Stopped in here for a work lunch meeting with my former coworkers. It is their go to place for lunch, and was one of mine when I worked with them. We got a table almost immediately, as we did get there relatively early around 11:30 AM. The place was already somewhat busy, but there were a number of available tables. We've been wanting to try this spot for a while every time we drive by, it's packed, which usually says a lot. Finally made it in, and overall, it was a mixed experience. Started off strong with the uni shot, which was really good, and the sashimi fresh, clean, and exactly what you want from a sushi spot. We also ordered the mushroom and pumpkin salad with spinach, which tasted great, but at $20, it felt a bit overpriced for what it was. The rolls, unfortunately, didn't live up to how they looked. Presentation was definitely there, but the flavor just didn't hit. On top of that, they were falling apart pretty easily when picked up with chopsticks, which made them a little frustrating to eat. Service was solid overall staff was attentive despite how busy it was but they did miss our hamachi kama, which was a bit of a letdown. A couple things to note: this place is cash only, and it gets very busy, so expect a bit of a wait. That said, the vibe is nice, and the design of the space is something I actually liked. Tried this spot before we left Seattle, came hungry after a dance convention, wanted good quality in less wait time. Can never go wrong with Japanese Food! Service was excellent, tables were filled, yet we still got our food fast. We ordered Miyabi's Bento Box- a little pricey for me, was $29 for two items- back in California I can get a three item with same price, but quality was good, I opted for Tempura and Chicken Katsu. (I think it was good for what we ordered), the taste was good, tempura batter was not too thick, but then again, I'm spoiled in California! The rolls were also a little pricey, a dragon roll was close to $20 so that's why I got the Bento for almost same price. Of course you can ask for more, but this is the first sushi spot that I have been to where they do not offer a little baby plate with your water beforehand. service was the best thing about this place as the staff was accommodating. Sam and I stayed a little past the closing hours, but did not realize because we were catching up on so much. My family and I have been wanting to try a new sushi restaurant, and Miyabi just happened to be close to where we live! I've heard really great things about this restaurant from some friends, so I've been meaning to check it out for a while now. We came on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, and there was no wait. Parking in the plaza can be a bit tight, since it includes other popular restaurants like YGF or Bai Tong. I loved the vibe of the restaurant -- it's small, cozy, and very home-y. The staff were super friendly. They checked in on us often and gave us many suggestions when we were trying to look at the menu. We ended up sharing a few apps and some sushi, and there were many highlights! My personal favorites included the crab cream croquette (I have a hard time finding these at any other Japanese restaurant and they're very nostalgic to me), geso karaage, and the geoduck butter. It was my first time having geoduck and I loved the texture and overall richness of the dish! In terms of the sushi, my favorite was the white tiger; the seared albacore was delicious! Every time we come it's always quite busy! It's a pretty cozy restaurant with both tables and bar seating. The tempura is super crispy and I feel has a bit more dough than other places. The rolls always taste really fresh and yummy. It was my first time trying the vegetable maki and I really enjoyed it--it's essentially veggie tempura wrapped in a roll and it's really filling and yummy. It's a cozy, authentic Japanese restaurant tucked near Value Village, and it never disappoints. My family and I have been here multiple times over the years and the food has always tasted good. The quality and portion has been enough and the staff always greets us with a warm service. However, this most recent visit (December 2025), we noticed the prices have gone up dramatically. $27 for katsu, $42 for sukiyaki, and for one dollar more at $43 for a chirashi bowl...it seems pretty steep, even for Washington standards. You can definitely find the same dishes of equal or better quality at other restaurants. We will unfortunately have to take Miyabi out of our restaurant rotation because I believe the food can no longer justify the prices. read more

Food, service, and ambience were excellent here. First of all, they have a "special" menu that I highly recommend you look at. Today they had grilled whole squid and other items on the specials menu. Secondly, hot green tea is complimentary here. Perfect, since that's what I wanted to drink anyways! Since I was craving sushi, I ended up ordering a "seafood jumbo" roll and the "sunny crisp" roll. Both were delicious, large, and filling!! I liked the seafood jumbo roll a little bit better but alternated eating the two rolls since I enjoyed the crunchiness of the sunny crisp roll. One of the reasons the rolls are so big is because they use big chunks of fish, and not those little bits size chunks either. The other reason is because they put crab salad in the two rolls that I ordered. Creative and effective. I liked how most of the rolls had tons of fish in the roll - if not on the inside, then the top! And the fish tasted fresh, not frozen. Last but not least the atmosphere here is hopping. I love how the majority of the staff seemed Japanese too, which is not easy to find at a Japanese restaurant these days. The staff is super friendly and efficient. The blazinzilla roll was stand out with eel and flavor that I hav not had anywhere else. I went here with a group of 8 to celebrate a friend's birthday on a Friday night. My friend made a reservation, so our wait wasn't long. We were seated and fully accommodated throughout the visit and got a slightly larger table than expected, as one of our friends did bring a toddler along. As for the food, the menu is expansive, and has tons of sushi to order from. As with a previous visit I made here back in 2014, my friends and I definitely overestimated how much food we could eat, and ended up getting a TON of stuff. For myself, I got the bento with both chicken katsu and tonkatsu with a side of sushi. This came with miso soup, spaghetti salad, mixed greens and rice on the side as well. This was very solid, and pretty standard for a bento box. Portion sizes were already very huge for this, so my group and I definitely went overboard later with our other sushi choices. For sushi, we got the following: - Bomb tuna: lot of habanero and spice on this one, but was a really nice kick in what felt like an ordinary sushi. - Dragon: I love eel so this was one of my favorites! Eel sauce made it all the more better. - Go Mariners! : had a lot of green on top of it. Very flavorful and tasted the greens quite a bit. - Mt. Rainier: probably the 2nd heaviest and most packed sushi among what we got. It was loaded with tuna and crab scallion along with both spicy mayo and eel sauce. Also a little crunchy because of the tuna tempura, this was a great one! - Salmon sunrise: a seared salmon roll with avocado, crab salad and honey mustard sauce. Very umami without the salmon overpowering the sushi. - Super salmon: even more salmon here but this one wasn't seared like the last. This one had a spicier kick than the salmon sunrise, so I preferred this one a little more. - Super nitro roll: the one I got and my most favorite because of how much more loaded it was compared to the Mt. Rainier roll. This had a little bit everything of what we ordered (shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, cucumber, eel sauce, spicy mayo) and mashed it into this roll. Also packed some really fresh and delicate flavors that melt in your mouth so well. All the sushi we got was very fresh and we were all extremely full. I was happy that they allowed us to box some of the sushi as some places I know don't allow that. As for prices, it quickly ramps up over here despite it being around Tukwila, which normally doesn't charge as hefty of prices for food. I would definitely come back here but also make a reservation like my friend, since it gets really crowded here, especially on weekends. read more

Just stopped by our usual Japanese dine in sushi spot while I was getting my ring cleaned up at Shane Co. this isn't our first time here, but my first time writing a review. The service here is always top tier to begin with and my husband and I usually avoid the lunch rush but we couldn't help it this time. It's pretty hectic and busy but for good reason. I'm sad I didn't get a picture of the Miyabi Roll. I haven't had a roll in so long but that one really made me love rolls again . I never have any complaints here. The O-cha is always hot and we always get a collar, sushi, and at least 1 or 2 Izakaya plates. Although the space was a lot louder for lunch; the service and food quality never wavered. Wow, probably one of the BEST Japanese restaurants here in Seattle! My parents and I were trying to find a place close to the airport. When we couldn't eat at Marugame due to us being late and then closing at 9, Miyabi was opened until 9:30pm. Definitely a restaurant you'd want to show up early for as it can get crowded shortly and from the looks of it, they have a medium sized restaurant. Their menu is a wide variety and is physically wide and big, one of the best menus I've ever seen and a menu that is nicely laid out!!! We had 2 rolls, the spider and miyabi! Both my parents had udon soups and I had the Seattle Nabe (Japanese hotpot). We loved our main entrees SO MUCH! Our server was so nice and next time, I'll try their dessert and other items! Definitely planning to be back in the near future. This amazing establishment won one of the best restaurant WA awards last year so we were in for a treat! When people think of Japanese food they often don't know anything beyond sushi and ramen. I'm grateful for restaurants like Miyabi and Onibaba in the greater Seattle area that often has comfort options that my grandma or mom would make. A couple of years ago I was with a friend just after the new year and discovered Miyabi's is open New Years Day. It's usually very difficult to find a Japanese restaurant open on new years day as it is usually celebrated big for Japanese they eat Oshogatsu at home with family and friends. Most other Asian cultures celebrate Lunar New Year so it's usually easier to find other types of Asian restaurants open. This past new year my dad, sister, brother in law and I went for lunch on New Year's day we used to help my mom make a feast for family and friends but since she passed it has been harder. Was such a nice meal we went right when they opened. They had an Oshogatsu appetizer which we ordered to start the new year off with some good luck items. The kazunoko was a pleasant surprise. That day my sister and I both ordered something we hadn't had on the menu. i had the Nabeyaki udon and my sister order the Seattle Nabe off the Izakaya menu. We liked the Seattle Nabe so much we both ordered it yesterday when we went to an early dinner with my dad. It is full of vegetables, chicken, salmon, scallops and shrimp on a clear broth comes out piping hot. I liked it as it is lighter than the Nabeyaki udon there are skme Noodles but very little and not udon noodles but Harusame a gluten free noodle. Broth is deep with flavor but clean. They were packed on a Sunday at 5:30pm which was great to see were able to grab a table before the big rush came. They have a sushi bar but I noticed most people sat at tables. Service is always friendly and tea and water is always filled. You can tell they do lots of take out as well but it doesn't seem to affect the flow of those dining in which is impressive. We were looking for sushi close to the airport and found this place on Yelp. Definitely a good find. We weren't expecting so much variety. We ended up sharing edamame while we waited for our rolls. Since I was in town to go hiking, I couldn't pass out the Mount Rainierroll. They make the crab look like a mountain. It's super cute. It is also delicious. The tuna was perfect in the roll. The serving is pretty big and it fill you up. They do have cocktails, but it seems that all of them were sweet, so I opted for wine. My friend has the lychee saketini. I tasted it and it wasn't as sweet as I expected. It was actually a little tart, but in a good way. Parking is available on site, but shared with the other businesses. Our waitress was very friendly. We also got the half shelled oysters which were a lot smaller than we expected. It's super cute, but kinda small, so I wouldn't come here with a party of 10+ (but I'm sure they can accommodate). We came here for a birthday so our order was pretty big as we have big appetites! Two drinks, 10 pieces of sashimi, and a single roll come out to nearly $100 before tip, which is hard to justify. The bento boxes also don't seem worth it given the cost. This had always been our spot for celebrations - birthdays, graduation, family in town, etc. During Covid, we ordered takeout from here once a week. Basically, we have been eating here for almost 10 years now. However, this past month we noticed the quality has gone down. The prices are still high, but the food - udon, fried oysters, sashimi, hand rolls - aren't as good or fresh as they used to be. This sushi is the real deal, though the prices feel a tad bit higher than other places even compared to Seattle. High quality fresh fish, tasty combinations, and ultimately delicious. Every single roll sounds amazing so bring lots of friends and share. Takoyaki - comes with 5. Solid but there are better out there. Okinawa Breeze - it's a green AMF. Strong alcohol, arguably the taste is not any different than an AMF which checks out because it contains the same vodka, gin, rum, and tequila. However, instead of sour mix, it's specifically orange juice. Sashimi Bento - bentos are a great variety as well as being balanced. Sashimi consists of about 6 decent slices of fish. I prefer this bento over the sushi bento for taste and value. Snagged chicken karaage and tempura gyoza with this one. Tempura gyoza was new to me and introduced a fun, unique texture. Karaage was solid. Sushi Bento - the sushi bento comes with four pieces nigiri and two California rolls. It's a nice way to satisfy sushi cravings, but honestly might leave you desiring more. Chicken katsu and salmon shio here. Chicken was not dry, thankfully, and the salmon was tender, though a bit drenched in sauce. Mt. Rainier - the biggest thing about this roll is the aesthetics. The "mountain" almost looks like a sando. Thick slice of tuna is nested in the sando part. If you like tuna, this is a hefty roll for you. Blazing Godzilla - the blazing part refers to the heat of this roll. Not super spicy, but it's present compared to others. This is another tuna based roll, but with some unagi. There's a lot going on here, so it's a blast of flavor which can take away from the fish part of sushi but still delight your tastebuds. Super Nitro Roll - another tuna heavy roll as there's spicy tuna on the inside and out. But in addition, there's shrimp tempura as a texture changer. Tempura flakes also surround the exterior. This is a roll you order mainly for the texture, though it is still tasty. Baked Scallop Roll - this roll is baked which means it'll take a little longer, but the scallop is fantastic. Super creamy and warm, this one is sure to heat you up internally and comfort you. Big fan of this. Southcenter Roll - a variety of fish make up this roll and while there are multiple sauces present, the fish are still strong. Tuna, albacore, and salmon make this roll fatty, yet fishy, for lack of a better word. If you like fish, obviously opt for a roll with three like this. Go Storm Roll - another scallop roll which is phenomenal. Creamy yet again but enhanced by the avocado further. Soy paper wrapping is a light addition with a soft texture containing all the creamy goodness. Not baked so there's less wait but more of a traditional roll served room temperature compared to the baked one. read more
