I saw that on Facebook that the owners are retiring and I saw so many comments on how they would miss the food and service here. There were many who praised and would miss the almond fried chicken which is one of my boyfriend's favorite dishes and it's not too far from my work so we decided to stop by here. We arrived and we got seated right away. We placed our order of a Mai Tai, dinner special combo 1, Dinner special combo 4, walnut prawns, house fried rice, egg rolls and a cup of wonton soup. It didn't take too long for us to get our food and I can see why people were saying they would miss the food. The food portions here are generous and delicious. The almond fried chicken is definitely one of the best that my boyfriend and I ever had, the sauce is to die for! The pork fried rice you get with your combo was meh but the house fried rice not only has amazing wok hei but they were generous with all the ingredients. The wonton was delicious though I wish you would get at least two wontons. The egg rolls here are not frozen and made fresh as they are huge and stuffed with goodies. The walnut prawns were fantastic! The Mai Tai was also so pleasant and refreshing. The egg flower soup was comforting and I love that it had chicken and corn as well. The interior is simple but gorgeous with lovely painted murals. The space is well-lit and there are a lot of tables and chairs at the dining room and plenty of stools at the bar. I do love that bar is darker with lots of string lights and music playing. The employees and owners are super friendly and efficient with all their customers. Last year we celebrated CNY here, and today we did also. They are the best around this area. We are picky when it comes to Chinese food. We will drive to Canada or San Francisco for good Chinese food. But after searching for one in our area, this place has the best tasting. Service always great, not a bad area also. read more

To be transparent, I am Chinese and typically only eat authentic Chinese food. This chow fun noodle is very salty. It was edible but it would have been better with less oyster sauce. The server was great and prompt. The bar seems a bit more lively than dining room but I enjoyed the coziness of it. read more

The layout is a little strange. The food was good though. Wonton soup was really flavorful and the noodles was cooked perfectly. I got kung pao chicken and I love that they used lots of zucchini and vegetables! (I asked for no peanuts) the water didn't taste good though. Also the menu says (no refills) next to the soda which I thought was kinda whack, but I ordered one and it came in a can then made more sense. I would just write "can of soda - $250" which would imply you don't get unlimited cans, rather than saying no refills. Just a critique though. The ice tasted a little off so maybe it's time to clean the ice machine. I'd probably try it again because the food was pretty good, and it's right by my work. read more

Absolutely delicious food. Everyone that works here is absolutely so so kind and helpful. My in laws invited my husband and I out to lunch and they wanted to show us this place. Well, I'm so glad we tagged along because we got a family meal and holy moly was it a lot of food and absolutely worth every penny. From the soup, to the service to the main entrees, we were not disappointed. We went home with so much leftovers! We ordered the fried rice, chow mein, Mongolian beef and honey walnut shrimp. Three of us had an excellent lunch at Main Garden today. We ordered the "B" dinner for three and it was so much food that the leftovers will feed us for days. Also ordered the green beans which were fresh and perfectly cooked. We asked that the Mongolian beef be cooked just slightly spicy instead of Szechuan hot and it was tender and had just the right amount of heat. Dining area was spacious and great for family dining. Waiting area had couple seats while waiting. We love getting the lunch special. It's a great deal. Our first time dining in, they provided an amazing service. Food came quick and hot. Our go to is the general Tao and orange chicken. The sauce is coated so well on both. The general Tao has a spicy sweetness whilst the orange chicken has the bright orange sweet flavor along with a salty soy. Chicken on both was crispy, juicy and good chunk of meat. Food was terrible! Either too bland or too salty. Mongolian beef was chewy and not edible. S&S chicken was really hard to eat. Chow mein, yuck! Their BBQ pork fried rice was the only OK item we tried. And it was barely ok. There was gum on the wall by our table and the bathroom was really bad. Overall this place was 0.5 out of 5 stars. The cokes were nice and cold but no refills. But they came out in cans with a cup of ice so we get it. I would avoid this place at all costs. Overpriced for the terrible quality! This has been my go to for years, since they moved from Puyallup. The portions are huge and value is there. I really liked Golden Dynasty but they closed up shop and I had to find another Chinese restaurant in Kent. Luckily there was another one in the valley next to the golf course. It's kind of hidden from Meeker Street but I'm sure they get a lot of business from out of towners staying at the Best Western next door and folks who are done with their round of golf. I've only placed to-go orders and they were always friendly when I walked in. Parking is free and there's plenty of it since they share the lot with other businesses. read more

Order twice over two days. Day one, I ordered Wor Won Ton soup. I received 3/4 of a quart of broth with a separate container of steamed wonton, vegetables, and pork and chicken. EVERYTIME I've ordered this dish, it's all put together, soaking up the flavor of the broth. Day two I ordered Sesame Chicken with steamed rice. I received this minute container of steamed rice with the BREADED sesame chicken. The breading was so thick one could hardly cut it with a plastic knife. Just horrible. Now I'm from out-of-town and I've ordered a good amount of sesame chicken in many places and it's NEVER been breaded. I'll admit, maybe this is the way they do Chinese food in the Northwest, but I won't be eating there again. read more

I recently tried the dinner combo with Mongolian beef, pork fried rice, soup, sweet n sour pork, and an egg roll (6/10) great price for 12.95 from door dash but everything tasted mediocre and I won't be getting that meal again when I can opt for the Lo Mein! The Mongolian beef had large slices of meat and I preferred my meat a little more fried. The sweet n sour pork was not that great and had a weird taste to it. The fried rice was subpar and nothing to write home about. Honestly the dinner meal reminded me of food sitting under heat lamps all day long compared to ordering an individual meal and having them make it right away. read more

Used google to find a Chinese restaurant close to my sons baseball facility and this restaurant popped up. Upon entering you notice this place has not been remodeled or updated in a long time. However, we didn't care. When we arrived we were greeted by who we assume is the owner. They didn't have a lot of people dining at the time. They have great food options. Today we called to make sure they were open as they were not the last time we went, even though the site said they were. Tonight we ordered a takeout dinner to surprise our 16 year old granddaughter. The food was not quite ready when I arrived to pick it up. When it was the woman at the front checked to ensure the items were there, so I did not pull everything out of the box it was packed in. I drove home, about a 25 minute drive tonight, and my wife unpacked the food while I drove to get our granddaughter. When I got home my wife informed me there was no fried rice in the box. I called the restaurant and got into a bit of an argument with the people on the telephone. One woman was conversing with another in a language, not English, and was very insistent to the point of arguing with me that the fried rice was under the chow mein. This went on for several minutes. The result of the argument was they would provide additional fried rice the next time we order. I asked that some sort of a confirmation be sent to us. The person whom I was speaking did not appear to understand this and I gave up as I was not willing to drive for an hour to get there and back in the rain. The remainder of the meal was good, except for the potstickers. They were somewhat dried out. A few of the prawns were also overcooked. All in all, a fairly good meal. Next time takeout? NOPE!
