    Lots of ice!

I love supporting local businesses. I went in to get some snacks. Grabbed frozen fries. I had to PICK through the ice to get my fries. Do not recommend getting these. Waste.

I hear the pizza is the best.

The pizza here is awesome. It's cheap, loaded with cheese, and you can call ahead. It's a small little market that you would never expect to have pizza at all. One star off because the parking is a little (lot) funky. But don't let that detour you. Go check out their pizza.

I never thought I'd write a review for a Ma & Pop's grocery mart. But here I am writing a review for their pizzas! Upon entering, there's a pizza creation corner, there you'll see sweet ladies making Foss' famous pizzas! They sell by the slice or call ahead and order a whole pizza to take home! Only comes in one size (large), starts at $8.99 for a cheese, $9.99 for a pepperoni and extra toppings cost extra $1.25. I read a few reviews about this mart making pizzas, so I had to try it out myself since I'm down the street from this store! Took a large pep home, and the fambam loves it! My 4-year old daughter who would only eat cheese pizzas, fell in love with Foss' pep peetz! The dough is fresh, thin, and slightly chewy, which I love! Pepperoni is delicious! Right amount of cheese, however, the sauce is a little on a sweeter side, which I don't really mind. Cuz it tastes yummers! Came during lunch rush so there was quite a line at the counter. The three ladies working behind counter seems nice and friendly. Definitely will come back to grab a pizza home when I'm too lazy to cook! Move over all the big name pizza chains in the area! You just got to try it for yourself, don't take my words for it...

Egg salad sandwich on sourdough bread

I've only come here for the sandwiches and they have always been fresh and delicious. They have different sandwich options available, including a vegetarian one and they have a variety of breads to choose from. Love the simplicity of their sandwiches - no over the top sauces or ingredients, and the seasonings are just right. The ladies behind the counter have always been friendly and make the sandwiches with care.

Love this place! Tahoma Tuna Sandwich on sourdough was perfect!

A few months ago I started working out of our new office located just across the street. I love this little grocery and deli store! I found it remarkable that most everyone who visited was known and greeted by name. As one who lived in Renton for many years it was like time travel back several decades. They make great pizza by the slice, wonderful sandwiches, and have a great snack and wine selection. Beer too, but I like wine! Plus regular essentials like milk, bread, meats, etc. Was wonderful to find a video online about them and realized I've been here many years before. As a kid on Sunday drives with my Grandpa and Grandma we'd stop by to say hello to the owners (circa late 50s early 60s). Awesome friendly service and heartwarming to see so many in the community think likewise. This place is usually pretty busy for all the same reasons I love this place.

Walking turkey on dark honey wheat

This place may look like a run down market but inside you will find a wonderful family and their awesome deli! You can buy your typical things that you might find inside a gas station here: chips, candy, drinks, etc. But if you're hungry, they offer a deli with made to order sandwiches, pizza and they even do coffee! I came here with my brother to get some lunch. They make your sandwiches to order and you can pick your bread: white, light wheat, dark honey wheat or sourdough and also your cheese: cheddar, American, provolone, swiss, and pepper jack. Getting extra veggies cost 50 cents, extra cheese is $1 and extra meat is $1.50. However, they are so generous with what they put in your sandwich that I don't think the extras are necessary. #1 Chicken Caesar. If you like chicken caesar salad, then you will love this. This is basically a salad into sandwich filling form but so much creamier and dreamier. They definitely do not skimp out on the filling here. You aren't going to find any dry pieces of chicken breast in this sandwich because they make sure that everything is creamy and moist. You can add lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles to this as well. Every bite is just packed with delicious flavor. Definite must try. #2 Walking Turkey. You can get the classic turkey sandwich with cheese or you can get it with cranberries and cream cheese (almost like Thanksgiving!). I decided to go with the classic kind and get mine with added avocado (50 cents) instead of putting mayo and mustard on mine. I chose swiss cheese and added the tomato, onion, lettuce and pickles. The dark honey wheat bread is definitely hearty and is such a good combiner for all the elements. There is a lot of turkey in the sandwich and the veggies are fresh. I love how the avocado was super green and creamy when they made my sandwich. Overall, good hearty sandwich. It's about $5 for the sandwich which could probably buy you a footlong from subway but there was definitely a home-y feel to this sandwich. It's comforting and all the ingredients feel fresh and natural. The family here are very nice and make sure your sandwich is made exactly how you want it. Definitely would come back if in the area again!

Stopped by to support a small business and curb my hunger pains.

However, there are times, you just want a bahn mi, or something quick to grab - a very Vietnamese thing. Where can you go? Enter, Renton Deli! Renton Deli, located in the Renton Highlands neighborhood, IS NOT a western/American deli. It is very much a Vietnamese deli with an all Vietnamese menu. There is no Pho to be had here. However, there are some quintessential Vietnamese grab and go classics that are here. Noodles (i.e. Bun) with sausages, Hum bao, and of course lots of Vietnamese style desserts. However, if a bahn mi is what you are looking for, look no further. There is pulled chicken, grilled pork and tofu available. Please be advised, this is not a fast process. You will be waiting at least 10-12 minutes for your sandwich. Longer if there is a line. But that's okay. Plan accordingly, as these sandwiches are made to order, and hot. Don't forget to grab some soda's in the case behind you to finish the experience. Add Renton Deli to your routine of great grab and go cuisine in our fair city of Renton.

Bonus: this spot is kosher! Potato Latkes (5/5): These latkes are thick boys and fried up so they're piping hot when they hit the table. Because of their size, you really get the contrast of the hard crunch on the outside with super fluffy potato inside. So good we immediately turned around and ordered more. Chocolate Babka (2/5): This was truly the only miss I've had here. Unfortunately, the babka just really dries out after it's been sliced, which is a shame because it's just gorgeous with generous swirls of chocolate inside. Reuben (5/5): I really thought their pastrami couldn't be beat, but the brisket is dare I say better? Just as tender and feels a bit less fatty, so it's a little more crushable. Tip: go for the seeded rye over the marbled rye; something about the marbled rye just falls apart a bit more with the juices of the meat, though it's still delicious! Black & White Cookies (4/5): I expected this to be cloyingly sweet, but this was actually scrumptious with some fresh lemon flavor in the cookie itself. Absolutely massive as well.

Do you happen to live in Washington and miss said pastrami sando? My friend, I have good news for you. Dingfelder's pastrami is a dead ringer for that sandwich: huge slices of melt-in-your-mouth pastrami, regular and half sour pickles, and all the other accoutrements you'd expect from a legit Jewish deli. This place doesn't screw around. If you want a great, hearty, flavor-packed sandwich, this is one of the best places to throw your money. But, as others have pointed out, it's no cheap date: expect to pay over $20 for one of those mighty pastrami sandwiches. This isn't Subway so you're not saving money by eating here, but after one bite of their pastrami you'll understand why you're paying so much. Quality isn't cheap. I'd say this place is tied with Tat's Deli for the best sandwiches in Seattle.
