Great concept. Looks clean. Decent looking food but my shiitake and roasted tofu broth bowl has zero flavor. Not the friendliest staff. Kind of fake nice. But the biggest issue is they are very cheap and strict with their portions. They need a lesson from chipotle. This was my 2nd visit here and I am so happy I came. This place makes me feel so good about myself. They offer really healthy choices. You can choose between a greens bowl, grain bowl, or broth bowl. Or you can pick whatever you like. The set up is like Chipotle, you walk in and they make the food to order. Your options are displayed right in front of you. When you first walk in line the menu is displayed along the wall, and again once you get to the counter to order. I had the Tuna poke bowl which was a grain bowl, but included: kale, cabbage, carrots, quinoa, almonds, ahi tuna, avocado, ginger, and some other healthy ingredients that I'm sure I'm forgetting. Anyway, it was so delicious! The dressing that comes on it is great, I wish I had a little extra on it. I didn't make any changes to my bowl. I was happy with all the ingredients. I LOVE CoreLife Eatery! I usually have a pleasant experience, but today seemed different. Seemed like I arrived during "PLAY TIME" for some of the workers. It was somewhat crowded and the young man making my order was pleasant and doing his job. Someone came up behind him and reached in the bowl he was making my salad in and GRABBED SOME OF THE KALE AND ROMAINE LETTUCE and threw it back...then kinda laughed. When he asked why she did that, she stated "That is too much!" Never did she make eye contact with ME after doing that. She continued on talking to him and joking about other things, then eventually walked away. At any rate, I ordered and paid for two large Cobb salads and they were significantly different in quantity of produce in the bowl. I'm disappointed. I don't know why anyone would try to correct an employee in that manner (in front of customers) AND THEN allow such a difference in size of the orders that were to be the exact same. I had the grilled chicken tortilla broth bowl - a tad salta, but good. I was originally going to order the shiitake mushroom and roasted tofu but my coworker told me it didn't really have a flavor. The food is good. Not great, but it is good. I've never had a bad food experience. Today we got a southwest chicken and purple rice wrap and a buffalo chicken bowl. However each time I've come in to pick up an order for myself, staff is super dismissive. I came in today and ordered for dine-in. I ordered a wrap. The woman behind the counter wasn't welcoming at all, and mentioned while making my wrap that she "hated wraps" under her breath, but we heard her. We got two water cups and the water from the fountain had a brown tinge to it and was WARM. The only thing dispensed from that fountain was water; there were no other drinks in the fountain to have "spilled over" and colored the water. There was old kitchen equipment in the lobby, I presume to be picked up at some point, but it was weird to see just sitting there. I ended up getting a swig's worth of mint green tea to follow my meal, but I probably will just visit sweet green down the street from now on. read more

Within just a matter of weeks this place has gone downhill considerably (I originally rated 5 star). Service has gone from excellent on my first visit to downright bad. First visit was amazing. Second visit was okay but order was incorrect and had to fix it (it happens). Third visit was bad enough to make me not want to return. Girl with tattoo on her neck screwed up both our orders and wasn't necissarily rude, but didn't seem to care. Chicken was undercooked and luckily I caught it before I ate it, red spots on interior of chicken (the manager did sub steak for it for me, but no apology). Very disappointed overall... must be a recent change of staff/turnover. Imagine Panera with less carbs. It feels big business but what you're eating is better and less processed. I feel like there could be more dressing to my salad (probably all the kale) but still one of the best salads I've had for a while. If you're getting the Roasted Tofu but you don't want the carrot chili dressing, the miso works just as well. I also shamelessly tried all of their lemonades which I totally recommend. CoreLife Eatery is an excellent place to stop for a healthy lunch! Meals are filling and flavorful. Possibly the most vegan/veggie friendly chain I've encountered in Indianapolis! The menu is very detailed and creating or editing the ingredients of your own bowl is easy while ordering, the employees even ask confirmation for every step of preparation. The selection of drinks is excellent-- I recommend the beet lemonade. In case you need to use the restroom, CoreLife Eatery has two very clean single person bathrooms! I only wish the location was somewhere more central with less traffic and that there were a few more parking spots. read more

The protein we picked was chicken, and we each got barely a full spoons-worth scoop? The dressings here are bitter and just a giant punch in the face of garlic. Garlic, onion and exotic organic twang. They didn't even offer light versions of the typical, like ranch or thousand island. Yeah, we get the vibe of the restaurant. But when your blue cheese makes my boyfriend have to spit it back out into a napkin? Come on. I am so happy that there is finally a healthy option in my area. I used to live in LA where you could get a healthy salad almost anywhere but here it is scarce, unfortunately. The menu is kind of overwhelming if you have no idea what you want, which I did not. I ended up getting the Tuna Poke Grain Bowl which I do recommend. The salad portions are quite large, I ended up taking half of it home with me. I also got two little falafels which were really good as well, small, but good. They have a huge selection of different lemonades that I did not try but it was a nice colorful presentation. Overall I highly recommend to anyone who wants a quick and healthy lunch or dinner options. On my first visit right after they opened, I met one of the owners so my experience started off very well. Since then, I've come back many, many times. The staff knows me as a regular and remember my favorite orders. They really are sweet here, especially the manager. I love sampling new items, such as new broths they bring out. People complain that the prices are high but you really get what you pay for. They cook fresh meat daily, make from-scratch bone broth (google the health benefits of this stuff!) daily, receive and chop fresh veggies daily, and even the dressings are made from scratch! My favorite meals include the tuna poke bowl with carrot chili vinaigrette (it's hard to find great tuna in Indiana and theirs doesn't disappoint), spicy ginger steak and rice noodle bowl (I add mushrooms, yummm), steak plate (that steak is SO tender!) with bleu cheese, etc. My only issue is that quantities can vary so nothing is ever exactly the same and occasionally veggies get mixed up, which can be alarming if you have an allergy. However, this place still deserves all 5 stars. Everything is gluten free unless you ask for a free slice of bread. Their variety of drinks, like the cayenne lemonade, are also fantastic. Ordered for lunch one day I got the chicken Caesar salad. Very good salad was a blend of greens not the typical romaine. Loved the chopped kale in it. They also had red grape tomatoes in it which was a welcomed surprise from your typical Caesar salad. The grilled chicken was very good and seasoned well. The dressing was perfect for a Caesar salad. Seriously, this place has everything, from noodle soups, to falafel, to tuna poke--there's so much to chose from. I've ordered one of the specialty grain bowls the last two times I've been, but tuna poke and the soups (once it finally starts to feel like October) are on my list! The juice selection is amazing too. Ever heard of cayenne raspberry lemonade? What about coconut water apple cider? Well, now you have. The environment is friendly and everyone is super welcoming (even when I'm indecisive and take forever to order because there are just too many tasty choices!)
