I definitely went overboard here but I was coming back from a Mt Rainier hike, so could you blame me? We came here at 5pm on Wed and there was no wait. Wait started probably around 6pm although there were still empty tables then. They provide garnishes for your water and also provide 4 salsas/accompaniments for your meal. I got the 16 oz ribeye served on hot stones. They cooked it slightly less than what you want, so for my medium rare, they cook it rare. It also comes with chimichurri and molacete(?) which has a more refreshing flavor. They season with rosemary and even light a branch on fire for more aroma. I tried a bite of my friend's filet mignon which was good, but my preferred cut is the ribeye or NY strip. We also shared the papa loca (worth it - so good) and the cauliflower (not as good, but I'm comparing it to a version made by Cuerno, a Mexican steakhouse in NY). I had a glass of the pinot noir and the garzon, and both were good, slightly tannic and 'juicy'. read more

I've gone here twice now and could not remember the name as the first time I tried it so I'm glad I came again! The first time I got the Wagyu tacos which were sooo good and I love the variety and flavor of the sauces. I loved how simple the taco Wagyu is as the meat is high quality For my second visit I got the Vacio Wagyu which came in a sizzling hot stone plate and it stayed hot for me to cook all of my Wagyu. It didn't really need the accompanied sauce but it was nice to have. I felt the large rock salt was a little bit nub and would make it too saucey but I found the rosemary a perfect combination with the Wagyu especially as one was cooking underneath. Excellent service as well - our server was attentive and timely. I've only gone here for lunch and we did not have to make a reservation as it was not too busy! read more

Asadero Prime - Vacio - Mexican Near Me - Kent, Washington

I'm not usually a huge fan of steakhouses, but Asadero Prime intrigued me with their distinctively Mexican influences. We decided to stop in for a Saturday lunch and knew we were in for a treat as soon as we pulled up as the smell of charred meat wafted through the vents outside. We arrived right when they opened and we were the first party through the door. Surprisingly, it didn't get very crowded at all through our meal - even at noon there were only three other parties. Service was stellar, especially since there weren't many customers to deal with. The waiter continuously checked in with us and we never wanted for anything. Shortly after being led to our table, the waiter brought over a fresh tray of garnishes for our water, including lime, lemon, orange, mint, and cucumber. What a great touch! We then got a flight of four salsa accompaniments. The first being a pickled onion, interestingly tasting kind of like ginger and soy sauce with a slight sweetness that compliments the vinegar base. The second was a typical pico de gallo mix, but with a totally different spice mixture. I'm not entirely sure what's in it, but it's more than just the typical salt. The third was a light and refreshing avocado based salsa, while the last was a sharp tangy and spicy salsa, light molasses in color, and flecked with black and white specks. A charred tomato base, perhaps? Papa Loca ($19.99) - Asadero prime provides a HUGE potato, one of the largest that I've ever seen. I'm wondering how they even source these - I've never seen anything this big at farmers markets or at grocery stores. Anyway, it's baked to absolute perfection. The skin-on exterior leaves a tiny crisp, but the interior is so soft and fluffy it almost feels like mashed potato in texture. The potato is served steaming hot and it's scored with two long knife strokes, allowing the cornucopia of toppings to penetrate into the depths of the starchy masterpiece. The toppings include some baked potato classics - the decadent sour cream, the melty, fatty blend of cheeses, and of course the meat - bacon and Wagyu carne asada. The carne asada is cut into little niblets. Rather than an entire steak as with the entrees, I believe they use off cuts and trimmings here, as I found the meat to be somewhat sinewy and fatty, making it hard to chew on. It has great char flavor though! (4.5/5) La Carne Asada ($35.99) - The dish first comes with a large pieces of thinly cut carne asada. It's cooked until well done, but is still tender and is great quality with all the gristly bits trimmed off. It's simple and flavorful but with one issue - it came to the table already lukewarm in temperature. For the proteins, there's also a small chorizo sausage. It's heavily spiced, soft and coarse, lacking emulsification, in texture. It falls apart easily when removed from the case. For the veggies, there's a slightly charred green chile with a spice that builds. It's mostly raw, only the skin is charred just a bit to be able to flake off. Similarly, there's a large green onion that lightly charred, crisp and fresh in spicy allium flavor. Finally, there's a chile relleno with a simple green chile cut in half and filled with broiled, melty cheese. Yum! The two side accompanies come in little cups. The first is a refried bean sauce which I disliked immensely. It's drippy, watery in texture and it tastes overwhelmingly of lard. I wouldn't be surprised if it were at least 50% lard. The second cup is a salsa that looks somewhat similar to the fourth salsa in the flight but tastes completely different. It's smoky and mild with a fire roasted tomato base. An order also comes with four tortillas, with a choice of either corn or flour. The corn tortillas are hand made in house while the flour ones are purchased. It's obvious which one to go with. The corn tortillas are soft and easily foldable without breaking, fresh and spongy. They don't give enough for the amount of meat though! (4.5/5) Both dishes we ordered had some minor issues, but overall they were delicious. I can't say I go all the way down to Kent very often, but luckily Asadero has another location in Ballard I can visit if I ever get another craving for Mexican influenced steaks. The stone served Wagyu (Vacio or Zabuton) the 14 oz. American-cross Vacio (bavette) is the crowd favorite, thick, tender, intensely flavorful, and usually the best value among the Wagyu options. It arrives on a screaming-hot stone so it keeps cooking tableside. You control the final doneness by sliding pieces onto the wooden board. Ask for medium-rare and let it rest a minute on the stone if you like it closer to medium. The house salt, herb oil, and the full salsa spread (molcajete, avocado, pico, chimichurri, etc.) turn every bite into a different experience. We just love this place. We brought my son-in-law here from England and he was so impressed and happy with the steak he ordered. Try to order the bone marrow/Tuetanos as appetizer and the main dishes like la carne asada Wagyu, and steak frites, and El zabuton Wagyu, the best! read more

Last min decision to meet a friend for lunch after having a bad bad day. I have been here before a couple times and although I don't eat beef, I remember the food being excellent. Oh Asadero--everything here just hits. The food was incredible, especially the steak. It's clearly the star of the menu and definitely lived up to the hype. The cocktails were also really good and well-balanced. The cheese chorizo was good, the side chimichurri they gave us was so amazing as well hellooo. Their seasoned vegetable the time i went was broccolini and it's just so refreshing and good. I also loved the vibe of the restaurant. The low lighting and cozy atmosphere made it feel super chill and perfect for a relaxed night out. Our server was honestly so sweet and attentive. I wish I remembered his name, but he really made the experience better. At the end of the meal, he even offered us mint tea, which was actually kind of funny because I had ordered a mojito with no mint since I'm allergic--I just didn't mention it to him. So when he brought out mint tea later, I realized I totally forgot to tell him. Still, it was a really thoughtful gesture and he was genuinely very kind throughout the whole meal. Overall, great food, great drinks, and really warm service. Would definitely come back. read more

So... I am hoping I just had a bad cut of steak. I have the ribeye and the flavor and cook was good, but theeat was very grissly and hard to chew through. The baked potato was pretty good. Nice service and food didn't take terribly long to come to the table. It was a bit smokey in the restaurant and I definitely smelled like a steakhouse afterwards. Our table aas a bit wobbly, too. Would I come back... meh probably not. The food was a bit overpriced for what I got. read more

My husband and I were disappointed in our ribeye steaks. It simply comes down maybe a low quality cut. The chefs cooked them perfectly medium rare. The char flavor was there. The loaded baked potato was good. The restaurant was pleasant and ambient with battery candles and ample seating. Our server was good, he was sweet and took good care of us, even got me another knife because I literally could not cut through my steak. The cut seemed to be a low grade. 95% of the steak was so grisly that I literally could not cut through it. The price was way too expensive, I could not justify the cost for the quality of meat being served. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing. Maybe we should have tried something else, but for the price im not sure I am willing to go back and take that risk. I am all about boasting about a great place and I really wanted this one to be on that list, but unfortunately I cant do that. I wanted to give a 1-star but felt it wasnt fair because everything was good, including the cook, it was just the piece of meat. Maybe a batch that was not up to par. Nonetheless, I cant recommend this place. read more

We've been here so many times, and each time, save for our last time, has always been consistently good. The only drawbacks are the lack of reservation, seating area to wait, and how smokey it can get in there. Our last visit was....not great, to be honest. We were sat in a high table, nestled very closely to another couple, as the table is family style, so we ruined their space and they ruined ours. For the amount of plates this restaurant forces you to have, squeezing people into a tiny 2x2 corner isn't fun. We ordered what we always order, the carne asada plate and the papa. Don't bother ordering their horchata because that's gone. Why have a "Mexican" restaurant and take the horchata out is a business decision that they decided was a good idea. The carne asada quality, or perhaps the way they cooked it, was disappointing. Meat quality was tough, overly done and not the tender, juicy meat we've gotten in the past. The steak on the papa was good as it always is, though. Everything else was as it always is, but these two inconsistencies kind of bummed us out, plus the lack of space to have all of these dishes literally cramped our style. read more

I've come here before and have had the best time but today was left bummed out. Online it says no wait - when we get there they wait ten mins before telling us their server is behind and we would have to wait a bit. When we asked how long a bit is she said 40 mins. So yeah I'm bummed I didn't get to eat the food I wanted and bummed we wasted our time coming here and waiting at the front before they said anything. So this isn't a review about their food because that is great but just how they only had one server today during a busy time and we weren't able to get seated despite online saying there was no wait ... and then being told it's actually a 40 mins wait before the next server gets there. read more

Ambiance was great, food delish. I think for as popular they could expand the space for more seating

Food was delicious, service was great, ambiance was very good. The steak I had was flavorful and tender. The baked potato was a meal by itself. We got the one with the Carne Asada on top. It was more than enough for two people. We bought two so we had enough to take home and eat on for a couple days. read more

We came in between lunch and dinner and it was a little different. There was a limited car but we did get dinner. It was quieter with less staff, but it was a bit quieter and it's all about the meat anyways. read more

Had to try this location after having the one in Ballard. This location is more spacious. I wish that you could make a reservation instead of having to come in and put your name on the wait list. Food was great! I enjoyed everything that we had gotten. I would skip on the queso though, as I wish that there was more to it than just cheese and it felt too heavy to eat after a few bites. Needed a lot more chorizo. I would get the guacamole over the queso easily. The lengua is a must get for us. It is so soft and tender, and the salsa verde that it came with is delicious and complements the lengua so well. There's not that many pieces of lengua, so a bit harder to share between two people. For our steak we opted for the Delmonico this time. A bigger and slightly thicker piece. As it comes on the hot plate, I would recommend getting any steak that you order rare. You can continue to cook the meat to your liking on the stone plate, though I think their rare is a little more cooked than other places I've been to. The steak comes with salt and two different sauces in addition to the salsas that the staff bring out to the table. I love that you are able to create different bites with all of the sauces, and each one elevates the steak in a different way. The steak itself already has a lot of flavor that it doesn't really need any sauces. I think eating it with the salt is the best as it enhances the flavors of the steak. I think the Delmonico was perfect to share between two people and a fair price as well. The service was excellent here (as it is in Ballard). I am not a big fan of how they do the seating in the middle row of the restaurant, where most of the two tops are, but that is a minor issue. The parking area is a little sus but knowing that everyone parks there makes it better. read more

We had a very pleasant dinner here the other night with a couple from out of town. My husband is on the carnivore diet so I thought it worked out pretty well. The area outside and where you park didnt seem super safe but the inside looked fabulous and upscale. The mood inside was pleasant and the lights are dim. We ordered the Chuleta Ribeye and Delmonico 30oz NY bone in steak. They were cooked perfectly!! Of course! And they had 3 little fancy sauces on the side but the steak alone has so much flavor. My friend ordered the tacos and those looked so tasty as well but I didn't get to try them. We felt like the price was reasonable for a great steak. We will definitely be back for anniversary and birthday dinners. The service was great; we had no complaints. Bonus we got a same day reservation here at our preferred time because we called a couple hours ahead. But it was a weekday. read more

For a steakhouse, the service was really slow and lacked attention to detail. We even had to ask for ICE for our water that was served in a dirty flask. To top it off all sides are extra, including bread.. Pricing is extremely high. read more

The alone is 5 stars. I got the vacio steak it was made perfectly as I asked for medium rare. My only complaint was it was hard to cut when it was so thick it kind of row around as I was cutting it. It came with a chimmichuri sauce I asked for alittle more since it was mostly oil. The waitress brought it after I was 80% done she apologized and asked if I still wanted it. I know now why she asked me because when we got the check it was a 2.99 charge. Wow it would have been nice to let me know I kept it since she had it but it wasn't necessarily needed as I was almost done with my steak. The service was good I am not complaining but the have us extra salsa for free I asked for more sauce for my steak and it is extra... wow. The bone marrow was good but maybe not 14.99 good. I just had to try it. The rice that was the grandma recipe was okay I didn't find it anything special. I'll probably get another side next time. The cauliflower was delicious but the habanero sauce is quite a kick to it. Arachera was my favorite since we all took bites of each others. I would get that again. The steak was flavored really well. The green sauce with avocado has jalapeños which I am not able to try but I have a feeling the server really didn't know what was in it when I asked she told me it was Serrano. I told her I am highly allergic the kind my throat will close she check and told me that there is jalapeños. I am glad she checked for me. This place is super busy but I think it was an awesome meal. I will be back for sure. read more

If you like steak, it's worth stopping by this spot. Look for the black sign with a gold cow. This place can fill up fast, so def recommended reservations! The only thing that sucks with this location is the parking. So be sure to give yourself plenty of time. Once you open the door, you'll be greeted by this hugeee Day of the Dead Statue where you check in, so you'll know youre in the right place. The restaurant itself isn't too big and its like 3 lines of a few tables. In the middle is the high top tables and the other sides are lower tables. So just be aware of that. Coz we got some shorties in the crew, and they struggle if we get sat in the high tops. Hahaha. Now for what you really care about, the food. My go to is the vacio wagyu that comes on a hot plate. And it def is hot, so don't touch! Thr vacio is a thickkk cut, but i prefer it better this way. They have other cuts that aren't thick if you're not into that. I recommend getting the steak rare if you're okay with this. And once you get your plate, you can move the steak to the side on the wood platter the hot plate comes on. And then cut the steak as you go and cook it more to your liking. Coz if you don't move it, then you'll get an extra crispy outside or burnt steak if you're not paying attention. Lol. And you can always ask for a new hot plate if needed, but the plate says hot for awhile I feel. It comes with coarse salt on the hot plate and they put rosemary on it. So if you don't want either, just let them know. And they give you a few different sauces like We always opt to get the papa loca, which is a huge baked potato with sliced wagyu asada, bacon, cheese, green onions, and sour cream. Def large enough to share and it's so good. (I don't eat pork, so I ask for the bacon on the side so whoever I'm with can eat it.) The other item that's on the table is the bone marrow. I myself don't eat it, but it disappears quite fast. Haha. It's usually two bones that comes with some kinda toasted bread. And if you have doggos, you can ask them to pack it to go. Overall, a decent dining experience and pricing not too crazy for steak IMO! The staff is friendly and helpful if you're indecisive. read more

5* for the food. The steak was amazing. I'm deducting a star because they're so stingy with the chips! You order a side of guac and they give you 2 pieces of bread and 3 tostadas. I came to Seattle to celebrate my nephew's graduation, and my sister picked this restaurant for our family dinner. Unfortunately, it didn't start on a great note. When we arrived, my nephew was clearly upset. Turns out, the restaurant refused to store his ice cream cake. My sister had informed them during the reservation that she would be bringing a cake and was told about the cake-cutting fee, but no one mentioned they wouldn't be able to store it. That would have been an important heads-up. I asked the manager directly, and while she confirmed they couldn't store the cake, what really stood out was her lack of flexibility or willingness to help. It's a special occasion, and a little hospitality would've gone a long way. As for the rest: * Ambiance: Just okay. * Food: The porterhouse steak was good, not great. * Drinks: Watered down. I live in New York, so maybe my bar is higher--but still, they missed the mark. Would I go back? Probably not. Celebrations deserve thoughtful service, and this place just didn't deliver. read more

Asadero Prime was a classy experience, and the food was excellent. Read on further for the rest of my thoughts! The environment: The tables were packed closely and the lighting was dimmer and darker than I expected. It was very loud, however, since everything was packed together so closely. It gives off very rustic and elegant vibes, though! The service: The service was EXCEPTIONAL, which honestly is what you'd expect from a place with both high prices and rustic vibes. One of my orders was forgotten, but the waitress immediately apologized and had it fixed. The staff were all so kind, helpful, and absolutely exceptional. Bravo to the Asadero Prime team!! The food: First of all, when my party and I were served water, they offered fruit slices to put in it! Which was obviously a little fun and felt classy. (Did I immediately disgrace myself to dig the orange slice back out of my water to eat it? YES.) The food itself was absolutely delicious. They mostly specialize in steaks and other fancy things like that. The food is served hot and can be quite filling! You can tell it's good quality meat, not the fat-littered, tough meat with weird stretchy ligaments most places have nowadays. It is expensive, however, but it absolutely matches the quality of the food you're getting. Final thoughts: The food is amazing, and so are the employees. However, the tables packed together so closely and consequential noise does make it a little overwhelming. read more

I've eaten here before and was excited to return while visiting from Arizona. The food was excellent, and the vibe was relaxed. But the service? Flat-out unacceptable. This was supposed to be a farewell dinner with three close friends who've generously hosted me. We arrived at 4 PM, sat by the window, and waited. Ten minutes later, another party of four sat beside us. They got their food before we even placed our order. Our waitress was slow, inattentive, and didn't seem to care. I asked to speak with the manager. After I explained what I was feeling, she said she'd "adjust the bill." The total came to $202. She knocked off $6. Six. I told her that was insulting. She stood her ground. I paid the bill and left a 10% tip-more than the service deserved. Let's be real. This experience felt like discrimination.
