Online it says no wait - when we get there they wait ten mins before telling us their server is behind and we would have to wait a bit. When we asked how long a bit is she said 40 mins. So yeah I'm bummed I didn't get to eat the food I wanted and bummed we wasted our time coming here and waiting at the front before they said anything. So this isn't a review about their food because that is great but just how they only had one server today during a busy time and we weren't able to get seated despite online saying there was no wait ... and then being told it's actually a 40 mins wait before the next server gets there. read more

Oh Asadero--everything here just hits. The food was incredible, especially the steak. It's clearly the star of the menu and definitely lived up to the hype. The cocktails were also really good and well-balanced. The cheese chorizo was good, the side chimichurri they gave us was so amazing as well hellooo. Their seasoned vegetable the time i went was broccolini and it's just so refreshing and good. I also loved the vibe of the restaurant. The low lighting and cozy atmosphere made it feel super chill and perfect for a relaxed night out. Our server was honestly so sweet and attentive. I wish I remembered his name, but he really made the experience better. At the end of the meal, he even offered us mint tea, which was actually kind of funny because I had ordered a mojito with no mint since I'm allergic--I just didn't mention it to him. So when he brought out mint tea later, I realized I totally forgot to tell him. Still, it was a really thoughtful gesture and he was genuinely very kind throughout the whole meal. So... I am hoping I just had a bad cut of steak. I have the ribeye and the flavor and cook was good, but theeat was very grissly and hard to chew through. The baked potato was pretty good. Nice service and food didn't take terribly long to come to the table. It was a bit smokey in the restaurant and I definitely smelled like a steakhouse afterwards. Our table aas a bit wobbly, too. My husband and I were disappointed in our ribeye steaks. It simply comes down maybe a low quality cut. The chefs cooked them perfectly medium rare. The char flavor was there. The loaded baked potato was good. The restaurant was pleasant and ambient with battery candles and ample seating. Our server was good, he was sweet and took good care of us, even got me another knife because I literally could not cut through my steak. The cut seemed to be a low grade. 95% of the steak was so grisly that I literally could not cut through it. The price was way too expensive, I could not justify the cost for the quality of meat being served. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing. Maybe we should have tried something else, but for the price im not sure I am willing to go back and take that risk. I am all about boasting about a great place and I really wanted this one to be on that list, but unfortunately I cant do that. We've been here so many times, and each time, save for our last time, has always been consistently good. The only drawbacks are the lack of reservation, seating area to wait, and how smokey it can get in there. Our last visit was....not great, to be honest. We were sat in a high table, nestled very closely to another couple, as the table is family style, so we ruined their space and they ruined ours. For the amount of plates this restaurant forces you to have, squeezing people into a tiny 2x2 corner isn't fun. We ordered what we always order, the carne asada plate and the papa. Don't bother ordering their horchata because that's gone. Why have a "Mexican" restaurant and take the horchata out is a business decision that they decided was a good idea. The carne asada quality, or perhaps the way they cooked it, was disappointing. Meat quality was tough, overly done and not the tender, juicy meat we've gotten in the past. The steak on the papa was good as it always is, though. Everything else was as it always is, but these two inconsistencies kind of bummed us out, plus the lack of space to have all of these dishes literally cramped our style. read more

Had to try this location after having the one in Ballard. This location is more spacious. I wish that you could make a reservation instead of having to come in and put your name on the wait list. Food was great! I enjoyed everything that we had gotten. I would skip on the queso though, as I wish that there was more to it than just cheese and it felt too heavy to eat after a few bites. Needed a lot more chorizo. I would get the guacamole over the queso easily. The lengua is a must get for us. It is so soft and tender, and the salsa verde that it came with is delicious and complements the lengua so well. There's not that many pieces of lengua, so a bit harder to share between two people. For our steak we opted for the Delmonico this time. A bigger and slightly thicker piece. As it comes on the hot plate, I would recommend getting any steak that you order rare. You can continue to cook the meat to your liking on the stone plate, though I think their rare is a little more cooked than other places I've been to. The steak comes with salt and two different sauces in addition to the salsas that the staff bring out to the table. I love that you are able to create different bites with all of the sauces, and each one elevates the steak in a different way. The steak itself already has a lot of flavor that it doesn't really need any sauces. I think eating it with the salt is the best as it enhances the flavors of the steak. I think the Delmonico was perfect to share between two people and a fair price as well. The service was excellent here (as it is in Ballard). I am not a big fan of how they do the seating in the middle row of the restaurant, where most of the two tops are, but that is a minor issue. The alone is 5 stars. I got the vacio steak it was made perfectly as I asked for medium rare. My only complaint was it was hard to cut when it was so thick it kind of row around as I was cutting it. It came with a chimmichuri sauce I asked for alittle more since it was mostly oil. The waitress brought it after I was 80% done she apologized and asked if I still wanted it. I know now why she asked me because when we got the check it was a 2.99 charge. Wow it would have been nice to let me know I kept it since she had it but it wasn't necessarily needed as I was almost done with my steak. The service was good I am not complaining but the have us extra salsa for free I asked for more sauce for my steak and it is extra... wow. The bone marrow was good but maybe not 14.99 good. I just had to try it. The rice that was the grandma recipe was okay I didn't find it anything special. I'll probably get another side next time. The cauliflower was delicious but the habanero sauce is quite a kick to it. Arachera was my favorite since we all took bites of each others. I would get that again. The steak was flavored really well. The green sauce with avocado has jalapeños which I am not able to try but I have a feeling the server really didn't know what was in it when I asked she told me it was Serrano. I told her I am highly allergic the kind my throat will close she check and told me that there is jalapeños. I am glad she checked for me. This place is super busy but I think it was an awesome meal. I ordered the La Carne Asada waygu and was not disappointed with the portion size or the flavor. Service was excellent too. Got on the waitlist through yelp on our way there. We had a very pleasant dinner here the other night with a couple from out of town. My husband is on the carnivore diet so I thought it worked out pretty well. The area outside and where you park didnt seem super safe but the inside looked fabulous and upscale. The mood inside was pleasant and the lights are dim. We ordered the Chuleta Ribeye and Delmonico 30oz NY bone in steak. They were cooked perfectly!! Of course! And they had 3 little fancy sauces on the side but the steak alone has so much flavor. My friend ordered the tacos and those looked so tasty as well but I didn't get to try them. We felt like the price was reasonable for a great steak. We will definitely be back for anniversary and birthday dinners. The service was great; we had no complaints. If you like steak, it's worth stopping by this spot. Look for the black sign with a gold cow. This place can fill up fast, so def recommended reservations! The only thing that sucks with this location is the parking. So be sure to give yourself plenty of time. Once you open the door, you'll be greeted by this hugeee Day of the Dead Statue where you check in, so you'll know youre in the right place. The restaurant itself isn't too big and its like 3 lines of a few tables. In the middle is the high top tables and the other sides are lower tables. So just be aware of that. Coz we got some shorties in the crew, and they struggle if we get sat in the high tops. Hahaha. Now for what you really care about, the food. My go to is the vacio wagyu that comes on a hot plate. And it def is hot, so don't touch! Thr vacio is a thickkk cut, but i prefer it better this way. They have other cuts that aren't thick if you're not into that. I recommend getting the steak rare if you're okay with this. And once you get your plate, you can move the steak to the side on the wood platter the hot plate comes on. And then cut the steak as you go and cook it more to your liking. Coz if you don't move it, then you'll get an extra crispy outside or burnt steak if you're not paying attention. Lol. And you can always ask for a new hot plate if needed, but the plate says hot for awhile I feel. It comes with coarse salt on the hot plate and they put rosemary on it. So if you don't want either, just let them know. And they give you a few different sauces like We always opt to get the papa loca, which is a huge baked potato with sliced wagyu asada, bacon, cheese, green onions, and sour cream. Def large enough to share and it's so good. (I don't eat pork, so I ask for the bacon on the side so whoever I'm with can eat it.) The other item that's on the table is the bone marrow. I myself don't eat it, but it disappears quite fast. Haha. It's usually two bones that comes with some kinda toasted bread. And if you have doggos, you can ask them to pack it to go. I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent dining experience at Asadero Prime's Kent, Washington location. I had a reservation for a party of three with a check-in time of 7:25 p.m on June 5th. We were seated promptly and placed our orders shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, what followed was an exceptionally long and frustrating wait for my meal. Throughout the delay, our server repeatedly explained that the issue was related to my Delmonico steak, stating that it was particularly thick and required additional cooking time. However, I had ordered the steak cooked medium, and this explanation became increasingly difficult to understand when the couple seated next to us, who ordered the same steak approximately five minutes before we ordered, received their meal, finished eating, and still I had not received mine. They even commented on the situation themselves and expressed hope that my meal would be comped due to the excessive delay. As time passed, it became apparent that nearly every table seated after us had received and completed their meals while I continued waiting. Even our server acknowledged the situation, stating words to the effect of, "I know everyone is getting their food but you. I haven't forgotten about you. I'm forcing the kitchen to hurry up." What was most disappointing was the complete absence of managerial involvement. The manager on duty walked past our table numerous times during the delay, yet never stopped to acknowledge the issue, apologize, provide an update, or attempt any form of service recovery. By the time my steak finally arrived, the experience had become so frustrating that I had lost my appetite and was unable to enjoy the meal. Afterward, we experienced another lengthy wait for our check. When the bill finally arrived, I was surprised to see that the delayed entrée had not been removed or discounted, nor had anyone spoken with us about the experience or asked how the situation could be made right. I understand that delays can occur in any restaurant. My concern is not simply that my food was delayed, but rather that there was no meaningful communication, no managerial engagement, and no effort to recover the experience despite the obvious service failure that affected my entire table. I would appreciate a response regarding this matter and an explanation of how the restaurant intends to address situations such as this in the future. I chose Asadero Prime expecting a premium dining experience, particularly for a birthday celebration, and unfortunately my experience fell far short of those expectations. read more

I came to Seattle to celebrate my nephew's graduation, and my sister picked this restaurant for our family dinner. Unfortunately, it didn't start on a great note. When we arrived, my nephew was clearly upset. Turns out, the restaurant refused to store his ice cream cake. My sister had informed them during the reservation that she would be bringing a cake and was told about the cake-cutting fee, but no one mentioned they wouldn't be able to store it. That would have been an important heads-up. I asked the manager directly, and while she confirmed they couldn't store the cake, what really stood out was her lack of flexibility or willingness to help. It's a special occasion, and a little hospitality would've gone a long way. As for the rest: * Ambiance: Just okay. * Food: The porterhouse steak was good, not great. * Drinks: Watered down. Asadero Prime was a classy experience, and the food was excellent. Read on further for the rest of my thoughts! The environment: The tables were packed closely and the lighting was dimmer and darker than I expected. It was very loud, however, since everything was packed together so closely. It gives off very rustic and elegant vibes, though! The service: The service was EXCEPTIONAL, which honestly is what you'd expect from a place with both high prices and rustic vibes. One of my orders was forgotten, but the waitress immediately apologized and had it fixed. The staff were all so kind, helpful, and absolutely exceptional. Bravo to the Asadero Prime team!! The food: First of all, when my party and I were served water, they offered fruit slices to put in it! Which was obviously a little fun and felt classy. (Did I immediately disgrace myself to dig the orange slice back out of my water to eat it? YES.) The food itself was absolutely delicious. They mostly specialize in steaks and other fancy things like that. The food is served hot and can be quite filling! You can tell it's good quality meat, not the fat-littered, tough meat with weird stretchy ligaments most places have nowadays. It is expensive, however, but it absolutely matches the quality of the food you're getting. Final thoughts: The food is amazing, and so are the employees. We decided to give this location a chance after our last experience in Ballard. I'm so glad we did! We walked in famished after some morning shopping. Another successful visit. We were on the road from Seattle to Tacoma and thought we would wait out the traffic and grab a meal from one of our favorite area restaurants. We called, and scored a table within the hour. That was lucky. They no longer have the outdoor patio, so sitting is indoor. We shared the 18oz ribeye, josper baked potato, and a Diet Coke. I've eaten here before and was excited to return while visiting from Arizona. The food was excellent, and the vibe was relaxed. But the service? Flat-out unacceptable. This was supposed to be a farewell dinner with three close friends who've generously hosted me. We arrived at 4 PM, sat by the window, and waited. Ten minutes later, another party of four sat beside us. They got their food before we even placed our order. Our waitress was slow, inattentive, and didn't seem to care. I asked to speak with the manager. After I explained what I was feeling, she said she'd "adjust the bill." The total came to $202. She knocked off $6. Six. I told her that was insulting. She stood her ground. I paid the bill and left a 10% tip-more than the service deserved. Let's be real. This experience felt like discrimination. I do recommend making a reservation, they are quite busy and since it's not a huge restaurant you may have to get on the wait list. Tried a few different items this time and everything was well seasoned and the homemade tortillas were delightful! I really like to see management being hands-on. She was everywhere, doing a little of everything to help her staff. Everyone around us seemed to be enjoying their meals as well! This was our first time. We received a gift card to come here and were excited because we saw good reviews. The atmosphere is really cool and welcoming. We started with the guacamole which was very nice and came with a few tostada chips and some toasted sourdough bread. We put some of the tomato salsa on it which tasted great. The steaks were so good and the wagyu tacos were so yummy. You will definitely be full after this meal. Service overall was good but I would not say great. It was our first time and nothing initially was explained to us very well. The person who brought us our steaks did a bit more but I felt for how great the meal was the service could have put it over the top and it did not. Second time here, first time was about 8 years ago and food was decent and more recent about 2 weeks ago. Food was so salty i couldnt eve eat it :(. Everybody's food at our table was salty unfortunately. For such high price I would love to enjoy what I'm eating w/o being overly salted. Vibes were off. We have been here several times over the recent years and this last time was a disappointment. I am surprised I hadn't reviewed them before because we have usually enjoyed coming here. This past visit, the waiter was just ok. If you are going to work in a place that has Spanish names on the menu, please learn to pronounce them! Probably the biggest issue we encountered was them being out of several items on the menu. Perhaps they had a supplier issue or missed delivery? But if you are steak house and it's a Friday (we were there by 6:00pm) one would think you wouldn't be out of meat. Both my husband and I were going to share the Asadero and the other couple we were with ordered the same. After a few minutes our waiter informed us that they only had enough left for one order. Our friends decided to choose something else. The waiter made a suggestion, which ended up costing our friends almost four-times as much. Of course, no mention when "substituting" the new selection of the drastic cost difference. Once everything arrived, we typically enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the meat on the Papas Loca was full of gristle and wasn't as good as I had remembered from previous trips. We started our meal with the Molletes and Queso Funded con Chorizo, which were both great and I would highly recommend trying, especially the cheese. She checked up on us to make sure we were ok a handful of times. We came a bit earlier than the usual dinner time so it was a little less busy than what dinner probably usually would be. The atmosphere is very pleasant. We appreciate and want to thank the staff for being accommodating to me and my service dog and even going as far as to ask if he would like some water . Probably the best service I have had in a long time anywhere. Note for future visitors. If you are coming in after 4PM it would be best to make a reservation unless you are okay waiting a bit. One of the nicest restaurants in Kent. However, at night, the location was not the safest; we parked in a side street. We had a bad first impression because the hostess was quite rude, there were lots of people crowded at the door, and it was very loud and smoky inside. We waited 10 minutes to be seated despite having a reservation, but once we were seated, it was smooth sailing and the food was very good. We had a wonderful, sweet and genuine waitress. They will ask if you want fruit in your water (orange, cucumber, lemon, etc). - Chuleta de Ribeye: incredibly flavorful, smoky and a massive portion! Get this, you won't regret it! - Vacio Wagyu: extremely tender and served rare on a sizzling stone with rosemary and salt so you can cook and season it to your preference. - Tuetanos: we were unsure why this is so highly recommended - it was shallow so there was less marrow than expected. The marrow was oily and rich but not divine. The bread was wonderful and would've been better if it was toasted. You can ask for more though! The presentation was superb. - Flan: perfect to finish off the meal. It was silky and denser than pudding. Our favorite was the chocolate, then traditional, then coconut. I was surprised by how active the experience of eating was. It was fun to build your own mouthfuls with sides of flour/corn tortillas and try the different sauces. The sauces were both a bit spicy and the green one was grassy and oily. One thing I could've done without was the Cotija cheese because it was lightly salty without much flavor. The star of the show was definitely the meat, but I've also heard great things about their baked potatoes!
