The Baja Dori with the thick spread of guac over cabbage and a huge chicken katsu
    Cynthia T.

Ok Katsu Burger, I see you now! We've passed by the unassuming storefront so may times and never wandered in but hubby was wanting a burger. Only sad we hadn't stopped by sooner! We ordered their special Ronin burger (beef katsu, bbq sauce, cheddar and upgraded grilled onions) and the Baja Dori (chicken bacon guac) both topped with shredded cabbage, tomato, pickles and katsu sauce. Also got the shake fries with nori and wasabi mayo and the black sesame shake. Everything was delicious! The crispy crunch of the katsu, just the right amount of sauces and fresh veggies. Just one person manning the counter and kitchen, but she was super efficient and it didn't feel like a huge wait for the food. The ordering process if through touch screen, no cash accepted so bring your plastic. Lots of tables and booths. We will be back for more!

This place was a pleasant surprise! Was wanting a burger but saw this pop up on google and it looked really good. The food did not disappoint! Had the Katsu Curry burger with 12 season fried and spicy mayo... so good!!! Katsu was nice and crunchy, curry flavor came through really well. The 12 season fried with thw spicy mayo was so good, it had a nice kick to it but not super spicy but very flavorful. Service was very freindly and quick! Place is very clean and they have an awesome mural of Gundam and Godzilla. Definitely worth a try if you have not had it!

We were on the hunt for a late lunch and Katsu Burger came up out of the ocean of results like Godzilla himself. It roared to us and we were beckoned to Katsu Burger like Mothra to Godzilla. There's not much interaction with the staff and or the kitchen so know that going in. Order off the kiosk and take your time even if there's a line of people behind you as there a lot of customization they can be done to your order. My companion ordered the Godzilla Attack while I was undecided between the Impossible Katsu and the Miso Honey Tofu Katsu. Note: Essentially, you can make any Katsu burger with Tofu - just use the customization options. Note 2: Off to the left of the Kiosk ordering screen is an explanation of the sauces and the seasonings for the fries. Take a look to find out what you want when you order a meal. My Impossible Katsu was LE-GEN-DARY. I will talking about this burger for awhile. While you think you can cut it, guess again, it ain't happening. Just squish down and open your mouth à la Godzilla style when he lets loose his radioactive breathe. The decor everywhere is on point even in the bathroom located in the back. I know you're asking, did I finish it ? Did I crush it ? Hells yeah I did. Just like Godzilla would have. If you're in the area or willing to make the drive, check out Katsu burger. Order your burger and feed your inner Godzilla.

Burgers are amazing. Service was fast as well; they brought your foods to you. The place is super chill and have tons of anime decorations and posters. The burgers are hot and juicy and massive.

Great place! Katsu Burger never disappoints no matter which location I've been to. The vibe reminds me of a 2000s shop. I also like the touch screen ordering menu. As minimal as service was, I felt welcomed. The worker greeted us despite us ordering from a touch screen, she brought out the food, and even told us to have a good day after we finished. The shop was also very clean and well organized. In terms of food, the Ranch Kudasai with chicken was sooo delicious. I loved the ample cabbage to make me feel just a little healthier and also helped balance out any saltiness. They do not skimp on the sauce! Nori fries were also a hit. Can't wait to go back.

By far the best fast food place I've been to. I've been to a lot of fast food places in my life, and I can say out of all of the ones, i rate this 4.2 stars. I'm not the type of person who likes fast food restaurants, but this place was phenomenal. The food is very filling, the fries are amazing, service is great, the burgers are phenomenal. But however, no food is perfect. I know based on how I described the place, I technically implied that it was perfect. I will say that sometimes the katsu can be kinda dry, but hey, it's good either way.

This place is amazing! My boyfriend and I always go here after the gym! the food is always delicious. My favorite burger to get is the Katsu Curry sandwich and I always pair it with a green tea milkshake The service is great as well!

I was looking for a place to eat while in town for some work at the airport. Katsu Burger is SO good. The pork cutlets they use are super tender and juicy. The fries are crispy and the curry powder is flavorful. The workers are super helpful and awesome. I'll be back when I'm in town for sure.

    Samurai select burger with chicken

The burger was big, very flavorful. The wasabi Mayo hits your nose pretty strongly initially and through all bites, I'd say it was a little too overpowering. And I'd have liked a thicker pineapple slice. Overall it was good and I'd come again to try another burger. Restaurant was clean. Oh and the pineapple crème soda was tasty.

Big Big Big like Godzilla Monster Big. With the right balance of topping, it was not heavy. Love the buns... very different from a standard hamburger buns or brioche but still tasty. It did not compete with the Beef Katsu.

Walked in and the owner immediately greeted us even though he was busy at a table working on his computer. The dining room was clean, as was the restrooms. We came around 3 pm. It wasn't busy at the time. The woman behind the counter answered all our questions very patiently as the menu is pretty vast. You order at a POS system. There is a kiosk/ POS Provider fee ($0.53). Take your receipt and find your own seating. The owner brought us our meal to our table. We ordered 2 burgers, 2 orders of banzai bites (pork & chicken), nori fries, 12 spice fries, and a kinako and sesame shake. I expected more of a wait, but was pleasantly surprised when it came out within 10-12 minutes. My Katsu burger was excellent. I liked the nori fries, but sampled my sister's 12 spice fries and liked them over my nori fries. I surprisingly enjoyed the unique kinako & sesame shake. I drank it down so quickly. Truly enjoyed this spot. If you're ever in Seattle. Give 'em a try. Your tastebuds will thank you.

    Samurai burger. These are huge!
    Jay J.

These burgers are huge! The ingredients are fresh and the katsu portions are big. The sandwiches have great flavors. Love the red onions! We had never tried a beef katsu before, it had an amazing flavor! I tried the samurai burger. Good flavors all around. The pineapple slice was a bit tough, but maybe just a 1-off. Pro-tip: don't trust the paper wrapper. Both of ours failed mid-burger and caused a surprise mess. You have been warned. :) Highly recommended when you're in the mood for something different.

We've tried the one in Bellevue and it's always good. We were in the area, so decided this may be good too. Called in an order. Had it ready when we got there. It's not as busy as the one in Bellevue. Had a couple of shakes, nori fries, 3 burgers (tofu, Tokyo). Their shakes are excellent. I'd pay nearly $10 for this type of burger rather than Red Robins. I like their cabbage. It's less watery and has more crunch. It's a small place. I like the one in Federal Way - ambiance wise. This one feels more like a take-out joint, similar to the one in Bellevue. Overall, good experience.

Karla came over right away and helped us with the kindest attitude. When we asked how to add sauces, she said, "They're free, just let me know which ones you want," and brought us two of each to try. It's so refreshing to visit a place that doesn't nickel and dime you. After placing our order, I realized I forgot to get a patty for our dog. Karla came by to check on us, and when I told her, she said she would make sure it came out with our food. It actually came out a few minutes before, which was perfect so our dog could eat first. That level of care really stood out. As for the food, everything was delicious. The loaded fries were savory and rich with a perfectly cooked egg on top. The burgers were juicy and flavorful, and the truffle fries with greens were a nice balance. The orange juice was honestly one of the best I've had. It was fresh, tangy, and had just the right amount of sweetness. The space itself is bright, open, and welcoming. There are games at every table, and it's both dog friendly and family friendly. We'll definitely be back. Karla, thank you for going above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

This classic, no-frills spot carries a nostalgic charm, with a casual, welcoming atmosphere that makes it feel like a staple of the community. It's the kind of place where the focus isn't on trends or presentation, but on delivering satisfying, flavorful food that keeps people coming back. The Hamburger perfectly captures that philosophy. It's simple--nothing overly dressed up or complicated--but that's exactly what makes it shine. The patty is cooked well, with a satisfying sear that brings out the natural flavor of the beef, while the bun and toppings complement rather than overwhelm. Every bite feels balanced, familiar, and genuinely delicious, like a reminder of how good a straightforward burger can be when it's done right. The California Burger steps things up with a more layered flavor profile. The meat is cooked just right--juicy, tender, and full of flavor--and paired with fresh toppings that add both texture and brightness. There's a satisfying richness to it, but it never feels too heavy. Each component works together seamlessly, creating a burger that feels indulgent without losing that classic drive-in appeal. Another standout is the Onion Burger, which might be the most memorable of the bunch. The patty is cooked to a juicy perfection, locking in flavor with every bite. What truly elevates it, though, are the caramelized onions. They're soft, slightly sweet, and deeply savory, blending into the burger in a way that feels effortless. The combination of the rich beef and the perfectly cooked onions creates a harmony that's hard to beat. Not everything hits the same high note, however. The Calamari Rings were a bit of a letdown. There was a slightly off-putting seafood smell that took away from the experience, and the breading felt excessive--so much so that it would fall off easily. On top of that, they leaned a bit too greasy, making them heavier than expected and lacking the crisp, clean bite that good calamari should have. Despite that one misstep, The Family Drive-In excels where it matters most. It delivers consistently great burgers that highlight quality, simplicity, and flavor. For anyone craving a classic drive-in experience with satisfying, well-executed burgers, this spot is an easy recommendation and well worth the visit.

I've been in a few times and am impressed by the quality of the food. My hats off to the chef! Here's the breakdown of the meal: The Food Chicken Fried Steak: This wasn't one of those cheap frozen patties that's all breading. It was nice and thick with just the right amount of crunch. Sausage Gravy: The gravy can make or break this dish, and they nailed it. It was thick, savory, and had tons of flavor. Stuffed Hash Browns: I upgraded my regular hash browns to the stuffed version with bacon, and it was the best decision of the day. They were perfectly fried and crispy--exactly how hash browns should be. Over Easy Eggs: It's surprisingly hard to find a place that doesn't overcook these lately, but mine came out exactly as ordered. Pancakes: I swapped my toast for pancakes, and they were fluffy and light. They serve them with soft whipped butter and syrup, which makes a huge difference. So for what feels like a decade, I have passed this place coming out of the local AMC, as there is no other attraction in Kent I would stop for. Based on reviews, I decided to give the place a try, but again, I think this place has been here since at least 2015 and with under 40 reviews, it's clear they are not changing lives. In reading reviews. More than one person said the prices were high for a truck, but I did not expect burgers approaching $20. The burgers were grossly overpriced. Someone said they had twice the meet of most places, I doubt that, I'd be shocked if it was more than ¼ patty, the burgers were big, but also incredibly thin. I would have much rather had a burger twice as thick on half as much bun. I actually ended up tossing the lower bun and folding the burger back on itself. That was issue 1. Issue 2 was after a decent wait for free food, my fries were under-cooked, and I didn't get any fry sauce. There were bottles on the tables, but it was 50 degrees, so we weren't eating outside. I assumed there was a small cup in he container, but only ketchup. I had the guacamole burger and instead of thick, chunky, rich guacamole, I guess a tangy avocado sauce. It also had a strip, maybe two of bacon that was so thin, it added no flavor. I've had much better for a lot less and despite the women being as pleasant that can be, this was not worth the money and proved to be a massive waste of time as well, because we certainly passed at least 6 places that make a better burger for less. I can't recommend and won't be back. The food could have been 30% less and I still would have been let down. Unless this was a bad day, this was the worth burger meal I've had in my life. 100% overrated.
