Many positives to highlight for this location! Excellent quality fish. Portions are big. Pricing is reasonable. Presentation for a takeout order was also lovely! Whoever did this clearly cared and I appreciate it. Paid about $34 for a chirashi bowl, 2 fatty tuna nigiri, and a spicy salmon roll. Worth it! read more

Well, when we walked in, it was unfortunate that we did not get a warm greeting. But we walked over to the kiosk thinking that was the only way to order. I was a little confused when we ordered our sushi because when we sat down to dine in. The menu on the table was a bit different from the kiosk? Other than that, the seared salmon I ordered was good and the size of the salmon was a nice size too. The prices are for single nigiri and it's not bad. The restaurant is cute and underneath the new apartments there in Kent. There's lots of parking when we went, which was sometime after 5pm and there is some reserved parking for the restaurant as well. read more

The lady was nice and helpful. My second visit and unfortunately not as good as first visit. I ordered the same thing as I did prior and added a beef skewer. The beef was very chewy but flavor was good. The one roll, I think it was albacore, had a weird taste. read more

We've been coming here for years, and it's our hidden secret. Here's the place to come if you're looking for no frills nigiri or sushi. No fusion or crazy rolls here, but they have an solid selection of fresh seafood that is always consistent. They also have the most reasonably priced rolls and Chirashi bowl around. They're located in one of those condo complexes that have a lower story with restaurants, so parking can be scarce. The staff is always courteous, and is happy to take orders placed by phone for pickup. Otherwise, they are also on GrubHub! read more

I ordered five items from Musashi Sushi: the California roll, spicy tuna roll, Musashi roll, cucumber roll, and the chirashi bowl. I placed my order online, and it was ready in about 20 minutes. It was my first time visiting, and I was pleasantly surprised by the affordable prices ($55 for 5 items) and the convenient, easy-to-find location. Overall, a solid experience -- I'll definitely be back to try more from their menu. read more

Great affordable sushi restaurant attached to the apartments. There is parking just for the retail stores. I love getting my sushi fixed from here with it being so close to home, their customer service and prices. I had good experiences here but their fish does sometimes lack the freshness quality. Previously got my usual, spicy salmon roll and the musashi roll. But this time, the spicy tuna that is topped on the musashi roll was not fresh. On the verge of rancid. The smell was sour and almost funky. I did pick up so I called the restaurant but I called during their lunch break and they don't have a voicemail set up. They serve and make great food, I suggest paying attention more to the food quality for the day before selling to customers. read more

Good service, but small space, low energy when we went in. The wine was very good and fairly priced too!

This is a hole in the wall area. There's plenty of parking. When walking in, the atmosphere is very clean. You order first then sit anywhere. I ordered the bento box special. It came with raw salmon and tuna pieces, grilled veges, beef and teriyaki chicken skewers, and a cold noodle with mayo. It was overall delicious! The meats were cooked perfectly and it's nice to have the bento as you can have a bit of everything. I was extremely hungry so I devoured everything. I am most likely coming back here as it's close to work! 10 out of 10, recommend! read more

All the items are reasonable-priced. I tried the Chirashi Bowl $18.75, which comes with 4 types of fish, unagi, a couple baby scallops and fish roes. I was able to substitute the shrimp with a piece of salmon. The fish slices are rather small and thin, but it's fresh and tasty. I will be back to try some Korean fried chicken cuz it smells really good. read more

If you're looking for quality and good priced sushi, this is the place to go!!! I ordered 4 rolls for only around $30. They have a list of 6 piece rolls that averages $5 which is such a great deal. Their signature roll is called Musashi's roll which I recommend. The Dragon Roll cost $12.50 and was a decently good roll. I loved getting multiple "cheap" rolls and dipping it with spicy Mayo on the side. The service was good. Our server took our order and nice any questions we had. The orders was made decently quickly for the amount of rolls we ordered, and totally worth the wait. The place is kinda small. Only had around 4-5 tables so I would imagine it would be hard to eat dine in during rush hours. I can see it being busy here since they provide great food. I wish they provided better decorations to provide a sushi restaurant atmosphere, read more

I had a random late craving for sushi around like 8ish at night. I was so excited to see a Mushashi location in Kent! So I decided to call and order take out. I ordered a Chirashi bowl but I substituted the tuna, yellow tail and albacore for more salmon + seared salmon. Now I don't know if I ordered sushi too late or that their fish quality was lacking. First bite I took was the scallops, immediately I could taste how fishy it was. It didn't taste fresh or sweet. Next was their seared salmon, it was ok. Fresh seared salmon usually has that melting effect that is bursting of goodness in your mouth. Same with the regular salmon. The eel was chewy, and cold. Nothing special. Definitely did not satisfy my sushi cravings but for all of this fish was I believe, twenty dollars and some change. So that is a win! read more

Uh, such a thin bed of rice for the chirashi bowl. I've been to the Bellevue location many times and usually, I have rice leftover. But this Kent location, I needed way more rice. And I think you get less pieces of fish. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. Rather drive a little more to go to the Bellevue location. Also, I think they need another FOH person. 1 person to take the order, serve and fulfill deliveries isn't enough. I could barely get a hold of her to ask for something. FYI, you pay and tip when you order in the beginning before you experience the food and the service. read more

I LOVE Musashi's! I wish there was a location in Federal Way, but can't complain that the Kent location isn't too far away. Since moving out of Washington, my husband and I have had some friends become practically regulars here and constantly see their Instagram stories of sushi at Musashi's. So of course, on our next trip home we HAD to pay a visit! We stopped by on a Friday night around 7pm to meet up with a friend and the place was empty. (Note: there was a constant flow of people picking up to-go orders, and during our time there one other couple ate in.) Lucky us! It's like we rented the place out ;) Inside was clean and spacious, but with limited seating I wonder what wait times would look like if it were packed. The food was pretty quick to come out when we ordered. Of course we had to get like 30+ pieces of nigiri, 90% of it being seared salmon LOL. Honestly that's what we came here for and it didn't disappoint! The quality of the fish and the flavor was perfect. It was so good that I was definitely tempted to order more even though I was at a good level of full! Yes, I know - I'm reviewing based off of my order of seared salmon, spicy seared salmon, and fresh salmon nigiri but the fact that I want to return based off of trying those three days a lot, I think! Reasonable prices and great quality? Hands down will be back. Also wanted to note that gal who was helping us that night was so sweet! Very attentive, provided quick service, and we even chatted about the other Musashi's locations while we were paying for our meal :) (Apologies for no photos - I basically inhaled it right when the platters of sushi hit the table) read more

I order uber eats. The food I order was good. The service was crap. I only got half my order they forgot to put my rice bowl in and gave me sushi instead. It's not under fault. It was whoever packed the order didn't double check. Terrible service when I call about the mistake and they blamed uber, I explained to person on phone and she said she was manager too. She argued with and said it's in the bag I said no it's not. Well uber only gave me 1/2 my money back for that order. read more

When I arrived around 5:40 on a Saturday (I was meeting a friend for dinner at 6), the place was nearly full; of the 6 tables, only one was free. So I snagged it. The place started to clear out more after 6, and was nearly empty by 8. So my guess is that many folks who eat in arrive early, and most others order to-go. It is a tiny place, and the ambiance is pretty minimalist: a counter to order, with one person working behind the counter and serving all tables, 6 tables total scattered through the open space before the counter. Food was decent, but not the best sushi I've had. I ordered the spicy salmon roll, my date the vegetarian roll (one of the few things on the menu that is vegetarian, which she is). I also ordered edamame, and a bowl of miso. Not anything I'd rush back for, but if I were in the area, and hungry, I'd certainly stop by. Parking is not great. There are spots reserved for the retail businesses (I guess many of the others get taken by residents and guests), and I was lucky enough to get one, but my date was not. She had to park pretty far away. read more

Love Musashi's and this location is very convenient. I always order the seared salmon and broiled eel. A few times, my partner and I have done a few of the rolls as well as the chirashi. So good. For the price, it's very filling and they don't skimp on the protein! Each time we have gone here to dine in or take out, our food was always fresh. Great service too! Gave this a full 5 stars, because each time we get food here, there has been no problems, service has always been great as well as the food. read more

Came in with my son around 1pm. It was completely empty. I ordered 3 different nigiri pieces, a shrimp tempura roll, and 2 cokes. The server didn't give us any water, any napkins, and one of my nigiri order was wrong. She scraped it off my plate and came back and just placed it onto my plate again. The whole vibe was off. I could understand if they were packed but my son and I were literally the only customers there. The roll was fine and once my order was fixed it was ok too but I wouldn't come back here. I forgot the names of the rolls but one was a shrimp tempura roll and I think the other one was a spicy tuna roll. Nonetheless, they were both just ok. If I had no choice, were super hungry, and already in the area, then I wouldn't mind getting a roll here but I'd rather drive a bit further and look for something better. Not pictured but the chicken and beef teriyaki was flavorless, dry, and completely unappealing. Good thing I had some unagi sauce at home so I used that to give it some flavor. There wasn't even enough meat. I could have gotten 2x or 3x as much meat for the price a block away or something. read more

Stopped by the best place for sushi in Kent for my self-care day. Picked up my usual favorites, but was in for a treat when I noticed chicken wings on the menu. Yes. You read that right. They now have delicious, juicy, crispy & flavorful Korean Fried Chicken Wings. The sweet cashier/waiter told me they are trying them out because they sell them at other locations. I highly recommend getting them! These are the best chicken wings that I have had in a LONG time! Why did I only get a 10 piece?? Today I tried the Garlic Kick (tastes like Thai 4 star) Sweet & Savory (tastes like Thai 3 star) Both were yummy. I may try Hot Kiss next time since I tend to get 5 star when ordering Thai food and that is one step hotter than Garlic Kick. They come in five flavors so I know there is something for everyone. They even have a plain option if you are too chicken.... Pun DEFINITELY intended. read more

Best in town sushi for the price!!! Service is chill and the shop is small and homey. (:

I have very high hopes because I've been to other locations. Came here for lunch and the place is small and cute right under a nice apartment complex. The restaurant have this sterile vibe-- when we dined there were only a handful people and it was so quiet. I think it was just too quiet; almost echoes. Anyways food..... We've been going to this location since 2021, and it used to be great! We always order a Charashi bowl, sub all salmon. However, what we had yesterday was an obvious dip in quality. The rice was weird, every piece of fish was different and didn't taste the same, and one piece had a BONE in it. This has never happened to us before. I hope the quality of the food improves to what it used to be again :( Rating two stars because service is always friendly. read more

Went to the musashis in Wallingford for many years during my college years so I'm super hyped to see one further south! This location is a little hard to find as it's on the commercial level of an apartment/condo complex, and it's a little small inside. I got the chirashi bowl to-go and it came out to ~18ish w/out tip. Fish is high quality, and came with lots of ginger which I love. I was looking for some Japanese cuisine to start off the weekend on the right foot! We saw that Musashi's opened not too long ago, and because we haven't visited yet, we decided to head there for dinner. I was curious how the quality of the fish was for the chirashi bowl, so I ordered one for $17. It came with an assortment of different fish (salmon, eel, scallop, tuna, yellow tail, albacore, etc.) on top of rice. I was pretty happy with the large amount of fish that they put on the bowl! While the salmon and eel slices were delicious, the other slices of fish had a rubbery texture that was hard not to notice. The rice to fish ratio was well balanced though. For the price and amount of fish given, I would come back again if I'm ever craving some budget friendly Japanese food! read more

Ordered from uber eats because it stated that over 220 people ordered from the establishment with a 4.6/5 rating. Got two rolls: dragon roll and a tuna roll. They were okay. Also got a sashimi plate. The tuna on the plate wasn't fresh as in it didn't taste good and it had a unpleasant scent. The miso soup seemed a bit off. read more

Long time customer of Musashi Kent, back from when ownership was Korean and then new Chinese ownership. Quality took a big dip today. I took a bite of the first piece of nigiri and was taken by surprise with the mouth feel of the rice. A quick examination confirmed that the sushi chef had used very dry rice and it was crunchy. I informed the long haired Asian woman working there and she said it would be reported to her manager. I explained to her that a sushi chef would know by the feel of the rice whether it was dry or not. Her chef made the nigiri pieces without caring about the quality. She thanked me for letting her know and did nothing more. Disappointing experience and I'm not inclined to return after such an indifferent response from the staff. It would been better for the Asian sushi chef with the spiky hair to be honest and say that the rice was too dry for making nigiri. Also problematic is that this Musashi location takes payment right away upon ordering for dine-in and asks for you to tip at the time of payment. So if dining in there, you'll be asked to tip even before tasting the food and experiencing the service. Goodbye Musashi Kent and here's some advice... Do better for your other customers and never compromise on quality. Take responsibility and make things right when your quality does fall short. Update in the same evening: Apparently the quality issue was worse than I expected. I rarely get food poisoning because of my iron stomach, but it's been 4 hours later. Getting sharp pains in my gut and nausea. Feeling a strong need to vomit. Some part of the food preparation by the sushi chef was contaminated. Be cautious if you choose to go to this restaurant. Customers shouldn't have to check for quality at a sushi restaurant, but with restaurant prices staying high... it's understandable to search for good value and the price of sushi here is lower than other places. At least if you get food poisoning, you'll save about 15-20% compared with more expensive sushi restaurants. Some might say that's worth the risk, but I'm not one of them. read more

One of the most reliable sushi chains in WA. They have consistency across all locations I've been to so far. Unfortunately this place doesn't have sit-in dining available yet, so you gotta take it togo or there are some places to sit outside if weather allows. I love their prices, for the quality you get it's unbeatable. The restaurant is a little hidden in an apartment complex, but parking isn't an issue. I believe you can also order online. My usual order always includes seared salmon or unagi. I think the chirashi bowl here is a little overrated, you definitely want to try their rolls. Their menu lets you order sushi by the piece, it's nice to be able to try a little bit of everything. So happy there's a south location now! read more
