We drove on out to the Des Moines location as closest to our home. I really wanted those oyster shooters being advertised on Facebook. The dining area and bar was packed but found some spots and hob-nobbed with locals at the bar. Got a drink, oysters for wife and some shooters. The oysters in the shooter were as pictured, plump, tasty with some cocktail sauce - loved them. Was thinking of another round when found wife wasn't so happy with the sad dozen micro-oysters she was serviced. Somehow, I realized the second level resturant was serving better oysters similiar to what was being used in the oyster shooter and we relocated to top level of the resturant. What a difference, different menu, was a fine dining experience - just what we needed so stepped up to the next level. Another dozen oysters, a few more oyster shooters, another round of cocktails, watched the beautiful sunset, fantastic service from the staff, we were totally relaxed and amazingly happy. I came here with my family after someone mentioned about the three course for 35 deal. For me, I chose the sole almondine, chowder, and I forgot the dessert. The chowder was ok, my preference is usually something a bit thicker. The entree looked like it was defrosted and cooked in the microwave. The flavors were stale and watered down a lot. The shrimp came from another dish that someone at my table couldn't eat, but those shrimps looked so sad. The service was fine and they did their jobs - they were attentive and always served us with great hospitality. Again, I did not expect much from a course meal for that price but I probably wouldn't have it again. read more

My parents treated me to a birthday dinner in their neighborhood. We dined at 5pm to take advantage of the 3-course meal for $35. Definitely a good call. The restaurant has beautiful views of the water and the marina. Service wasn't particularly warm, but efficient. We wanted to take advantage of the rhubarb seasonal desserts, so appreciated the suggestion to take home the desserts from the price fixe menu. We didn't care for the rhubarb cocktails (much too sweet) but they were taken away without any comment and removed from the final bill. My parents love the chowder, and enjoyed it. I didn't care for the consistency. The shrimp cocktail was a fun retro flavor. Crispy celery, creamy sauce, and the shrimp was cooked well. We all ordered the sole almondine and substituted roasted potatoes for the rice. The potatoes were good, as was the accompanying asparagus. The fish was breaded, and topped with ground almonds which were warmed in butter. The bottom piece of fish was unfortunately soggy, and I prefer an almondine sauce when it's made with sliced almonds. It was a little flat tasting. But overall, the dish was good. The desserts were average. The sugar crust on my father's creme brûlée was too thick and flamed a little too hard. The slump was tasty, but the ratio of filling ro cake was unbalanced (too much cake). The cheesecake was a good texture and the rhubarb sauce was nicely tangy. Ate lunch mid-week, had Cioppino with Caesar salad and garlic toast. It was light which is just what I was after, if a tad salty but not inedible by a long shot. Hubby had 2 fish tacos with tortilla chips and salsa, started they were good and he'd order again, but he thought they could have had a bit more sauce and the tortillas w/salsa was a pretty tiny portion. Service was friendly and we were able to look out on the water without having to look through people even though we were not at a window table. I attended an event at Anthony's Homeport. The place is huge multi-level. The location is great, especially on a sunny day with the marina in its full glory and the waterfront setting is perfect. The decor is vintage and so is the food. The salad was ok, the salmon was good and the steak was decent. If you are looking for a good place for a palate reset, this is it. They have AYCE tempura battered shrimp Mondays for 30 bucks. Plus other specials almost every day. One standout is the service where the staff takes the time to check on you and make your experience memorable. And easy free parking with validation. What's not to love! read more

We live very close to this restaurant so it is always an easy choice. We took advantage of their 3-course halibut dinner as a result of an email. I am a big fan of Anthony's! The have several locations in the Northwest and usually have amazing waterfront views. They spend a little more on the inside decor and have huge windows that highlight the waterfront views. This location is no different. They also have the buying power to get good deals on fresh seafood. One must order when you come is the clam chowder - one of the best I've had. Today I had wild salmon tacos for lunch and my wife had the blackened rock port fish tacos and went with lettuce instead of tortillas. We had a wonderful lunch and will be back. read more

We go here often, its normally a great place to take out of town guests, but they have gotten very expensive and when we went last night to celebrate a birthday I felt as though I did not get a decent portion for the amount we paid. First of all the server made no offer of bread, so we didn't get any. Then I had my salad which came with the wrong dressing but could never get the attention of anyone to complain and then there was the main course. I ordered Ahi tuna which was a special and pricy at $48. What appeared was a large serving of rice, a few steamed green beans and two very small chunks of tuna. each piece was literally two bites. GOOD VIEW WHEN YOU CAN'T GET INTO WALLY'S - Des Moines has a few good seafood places, and Anthony's is definitely the classy take your date here for a special night option. The service is usually quite nice and if you can get a seat with a view, the marina is great to look at. The food itself is usually quite good but pretty pricey. We've had mixed experiences with a couple items, like the dungeness crab can be a little less than perfectly fresh depending on the season, but overall if you want to have a great experience with company and looking for a high end place where you can spend a bit of coin, Anthony's is a great choice. I am really surprised this place gets such low marks on Yelp! The low marks do not accurately reflect Anthony's and how wonderful it is! We had a such a great time at Anthony's! Anthony's made for the perfect date night. We made an early dinner reservation so we could be sure to order off the sunset menu. We were seated at a table by the window with an excellent view! It took a few minutes for a server to arrive, but once they did our server Patrick was excellent. We turned the 3 course into a 4 course by ordering a salad for $5. The food was wonderful! The clam chowder was excellent. The Caesar salad was great! The almond sole fish was so tender it fell off the fork! We each ordered a desert. The chocolate mousse was outstanding and so good! The crème brûlée was amazing too! Anthony's was really great! The menu is fresh & is based on the season. The sunset dinner is a great value & you can't beat the views! Outstanding view, impressive service and delicious food. The St Louis style ribs were fall off the bone amazing. The corn bread was very tasty and the complementary veggies were perfectly cooked. The steelhead salad was some of the best salmon I have eaten. Delicious and not at all fishy tasting. The shrimp cocktail was a container full of tiny shrimp. Different than others I have had. The wild Alaska lingcod delicious. Virgin minty pear drink was so refreshing!!! Loved it!! If you need dessert, you can't go wrong with the cherry buckle with ice cream on the warm crust. Amazing. Went to Anthony's last nite, after recommend from friends. Boo! Poor service for my son & I, after World Cup Soccer match. We were ignored. Didn't order alcohol, was that my problem? They didn't bring us any bread. Son's steak was overcooked, and dry. Server checked on us, just once. No drink refills. Had to wait over 10 min for server to clear plates, which we had pushed to the side, after eating. Server was giving great attention to the bigger groups. We won't be back. Server brought bill, with skew code, which made it easy for us to get out of there. Left a 5% tip on a $120 dinner bill. Normally I still tip 15-20 %. read more

Went to have a lunch celebration with my wife Teresa for Mother's day. Everything was fantastic! We both had the Clam Chowder and added fresh Oregon Bay Shrimp and needless to say it was fantastic, so creamy and smooth. Teresa had the silver Sound with rice pilaf in fresh asparagus. She said it was fantastic as well. Everything was brought to our table piping hot so fresh. Needless to say the ambiance The view is spectacular from the seconds story looking at the harbor and all the sailboats that I would have liked to been out on today. If I could say anything negative I would say. I wish they had offered a steak for lunch, but you can always ask for the dinner menu. We had lunch here on March 27. The atmosphere is great and the view is spectacular. I ordered the open-faced salmon sandwich but was brought salmon on rice with soggy vegetables. I brought this to the waiter's attention, but decided to go ahead and eat it as I was hungry and didn't feel like waiting for it to be corrected. This is the second time this has happened in the last 6 months. I wasn't offered an apology or any compensation which was really a poor display of service. I didn't want to make a big deal about it in front of my lunch date so I just let it go, but pretty disappointed to pay $28 for a dish I didn't even order! Probably won't be returning. read more

An experience that far exceeded our expectations. It started with a very warm, inviting welcome from Willie who made us feel more like we stepped into a family's home versus a business. Melissa was our waitress and she continued the warm, friendly kinship. She was very knowledgeable about the dishes, which resulted in our very delicious choices - crab & shrimp dip followed by the $35 3-course meal. We each had very fresh salads as our starter; sole with rice and asparagus as our entrees; and the tasty chocolate mousse for dessert. In addition to everything being perfectly prepared, the cost was amazingly great for the large portions. Leftovers for lunch today (yay!). Service throughout our dinner showed great team work at our table and surrounding tables. Melissa was our main star, but others checked in on us as well. Beautiful view! We visited for lunch. If you park in their lot they give you a pass to park for free. We ended up street parking since it wasn't busy on a Saturday morning. The upper part of the restaurant was open for lunch and we had a nice view of the water and marina area. They deliver warm sourdough bread and butter to your table. I go to this place all the time because it is halfway between where my friend lives and I live so it's a good spot to meet up. They just updated their menu, which was a nice change since there was more salad and appetizer options that looked healthier and less deep-fried. We had a wonderful server and the view is always spectacular. We had the tomato salad and a wild salmon salad, both of which were very good. I am giving only three stars because of the amount of fruit flies that were around our table during our meal. This type of restaurant really should not have an issue like that. We were swatting them away and it became quite distracting after a while. I hope they can get it cleaned up so that it feels up to par with the rest of the establishment. read more

We came out here to celebrate my birthday on one of our heat waves here in Seattle! The intention was to do the happy hour and although the menu looked great, we were super hungry and decided to go for the 3 course meal per person (for $33). We were happy we did! We had no reservations in place and were able to choose between sitting upstairs from below. When we got there , it was fairly early and it got busy by the time we left! Makes sense why, as the food was wonderful as were the views of the marina. Our waiter seemed to be having to cover a large amount of tables yet he made sure to check in on us often to make sure we were good. The prawns entree were cooked as promised and it was definitely tasty and seemed fresh, which was reassuring as they had such a nice range of seafood and options. The drinks were delicious too & seemed to highlight the seasons fruits, which were strawberries! I had the strawberry whiskey smash. It's been years since I've been to Anthony's (used to be a Friday night go to after work in the summer) and we only ended up here as Plan B for my mom's birthday. I live in North Central Washington now and decent restaurants are HARD TO COME BY. The one downfall of living in more peaceful environment. Anywhooooo - my Cioppino was excellent. The Cesar salad made my heart happy as the lettuce was in crisp bite size pieces!! My mom's crab and shrimp toast made her a ver happy birthday girl. And the price was REALISTIC!! I didn't feel like I'd just paid for the whole pot of cioppino in one swoop! So you can bet from now on our mother daughter lunches will be at Anthony's. Good job!! read more

I had made reservations, but I don't think they were necessary for a weekday meal. I noticed that they had closed off the downstairs dining room and were only operating on the second floor (accessible by elevator and stairs). We got the halibut fish & chips, pan-fried trout, strawberry rhubarb maitai, and a non-alcoholic pear mojito. The food was delicious, and drinks were alright (a bit sweet), but service was a little inattentive (probably less staff on a weekday), and there was no attention paid to it being a special occasion despite me stating so when making reservations. Certainly no complimentary cake, like at other similar restaurants. It's a nice place to warm up and have lunch after a boating day, or if you want a quiet local seafood meal. Anthony's posted on their Facebook that they are doing $50 all you can eat Dungeness crab on Dec. 3 + 10, so me and my dad juuuumped on making reservations. That's an insane deal! The location of this Anthony's is easy to get to, has ample parking space, and the view is beautiful, right along the water. We got to enjoy some sunset views which is always nice. Like I said, they posted about their all you can eat crab deal, so we already knew that's what we were getting. Note that if you go for this upcoming weekend (the 10th), the deal is ONLY good for dinner service which begins at 2pm at the Des Moines locations, and reservations are accepted. We were given the option of having our crab hot or cold, served alongside hot dipping butter as well as seasonal veggies and roasted potatoes. The potatoes and veggies were delicious, too. The first serving of crab was a great size, and when our waitress asked if we were ready for more, of course we said yes. They then brought a giant stack of legs that my dad and I conquered together and eventually tapped out once we finished that mountain of crab. The quality of the crab was delicious and my dad and I thought it was well worth the $50. They run this deal randomly from what I've seen, so who knows when the next time is - be sure to go for dinner on Dec. 10th for AYCE Dungeness Crab! read more

While Anthony's is an attractive waterfront restaurant, it left much to be desired in terms of our meals today. Three of us arrived at about 4 pm for à late lunch/early dinner. Two ordered steak and I ordered the sole. I'm not going into a lot of detail but both steaks were ordered medium rare and came out well done and my sole looked and tasted like it had been cooked much earlier and kept in a warmer. We will go back at another time of day because over the years this has not happened before. Our server was a very pleasant and efficient young man and the rhubarb lemonade was very tasty. read more

Partially covered in a light crispy batter. Comes with both tartar sauce and cocktail sauce for dipping. And the portion of oysters is huge. I love oysters, particularly pan friend or baked, and order them whenever they're offered where I'm dining. And I can honestly say without hesitation the pan fried oysters at Anthony's are hands down, second to none, the best! The chowder is delicious, thick and creamy. Crème brûlée for dessert...amazing! That deserves a whole 5 star review by itself. Highly recommend you try the pan fried oysters. You won't be disappointed. read more
