It was our first time to try this restaurant today. The restaurant was small and cozy, but the food was delicious! We ordered Agadashi, Tamago nigiri, Pure Butterfly (scallops), MVP (salmon), and Dragon (eel) roll! They were all tasty! Service was excellent as well. They were all friendly and checked on us a few times. I knocked one star down because it although delicious, they were quite pricey. Hoping to be back next time to try the other rolls.

This was our second time here. My husband and I call it our hidden gem. The food is very delicious and they give you a lot. The first time we came we each had a sushi roll and a plate. That turned out to be way too much food for us. This time we had appetizers and a plate still too much food for me, but the right amount for my husband. The plate comes with miso soup, spring salad, macaroni salad, rice and choice of meat. Unless you order the Yakisoba, then your plate is filled with noodles and chicken or tofu. I had mine with tofu, it was nicely cooked. Our appetizer was crab wonton... this was very delish, I highly recommend this. Since we always show up before the rush. It's quiet. Tv is on low. The service is great. Everyone there is very friendly. Really worth a try.

The wontons were so crispy on the outside and creamy crab mix inside, plus the sauces really compliment it. We also ordered the fried Philadelphia roll, captain crunch roll, and the Vegas roll! All very delicious. Miso soup was good but a little over powering than usual.

My expectations were low but after my meal, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with my experience. Although the restaurant is small, the menu and specialty rolls are huge - they do offer outdoor dining too. Myself and two friends split the house boat, which was $140, and we didn't even finish it, but I was so impressed with the sushi cuts, the quality, and the display itself. A great date night idea would be to split the love boat - you just get a great mixture of sashimi, nigiri, and rolls. Service was so-so, but I also can acknowledge that they had teen servers. They're learning. It's nothing that would prevent me from coming back.

    Lunch special. California roll delish!

We live right by this place and often get takeout here. I highly recommend their chirashi bowl which costs about $25. In my opinion, the fish quality and thickness is very good for the price and it is a great portion size. This time we dined in and sat in their outdoor patio area. It was a bit intimate as we were very close to other tables, but it was nice to enjoy the summer evening. We ordered about 7 things. The servers were attentive, quick to grab our order and bring out plates, and refilled our waters at a timely place. Tempura was not my favorite (the coating was a bit heavy), but not bad. The sushi is comparable to other places at this price point and it hits the spot for a casual dinner!

As a local I'm disappointed to see how skimpy they've gotten with the fish in specialty rolls. There was barely any eel in the unagi roll, refer to the pic for a visual. I don't mind paying a premium for good sushi but this came with a high price just for rice and veggies. Rolls are also tiny compared to other sushi restaurants. Maybe it's because it was a take out order? Sad to say this is the last time I'll be visiting since there are other competitors in the area.

Wow. Great sushi! They have unique specialty sushi rolls at a good price range. The fish felt high quality and fresh. The rolls are presented beautifully and made well (they don't fall apart and aren't grossly oversized nor sadly undersized). I ate one roll and 1 cup of miso soup and was happily full. They have quite a variety of other sashimi, nigiri, appetizers, and bowls. They also serve a variety of sweet to dry sake, a few different beers, and some Japanese sodas. The roasted green tea is complimentary and free refills. That tea is soooo good. A somewhat smaller, more intimately sized restaurant but you can go there in casual clothes as we did. They had football playing on the TV when we were there and some fun Japanese and sports decorations in the wall. Fast, friendly service. Good food. Can't wait to come back for their crazy good deal lunch bentos.

    Spicy teriyaki chicken plate
    Lea S.

Really solid, cozy local sushi spot with lots of great specialty rolls to choose from. I was glad that there were a few seared options, which feels a little more elevated. I was impressed by their teriyaki - big portions, and surprisingly good macaroni side that i would have been willing to order as-is. Be aware that the spicy teriyaki chicken is truly spicy!

He ordered a specialty roll, a Hot Dream, which he really enjoyed. I was concerned that there would not be enough food for him but it was the perfect amount. I had the Chirashi bowl--high quality ingredients. We both agreed that this is a restaurant we would return to and that is my highest rating!

Service was great at first, though they didnt check in if we wanted to order more (we had gotten a few small plates to start but when we wanted more we couldnt find anyone and no one checked in). But towards closing they were pretty pushy about us finishing up and leaving (and verbally told us so) which I'm not used to experiencing (we weren't the only ones that were there late and hadnt been there too long).. and I'm not usually at restaurants til close (this was just a long overdue catchup) so it was kind of irritating that they were so pushy about it. We had gotten off work late and made plans but couldn't find many places open late, so we had to make do with the times available (everything pretty much closed by 830 or 9p), so it was a really rushed dinner and felt like that when they rushed us midway to hurry up. Otherwise, other than some rolls seeming a tad expensive, they were pretty good. Some were better than others, we tried about four of them. The fave dish though was the ika geso (fried squid) appetizer, the sauce was bomb. Would come back.

Besides, family was coming in at SeaTac and we recently moved back to the Renton/Kent/Tukwila area so with the use of GPS, they'd be able to find the restaurant. We met together at the same time. The restaurant has changed considerably. Previously the menu included Korean dishes, but with new management, Korean fare was removed from the menu, much to our surprise. The Kalbi/Bulgogi was excellent and we would order a Bento-style box meal which included the Korean specialties. Though somewhat disappointed, the new menu provided so many new sushi choices, we were distracted from the missing preparations. The Sushi/Sashimi platter was our first order, to give us more time to peruse the great looking menu. Our initial order arrived which appeared so enticing with the fresh (raw) portions of buttery salmon, tuna, Ahi, Nigiri and a California Roll. Excellent! Then came the Sweet Dreams & Sounder rolls and Ikura (2-pieces) and a Special Agent roll. Least I forget to mention Asahi bottled beer (regular & non-alcoholic) to round off the meal. Due to not having the Korean ingredients, only four stars this time. The ambiance of the restaurant seems to have changed over the years. There were perhaps 10-12 other diners whereas during our previous visits the restaurant would be crowded and bustling with a cacophony of voices discussing menu choices. It was 5:00PM on a Saturday evening and crowds were usually expected. Service was excellent, the waiter was patient and provided lots of information about the new ownership & menu. The sashimi was fresh & tasty and sushi rolls were expertly prepared. Sushi Today continues to be highly recommended if you're in the Renton area.
