    California roll
    Trav H.

The server was super nice, my review has nothing really bad to say really, the price just didn't really reflect the value for me. The food was pretty run if the mill for a teryaki/sushi place. I'll never understand $10+ for a California roll but I had a hankering for one so that's that. The restaurant itself was very clean and I did enjoy the food but there really wasn't anything that stood out, which is fine, but $34 for teryaki, a Cali roll and a sprite isn't really appealing imo. Maybe I'm just a cheap-ass old man yelling at the clouds about "back in my day when teryaki was 4.99!"

Was craving sweet and sour chicken and saw this highly rated spot on Google reviews. They surely exceeded my expectations! The young lady who took my order was so kind and her and the chef were very accommodating for my order request. The food came out piping hot and so delicious, I'll let the photo speak for itself. The chef was so sweet and came out to check on how everything was tasting. The lady who took my order also checked in with me as well. I adore kind service and Wok and Roll definitely has that here! Such a lovely spot to get your Asian American fast food craving fix, tons of options on the menu u as well! The space is pristine as well. First time dining here and most definitely won't be my last!

    Tempura california roll

Stopped by this newish Kent teriyaki spot because we loved the fun name Wok & Roll and wanted to see how their teriyaki compared to the rest. Teriyaki is big business and very competitve even in this area when you got Bucks, Kings teriyaki, Tokyo Town, and Saya and Chopsticks just further down the street. We got the tempura california roll and teriyaki chicken. I do feel the prices here are higher than they should be BUT the food was very good and the young workers who welcomed us were friendly and welcoming. We will be back to try more menu items if in the area. Also liked the nice covered outdoor seating!

Good food, friendly service, clean and casual environment. My partner and I took our 7yr old to try out this new spot in Kent. We each got a little something to share to make this review. My kid got the kids meal. He devours the chicken in seconds flat (sadly not a fan of the noodles but, the chicken was the hero of that). Sushi was fresh and properly assembled. The Miso was HUGE and a great remedy for the morning blues. The spicy chicken was perfectly on point (and the spicy kicked into high gear after as leftovers were an inevitability). We will definitely going back to try the rest of this menu as there are several eye catching options.

I've eaten at several Asian places in the Kent area and I have to rank this at or near the bottom. Unfortunately I won't be going back.

That is no more. Sadly after going back recently I realized these are new owners and no longer the San Wok we are used to. Food was decent, but I could tell the difference especially with the orange chicken which was always a hit. Food overall is good for chinese, but doesn't wow me like before. New improvements inside, the restaurant now has dine in, and new decor, but prices have an increased, and ultimately just feels like another chinese restaurant in the area.

The…read morefood was tasty and the guy that ran the place, we knew from the Golden Phoenix restaurants. I think he was either a nephew or son in law. He sold the place to the previous owner who rebranded as Sans Wok Express. When the place opened the flavor, price and portion were all unbelievable and unbeatable. For years this was the case, then the price would go up about 10% at least twice a year, then the portions got smaller and post covid, the flavor also suffered like they were cutting corners. They would skimp on sauces and dishes that were generous with protein because heavy with vegetables, so instead of Mongolian Beef, it was Mongolian Onion. Really nice people, but after my last visit, I said I most likely wouldn't be back because it just wasn't worth the money. Ironically, I gave them another chance today and was surprised. When I pulled into the lot I knew something was different as I saw someone sitting inside and the place had been takeout only since Covid. The décor was also modern and warm and when I didn't see the original chef or server, I assumed there was a new owner. The menu was exactly the same, but it was a new owner and she told me she had owned the place since New Years Day. So, it's obviously been more than a year since I decided not to come back. I had the Mongolian Beef and it was pretty good. I'm sure you would love it, but I actually like mine sugar free. That said, it wasn't as sweet as most places, so respect to the chef. The lunch combo was entree, rice and soup. No more spring roll. The hot and sour was ok, but it wasn't thickened and lacked chicken stock. The new owner is really nice and I'm hoping the business comes back. This place used to always be nearly full. I think after 4-5 years of take out only, people stopped coming here. Take out is great, but I prefer dine in. It hotter, fresher and I don't have any trash. Again, when you keep the same name as the previous business, there is no flag to the community that you changed the recipes and possibly have a better menu. Either way, come back, I think you'll be pleased.

But they lose 3 stars from me because they use some kind of industrial strength cleaning chemical to wipe down the tables. Hard to enjoy your meal when all you can smell is the same chemical they use to mop the floors at QFC. If they are using a spray bottle to clean at the next table, you'll get a cloud of harsh cleaning chemical up your nostrils while you eat. I've had to rinse off and wiped down my own table with a napkin dampened with tea or water in order to enjoy my meal. When I mentioned this to staff, they were dismissive and haven't changed a thing in over a year when I first brought it to their attention. They should only be using something like quat sanitizer, that doesn't smell, to clean the tables. NOT something that is used for floors or bathrooms. and on a side note: if you decide to mop underneath another table while people are dining next to it, please say "excuse me" or just wait. Instead of almost hitting people in the head with a mop handle without saying a word. Also not great for a dining experience. I have worked in restaurants and F&B management. I know something about these things. You shouldn't use anything on a table for diners that you wouldn't use on a food preparation surface. How many times has a dumpling got away from you and bounced around on the table and you snag it and consume it, because you assume the table isn't being cleaned with floor cleaner? If you agree with me, please say something to the staff, and maybe they'll eventually listen. This is a real shame. The food quality is quite good. I might just do take-out from now on. There are other high quality Chinese and Asian dining options, that's the bright side of living in this area.

It's a casual spot with many seats. My sister and I came here at lunch time on a Thursday, and there were a lot of people in there, which is always a good sign to me. My sister and I shared the Crab Xiao Long Bao, Spicy shrimp wontons, beef braised noodle soup, and the Tianjin Style Chive and Egg Pancakes. I really liked everything we ordered. The crab xiao long bao was nice and soupy; the crab flavor is subtle but nice. What got me was the little crab carrot in the baos. The absolute cutest thing and a nice touch! The pancake was delicious. Very herbaceous and savory, the pancake was crispy and chewy at all the right places. The wontons weren't super spicy, but the flavors were good, and the wonton itself was tasty. The top dish for me, though, was the beef braised noodle soup. The handmade noodles were bouncy and perfectly chewy. The beef is definitely the star of this dish, being so freakin tender and flavorful! The bok choy added that freshness and crunch that complemented the soup really well. From the tender meat, the chewy noodles, and the bok choy, this soup is my absolute favorite item here so far. I'd like to try the spicy version next time. The staff were super friendly. The food came out fairly quickly after ordering, and everything was so hot and fresh! I'll definitely be back as I'd like to try the other items they offer.
