    L15. Sichuan Pork Lunch Special.
    Pearl L.

I have ordered from China House through DoorDash and GrubHub a few times and have had no issues with them. Their portions for lunch specials for takeout is a great portion with choice of soup, rice (fried rice for an extra dollar) and entrée of your choice. I only ask that you be wary when you order something that has a lot of sauce as it can get a bit messy. As for dining in, I invited some girl friends out for girls' day for lunch here as I had positive experiences from take out so I figured I would see how going there and dining in would be like. Our server was extremely friendly and patient with us, also allowed our party to be seated even though a few of our members came in late due to traffic. He got us hot tea which was perfect for that rainy, cold day. Although our party arrived a little bit past their lunch time, our server was more than happy to let us order from the lunch menu as we had arrived before it ended so he would honor that for us which was extremely kind and sweet of him. We ordered sweet and sour shrimp, Mongolian Beef and Sichuan Pork. Each of us enjoyed our meals and soup as we were really hungry and half of us had leftovers to take for lunch tomorrow. Their chili oil is really good too, if you like a more spicy kick with your meal. The inside is very relaxing and not overly cluttered like in other Chinese restaurants. The space is pretty large with tables and chairs/booths that can fit any party size, small or large. Service was excellent and the food was satisfying. Overall, a great Chinese option in Auburn!

It's always fun to visit a new eatery. The place is open and clean enough. And decoration Was basic Chinese..though I loved their place mats under glass. We ordered kung pao chicken and because they were homemade, we also ordered pot stickers. The chicken came first... and it was good. Spicy. And had been made with frozen peas and carrots, and celery cut in the angle. The peanuts were raw peanuts.. and the flavor had a Smokey flavor like Smokey oil was used. It was good, just not your usual king pao. The pot stickers were huge.... Good filling, but the dough was thick and of completely cooked and extremely greasy. But good tasting. Two sauce jars were placed on the table---- they were fingered and not just a few fingers. All in all food was good. A little unconventional-and sometimes hat can be good. 3-4 stars from us.

TLDR/ Price: Okay, Food: Decent, Service: Okay, Ambiance: 90's throwback, Verdict: Eh...okay. The whole experience at China House was marginal. We had to wait to be seated, which was mostly the fault of a Karen who was ordering to go. However, when the hostess/waitress finally sat us at a booth, it was across from the booth they were using to maybe do their taxes or something? It just felt very haphazard and unprofessional. The decor was dated, I mean out of last century and not in a "fun-kitschy way", but in a "dingy-cluttered" way. The menu was filled with things but the combo dinners were not great pairings and they up-charged for fried rice without making it clear. Everything came out lukewarm except for the soup and tea. It's like they had it all sitting in back for a good few minutes after dishing it up before bringing it out, no bueno. We got a combo, and ended up buying two more entrees because we were unsure of the amount of food we would get. The combo was a good option, I just wish there were more combo options that didn't include shrimp, as I have an allergy. The server was not particularly attentive, but she did finally refill our waters and tea after we pointedly placed the empty pot, lid open at the edge of the table. The food was also under seasoned, from the cloyingly sweet "hot and sour" soup to the pork fried rice we were charged extra for, the whole meal lacked salt. The food wasn't bad, it just wasn't that good. Everything seemed to be made in house, but just because it was made from scratch does not make it good. I debated leaving the leftovers, but after paying over 100 dollars for our meal, I just couldn't bring myself to. Maybe it will be better, reheated in the air fryer and properly salted, but my hopes aren't high. If you are looking for Chinese food in Auburn, this might be the best option, but then again, there isn't many places to choose from. Do yourself a favor, drive a few extra miles and get something better or go here, but don't expect too much.

Love this place so much! The food quality is great and they always have fast service. Every staff member is always happy and kind. The portions are large and prices are fair. I like the restaurant booths as they are comfortable and the tables are nice and clean. Every time I am there, I see something new on the menu I want to try the next time! They also have combo dinners and unique combo entrees too! So yummy! Can't wait to go back and I was just there yesterday for my 2nd time.

The chicken is very delicious. You can taste the marinated meat. The beef is very tender. The waitress who serves is very enthusiastic.

This custom was preserved in Sweden and gradually evolved into the Smörgåsbord (Scandinavian cold buffet), which is the direct and continuous ancestor of the modern buffet. · France (18th-19th century): The French adopted the word "Buffet" (originally meaning a sideboard or serving table) to describe this self‑service style of dining and promoted it among high society. · Perfection in Japan: The modern buffet model we know today--featuring cold dishes, hot dishes, desserts, and a wide variety of options--was established by the Imperial Hotel Tokyo in 1958. · Las Vegas: The now‑popular "all‑you‑can‑eat" model originated in Las Vegas, USA, in the 1940s. Casinos offered cheap or even free buffets to keep gamblers on the premises, a strategy that quickly became widespread. · Introduction to China: The buffet was introduced to China in the 1930s, initially appearing only in foreign‑funded hotels. It was not until the late 1980s that it reached the general public through tourist joint‑venture hotels. Here's the English translation of your review: Ambience: This buffet restaurant seems to have been around for a long time. You can tell it was quite luxurious about 10 years ago. Relatively speaking, it's still fairly clean. Taste: There is a huge variety of options, covering dozens of items including Chinese stir-fried dishes, Western food, Japanese cuisine, teppanyaki, fruit, seafood, salad, as well as drinks and ice cream. I mainly tried the Chinese stir-fried dishes, boiled shrimp, and teppanyaki. Considering the price per person, I think every item met my expectations. Service - unexpectedly good: From asking how many people in our party at the entrance, to guiding us to a table and asking if the seat was comfortable, to explaining the dining process, and clearing plates during the meal - all of it was very good. Room for improvement: Some of the items are pre-made dishes that only need simple deep-frying or grilling. Pre-made dishes can be categorized into a few types: easy to cook, easy to eat, easy to heat. Based on my experience in the industry, the essence of pre-made dishes is really an issue of trust. If the selection is done properly and customers don't experience any adverse reactions after eating, then it's a good business.

That is no more. Sadly after going back recently I realized these are new owners and no longer the San Wok we are used to. The…read morefood was tasty and the guy that ran the place, we knew from the Golden Phoenix restaurants. I think he was either a nephew or son in law. He sold the place to the previous owner who rebranded as Sans Wok Express. When the place opened the flavor, price and portion were all unbelievable and unbeatable. For years this was the case, then the price would go up about 10% at least twice a year, then the portions got smaller and post covid, the flavor also suffered like they were cutting corners. They would skimp on sauces and dishes that were generous with protein because heavy with vegetables, so instead of Mongolian Beef, it was Mongolian Onion. Really nice people, but after my last visit, I said I most likely wouldn't be back because it just wasn't worth the money. Ironically, I gave them another chance today and was surprised. When I pulled into the lot I knew something was different as I saw someone sitting inside and the place had been takeout only since Covid. The décor was also modern and warm and when I didn't see the original chef or server, I assumed there was a new owner. The menu was exactly the same, but it was a new owner and she told me she had owned the place since New Years Day. So, it's obviously been more than a year since I decided not to come back. I had the Mongolian Beef and it was pretty good. I'm sure you would love it, but I actually like mine sugar free. That said, it wasn't as sweet as most places, so respect to the chef. The lunch combo was entree, rice and soup. No more spring roll. The hot and sour was ok, but it wasn't thickened and lacked chicken stock. The new owner is really nice and I'm hoping the business comes back. This place used to always be nearly full. I think after 4-5 years of take out only, people stopped coming here. Take out is great, but I prefer dine in. It hotter, fresher and I don't have any trash. Again, when you keep the same name as the previous business, there is no flag to the community that you changed the recipes and possibly have a better menu. Either way, come back, I think you'll be pleased.
