Probably the WORST Chinese restaurant in the Kent area!!! 0 service, 0 for being attentive to customers and 0 for basically lack of employees, servers and management. We decided to go get some lunch at 1:20 PM on Friday, 5/19/23. Got seated right away and were sitting there looking at the menu. Picked out what we wanted and were waiting for the waiter to come and pick up the paper for our Dim Sum order. Waited until 1:30 PM and nobody came to check on us. There was some Filipina woman occupying the only male server in the restaurant, trying to order some food to go. We did not see any other server at all, NOBODY else was present!!! Had to walk and wait until the guy was free to take our orders to dine in!!! Saw new people lined up at the door waiting to be seated, but left after a few minutes since nobody cared to seat them at a table!!! We waited and waited... And waited some more. Time got to 2:05 PM and saw people who had ordered before us receive their food from the only server in the restaurant. The guy kept going back to the kitchen and getting food, but never for our table. That was the last straw, we had had it!!! Waited for 40 minutes with lack of attention to our table, never received refills on water (had to get a new pitcher myself), never took our order (had to walk and give our food order paper to him), and never got our food. Simply walked out since we were tired of WAITING FOR NOTHING!!! Dunno where all of the workers were or if they forgot to hire any, but I highly don't recommend this lousy joint!!!!

When there's a long wait at Triumph Valley, you can count on Imperial Garden as there's barely a wait when we went on a Saturday morning. The restaurant is pretty spacious so it can fit a lot of people. Upon taking a seat, you will be handed a menu and can make your order there. The food and service was okay. We had the Peking duck and it wasn't bad at all, it wasn't like those buns but more of a crepe-like.

Service wasn't the best, we were seated at a very wet table , food was served to customers that came after us, and they forgot a couple of our items. The dim sum was okay nothing crazy, I probably wouldn't come here again. The soup was bland and the sticky rice had no flavor. The shrimp rice rolls were really good though. The scenery of the restaurant was like any other Chinese restaurant.

Food was ok. Nothing special about it. Serving was good at least. Biggest turn off was the bathroom. Smells soooo bad. They need to do something about that.

Service was okay. We went in the middle of the day and the food came out at a decent time. The shrimp rolls were really good The pork and shrimp dumplings were a little on the dry side. The flavors of football were good but the dough was a bit undercooked and not as crispy as I would have liked. Also had the soup dumpling, not pictured, but good flavors over all.

Mid-sized Chinese restaurant serving dimsum and Peking duck. It's located in the Great Wall Mall with the 99 Ranch Market. Went there for dimsum on a Saturday. Most of the restaurant was filled but we didn't have to wait for a table. They use ordering sheets for the dimsum (rather than traditional push cart style), and curiously all of their pens have a plastic spoon taped on. Dimsum was served pretty quickly. The chicken feet was good. Shumai, shrimp dumpling, ribs, and egg tarts were okay. The fried taro dumplings could be better, but that's one of the more difficult items to make well. We also ordered a eggplant dish, which ended up being deep fried egg plants with a lot of flour but not a whole lot of flavor. It did not taste good. Overall, most of the dimsum were okay, but I think the places in Seattle Chinatown are a little better. The bill was $50-ish, which isn't expensive. For really good dimsum, it's still worth the drive to go up to Vancouver.

Simple lunch w/my hubby on Saturday. Everything we ordered was good. I really liked their hot tea. They don't have the dim sum cart anymore so your order will take a little longer. We came early on a Saturday so we didn't wait to get seated but it got crowded after 11AM.

I think this is a decent place if you are craving dim sum and don't want to wait forever in Chinatown or Top Gun in Bellevue. There was fast service and they have taken the cart system away after quarantine. You check your list on paper and give it to the waiter. This gives me Vancouver vibes in terms of decor and that is more open and spacious. You don't feel like you are sitting cramped right next to the table next to you. I took my mom here and we made sure to get there before the rush around 11 and only waited for 10-15 mins to be sat down.

We came in as a party of four on a Saturday afternoon with no reservation. We were seated within 10 minutes. We loved their decor and their house tea! We enjoyed chatting and sipping our tea while we waited for our foods. My favorite dishes we enjoyed were the chive and shrimp dumplings, the calamari and the lotus rice. The medley of foods and flavors was delightful. I would come again!

Dim sum here is pretty solid and the price point is on par with other area restaurants ranging on average between $5-7 per item. Also ordered the Seafood Tofu Hotpot which was tasty. Will be back when in the area, overall a very good experience. They are known for their authentic Peking Duck experience which I will try next time. You need to call in to reserve the duck, and they suggest at least 1 day advance notice. Looking forward to dining here again to experience their traditional Chinese cuisine.

Food was great! Typical dimsum Place. Taste good and very filling. Services was OK. These ladies needs to be more friendly and attentive. Place was very open and there are many people since it was lunch time. We will be back again and try something else on the menu.

So for dim sum food, for me, is pretty standard across most dim sum places... as long as it hits that write note in taste, I would rank it fairly equal. I think the selection probably is more the important factor as in general dim sum restaurants rarely miss the mark on flavor profile. Imperial garden delivers that classic dim sum taste and I especially enjoyed the Mantou with the duck! Service was at standard. Nothing stellar but nothing below standard. The ambiance is also as expected of a dim sum restaurant. That typical food hall with dining cloth and round table.

I used to come here pre-covid and one of the things I love about dim sum is when the employees roll carts around and you can actually SEE what you are ordering/getting to eat. I would give this place 5 stars for the dine-in experience but today I decided to try take-out dim sum and it was one of the worst nightmares a foodie could encounter. I called in an order from the comfort of my home thinking what could possibly go wrong? The lady who answered my phone call couldn't speak fluent English (which I don't expect much), I was going off a menu on Yelp that wasn't even a year old (usually photos of menus are 3-5+ years old so I don't trust it for being up to date) however dim sum items don't change often but prices can. I had to repeat my order at least 3-4 times and I prayed that she got it correct. I mean, I read off THEIR menu which they should know right? I saw that they had honey garlic pork ribs specifically on the dim sum sheet (not the regular dinner menu) and think "oh nice! $7.75 for dim sum portion pork ribs" and the lady at first said there wasn't and then she said she can... (wait for it). Before I hang up, the lady tells me it will be $70+ and I'm thinking to myself... did I really order that much for 2 people?? Anyways, I haven't had dim sum in awhile so if there is leftovers, then that works for me! I get there and ask for the itemized receipt and I see first thing on the receipt "Honey Garlic Pork Ribs $17.99" and I'm like uhhhh excuse me? You quoted me "$70 something and my bill is almost $90??? I asked them to take it off because it's not we agreed to and of course knowing that they already made it, I normally hate to do it but they quoted me for the $7.75 and expect me to pay $17.99?? On a already steep bill? Eventually they bargained with me and said they would give me half for the $7.75 which I thought was an excellent idea. So my total was the original quoted price. I was still skeptical and wanted to take a look at my food before leaving the restaurant but I wanted to trust them enough that they made my order correctly. However one more thing that caught my eye was on the receipt it said "custard bun" and never in my life do I ever order anything custard related ... and I double checked with them, "this is the steamed, white, RED PORK bun?" And she reassured me it was. I'm sorry but I hate being that ONE PERSON who acts like a Karen in a restaurant but when it comes to food and I'm paying that much, I want to make sure I get what I paid got. We walk out, stop by across the street to run an errand, I check in the car because I can't get over the feeling they messed up my FAVORITE dim sum dish... and lo and behold... it's not what I thought it was. I drove across the street in a rage and stomped in (if you know me, I'm totally being dramatic right now), and showed them the picture of what I ordered... and they are like "oh the BBQ PORK BUN" and I'm like yes that's what I ordered. Asked them to remake what I paid for and I waited in the car. Ok, so now that I've finished eating and no longer hangry, I still believe their food deserves the 5 stars I would give it when I used to dine in but the take out experience I encountered today unfortunately resulted in a 2 star review. The food tasted great aside from a few things being cold after getting home which there's nothing we can do when it's take out only. Other than that, I was completely satisfied. Oh wait, one more side note that I remembered while posting the photo alongside this review. The lady I spoke with was very confused with whether they had garlic Chinese broccoli or not and said they didn't so I asked for with oyster sauce but she changed her mind and says, "you want garlic or oyster sauce?" And I'm like you said there was no garlic one... and she says yes there is so I ordered garlic of course.

Ask the Community - Imperial Garden Restaurant

How is the food being served now as of post pandemic? Do the staff bring the food to the table and push dim sum carts or do we order the food and grab it at the pick up station?…

We ate there a few months ago and no carts. You mark your selections on a paper menu and they bring the food to you.

We are coming from Olympia on a Thursday evening for dim sum. Do they offer dim sum all day every day?

    Nope

Do they serve dimsum all day? Or only in the morning/afternoon?

Yes, they serve dimsum all day, but it will take a little bit longer in the evening.
