I was celebrating a birthday recently and had seen this place when I went to Frankie's pizza. It's right next-door and it looked like a pretty cool spot. After reading the reviews, I decided to come in on a Monday evening. Not very crowded that evening, we were able to get a nice both and take our time ordering. We enjoyed delicious miso soup before the meal. We ordered three rolls and a salad with crab meat. The salad was a very generous size and everything was delicious.The rolls featured fresh fish and were delicious. For dessert we enjoyed their Yuzu sherbet. The sushi here is GOOD! We found our new sushi spot in the area and cannot be happier. We did a to go order and got greeted immediately as I entered. Ambiance looks super cute in there, with a cherry blossom. We ordered the sushi deluxe, emerald wave roll, and a creamy scallop hand roll. This was for 2 people and it was more than enough. Fish tasted fresh, hand roll had a good amount of scallops and not overly stuffed with rice. Super cute restaurant. Located in a very busy strip mall parking was limited, but there are a few spots reserved for the restaurant right in front. We ordered take-away through their website. The interior is very nice if you plan to eat here. Their safety rating with King County at the time of this review is Excellent. I did not have a chance to eat any of the food we purchased. Others got to it and didn't share. (No worries, we had two large pizzas too) There was one comment about the gyoza usually being boiled or pan fried while here they are deep fried. Let me tell you about Nori Sushi, where the staff will IMMEDIATELY assure you that any similarity to Sumo Sushi's steady decline in business since they opened is "purely coincidental" and they're "definitely not running a calculated campaign of wasabi-based warfare." Upon entering (while watching a host hastily remove what is DEFINITELY NOT a voodoo doll of Sumo Sushi's mascot), you'll be greeted with "Welcome to Nori Sushi - and no, we didn't INTENTIONALLY price our dragon roll 50 cents cheaper than Sumo's." Their name tags include the suspicious disclaimer "Not Plotting Against Anyone, Especially Not Sumo Sushi™." The menu (which they swear wasn't designed to make Sumo's look outdated) comes with a manifesto about how they "just happened" to open across town with "coincidentally" better parking. Their rolls have the perfect amount of rice, not too much. I really enjoyed the tiger eye appetizer. It was crunchy and full of flavor. I recommend the mountain roll. Walking in this place, the decoration is looking high end. Many selection on the menu, price is not bad. I decided to order their Chirashi. I was really happy with the quality of the sashimi. The plate was setup pretty. Thick sliced, good quality. We also ordered the bento box with fried salmon, nice thick cut of salmons deep fried and chicken katsu. Katsu is a little dried but still very crispy. Plenty of food. It also comes with a few pieces of tempuras. The service was great. The waitress checked on us several times and refilled tea for us.
