This is a review in 2 parts. 1) The soup was great. The lobster bisque was creamy and flavorful and it was a great relief from the colder temperature. Definitely recommend. 2) My panini was still cold in the middle. It didn't hurt as much because my sandwich was apples and ham but hitting something cold when you're expecting a hot sandwich is a bit of a curveball. I guess the chicken velvet soup is quite the thing, but I'm not feeling it. Just kind of a cheese sauce, heavy-flour gravy with hidden strands of chicken in it. Nothing really soupy about it. Roasted tomato beyond sour to just bitter. These are not very good soups for a soup store. Biggest issue is with the hot chocolate. $3.50 for a cup of water-based instant cocoa of the very worst sort. That's just malpractice. First sip taken after carrying it for seven minutes and still burned my mouth. Stupidly scalding hot. Wife and I confirmed once it did cool to be the worst thing we ever sipped from a cup. Craving soup on a cold day, my husband and I stopped by and got three large soups of the day to go. Two employees appeared to be arguing, not sure what that's about but it was uncomfortable. We were asked about crackers or bread to accompany each and selected bread. Our total was $29.40. Parking is tricky since it's just off monument circle so heads up when stopping by, especially on a busy downtown day. Upon getting home, we first tried the lobster bisque. It was okay but very thick, not much lobster, strong onion after taste. Next was the broccoli cheddar, but unfortunately it's just a thick soup, like nacho cheese, and had just one piece of broccoli in it that we had to take out and cut into bite-sized pieces, which took a sharp knife because the broccoli piece was so hard. There were a few wilted broccoli leaves but no other broccoli and no signs of any seasoning. Even after chopping the one piece up, this soup was not good and went right into the trash. Our final soup was the one with sausage, kale, potatoes, and Parmesan. This one was decent but the sausage fat was not drained so it separated and made the oily fat sit on top. One large piece of Parmesan that must have started on top sank to the bottom and was difficult to cut through. It was overall just a very oily soup. I'm not sure if we came on an off day if this "restaurant" simply doesn't put care and attention to detail into their food anymore, but this experience will have us never coming back. read more

After reading some recent social media posts about soup, I was definitely in the mood on a cold winter day. I stopped by this little spot right off the circle to grab a couple of containers to go. It's a very quaint and homey place with seating limited to a few chairs at a countertop area. It's decorated like a quirky library, which I thought was cute. They do offer all of their soups frozen to go, which is what I chose. The gal at the counter helping me was very kind and friendly, describing all their soups and telling me about her favorites. She even gave me a sample of the lobster bisque (yum!). I ended up ordering a larger container of the tomato bisque and a smaller lobster bisque. She did have to go get them from another area, as it seems the freezer is in a different location of the building. I was given the option to choose two portions of bread, as well for no extra charge. I thawed the tomato bisque for the next day and had it as a meal with one of the sizes of bread. It was delicious! Rich, hearty and cheesy...just as it was described. The larger size container held three large bowls of soup. I haven't tried the lobster bisque yet, but am hopeful it will also be delightful. A quaint shop in downtown Indianapolis. The concept of a soup flight is spectacular and I would recommend anyone to go here if you're stopping through. The soup flight is reasonably priced and they have a variety of soups that rotate out daily as they make their batches day of. I got the chili, tomato bisque and cheddar baked potato. All delicious and I don't think you can go wrong with any of the soups! The ladies who were working there are very friendly. Stopped by on a cold day while I was in the circle. The best thing this place offers is a soup flight! I'm a sucker for the possibility of trying more than one thing, so I was all for this. My flight included the chicken velvet, cheeseburger soup, and pumpkin chili. All were good, but I definitely preferred the chicken velvet over the other two. Pumpkin chili had a good flavor but was thinner than what I was expecting from a chili. The cheeseburger soup was good too, but I was definitely happy I had a smaller serving of it - it's a dense soup that can definitely put you to sleep. The chicken velvet was a new soup to me. I enjoyed the smooth texture and tang it had. I love soup season and look forward to trying more. read more

A near all soup downtown locale? Yes please! Upon checking into the hotel I found few Pho options but this came recommended as an alternate. This is my second time here and I had very little interaction my first visit so decided to come back...I got the same combo soup and a sandwich. The woman who took my order was loud and kept screaming my order at the guy at the cash register lol he looked annoyed. The person who checked me out at the register was very dry with no personality he really seemed like he didn't want to be at work today. My broccoli and cheddar soup was much more flavorful last visit and wasn't as thin as todays. The NYC pastrami was good I'd definitely order it again, but a half sandwich for $8.99 is expensive! My half of a sandwich and cup of soup was $18 on top of a tip I left. I try to pick local shops like this over places like Panera but for the price it should've came with the whole sandwich lol. Stopped in for the first time today. Had the soup trio's. I liked 3 of the 6. My favorite was the Italian Kale Parmesan the most. The homemade sausage was delicious. Second was Buffalo Chicken and last chicken noodle soup. Didn't like the chili, Lobster bisque and Chicken Velvet soup. They tasted heavy in corn starch and flour. Visiting Indy for the first time and stopped in here for lunch today. Wonderful people, atmosphere and food!! Finn was incredibly helpful and friendly. We shared a panini and a soup trio. Placed an order around 6:45 to 7pm. Restaurant is opened until 8pm. When driver arrived to pick up order it was cancelled. When I worked restaurants someone could walk in ten minutes before close and we still served them. They had plenty of time to service this order. Had a wonderful experience using Soupremacy frozen delivery. From checking out online to the text that our soup had been delivered. All of the soups were really yummy and all thawed really well. We just put ours in the fridge for a day or so and the I heated mine up in the microwave at work! For the delivery options they had soups, salads, bread, & cookies from what I remember. There is something for everyone because they have a LOT of options including gluten free, vegetarian, & keto I believe. Will definitely be ordering again and I love the convenience for delivery. Ordered chicken noodle soup for my three year old and the portion size for her was even too small. Pretty pathetic. Same with the bread. It was cut for a child. I called the store to see if I could change the bread for my sandwich. DoorDash doesn't give you the option to substitute. The lady that answered the phone was pretty rude. They had no bread left. She just kept going on about it. First, why doesn't the restaurant bake more bread to last throughout the day? People like bread with their soup. Second, she wouldn't substitute the bread for one sandwich because she said that I should have the option to change my bread on the site. They don't allow you to substitute on the app. That's why I called them. She just kept going on about them not having bread and she doesn't know what to do if they don't allow you to substitute. It's not that hard to substitute a bread for one sandwich for a bread they do have which was the panini bread. I don't think that would change the price much. I haven't even tried the food yet, but I'm not happy with their service at the moment. I'll see how the food is and edit this review. Hours later......... I had the pastrami on rye and a lobster bisque. The pastrami was good but they give like one slice of meat. This is no Katz's Deli. I would gladly pay more money to get more meat. For the price they charge you for barely a sandwich, it's highway robbery. The lobster bisque was delicious in my opinion. I wish there were some lobster pieces in there, but I guess you can't have everything. The flavor is good but yet again, they advertise a big bowl and it's just a small cup for a hefty price. I don't know if I'll order from them again. They don't have enough bread to last the day, which if it were my business, I'd make enough bread to last the whole day. I'd also get all new staff because with all the reviews about rude customer service , that can really kill a business. If your food is decent and you have great customer service, I'm sure people would give better reviews. But with crappy customer service, you can't forgive that. I was looking for a place in the area that had more than just two soups on their menu in this came up. At first, I was very excited by the past reviews. Upon walking in and being greeted I kind of got the feeling that maybe this place has lost its sparkle but I wasn't ready to give up on it yet. To begin It's not that the staff was rude but It just seemed like she really didn't want to be there. Her demeanor and lack of communication really made the first impression extremely lack luster. After we had made our selections they were served to us in small paper cups, even though we ordered the larges or these were the larges but definitely not worth the price. Plastic spoons and dirty tray. Honestly felt more like a cafeteria. You could tell that the pasta for the chicken noodle soup was old and dried up after being pulled from a separate pre cooked container and added to the broth and the broth itself had very little actual flavor. The second option we chose was a lobster bisque. I think it was a good idea, but it definitely missed the mark. Other than the bisque along with a few seasonings, you would never be able to tell that lobster was even involved. It was honestly kind of a letdown after reading the reviews. I always try to look for the small hole in the walls that could sometimes surprise you. But as much as I wanted it to be, this was not one of them. read more

Yum - it was so good I should have ordered the full size! I ordered delivery and it was delivered 15 minutes after the estimated delivery time so that's not too bad and my soup was still warm! I used to be a frequent visitor in person of this soup shop when I worked downtown and could talk about how much I enjoyed going here at that time (I miss you Buffalo Nickel and the focaccia bread). But I haven't worked downtown in about 3 years so I want to spend the main part of my review focusing on my experience with Small Batch Soup since they added delivery as a pivot during the pandemic. They do frozen soup delivery to the donut counties, the counties surrounding Marion and let me tell you, it is the BEST. There is such a wide variety of soups available and it is a super easy dinner option on busy evenings. The soups come in different size options so you can choose whta works best for you and your family. They are delicious and you're supporting a local biz, win win! I haven't had a bad soup but my all time favorite is still their chicken velvet, start there if you're not sure! They even have a selection of bread and a couple of cookie dough option. They also have a family meal deal that they will deliver which is soup, salad and bread and the salads are great too! I am grateful to them that they were such a delicious delivery option when everything was shut down and I am glad I am still able to support them even though I do not work next door anymore. read more

Easy- Velvet Chicken. It's creamy, steamy, and nourishing. It's truly one of the best soups I've ever had. Word on the street is that Chicken Noodle is amazing as well. Next up on my list to order from here? The Zucchini oatmeal cookies and breakfast omelette. YUM. It's a little shop with wood-paneled walls and picture of old celebrities with their favorite types of soup written across the photos (love it). Goodness, this review is embarrassingly overdue. Let me just start off by saying, if there were an award for businesses who have been especially resilient and creative during COVID, I would award Soupremacy. This year has thrown all businesses an abundance of challenges but especially those located in the heart of the city where tourists and downtown employees used to pour in each day. In the midst of this crazy year, they've created Circle if Lights at Home meal packages, frozen soup deliveries throughout central Indiana and added curbside pickup. Let me add that the curbside pickup worked so well! I also recently discovered the Italian Kale Parmesan soup filled with hearty Italian sausage, chunky potatoes, fresh kale and sliced garlic. I hate leaving reviews like this but I feel it has to be said. I've see a lot of posts and push to support this establishment because they are small. I listened & had my hubby order and pick some up versus DoorDashing their food. I am not an extremely big eater, typically like small portions but this small of a portion actually left me with my chin on the ground. 7-8 oz of soup ($5.49) and a lackluster TINY Turkey sandwich on pita (asked for Mayo on side but was on it - also $5.49). This tiny meal was $12.61. Soup lacked flavor and due to the small size, almost NO broth. The Turkey sandwich left much to be desired. Not worth the money, in my opinion. If the taste delivered, I could see maybe spending $8-$9 for this meal. read more

Tiny, cozy little shop by the side of a busy street. Stopped by for a quick bite on a cold day. The staff was friendly and really tried to give their best recommendation. The food was warm and quick to come out, really hit the spot. Had the tomato bisque with a grilled cheese; best combo for a cold day. I wish I could say that I loved the food, but was only okay. The soap was a little watery lacked the depth of a bisque, had hoped for a heartier soup and was quite small for the "bowl" size. The grilled cheese was on a thick pita and pressed to melt the cheese, lacked the definite crunch you get with the toast and grill. Over all, it was a nice but expensive experience. read more

I can keep this one simple - the lobster bisque was fantastic and loaded with lobster, the wheat bread was very good, the service was fast, and the people were friendly. I'll definitely be back. I didn't take a picture of the menu but it offers a number of soups daily - at least 6-8 soups must've been listed with some unique offerings. A CUP of this will cost you about $6 with tip and it comes with a cheap dinner roll that is NOT homemade; sitting around in a plastic bag for probably a week! I fed mine to birds in the park. You also need to dodge all the street people roaming around Monument Circle getting there and back. Quite a lot to pay and deal with for a tiny bit of delicious home-made soup! read more

The broccoli & cheese soup is so good! Added a little bit of black pepper & salt, but that's just my preference. The half Joe Pesci Fugetaboutit was really good. Not too spicy (which is a must for me, I can't do spicy) and the perfect serving size when you're also pairing with a soup. The marinara sauce didn't come with it, but I didn't plan on eating it anyway, so no harm no foul. Ordered via DoorDash so food was a bit lukewarm when it got here, but what can you expect? I think ordering for pickup would be a better idea for warmer food. All in all, it's a good experience. I really want to try the tomato soups! I wish you could get a small side salad instead of the larger salads though. read more
