we moved to Phoenix Arizona in 2019 and I still get cravings for the Main Garden. undoubtedly the best Chinese food I have ever had. My favorite Chinese!! Owners are sweethearts and food is most excellent! We travel a half hour each way, even though there are plenty of Chinese restaurants near me. read more

food is not authentic at all and i paid $1.50 extra to upgrade my steamed rice to fried rice and they came in the smallest container i've seen in my life, probably 5 bites of rice for me mongolian beef was also very expensive and very americanized, not worth the money at all read more

My cousin is visiting me from Germany so we decided to go for Chinese food. The service was great and to only be outdone by the fabulous food. It was hot when it arrived at our table and tasted wonderful. The vegetables crisp and sauce was amazing. Highly recommend this hidden gem. It is tastefully decorated with painted scenes of different Chinese daily rural life. All of this made for a very enjoyable evening. read more

My best friend says this place has the best Chinese food she's ever had. Can't wait to try!!!!

Below the Panda Line Star rating a restaurant objectively, especially one where the food isn't very good can be challenging. I can say things like "The BBQ was still cold from being frozen and was tasteless". I can also say, the eggroll while large had "mushy" fillings including the cabbage. I can address the Chow Mein (chicken, veggies & noodles) as colorless, tasting more of being boiled than stir-fried. The Orange Chicken was sweet neon and had no depth of flavor. But the portion size and value proposition were good. And they were fast and it restaurant was attractive. So would I go back? No. It was subpar for Seattle Chinese. But I didn't get food poisoned either. So I'm left with star rating based on comparables. And thankfully Panda Express is both the definition of a "3 star" and was superior in taste, quality and value proposition. So I rate Main Garden 2 stars. read more

Despite positive reviews, I had several reservations about this place. First in foremost, for the decade I've lived in South King County, this place has had several names. None of the previous places impressed e, so I was skeptical of these reviews. The first thing I'll say is prices are pretty good. One thing, even about a mediocre meal is if you aren't charged too much, you can still say, I got what I paid for. The portion was also generous. That said, I did have some issues with my meal. Service here was really slow, there was more employees on the floor than there were tables in service, yet there was a level of confusion and we were served by at least 3 different people Service was also slow. It was close to 10 minutes before we got soup. The wonton broth was on the weak side, but the wonton itself was the best tasting wonton I've had in memory. When the food came, it was warm, not hot, warm. I like my stir fry to sizzle, and this again spoke to how slow service was. The food was hard to enjoy because it was just above room temp. I could tell the flavor was good and had it been served hot, this would be a different review. Not being able to enjoy the food, we just asked for a box. We'll see how well it heats up, but in the end, it as an overall fail. I honestly want to return to try out other dishes, but if I returned and had this service again, it would not be pretty. I really was put off by this experience. There were far too many employees for this place to be this slow and off track. read more

I've never heard of this place. I've done numerous searches for Chinese Food and they've never populated up. Today is St Patrick's Day. I had my heart set on shepherds pie and irish food all week. Got my green on also. But once I saw the line growing outside Harp I was quite unthrilled and easily lured away by some unfamiliar chinese restaurant with a bright open sign lit up. I ordered a tsing tao. Continuing my Irishness, it even came a green bottle. I ordered a #1 individual dinner. Be sure you get the dark and flavorful chow mein not the pale lo mein. The soup of the day was egg flower and surprisingly very good, not second rate at all. So far everything tastes great. I'll expand my details after I finish eating. Everything was perfect. Everything was hot off the pan. The right breading/batter, the right fry. The right sauce: sweetness, savor, and consistency. This place is a nice hidden gem. The server, Rachel, is very sweet and informative and very attentive. She keeps the cute little lounge running. I asked about how they prepare egg foo young. Yes they put celery and bean sprouts, the way it should be made. Im excited to come back and try it. read more

Main Garden - A picture of my left over #1 combo and bill. This is the cheapest meal and the best tasting meal so far in a week. - Chinese Near Me - Kent, Washington

I found this location when I moved. Main garden offers Good portions for the price. Convent for the location.

Admittedly, service was slow and everything took longer than I'd like, but the food was good, service es friendly, and the price point was just right. Egg roll, soup, pork fried rice, sweet & sour pork, plus general Tso's for $13. It was all really good and I ate more than I needed but still had enough to bring home leftovers. read more

I've only ordered take out and DoorDash delivery and have never dined in. This is THE place if you are craving Mongolian beef. I have searched high and low in the Seattle and surrounding areas and this is my top choice. The sauce on the Mongolian beef is perfectly flavored. The pieces of meat always tender with generous onion and green onion. They also serve it on a bed of crispy rice noodles (which I haven't seen at a Chinese restaurant in quite some time). I LOVE their Mongolian beef-5/5 rating The reason I give it a 4/5 is I feel their other entrees are more of a 3/5. I've also had their Kung pao chicken, salt and pepper shrimp, and another chicken dish and they were just average. read more

During this lockdown, we are ordering food for pickup or delivery two times a week to support local businesses. I decided to try this place out -- 4 stars... it can't be that bad, right!? Well, this is the worse American Chinese food I've ever had. Ugh! Safeway's Chinese food is better than this stuff. On top of that, I sent someone else to pick up my food for me and the restaurant forgot a menu item I ordered - the Sesame Beef. So I'm now out $12.95. The vegetable chow mein was very oily. The eggplant szechuan was too salty yet sweet. The General Tso's Chicken didn't even look or taste like its supposed to. I was very disappointed! Not one dish was appealing. To top it off, there was no foil lining in the styrofoam boxes and the food was extra hot so it kind of melted the container a bit and cause the sauces to leak all over the inside of the bag. It made a mess as the styrofoam container was quite soggy. I don't think I have ever given a review this bad before for any place but I don't recommend coming here! Go elsewhere! I don't know where the 5-stars for this place is coming from. I will never be back! read more

After craving Chinese food, I found this spot online and ordered off of their lunch special. We ordered beef chow mein and mongolian beef for around $16 total. Located in a strip mall, the parking was plenty and it wasn't very busy even though it was lunch time. When we came inside to pick up our order, we had to wait close to 7-8 minutes before being helped because the one employee there was tending to tables in the dining area. Food portions (yes I know it's a lunch special) was surprisingly small. Definitely not a gut busting meal like you would think when ordering Chinese food. The chow mein was so bland and it literally tasted and looked like it was boiled to death. There was no stir fry consistency and the only thing I can remember is the heavy amount of celery present in the dish. Mongolian beef was pretty good - tender with a good amount of veggies, still not near any of the good Mongolian beefs I've tasted from other establishments. Wish I liked this place better as it's reasonably priced and close by to where I live but it just didn't satisfy my chinese food needs! read more

Excellent food and fast service. Like similar restaurants, they're servings are more than enough satisfy those on a budget. my $14 order for sweet-and-sour chicken was enough to serve as lunch fi or 2-3 days. Good chow mien. Rice ok. Sweet and sour pork and chicken loose the breading, it was way to heavy. Gravy ok. Sweet and sour sauce needs to be more tart. Service was excellent and very friendly. Ambiance okay. read more

Just average. The potstickers had a real thick doughy wrapper. The dipping sauce was bland. Good hot tea, great pork fried rice. The chicken chow main was pretty good, but needed some crunch noodles. The sweet and sour pork and Almond fried chicken were both excellent. The Mongolian beef was just ok. I felt the egg flower soup was missing something as well. The BBQ pork was extra tender. Overall just a typical Chinese restaurant. Nothing was terrible but a few items were simply mediocre. read more

We actually live a mile from here but have never tried it. After reading all the great reviews, we decided to order takeout for dinner. We ordered the dinner combination #2 for 2 people and the crab rangoons for an appetizer. Can't even begin to tell you how good the food was. Everything tasted fresh, you could really taste the ingredients. Egg Roll was like the size of a small burrito, so flavorful. Enough food to probably feed 4 people and prices were reasonable. In addition to the food being excellent, it was also packaged very well with additional sauces included. When my fiancé walked in the door, he was a carrying a box that could feed an army of our food!! Also said the people working were very friendly as well. This is for sure our new go to Chinese food place. Sorry, no pics, couldn't wait to eat. Next time will post pics. read more

I'll preface by saying the staff was very polite and friendly...We ordered our food 7 hours ahead of time and it was not ready at the specified pick up time, 20+ minutes later it was ready (why even call ahead?). The shrimp was not cleaned well, so I couldn't eat any of the food we got; being that the majority were shrimp dishes. I was consoled by knowing I at least had pork fried rice - idk where the pork was but it was essentially just dry rice doused in soy sauce with no vegetables or meat insight. The wonton soup for 2 came in one 8oz container with only 2 wontons....I was excited to try this spot after rave reviews from a friend who is usually a great food critic, but I was definitely left wanting more (literally) and feeling like I'd just wasted a pretty penny on garbage. read more

Looking for chow mein with actual crispy noodles? This is the place! Their dinner combos are exactly the Americanized fare I grew up with in Eastern WA/Idaho. So I usually order the combo with fried almond chicken, BBQ pork fried rice, sweet & sour pork, and chicken chow mein with crispy noodles. Its a HUGE portion of food. Plan on splitting a combo, or having leftovers for a meal or two. Their almond chicken is without ground almonds but that's okay because the gravy is perfectly seasoned and the pieces are generously sized. Everything else in the combo is good, too. The inside of the restaurant looks cute and has a view of the golf course. But I've only gone in to pick up to-go orders and can't speak to the service. Will keep returning when we get a craving for Chinese! read more

This is an absolute hidden gem! Although it's a little hard to find, it is well worth it. The food is delicious! It was flavorful and was definitely the best Chinese food I have eaten in Washington State. The employees were all very nice and the food came out lightning quick! It is an authentic Chinese food experience. I would definitely recommend checking this place out! I know I will be going back soon! read more

This place was OK. The food wasn't bad. It just wasn't anything more than food. Recipes that we tried were fairly plain we had the almond chicken, honey, walnut chicken, peapods beef, and the barbecue pork fried rice. We also had a cup of wonton soup. The honey walnut chicken could've used more sauce to make it sweeter and more moist. The fried rice was all right, and the almond chicken had in my opinion a little fishy taste to it, as if it had been cooked in the same oil as fish, which I suppose is to be expected from an establishment such as this. The foods were bland, but not bad. Very basic just no pizzazz. I'm giving it a rating of three which is OK. The one negative I took away from this place was when you cashed out with credit card, and it came to the tip option, It showed percentages on the total of the bill, including tax. None should pay a tip on the money that the government collects. I usually rate one star lower for establishments that do this, but I was feeling nice and left them at a three star rating. Final thoughts, I probably would not come back read more

We took the family to Main Garden tonight to celebrate a 16th birthday. There were 7 of us. Service was very good and the food was some of the best Chinese we have had. Will definitely be back. read more

Beef Chow Fun is exceptional. The service is excellent. The chef asks how he is doing.

This place was recommended to us as we have been on the hunt for good Chinese food since moving to the south end. The BBQ pork, egg rolls were excellent. The soup had great flavor as well. The Mongolian beef had just enough spice for being a medium. The chow main though was extremely bland and had no flavor whatsoever. I noticed that they have a house chow me in so we will try that next time and see if it is better. It is in such an unusual location but worth the trip if you are looking for decent Chinese in the area. read more

Top notch Chinese Food! Our first visit here was as a part of a large group and knew the owner from his Puyallup location. The new location has ample parking and the business is clean and well maintained. All of the staff was VERY friendly and accommodating. Service was fast and cheerful all around. The bar is well stocked and drinks are very reasonably priced. We didn't get to browse the menu as our meal was pre-selected but I can vouch for the dishes that we tried. My personal benchmarks are the Sweet and Sour Prawns (tasty coating and delicious sauce) and the General Tso's Chicken (Best I've ever had)! The BBQ Pork was fantastic, very good quality meat and very moist. I liked the egg flower soup. The egg rolls were HUGE and packed with tasty goodness. The fried rice was made with fresh ingredients and quite good. The Mongolian beef had great flavor but a little more "bite" than I prefer (Will request mild next time). All of the other dishes that we sampled were tasty as well. We 're already planning our next visit! Can't wait to try the Honey Walnut Chicken/Prawns. Great experience, can't wait to go back! read more
