We've tried all the restaurants at the Muckleshoot casino with varying degrees of satisfaction. 8 is our favorite. They have a wide selection of Asian food and everything we've had has been very good. Last night we had several dishes but the stand out was the Agedashi Tofu. Most places use firm tofu which does the dish no service. This was more like silken tofu and was absolutely the best I've had in a really long time, the service often is spotty and you might never see your server again after you order but the food makes up for that. read more

My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday, and luckily it wasn't very busy, so we were seated pretty quickly. I've also been here on Saturday evenings when the wait has been 30 minutes to an hour, so I think we just picked a good time to visit. We started with the spicy cucumber salad (which I somehow forgot to take a picture of), and then my husband ordered the General Tso's chicken while I had the beef and broccoli. The server was very friendly, and all of the food came out fresh, hot, and tasted really good. I especially appreciated that everything was served nice and hot. The biggest downside for me was the price. I understand it's inside the casino, but it still felt expensive for what you're getting. My husband's General Tso's chicken with a small serving of rice was around $23, my beef and broccoli was $26, and even the small bowl of cucumber salad was $9 before tax. While my portion was definitely generous, it still felt like a pricey meal for Chinese food. Overall, the food was good and I'd eat here again if I was craving it, but it's definitely one of the more expensive dining options inside Muckleshoot. The food is delicious, and I would have called this my favorite restaurant until our most recent experience. The service has never been great, but it was never this bad either. We went last night for dinner at 9 pm and had to wait but were seated quickly. Our wait for water and to give our order took a bit longer than expected. When we sat down at our table both of our empty water goblets were visibly dirty and streaked, as were the plates kept on the table. We cleaned them ourselves and didn't ask for replacements. Our server was curt and rude but only to us, as we could often see her smiling and joking with her other tables around us. We couldn't help but notice that we were a different race than everyone else. After our food was dropped we realized we didn't have silverware. I sat waiting to be checked on but it didn't happen, so I had to take a set from a nearby reset table. Our water carafe was never refilled when it became empty. We were never offered drinks or refills of those drinks. We were checked on once very late in the meal, but just "is it ok" without actually stopping to listen or make eye contact. When I was just over halfway done with my food, our server came to the table and set our check booklet down with much more force than necessary. I had never seen this woman before in my life, why would she be so short with us? When looking at the menu earlier we had seen a dessert we wanted to try, so I had to ask our server not to give us our check without the option of dessert. She was not apologetic about it. She said "So you want a menu?" and I said no, we wanted the Ube 3 Ways. Her treatment to us was so unnecessary that it made me sad for the rest of the night, when I should have had a great time at the casino resort. read more

My friend and I made a last minute reservation while visiting the car show. We were just glad we were able to get a table within 45 minutes. When we arrived, the hostess informed us that no one showed up to hostess because of the car show so she was having to run the front end by herself. She said at least the restaurant wasn't busy and they had just opened for the day so she was hoping her day would get better. We ordered shrimp tempura, an unagi roll, a spider roll and a bowl of miso soup. The waitress only brought my unagi roll and the tempura. She never brought my friend's order to the table. We waited. And waited. The waitress never bothered to check on us or even come back with my friend's food. Then she slammed our check down on the table and started to take off. We asked where my friend's food was and she informed us that she never heard her order! She took both of our orders! The worst part was that the waitress seemed completely put off that she had to order more food and didn't even bother to apologize for not checking on us in the first place. She almost acted like she didn't want us there and tried to push us out the door by repeatedly shoving the bill at us even when we requested that she bring my friend's food. This woman should not be working in the hospitality industry. The unagi roll was just ok. The shrimp tempura was heavily breaded and was not fried in tempura batter. The shrimp was rubbery. When the spider roll finally arrived, it was warm, mushy and not fresh, like it had been sitting for an hour (which is exactly the amount of time that had passed). My friend's miso soup only had a couple tiny pieces of miso and she said the broth didn't taste right. We waited 30 minutes (with our plates pushed aside) after eating for the waitress to bring our check. When she finally stopped by our table she said, "I suppose you want your check now " and then, upon thumbing through her book, couldn't find it so she let us wait for another 30 minutes before she brought us our check. I've never walked out on a tab before but the thought did, actually, cross my mind. Not gonna lie. The restaurant was not busy. The table next to us had three different groups seated at it while we waited for decent customer service that, unfortunately, never happened. The restaurant was about what I would expect from a casino restaurant. Smoke and Cedar is the only restaurant that I would recommend within the Muckleshoot Casino. Sadly, the food and service just aren't worth it. Thankfully, we didn't need to be anywhere fast after lunch. We won't be returning. P.S. I honestly have to say, I suspect our waitress was racist. When the beef teriyaki finally arrived, it was a miss--overcooked, chewy and rubbery, nothing like what it should be. All told, two dishes took two hours from order to finish. They're located inside Muckleshoot Casino near the smoking area. It was busy on a Saturday evening so I suggest joining the online waitlist before you arrive. They said it would be an hour wait but we got our table sooner, maybe 40 min? The decor was very nice and fancy. Even the water was fancy and served in a glass bottle lol. Everything was pricy but delicious! The sashimi combination was about $60 and comes with a big bowl of fresh sashimi and a small plate of tuna and cucumber rolls. We also ordered the the mountain roll, Seattle roll, spider roll, and honey walnut prawn roll. Spider roll and Seattle rolls were crispy with fried tempura inside. Honey walnut prawn roll had a cheesy filling topped with crispy honey walnut prawns. The mountain roll was the biggest roll and had a ton of crab filling and fried tempura. They were all delicious but my favorites were the honey walnut prawn roll and mountain roll. The Thai seafood soup came with rice noodles and had plenty of seafood like shrimps, mussel, clams, fish, etc. You can also opt for rice but we chose rice noodles, which honestly wasn't that much considering how much soup you're getting. The soup tastes like Vietnamese canh chua but more spicy and sour. You could definitely taste the citrusy flavor. It comes in a giant bowl and is great for sharing! There was so much in that bowl so we packed it to-go. We were looking forward to trying the squid salad after hearing a lot of people rave about it but unfortunately it was sold out. Was excited to try this place, we LOVE SUSHI & ASIAN FOOD!! We got a good deal on the hotel after Thanksgiving on Cyber Monday, so we stayed two nights. Not sure that was so smart putting in $1K in the slots over two days... ugh. But this restaurant (reservations recommended especially Fri-Sun)) We had 3 sushi rolls, 2cups of soup(nice that a cup was good size) hot & soup + miso, both very good. Lastly we ordered the calamari appetizer/salad. It was sadly over fried, rubbery/dry. We should have sent back, but hubby was determined to eat it as the greens/dressing good. Service good. When I'm at the shoot, this is my go to spot for food. Came here for a chill night with some friends. We yolo'd and got the sushi boat, well worth! Came with a whole bunch of different sashimis. It also came with 2 rolls. I'm not sure what the rolls were but one seemed like it had fried shrimp tempura in it. Regardless, they both were good. We ordered the garlic chicken I would say it was kind of meh. The drinks however were really good! I don't remember what drink I ordered but it was very fruity and tropical and wasn't toooo strong. There was something really wrong with the rice. It was EXTREMELY wet. Almost like someone stirred in a bunch of water. I know sushi chefs wet their hands so the rice doesn't stick, but this was unusual. The rice itself wasn't overcooked or broken. it was like a bunch of water was added after it was cooking. Many people would say the rice is as important or even more important the the seafood/fish product in sushi. The texture was so unpleasant. I thought this, being an area with a large asian population and casino patrons, standards would be high. But this was below shopping mall sushi. I think the calamari was the best I've ever had, the flavor combo of the sweet chili sauce mixed with a hint of wasabi, omg so good. Wow! I've lived in Washington state over 20 years now and thus was the first time I've been inside Muckleshoot Casino. What a great experience!. Decided to try the 8 Asian restaurant after reading some good reviews. We went on a weeknight, so it was not overly crowded. The dining area was spacious and allowed a view into casino. We were warmly greeted and seated immediately. Our server came over to introduce herself and was very friendly and kind. We decided on the Mongolian Beef, a side of vegetables, and a dragon roll. Everything was delicious. Throughout the meal, our server kept an ion our table and made sure our water glasses were full at all times and removed empty plates, the entrées were great and the portion size is generous. Do you have a clear view of the kitchen and sushi bar in the back of the restaurant. Everything was spotless. Very impressed with the level of cleanliness and it's obvious that the people care who work there. We could've had a good Chinese meal at many places, but the service made the difference. I ordered a draft beer and it came right away. I also ordered salt and pepper lobster which was pretty good, and shao mai which was very disappointing. Almost no flavor or taste to ones I have had at other restaurants. The counter at the sushi bar in front of me was sticky and so was the next place. The menus looked they needed cleaning too. There was upper counter between the sushi bar and the lower eating area. After I noticed the stickiness, I looked at the upper counter and it was dusty in many places up there and other items sitting there. Ended up with some unusual people next to me on both sides. An English-speaking couple who seemed happy arguing and swearing at each other, and the other side was an Asian lady who was missing many teeth, and seemed to be a regular casino patron, restaurant patron or off-duty restaurant staff who was making many requests of Sary. read more

Great food with great company !!! Our most favorite if you love noodle is the wonton noodle soup it reminds me of my favorite beef braised beef noodle I usually buy in china town . The rainier sushi is really good as well along with the special muckleshoot fried rice . I didn't expect the pineapple mixture in there would be pretty good. I took one star off because you have to go through the smoking area and as someone who has mild asthma it really was difficult . The smell is so strong, I hope it wasn't too far from the back passing all the smoking people. Always get the calamari or the honey walnut shrimp!!! So we gave it another shot and he made sure our experience this time was the best which it was. I'm hating to give a two, but it's a round up as it is. I have seen ups and downs here over the years and this is the downest. The Shu Mai was horrible. I literally had to spit it out. Our server saw that and didn't even ask if something was wrong. There were long strings of almost raw connective tissue that refused to be chewed. The Wonton Noodle Soup was just their Ramen that they added some tiny wontons to. The final insult was that the noodles were mushy and overcooked. Now you'd think they would have held a table for me, it's the custom when you make a reservation ! Not this place! Sashimi poke, which was decent. It was a great assortment of seafood, my favorite was the squid nice and firm, not chewy! But there was no real flavor. We also got their summer roll aka spring roll. It was sub par - tasted good, but it was probably made at the beginning of the shift and not kept wet. The outside was kinda hard && the presentation was not great looking. I would pass OR ask if they are fresh. We also got MISO SOUP && if any y'all know me... it was A-MA-ZA-ZING! The husband got a roll and a beef dish, nothing to rave about because i can't even remember what he got.... And I got their HEAD-ON fried shrimp. The roll was okay for me - I'm not a fan of imitation crab so, IF you do go ahead && try it. But those HEAD-ON shrimp fried in garlic chips - A LOT - and chilis omg the helping I got was HUGE and it was super good - super garlicky && a little spicy. 10/10 would recommend. First visit the the new '8' Chineses Restaurant inside the main Muckleshoot Casino. Joined by a few old friends from HI, so of course we had to give this place a visit. The decor is nice and offers somewhat of an Asian ambiance. Lots of reds (indicative of good luck in Chinese), nicely set tables. Lucky bamboo plants on each table. White cloth dinner napkins and of course chopsticks. Lighting and noise is somewhat subdued and semi transparent shades are hung in the windows to separate the main casino from the restaurant I ordered he Benton Box ($25.00) which consisted of four (4) pieces of sashimi (raw fish) set on a bed of thinly sliced cucumbers and salad greens, four small California rolls, an Ebi (cooked shrimp) & a tuna sushi and the thinly sliced pickled ginger and obligatory wasabi for making your dipping sauce. The topper was the Seaweed & cooked octopus salad. The seaweed was so delicious, crunchy & fresh. A few pieces of the octopus were a bit extra chewy, but nonetheless good. My wife had the Crisp Chow Mein Noodles with beef ($18.00), which also included sliced water chestnuts, baby bok choy, straw mushrooms and tender beef. The gravy was just good, not outstanding, but the combined flavors enhanced the crispy fried noodles. Overall, a good dish. The other friends ordered some of the crispy noodles too and there was a couple orders (plates) of Green Beans Stir Fry with Beef. One particular friend ordered a double order of the Crisp Chow Mein Noodles so you gotta believe it's delicious. I believe the prices may be a bit high, but if one is seeking some good Chinese food while visiting the casino, give this place a try. The restaurant is situated towards the west end of the casino (the main opening), if my bearings are right. We parked in the multi-deck parking lot so had to walk from one end of the casino to the other, stopping of course from time to time to donate at a couple of the machines. I will say out the gate the customer service was good, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated very quickly. Our waiter was friendly and for the most part attentive. I thought the food was ok not the greatest for how expensive it was. We ordered the deep fried calamari which had a distinct corn starch taste to it with barely any batter on it and they were rubbery, it was disappointing because the plating was nice and made the calamari look tasty. The dining room was not that of even a middle of the road dining environment it looked like a seating area for a food court. It was loud and the ambiance was terrible. So, if you want fair to middling food in a loud environment that is over priced, this is your place. I would not recommend this place for a dinner date. Never in my life have I had chow mein that was the consistency of dead grass. Never have I ever had a thick slimy gravy on top of it either. It was foul. I took a bite and almost died. The general Tao. It was basically chicken nuggets in a thick batter and the sauce was a super thick ketchup. I wish I took pics. It was pretty bad. BUT! The service was very nice.
