T-1 CHICKEN TERIYAKI
Pearl L.

We ordered here through DoorDash as they had a pretty good deal going on and my mom offered to buy us food since she injured herself and we were taking care of her. My mom got the spicy chicken teriyaki, my boyfriend got the chicken breast teriyaki and I got the regular chicken teriyaki. Food didn't take too long to receive and it was still hot despite coming all the way from Auburn. Their salad is different from the typical salads from teriyaki places as it is more traditionally Korean style salads as it consists mostly of cabbages with other slices of vegetables with a creamy sauce. The sauce is also not the traditionally one you get from teriyaki places but it is in my opinion way better. It had a good tangy taste with familiar tastes other teriyaki places and fit well with the rest of the salad. As a Korean, I prefer this salad as I hate getting salads from other teriyaki places and seeing wilted or old vegetables with my salad as it makes it not appetizing or makes you question if you should even eat it. I saw no issues with my salad. My mom asked for no burnt ends on her teriyaki and they seem to have done a decent job at doing so, but definitely could be better. I didn't ask for it but my teriyaki wasn't too bad, so I don't think I need to make it a note. They also are extremely generous with the portions as there was just meat rather than topping the meats on more rice which I appreciate. The teriyaki was good, not too sweet or flavorless and sticking well on the meats. I appreciate that they give you a sauce of teriyaki with each teriyaki order, including the spicy version. Definitely want to try out their Korean bowls which seem like a good variety of food for a reasonable price.

Probably been here 2-3 times to get some Chicken Teriyaki. Got some food to go today (6/04/24), and the chicken tasted a bit too charred and burnt. Not really sure what happened to the grill, but definitely not like the first 2 times. Rice and Salad tasted pretty good. Just wish the meat tasted better, though. Flavor was off. Ordered 2 T-1's.

TLDR/ Atmosphere: Peaceful, Price: Reasonable, Menu: Varied, Verdict: Try it out tonight! This place is nothing if not consistent. The staff are courteous and willing to answer questions. The food is reasonably priced and the menu is sizable. Holding up to its name, there are teriyaki and wok items galore. They have several tasty soup and appetizer options as well. I love that there are combo dinners and is usually weekly specials that are available for dine in or takeout customers. Overall I would recommend this restaurant to any lovers of Americanized Chinese food or teriyaki. This is the probably my favorite and arguably among the best that Auburn has to offer as far teriyaki and for those of us whose family has a love of variety, this one place hits the sweet spot.

Wouldn't say the S-2 was worth $16.99, but the teriyaki chicken was so tasty! The chicken yakisoba was garclicy but GOOOOOD. The lady at the front was very inviting and friendly. Will eat there again, just not any of the pricy combos ;)

I WAS CRAVING TERIYAKI so badly! And didn't really know any good spots around my area since me and my husband just moved here. So we were driving around and found this hidden gem! This place is so neat, organized & clean , once you step in you are immediately greeted by the owners THEY ARE SOOO are super friendly! Their menu is so simple and has great choices, combinations & OG teriyaki go tos! I made a to go order with 2 number T4 our favorite teriyaki orders spicy chicken teriyaki! They were fast , our order was done in 5-10 mins. So we got home and were pleasantly surprised lots of rice , lots of meat , spicy hot & good amount of salad wish they added more salad dressing for the salad but I'm not too worried about it, so far such a great experience I'm happy we stumbled upon here , Delicious order ! Will be back here again.

Customer service from the lady up front was really good. She was so sweet to us and my son and gave us chocolates and fortune cookies when we were done eating. My boyfriend ordered spicy beef teriyaki with katsu. And my son and I shared orange chicken and gyozas. Spicy beef & katsu was really good. I hate when you ask for spicy and they just throw a ton of hot sauce on top. Here they cooked the beef spicy and it was very savory and tender. Generous portions. And they serve brown rice. (A win for me) orange chicken was good too. I'll definitely be coming back here again!

Regarding the origin of the buffet, the most widely circulated theory is linked to the Viking…read morepirates of Northern Europe during the 8th to 11th centuries. · Nordic Viking Era (8th-11th century): To save trouble, the Vikings simply laid out food for everyone to take on their own. This custom was preserved in Sweden and gradually evolved into the Smörgåsbord (Scandinavian cold buffet), which is the direct and continuous ancestor of the modern buffet. · France (18th-19th century): The French adopted the word "Buffet" (originally meaning a sideboard or serving table) to describe this self‑service style of dining and promoted it among high society. · Perfection in Japan: The modern buffet model we know today--featuring cold dishes, hot dishes, desserts, and a wide variety of options--was established by the Imperial Hotel Tokyo in 1958. · Las Vegas: The now‑popular "all‑you‑can‑eat" model originated in Las Vegas, USA, in the 1940s. Casinos offered cheap or even free buffets to keep gamblers on the premises, a strategy that quickly became widespread. · Introduction to China: The buffet was introduced to China in the 1930s, initially appearing only in foreign‑funded hotels. It was not until the late 1980s that it reached the general public through tourist joint‑venture hotels. Here's the English translation of your review: Ambience: This buffet restaurant seems to have been around for a long time. You can tell it was quite luxurious about 10 years ago. Relatively speaking, it's still fairly clean. Taste: There is a huge variety of options, covering dozens of items including Chinese stir-fried dishes, Western food, Japanese cuisine, teppanyaki, fruit, seafood, salad, as well as drinks and ice cream. I mainly tried the Chinese stir-fried dishes, boiled shrimp, and teppanyaki. Considering the price per person, I think every item met my expectations. Service - unexpectedly good: From asking how many people in our party at the entrance, to guiding us to a table and asking if the seat was comfortable, to explaining the dining process, and clearing plates during the meal - all of it was very good. Room for improvement: Some of the items are pre-made dishes that only need simple deep-frying or grilling. Pre-made dishes can be categorized into a few types: easy to cook, easy to eat, easy to heat. Based on my experience in the industry, the essence of pre-made dishes is really an issue of trust. If the selection is done properly and customers don't experience any adverse reactions after eating, then it's a good business.

That is no more. Sadly after going back recently I realized these are new owners and no longer the San Wok we are used to. Food was decent, but I could tell the difference especially with the orange chicken which was always a hit. Food overall is good for chinese, but doesn't wow me like before. New improvements inside, the restaurant now has dine in, and new decor, but prices have an increased, and ultimately just feels like another chinese restaurant in the area.

I think he was either a nephew or son in law. He sold the place to the previous owner who rebranded as Sans Wok Express. When the place opened the flavor, price and portion were all unbelievable and unbeatable. For years this was the case, then the price would go up about 10% at least twice a year, then the portions got smaller and post covid, the flavor also suffered like they were cutting corners. They would skimp on sauces and dishes that were generous with protein because heavy with vegetables, so instead of Mongolian Beef, it was Mongolian Onion. Really nice people, but after my last visit, I said I most likely wouldn't be back because it just wasn't worth the money. Ironically, I gave them another chance today and was surprised. When I pulled into the lot I knew something was different as I saw someone sitting inside and the place had been takeout only since Covid. The décor was also modern and warm and when I didn't see the original chef or server, I assumed there was a new owner. The menu was exactly the same, but it was a new owner and she told me she had owned the place since New Years Day. So, it's obviously been more than a year since I decided not to come back. I had the Mongolian Beef and it was pretty good. I'm sure you would love it, but I actually like mine sugar free. That said, it wasn't as sweet as most places, so respect to the chef. The lunch combo was entree, rice and soup. No more spring roll. The hot and sour was ok, but it wasn't thickened and lacked chicken stock. The new owner is really nice and I'm hoping the business comes back. This place used to always be nearly full. I think after 4-5 years of take out only, people stopped coming here. Take out is great, but I prefer dine in. It hotter, fresher and I don't have any trash. Again, when you keep the same name as the previous business, there is no flag to the community that you changed the recipes and possibly have a better menu. Either way, come back, I think you'll be pleased.
