Salmon Salad
Aerionna M.

Hidden gem on Keystone! I caller ahead and ordered a salmon salad supreme and was told my order would be ready within 20 minutes. Once I arrived, the masked employee handed me my food and informed me they have been operating with a reduced menu due to Covid, but most items including sandwiches, salads and soups are still available. The salad featured a huge piece of grilled salmon topped with diced grilled onions on top of a bed of lettuce, shredded cheese and onions. All for $10! Best salad in the city, in my opinion. I will be supporting again to try the fish hoagie.

What a delightful surprise! Although the place is small and it is difficult to pull in the tiny parking area located directly on 38th Street (just a few blocks east of the fairgrounds), it is well worth the effort the next time you are in the area. I grabbed the last spot and decided to get my order to go since I didn't want to keep other customers from finding a spot. (The lot is shared with other businesses too, so I hope they can find a more accessible spot someday!) The inside is clean and has a small dining room set up which seems like it is mainly a place for customers to wait while their order is being made. The menu is located on the back wall and there is a small counter with beverages next to the cash register. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and greeted me and was glad to let me browse the menu until I was ready. I decided to try the Grilled BBQ Salmon that is shredded, coated with honey and BBQ sauce and grilled with peppers. It comes served on a normal sized wheat bun. No sides come with it, but the price was under $6 and I felt like it was a bargain! Excellent flavors that didn't mask the grilled salmon taste. Although the menu board didn't have the current list of veggie options, I ended up with ordering a grilled broccoli with mult-colored bell peppers and a variety of seasonings. That was different from anything else I've had (and I've had a lot!) but it was all good. I would definitely recommend both the side and the sandwich. I also picked up a sweet tea which comes without ice. Not sure why it doesn't have any, but it was chilled and tasty without the ice. Note that this restaurant does have Muslim books and newspapers on display, much like a lot of Christian restaurants do. I didn't feel any awkwardness due to the store expressing its views quietly. No pressure or judgment was noticed. Good food that exceeded my expectations. Food takes about 10-15 minutes depending upon what you order and how busy they are. Most of the items are seafood or veggie based. Review #2707

I cannot believe I have not reviewed..... actually I can believe I haven't reviewed because I go so much, I love this place! I spend more time eating than writing, smh I am sorry about that. Ear to live is a family owned, black owned restaurant that sits in the Muslim Mass plaza on east 38th & Keystone. Limited parking so be prepared, also the lot is angled so it's a little funky driving into it but just find a spot and get the food in your belly is the most important lol The kids are involved and the mom is holding it down in the kitchen. The food is amazing. The salmon burger is all I have tried though I say I need to try more, i am just so fixated on the salmon burger. It is chard like a perfect grilled Patty. Comes with pickles, cheese, miracle whip, tomorrow and lettuce on a wheat bun. I don't like miracle whip but it compliments the sandwich so well. Now before I continue, they have a fish sausage burger and halibut sandwiches, all for under $8 ! It blows my mind. They also have salads, desserts and smoothies. I've had the smoothies which are to die for. I get the strawberry lemonade smoothie, on point! They don't have unhealthy sides like Mac n cheese or fries, they have veggies and they are all amazing. I've had their broccoli with peppers and cabbage. There is more o need to try and I plan on it because my meals here including a burger, a side and smoothie is around $13. The staff is so nice and welcoming to everyone. The decor is aluminum modern and small but able to fit a few folks to dine in. Love it! Go get you some

This gem is my new favorite place! After being referred here 3x I finally decided to stop in. I am so glad that I did, I had the best salmon burger ever. The salmon was grilled and topped with fresh lettuce, tomato's, onions etc. What I liked most was that it was actual salmon, not a pre-made frozen patty. It was fresh and made to order. Their service is quick, the establishment is clean and the food is good AND healthy AND reasonably priced. It for real does not get any better.

Came on a Saturday night & ordered the Fish Sausage Burger + House Salad. Service was fast & food very good/fresh.

LaShae W.

Amazing. Googled the name as I drove by and immediately turned around after seeing their menu to place my first order! I was sold. Went there 2 days in a row and both times my taste buds were extremely satisfied! Fish sausage is a little spicy but even if you don't like spice you'll love the lil kick it has.

The outside.

The menu is solid, with good variety. I ordered the A La Crossing Benedict, side of gravy, lefse, side Norwegian potato cake, and peach ginger hot tea. I was thrilled to find the hot tea was loose leaf in a pot brought to the table. It's a lovely touch. The Benedict had perfectly crispy bacon and so much asparagus. The egg yolks were perfectly runny and the hollandaise had great flavor. I picked the house salad with champagne vinaigrette for the side and enjoyed that as well. I tried the gravy on some of the sourdough bread and it had a great flavor. The biscuits and gravy will probably be something I order next time because it was so good. When I read they season their sausage in-house I knew I had to try it even though I wanted the Benedict. The Norwegian Potato Cake was a delight! I love every take on a potato pancake or latke and this one had great flavor. The Lefse was a perfect treat to end- I had the traditional with just butter, sugar, and cinnamon. (I had leftovers of this and ate it at home with extra butter and a little syrup also.) This place is a gem and I am so glad I stumbled upon it!

Large mug, excellent froth and the coffee was rich and bold ! I ordered the half order of biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs on top. I enjoyed the food, flavor and richness of the gravy. The gravy was stocked with sausage crumbles which added the full flavor. The eggs were fried a tad harder than I desire but they were tasty and topped the meal well. The price was more expensive than I anticipated but not crazy. Ruth's is a little of a distance for me which is how I base my final rating. I liked it and will go again if I am in the area during their hours of operation. But I would not pass some equally good cafes closer to me. If you are in the keystone area I recommend you stop

This spot is just off the creek, with a decent parking lot and a drive through. It has a deeper warmer green than a Starbucks, and it draws a much warmer crowd too. We chatted often with the people in this shop! And we visited twice. How welcoming is that? The breakfast burrito is nothing flashy, but definitely warm gooey goodness. What sets it apart is the sauce: creamy, gently spiced, something like a seasoned mayo but not spicy. Coffee, of course, is the backbone here, and it's handled with a kind of calm precision. Our barista kindly alerted my partner and me that a warm blueberry latte would have oatmeal because of course the blueberry curdles regular milk. It was great attention to detail, and it's why we came back again and again during our week long trip. They had a special for every day! But I'll say that the frap she got was prepared and presented with panache. If you look at my photos attached to this review, you'll see what I mean! If you don't mind that this is definitely a church establishment, then this is a great place to grab a coffee and have a quiet visit or study. There were lots of comfortable chairs and power outlets. If you drive by Northview Church's Binford campus, then you've undoubtedly witnessed the growth of…read morewhat had been a decently sized medical office building into a genuine church campus that includes the church itself, Capstone Cafe (part of the church), and Pathways Learning Academy. It's actually a rather beautiful campus that seems to have really perked up this area of Binford Boulevard. I'd been curious about Capstone Cafe ever since I saw it pop up as a church offering. It's located on the south wing of the campus and is clearly marked. The entire church has quite a few accessible parking spots as they have a defined ministry for children with disabilities. I will admit this is part of why I wanted to support Capstone - as an adult with a disability, I feel strongly about churches that work to be inclusive of those of us with disabilities. They also do have an automatic door, though it actually was open when I arrived since they were bringing items in/out. Capstone Cafe is essentially a little coffee house. The nearest comparison might be The Haverstick, though this is not really defined as a "co-working" space. That said, as I arrived a group had gathered at one table and appeared to either be working or studying. It's a really comfortable space for either one, though I didn't see plug-ins around and I'm not sure if they offer wifi. The first thing I noticed about Capstone, though, was the sense of welcome. It was immediate and it felt very genuine. Several people were present decorating for the holidays and there was a sense of hospitality everywhere I turned. I had one person turn around from what she was doing and open the door for me and I was greeted by at least 3-4 people working in the church. However, in case you're wondering, it didn't have an agenda to it. The employee working was also super friendly. She showed me both of their menus (drinks and food) and other things around like snacks. They keep things pretty simple here and they support local roasters including Indie Coffee Roasters, Tinker, and Limelight. I ordered a 16-ounce drip coffee (Tinker) for $2.75. I also opted for a grilled cheese weaving together gruyere and mild American for $4.00 (I think it might have actually been $4.25 as I'm pretty sure I paid $7 total - surprisingly, it also included a small serving of Broad Ripple Chip Co. chips). Regardless, it was a definite value to me. They offer a variety of drinks including a variety of coffee variations, teas, and hot chocolate along with soft drinks. They also have smoothies and fountain sodas. They have a breakfast and lunch menu - it's definitely on the lighter side including breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, a panini, a grilled cheese, a soup and sandwich combo, turkey chili, some baked goods, some chip varieties, and a handful of other options. Everything is reasonably priced and you can easily pick up a light lunch here for under $10 and all of their coffee options are under $5 with the highest price I saw being $4.50. There are tables around Capstone and a few tables spaced out around this particular wing of the church. Between the church, the school, and Capstone this place stays steady if not busy. I'll admit that the 5-star is possibly generous as it might build up unreasonable expectations for what is truly just a simple church-based coffeehouse type shop that keeps things simple and focuses on hospitality. The thought that kept coming back to me was that this felt like actual ministry. In some churches, this type of operation either feels like a "business," which makes me feel icky, and other times feels like nothing more than a "gotcha" opportunity. This felt like actual ministry and I really, really liked it. Admittedly, the hours are not the most convenient for me during the week. I happened to have taken a day off work and wanted a place to relax. This was perfect. However, they do also offer Saturday and even Sunday hours (I'm assuming in conjunction with their morning worship). While I expected to appreciate Capstone Cafe, it actually exceeded my expectations in both hospitality and actual quality of offerings. The employee was friendly and helpful and welcoming, the coffee was delicious, the grilled cheese hit the spot, and the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. I may not be back as often as I'd like, but I'll definitely be back.

That could not be more true. We both did Pick Two: I got a chicken salad sandwich and my mother got a turkey and cheese both with the soup of the day which was butternut squash. Soup was OK, sandwiches were OK. I got a side of chips (not made in-house) for $3. My daughter was upset when we arrived bc she was napping in the car and she proceeded to cry for about the first 10 minutes so, I walked around with her to calm her before I sat down since it's so cramped to try not to disturb everyone else. She was not happy the entire time so we were trying to calm her and feed her. Cake slices and cheesecake are $17-20 each. They're large but other reviews say dry and taste old. That's pricey. We skipped dessert at those prices based on the quality of the rest of our meal... I got an $8 peppermint mocha which was good but, served in the smallest teacup imaginable. It's extremely small inside. Like, uncomfortable. Granted, I had a lot of items with my baby and her and we were seated at a table for two with her in my lap but it was close quarters and the waitresses were squeezing between the chairs to walk around. They have about 6 tables inside with a small event private room in back. Our waitress was kind but, the manager or owner was off-putting. She went to every single table seated except ours to ask how their meal was and experience and, when time to pay, she wanted to personally ring me up to ensure we left in a hurry. I get it, some places are not meant for babies, but, since it's billed specifically to kids, I thought this was. Nope, I was wrong. (She's 19 months - so, too young for this bougie of an establishment clearly) I would not come back at all unless it was for my, older daughter to have a birthday cake experience and get a couple cute pics. As far as instagram-worthy goes, they know what they're doing. As far as quality of food. It's like a 2.5 stars. I wish we'd waited and walked into the larger one in Carmel and just shopped and got some cookies to go!
