I haven't sat down to eat here since before covid. I have continued to get take out but it was nice to take a seat today even though it was busy when I went. I always enjoy their rolls. We got some edamame, a California roll, the Jackson roll and shrimp tempura. I didn't get it today but I enjoy their miso soup as well. Overall it was nice to sit and stare at all the business cards on the walls and enjoy a meal.

first timer - I didn't want to write this review. I wanted to gate keep. Sushi Maki is a tiny restaurant- seats 24 - I know. I counted. They have more items on the menu than seats. It's an extensive menu with a verity of rolls - named after cities - it's kind of cute - and they're all equally delicious. You can't go wrong with any one. Restaurant is clean, cute, well kept, ran by a sweet lady, and best of all a hole in the wall. Super fresh sushi and nigiri and amazing prices. Food is delicious, Miso soup is made with real Miso paste - make sure you get some. Service is, quick, efficient, nice, friendly staff

This is an excellent sushi restaurant with great food and service. I enjoyed all the rolls and nigiri that I tried.

I've gotten takeout from Sushi Maki multiple times, and it's so good that I drive from Seattle to Burien just for their sushi! This cute mom-and-pop shop in a plaza serves fresh sushi with generous portions, and the quality is always amazing. Plus, it's super affordable for what you get. Whether it's dine-in or to-go, they never disappoint. Totally worth the trip!

There aren't many Sushi restaurants in our area but this one is pretty good They also have a good beer and Saki collection Friendly service This was our first time and we will be back!

ALWAYS love sushi maki. Has not come close to any other Seattle sushi for me. I travel 30 minutes for this place!

This little sushi place was so delicious. The quality of the fish was really good. It was in such an unassuming location. Very simple but delicious! Will definitely come back several times during my trip! Very close to the airport too! Prices were very reasonable and staff were friendly.

My two rolls of sushi that I will eat later after getting soy sauce.

It was my first time going here today, and it will be my last. I ordered two rolls to go and came back in 10-15 minutes to pick them up. The lady just sets a box down on the counter with the wasabi/ginger and soy sauce container on top. I didn't realize it was the soy sauce at first, because it was the size of a thimble and half-full. I asked for a bag, and then the tough guy wearing a mask said from behind her, "bags are 10 cent." I said, "Ok, I can swing that." I asked if they wanted me to break a dollar or if I could do another transaction. The lady, who was actually intelligent, said not to worry about it. When I got home I realized that the thimble was in fact all of the soy sauce that they had provided for the entire consumption of my two rolls of sushi. I called the man back to tell him Thank You, and he laughed his little girly laugh. This place sucks as much as Seattle does, and they will get what they deserve doing business in this area.

We did 'family style' and ordered chicken karaage, gyoza, yakisoba and many sushi rolls to share among us. Lots of sushi choices. The food was amazing! Service was great. The atmosphere was chill. Music was playing but it was not so loud that you couldn't hear each other talk. We definitely would go back.

The table wait was minimal and totally acceptable. The room was simple (a good thing), and the restaurant's popularity made for a busy but relaxed atmosphere. Our greeter/server was efficient and polite. The sushi was surprising good! Perfectly cooked sushi-rice, and well proportioned topping of fish and other ingredients made for enjoyable bites. The sushi chefs are well trained and talented. Definitely recommend sampling their selections of sushi. You won't be disappointed. Five stars for this. Now for the grill part. Yakisoba is usually a grill item, as it's a stir-fried noodle dish, with it's distinctive Japanese flavor profile, and ingredients. Unfortunately, this was a miss. Though the soy-sauce coloring was correct, the flavor profile was not. The amount of beef in it was acceptable, but the other components were a miss. The only vegetable component was shaved-like slices of small zucchini which I could count with one hand. That seemed to treated more like a garnish, than a component of the dish. Had the grill-cook finished it with a drizzle of tonkatsu-sauce, it would've been closer to what was suggested on the menu. They should rename it "pan-fried beef-noodles" instead. Sure wasn't Beef Yakisoba. Other than that, table-side service was excellent, and the sushi was first rate. Just not the "yakisoba", cuz it wasn't. I will upgrade and edit this review if a few things are fixed.

Started off strong with the uni shot, which was really good, and the sashimi fresh, clean, and exactly what you want from a sushi spot. We also ordered the mushroom and pumpkin salad with spinach, which tasted great, but at $20, it felt a bit overpriced for what it was. The rolls, unfortunately, didn't live up to how they looked. Presentation was definitely there, but the flavor just didn't hit. On top of that, they were falling apart pretty easily when picked up with chopsticks, which made them a little frustrating to eat. Service was solid overall staff was attentive despite how busy it was but they did miss our hamachi kama, which was a bit of a letdown. A couple things to note: this place is cash only, and it gets very busy, so expect a bit of a wait. That said, the vibe is nice, and the design of the space is something I actually liked. Would I come back? Probably for sashimi and appetizers but I might skip the rolls next time.

The place is very small which makes sense since he only serve 1 group at a time. This might be my personal opinion but Because it's only one group, I hoped it would have been a little more interactive, like the chef could have explained his technique and skills while we were waiting or at least let us see what he was doing. We sat at the bar table but it was blocked by a counter so we couldn't see anything and he didn't talk and we had to wait around 15 minutes for our first dish. Foodwise: 10 piece nigiri --- love the different fishes that was available and all of them has their own distinct texture and flavor. My husband who loves nigiri said it was a fun experience. Scallop inari - scallop was cream and soft and smooth, I think the sweetness was a little overpowering though. Seabass crudo --- for how little there was of the fish itself, there was a lot of olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette. After finishing the fish, I was hoping to have some bread to eat more of the oil. Special maguro don--- I love this dish - the fish melts in your mouth, the rice went well with the fish and the wasabi was delicious. Price was also very reasonable for the quality of fish. Overall, it was a good experience, I definitely would recommend

There is free parking on the street and a few spots in the back of the building. My very good friend took me here on a whim because we were craving sushi one night, but didn't want to leave the area. The service is good, nothing over the top, but nothing that anyone should complain about. It has a intimate feel like the restaurants you would find in Japan, but individual tables. It's great for parties that are less than 4. For appetizers, I always get the seaweed salad, edamame, and karage, cant go wrong with these, they're hard to get wrong and will pop out pretty quickly. All delicious! For rolls, keep in mind that the specialty rolls are larger than your average. I recently tried the West Seattle Roll, mainly for the fact that we are in West Seattle and I was curious. It was good, very filling, I could only finish 4-5 pieces. Another roll, I would recommend is the spider roll, it's just what you would expect, but a larger than other places I've been to in the past. Overall, highly recommend, I would say call in ahead of time to see how busy it is because the limited seating, but well worth the wait and price. Kanpai!
