Went here with my family. Food was ok. The best part was the French fries... those were good! My husband said the mac and cheese burger was just ok. My sister and I got the beer cheese steak and we didn't love it. The barely filled the sandwich. More bread than filling. Which was disappointing because this place isn't super cheap. My husband and I had a night out and we started at the tap. It was great weather outside so we decided for outside seating. Our table outside was high chair seating, it was pretty comfortable. We shared fries and steak meal, delicious. The tap fries are famous, if you haven't tried it you're missing out. Our server Sarah was super sweet and knowledgeable about the tap. The most frustrating day in my three-year adventure here in the US showed me that racism and inflated egos still exist--especially at The Tap. We are Polish citizens on a business trip, and we went there for a beer. We sat outside on a large red sofa next to a fireplace that wasn't working. I asked a server if he could turn it on, but he ignored me. Despite that, we were having a good time and causing no trouble. After about an hour, friends of one of the bartenders arrived (apparently they usually sit there on Saturday nights). They sat elsewhere at first, then came over and asked if they could take our spot, saying they would have the fire turned on. A minute later, someone from the bar turned it on--but shortly after, it was turned off again. As you can see, connections seem to mean everything there. After a while, one of my friends, who is diabetic, closed his eyes, which somehow became a big issue. They called a security guard, who told him he couldn't sleep there. I explained that he is diabetic. We asked our friend to stay awake, but he felt sleepy again, and the same guard returned and repeated his warning. Later, that same security guard came to our table and asked only the other group (the bartender's friends) if everything was okay, completely ignoring us. I stood up and asked why the fire wasn't turned on when we asked, but was turned on immediately for their staff's friends. I also asked why he didn't check on our group. It was obvious that the other group didn't like us sitting there. Guess what happened next? They called the police. Two officers arrived. At the same time, a rude manager came over and accused us of disturbing their friends--even though we hadn't interacted with them at all. She also complained that my friend couldn't sleep. I explained again that he is diabetic. We were not drunk; we had only had one beer. She responded, "I don't give a shit," and then told us to "get the fuck out of here" in front of the officers. We felt deeply embarrassed. The police officers, however, were calm and polite. They asked us to step outside and explain the situation, which we did. I told them it didn't seem fair that simply because we are not American, and because the other group didn't want us there, the police were called. The truth is, Poland has strong relations with the US, but the level of disrespect and lack of culture shown by this bar's manager was unacceptable. I honestly do not recommend this place. By the way, they forgot to give us a receipt, so we ended up getting four beers for free. No, The Tap Indianapolis--this does not make up for how we were treated. read more

Our server was very nice and took care of us but we only saw her about every 20 minutes even when our drinks were empty. It's not that big of a deal but she came to our area to deliver drinks but didn't acknowledge us when our glasses were empty. Now that Indiana has happy hour I would recommend to go and try their small bites. They always rotate their speciality cocktails as well. On certain days and times they have a DJ. There's quite a lot to choose from when it comes to food in Downtown Indianapolis and I often find myself in the mood for a good burger and here at The Tap they absolutely have some great food and especially a good burger in their Beer Cheese Burger. I will say that the burger was quite good however I didn't feel like I received a big enough portion when it came to their fries. The parmesan garlic sauce they come with is very delicious however this is one instance where the portion size for the fries was simply not enough. The environment here is quite loud especially if you're visiting on a Friday evening such as this particular trip I went on. The Tap does offer a rather large selection of beer and other beverages to choose from, lots of seating as well inside and out so no problems there. The service was excellent especially for a very dinner service. I definitely recommend coming and checking out The Tap as it makes for a great place to come with friends and have a few drinks or watch a game and especially if you want to dine outside on a nice evening. read more

We had a great night at The Tap in Indianapolis last weekend--and a big part of that was thanks to our server, Leyonday (yes, that's how you say it, and yes, he's that memorable). There were nine of us in the group, and with multiple rounds of beer (3 or 4 depending on who you ask), we threw a lot at him--different orders each time, lots of questions--and he didn't miss a single detail. Not one. He gave solid recommendations throughout, and every single one landed. The standout moment? My husband--loyal to Miller Lite for as long as I've known him (we met in college)--swore he'd stick to water since they didn't have it. Fast forward 20 minutes, and he's now a "Mexican craft beer guy" thanks to a taste of the new dragon beer Leyonday brought over. I've never seen him switch teams like that. The Tap already has a strong lineup of beers, but the service truly elevated the experience. Leyonday was knowledgeable, chill, and effortlessly attentive. A good selection of beers on tap from their own brewery in Bloomington. Food option are limited, but let's not forget, this is an airport. My Southwest grilled chicken salad came very quickly and very cold. They likely pulled it right out of the frig (or freezer, as the dollop of guacamole was icy) but it was in a real bowl served with real silverware, which is worth an extra star in an airport terminal. Honestly, we came for the Tap-O-Lantern, but were pleasantly surprised by the food! Tap-O-Lantern is a seasonal pumpkin pie beer with a cinnamon sugar rim and OH MY was it good. I am 100% not a beer girl, but I am dreaming of that drink. I ordered the Firecracker Shrimp tacos and they were GOOD! There were very heavily filled which I appreciated and the firecracker sauce was delicious! The fries were great and well seasoned. I will skip the garlic aioli next time- it was a little mayo-heavy! My husband ordered the Boom Boom wrap. I don't love wraps, but I had a bite (of course), and it made me rethink my aversion to wraps! It was delicious! We loved sitting out on the patio. I visited before a concert in the area. The food was so good along with a large beer/drink selection! My friend and I split a beer cheese and pretzels and then we both had burgers for our main meal. The pretzels were soft and delicious. The beer cheese was thinner and so good. They forgot the bacon on the burger even though it was listed on the menu as included. I'm not a beer drinker and they had tons of choices for me! They had local ciders that were the perfect blend of tart and sweet. There was ourside seating under umbrellas for shade.
