Considering there isn't really much to eat at the Fairwood Shopping plaza, I'm glad I can always rely on the teriyaki at Miako's for some decent food! Attached to Safeway/Little Caesars, there's always ample parking and seating, however I typically come here for grabbing takeout. One thing to know about Miako's is that they go HARD on the quantity. I got a chicken teriyaki/gyoza combo, while my brother got the Chicken yakisoba and both those meals ended up lasting us 3 meals. In terms of the food, I'd say that this is decent teriyaki! I'm no connoisseur but their chicken was juicy yet charred, teriyaki sauce was the perfect level of sweetness (they offered me extra!), and I loved the Gyoza and dipping sauce. I think another thing I'd like to highlight about Miako's is the price! You're essentially paying ~$12 for 2-3 meals. Miako's isn't always my first choice, but it's definitely something that's reliable! read more

Not too shabby. I admit that I found out about Miako Teriyaki from watching Fung Brothers. After that episode, I looked up where Miako Teriyaki in Renton was and figured that if I ever was in the Fairwood area, I'd check and see what the buzz was all about. Yet, it fell a tad short. I visited during lunch and took advantage of their daily lunch special, which was spicy chicken teriyaki. This is what I normally get at teriyaki spots. Call it a win. For about 10 bucks, I had a good portion of the spicy chicken teriyaki with white rice and a side salad. It didn't take long for me to get my food, even though this place was busy with takeout orders. The teriyaki wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable. The spice on the teriyaki was lighter than expected, but surprisingly with all the spicy sauce, the chicken was kind of bland and dry. My favorite kind of teriyaki is when it has that char/cooked flavor to it, if that makes any sense. Though you can clearly hear the cook making the teriyaki on a griddle, the chicken reminded me of when you eat boiled or poached chicken. Hmmm. Again, it wasn't bad, but it's far from my favorite. Fung Bros, you may have had a better experience here and it's cool that you highlighted this small business in Fairwood. Tucked away in Fairwood Plaza very close to the Safeway store, I have always been wanting to try this little teriyaki place. Finally made the decision to go there this evening. While I was there there were many pick up orders and the person working in the front register was polite and friendly to everyone. I ordered shrimp fries rice and Gyoza. The fried rice was delicious. Very generous portion and nicely seasoned. The Gyoza were crispy and down to perfection. Very nice vinegar dipping sauce. If you're in the area they are located next to Mud Bay Granary and Little Caesars pizza. Definitely worth the trip. read more

When walking in, we were immediately greeted by the girl working the front counter. She was super nice and helped us right away. We ordered our food to go and sat to wait. While sitting and waiting, we quickly realized there was NO AC on?! In 90-degree summer heat. I really don't understand how anyone could enjoy a meal, let alone how the poor employees are cooking without any AC on, especially since the restaurant was in DIRECT sunlight. Now to when we got home. The portions really small. I ordered beef teriyaki and upgraded my rice to fried rice. The beef teriyaki tasted odd. It reminded me of beef bulgogi, super super sweet. And the rice tasted plain, not like fried rice. My bf and his dad both got spicy chicken teriyaki, and they both said it had a sweet flavor to it and wasn't spicy at all (kind of like how my beef tasted like bulgogi). The side salad was okay, but it was clear they didn't let the excess water from rinsing the lettuce drain at all. There was so much water after mixing our salads with the dressing that the dressing wouldn't even stick to it. I hate rating places this low, but the fact that we couldn't have even tried to enjoy our meal in there due to there not being AC is just insane in this summer heat. I may be being nit-picky, but I've never in my life tasted teriyaki like this, even outside of washington. Very very odd! read more

My daughter loves teriyaki chicken and noodles and she stopped eating the noodles bc she said it was hard ... like it was either overcooked or not separated prior to cooking. I would compare it to eating al dente pasta but more on the not cooked side ... seemingly the same teriyaki sauce in this... Chicken is soft and not overcooked so they will get that star. There was literally about 6 very small pieces of broccoli as you can see in the picture and the grated carrot was almost non existent. And it cost me $14.00 bucks. Apparently that's why they didn't have any pictures posted of their food. I said I don't like it too sweet so they flavored it with horseradish. Really, It was nasty. The definition of a stir fry is mixed vegetables. Not one vegetable, cabbage in this case, ANd some token pieces of broccoli and grated carrots. The shrimp was the smallest kind but they were semi generous with about 15-20 pieces. The teriyaki was average while the sauce in a little container was extremely sweet. This cost me another $13.00 dollars. And no salad. Must teriyaki places give you rice and the little salad. I was extremely disappointed by this meal and the price for what I got. I will not return. I live really close to Miako, and I have now been here a few times when I'm in the mood for some quick teriyaki takeout. Their lunch specials change daily but are always a good combination of food. Portions are so generous...I usually have enough for two meals. You can't really beat the price for the quality and portion you get here. The teriyaki is perfect with just the slightest hint of sweetness to it. Best teriyaki ever. EVER. Been a customer for at least 20 years. Live in Whatcom county now and can get there only rarely but will go out of my way for takeout if I get close enough to Renton. Great chicken Katsu that is crunchy outside/moist inside (never dry!) with a sauce that is awesome and far and away different from other Katsu sauces I've tried which seem be universally dark, runny, sweet/bitter. This Katsu sauce looks more like seafood cocktail sauce but surely does not taste like cocktail sauce. Guaranteed you'll need more than one container of it for a single order because you'll be double-dipping! Same with the chicken teriyaki. Tasty with a thick and gingery sauce. Definitely not the thin syrup you get elsewhere! Would recommend Miako above all others. Small dining accommodations but service is excellent. Check it out! read more

I've been to Miako Teriyaki about 3 times since moving back to Renton. It is a great teriyaki spot. The employees here are really friendly and ensure that your order doesn't get lost even when they seem super busy (dinner rush). Another great thing about Miako is the portions and quality. You can get an order of chicken teriyaki for about $10-11 and it comes with a heaping serving of white rice, about at least a half pound of chicken with teriyaki sauce and a side salad. I also ordered the beef teriyaki for a bit more and it came with a large serving of rice and meat. The teriyaki sauce is sweet and tangy and compliments the food well. I noticed that you can purchase an entire bottle of teriyaki sauce too if you want. I haven't noticed them being on uber eats or door dash apps but you can also call ahead and pickup your order so it'll be ready by the time you get there. Would recommend to friends and visit here again when I'm in the mood for teriyaki. :) read more
