay, worth trying if you like the crunchy outside, but the fish itself is not much to write home about; it does fill you up though. Food quality: 5 stars. I am super picky when it comes to the quality of chicken used for traditional chicken teriyaki and chicken breast teriyaki. I am turned off by the decreasing chicken quality found in most restaurants these days. I hate woody chicken breast ( Google this term if you have no idea what I am talking about). I will absolutely throw out an entire meal if I find my chicken is crunchy, yuck. But never fear- Covington Teriyaki does not [yet] have this! Plus, the way they season the chicken is divine. Very good for lunch. Spicy chicken & gyoza was very good (not amazing, not excellent, but very good). It ran a little dry for my taste, seems like more rice than I'd see at other places, but less sauce. I think the chicken quality is higher than the other 2 teriyaki joints in the area, so next time I'll probably just order some extra sauce and it'll be perfecto. Definitely will return! This is my favorite Teriyaki place in Covington. The sauce isn't really sweet like some places and it's cooked perfectly.

Came here for lunch with a buddy! Ordered the chicken teriyaki and gyoza combination dish. Chicken was tender and juicy and the gyozas were crisp! I was hoping for more than just two gyozas, but the meal as a whole was still pretty sizable. The dish also came with a side of white rice and a small salad with light dressing. They were a little light on the dressing, so be sure to ask for more if you're like me and you like your salads doused in dressing! Overall, food was great. Portion sizes were good. Prices were fair. I've been going to this place since the grand opening. It is always the best Teriyaki in Covington area. The last 3 visits had been not so good experience unfortunately. Dine in one time and I got a piece of hair on the food. I didn't complain and just show the woman who works there. She said sorry and didn't even offer a new one. The last two times are both to to. The Teriyaki chicken has very little sauce. The yakisoba is very small portion. Seems like it is time for me to try some other places. read more
