Perks for closing at 11:45pm, perfect night for late nights plus there's boba open late right across! Heads up... it is super overpriced. I don't think I've ever paid more for teriyaki. I ordered a large shrimp teriyaki and got two canned drinks which totaled to $30- more than half the price you can get elsewhere. The teriyaki itself was not bad, but not the best I've had. Humongous upgrades to the decor since the last time we were there. I sincerely hope it was not a change in ownership or that the prior owners got a great deal out of it - they were so sweet. Extremely disappointed with this place. Overpriced, inconsistent portions, and outright dishonest. I ordered two large chicken teriyakis--one spicy, one regular--at $18 each. When I got home, the spicy dish had significantly less meat than the regular one (see photo, spicy on the right), more like a regular portion size. When we called to complain, they insisted we return with the food, which is ridiculous. Then they claimed their spicy teriyaki portions are always smaller, which no one mentioned when I ordered over the phone. How does that make sense when it's the same chicken with different sauce? They took our number promising a manager callback. Even if they comp the meal, the damage is done. They should've offered a discount or charged regular price ($15) instead of $18. It's not just about a few dollars but how customers are treated and how poorly they handled this. Came in late with my boyfriend 30 minutes before closing. Still had two parties ahead of us so we waited a bit. The staff was so friendly and patient, he asked us if a togo box is ok, brought the food to our table and even checked on us while we ate. Upon relocating here many years later, Teriyaki Time on Andover was the go-to. Hell, I took out of towners here to experience the uniquely PNW lowbrow cuisine. Even as recent as last month. What set Teriyaki Time apart from the others was their dry, very subtlety sweet preparation. That really took off when ordering extra-extra spicy, over its nicely well- charred dark meat. See, all the other Teriyaki places just slop an extremely sweet, thick & viscous fluorescent-orange gravy over lightly grilled chicken. It's just gross. And all are basically the same. Now this Teriyaki Time is just as bad as the rest. I guess I'm officially done with PNW strip mall Teriyaki. On this visit I knew something was up. There were two new big screen TVs playing a Mariners game. The menu was now on a huge LED thing. When ordering, the clerk asked "how many stars" I wanted my heat to be - never was asked before. I was as suspicious as a wife smelling strange perfume on her husband's undies. Something putrid was indeed in the air. Now, the clerk was nice and food prepared OK by Health Department standards. I ate here three times within a two week period in Seattle, twice dining in the restaurant and ordering once with UberEats. The first time, we had just gotten off a flight into SeaTac and had to run errands around Southcenter when we came upon this hidden gem of a restaurant just in time for dinner. I was not happy to have to be in Seattle so I was looking for comfort food and this place hit the spot! The owners are so friendly and welcoming that it almost made me forget that I wasn't back in LA. They make you feel at home with the complimentary miso soup at dinner time and checking in with you to make sure you're enjoying the food. The teriyaki chicken was perfectly moist and tender. The potstickers were crisp and flavorful with the accompanying dipping sauce. The fresh side salad provided the best balance to the meal with the refreshing carrot dressing. The carrot dressing tasted just like how my grandma used to make it! I also appreciated that there was a bottle of teriyaki sauce at each table so that you can decide how much sauce you want on your food. It's a small yet thoughtful touch. My husband loved the beef teriyaki and hoarded the bottle of teriyaki sauce! We both inhaled our meals and it was so memorable that I had to order from them again not a few days later with UberEats. The UberEats order was absolute perfection! I ordered the Chicken Yakisoba with a side of potstickers and miso soup. The food arrived hot and all the flavors were on point. They also made sure to add all the utensils and sauces so nothing was forgotten. On our way to SeaTac to finally leave town, we stopped in for a final meal. I had to get the Teriyaki Special #5 again with the chicken and the potstickers. Again, everything was well made and it was so satisfying to have consistently delicious meals. Take the time to find this place when you're shopping around Southcenter. I have been coming to Teriyaki Time for years and years...over 20 years to the point where the little Korean lady knew my voice when I called in and would always greet me by name! Always LOVED this place, food was amazing, grilled quality chicken and the beef was actual steak bites on skewers....[[HIGHLIGHT]]unfortunately it's under new ownership and although they've redone the place and it looks nice, the portions were TRASH![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered to go and for almost $20, I got a portion less the half what it used to be. I was so pissed! I was going to call just to bitch them out....but instead, here I am, and looks like I'm not the only one with their 3.8 star rating. I came here after my bowling tournament and I live in East Washington. MY WHOLE FAMILY LOVED THIS PLACE. The only reason we plan on coming back to Seattle is to eat the Teriyaki Chicken and Noodles again. They are so delicious, prepared on spot, and have that authentic taste that can not be replicated. Initially saw the star ratings for this place, the photos, and that it had been around a long time - I was very excited to try a new teriyaki joint! Unfortunately I should have read into the reviews further to see that they're under new ownership and quality has declined. I swung by here to pick up a late dinner (they're open later than most teriyaki places!) a couple weeks back. The man working seemed very busy and it took about ten minutes to pick up my to go food, despite it sitting on the counter the whole time I was in the lobby waiting. This isn't usually a big deal to me as I know labor can be tough these days and people have been overworked, but it did contribute to my poor experience because I was also quite underwhelmed by the food. The teriyaki chicken did not have that char you look for in a standard order of chicken teriyaki, it was more like boiled chicken with smaller grilled areas. I also wasn't a fan of the dressing on the salad - it seemed kind of mustardy and not like the standard side salad dressing at other joints. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this place.
