Orange chicken
Scott G.

I'm at the hotel across the street. I was originally going to walk over to the mall area and the Olive Garden, but I saw the sign for teriyaki and thought it would be good to support a small business. I walked in through the mini mart. The man behind the counter asked if I was looking for teriyaki after I looked a little lost. He pointed me to the other side of the shop and met me over there. I wish I'd thought to ask his name. He was very nice and personable. I told him I'd be in town for a couple days and was looking for a good spot. I asked what's good on the menu. He pointed out a few things, but I settled on the spicy orange chicken. When I checked out, I thought it might be a tad pricey, but I also recognize the importance of helping a small business. While I waited for my order, I went back to the mini mart side and got a ginger ale and some gum. The same gentleman rang me up there. Then, back next door, I looked at my phone for a minute or two, and he came back to thank me for my patience. While thoughtful, I was not put out at all, I had only placed the order a few minutes before, and it really didn't seem like much of a wait. My food came out in short order, he bagged it up and put all the things I'd need (utensils, napkins, soy sauce) inside before I asked. He left me with a smile, and I walked across the street to my hotel to eat. Bringing it up to my room, I saw that it was a lot of food. Honestly, I SHOULD have only eaten half and saved the rest for the next day. But I didn't. The orange chicken was perfect. Just delicious. The rice was just right. Honestly, I can't think of a thing that would make it better. Highly recommend for both the food and the service.

First time coming by & what a nice surprise. We were greeted right away by the [i presume] owner & chef. Ordered our dishes & received them very quickly. The lady who brought them out was also very friendly & warm. They explained to me that all sauces are made in house & no MSG. I like MSG but that's besides the point haha. We ordered the basics; spicy teriyaki & chicken katsu. We loved it & had to ordered another dish. It's a lowkey, no frills place with good food & nice people running it. I'm excited to go back & try more food.

Teriyaki and veggie yakisoba

The food was very good! All homemade sauces and the owner was so nice! Good portions and good variety

Tofu stir fry

Honestly the best tofu stir fry I have ever had. I wish I lived closer! I would be here every week! Amazing customer service. You can tell that the owners care about quality and service.

This is a gem hiding around the corner in South Center. Small mom and pop shop with FRESH veggies and good portions. Well worth the drive.

This is the best teriyaki in the area, hands down. Meat was cooked to perfection. Family owned!

Unassuming spot but the food was great! Homemade hot sauce is a must have with the Yakisoba.

We got a table almost immediately, as we did get there relatively early around 11:30 AM. The place was already somewhat busy, but there were a number of available tables. We all picked a different sushi roll, I chose the Miyabi roll, which was very good. Our service and server was very good, guided us through the menu as best as she could. All in all it was a great lunch, with a nice active lunch scene and busy vibe. Thank you

Started off strong with the uni shot, which was really good, and the sashimi fresh, clean, and exactly what you want from a sushi spot. We also ordered the mushroom and pumpkin salad with spinach, which tasted great, but at $20, it felt a bit overpriced for what it was. The rolls, unfortunately, didn't live up to how they looked. Presentation was definitely there, but the flavor just didn't hit. On top of that, they were falling apart pretty easily when picked up with chopsticks, which made them a little frustrating to eat. Service was solid overall staff was attentive despite how busy it was but they did miss our hamachi kama, which was a bit of a letdown. A couple things to note: this place is cash only, and it gets very busy, so expect a bit of a wait. That said, the vibe is nice, and the design of the space is something I actually liked. Would I come back? Probably for sashimi and appetizers but I might skip the rolls next time.

Overall: 8.5/10…read more Food: 8/10 I got the #5 Creamy Broth which was a creamy chicken broth topped with juicy pork chashu and a flavorful seasoned egg topped with free self serve tempura flakes, green onion, and ginger. I asked for a spice ball for the soup on the side. The soup was rich and creamy as the name suggested. The pork chashu was average at best. It lacked flavor and color. The noodles were thick and al dente and absorbed the broth very well. I would not recommend mixing the tempura flakes into the broth as it makes them soggy and they no longer have the crunchy texture to contrast the noodles. For tempura I got a steamed egg tempura, shrimp tempura, and potato tempura. The egg tempura definitely reined supreme. Would heavily recommend a tempura sauce which they happened to run out with today. The vegetable tempuras were all bland. Would not recommend. If you do get the tempuras, eat them before the main dish so the richness of the main dish doesn't ruin the delicate flavor of the tempura. Atmosphere: 9/10 Tables were cleaned and bussed regularly. There were plenty of tables where we didn't really have to wait after getting our food. The tables were kinda close to each other and the restaurant was packed on a Saturday night at 7 pm. It was very loud and we could not hear the music in the background and had to speak up when talking to each other. Service: 9/10 Self service similar to chipotle where you order at the counter and they make it in front of you and all the individual components of each dish are premade. Unlike chipotle, once they give you the main dish in a tray, there is a self serve Tempura bar where you pay by piece.

They are booths along the wall and some tables as well. You have a cooler of drinks and fountain drinks, and milkshakes as well. I had the ohayou gozaimasu burger - which comes with a beef katsu patty (ground beef, breaded and fried - you can swap it out for chicken or pork as well or tofu if you prefer), topped with a perfectly fried egg, crispy bacon, melty cheddar, creamy Japanese, mayo, finely shredded crunchy cabbage and zingy Katsu sauce This is a really unique burger. I've been wanting to come here for a while and I'm happy. I finally had a chance. I'm looking forward to coming back and try one of their burgers with chicken Katsu and also pork Katsu in the near future, but I had to go with the original beef patty on the first visit. Service was great. I was greeted quickly and provided with some suggestions after I mentioned it was my first visit here. Their menu is unique so that type of help is appreciated. I made mine a meal and got it with fries and you can choose from four different types of seasoning for your fries or get them plain. I got mine with the furikake seasoning which was nice and added that umami flavor profile perfectly. You also get to choose dipping sauce and I went with more Katsu sauce, but they have five or six others that looked good. I chose a lychee oolong tea in a bottle from the cooler as my meal drink, but you could also get a fountain drink or upgrade to a milkshake if you prefer All in all, this is a really really cool creative twist on classic burger spot. They also serve some bento boxes and Katsu style hotdog at this Kent location here. The bathroom was really clean as was the lobby and the open kitchen. All in all, I'll give them a 10 out of 10 and I will be back
