LOVE this place!!! My wife wasn't feeling well this weekend, and she really wanted chicken noodle soup, but since she has Celiacs and food allergies, that wasn't an option that was easy to find. So we turned to our new favorite restaurant, CoreLife Eatery and had the chicken and rice noodle bone broth bowl. Omg this is my new obsession. I got a customized, legitimately healthy, super tasty meal for $10. If I lived or worked nearby, I would be here 3x a week. I chose a spicy chicken and ancient grains bowl, subbing edamame for the beets, with extra sriracha and fire sauce on the side. I think I also did spicy broccoli instead of "normal" broccoli. The roasted root veggies for the protein plates looked amazing, but I didn't add them to my meal. Next time. And I are every bite of my lunch. Please come to downtown! I've visited this location multiple times since opening last year. It has a really unique concept with freshly made food that is created right in front of you. Endless options, but make sure to note certain items since as fresh fruit, eggs and avocado are up-charges. The portions are decent. Definitely get the big bowl, but single protein is fine. If you order a cup of broth be prepared, it's generally extremely hot and hard to drink for a long time! My favorite item is the steak and blue cheese bowl, add onions for a nice crunch. read more

We all try to eat healthy. But sometimes it's hard to have all the right ingredients on hand AND the motivation to chop a million vegetables before they start to grow mold. That's where CoreLife Eatery comes in, a new whole-food chain that recently made its way to Indianapolis in the Castleton area. They claim to be non-GMO and locally sourced with no high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors and flavors and their branding looks like a bright Chipotle. Similar to other fast-casual restaurants that are worming their way into Millennial's hearts and pockets, the restaurant offers grain, salad, and broth bowls that can be customized into a myriad of healthy offerings. This might sound a little complicated, but it's basically like building a big salad. You pick an already-decided combination from the hanging board or design your own dish, adding things like tuna poke, black sesame seeds, and chopped almonds on top of quinoa and kale. Most bowls have a suggested dressing, which have been prepared fresh, in-house the same day. The chain also offers creative, hand-crafted beverages, such as beet lemonade or apple cider green tea. CoreLife Eatery was really clogging my Instagram feed, so I decided to give it a try last Sunday with Husband in tow. It was pouring down rain outside, so we ran into an almost empty restaurant (sharp contrast to the lines out the door from the previous week) to see what all the fuss was about. The verdict? Underwhelming. I tried the Tuna Poke grain bowl with miso sesame ginger dressing and Husband ordered the Thai chicken with rice noodles and Thai cashew dressing. My bowl looked pretty and colorful, but became super soggy with too much dressing and the flavors all muddled together into a bland mess after a few bites. Husband's bowl was pretty bland and he was disappointed with the cold noodles and overwhelming amount of cabbage. Both bowls needed some salt or spice or something. There was also a super weird 1/2 slice of store-bought bread that accompanied my dish as a "side," but no other side options (I need my kettle chips!). I sampled almost all of the fruit beverages and was very let down with the taste and sweetness without finding any favorites. I like so many ideas from CoreLife Eatery, like the protein-rich bowls, antibiotic-free meats, and pretty affordable entrees (around $10), but there has got to be a way to make them more palatable. Husband ran to Wendy's an hour later. If I went again, I would order something different and definitely ask for dressing on the side. Or maybe I just won't go again. read more

I thought the food at CoreLife tasted good, but I would not say that the price was right for what you got. The scoop for their meats is TINY. I got a double-scoop of steak on my black & blue salad, and it was about the same amount you find at other comparable places. I guess they have cool in-house drinks, but I was already dishing out something like $13+ for a quick-service salad, so I skipped that. If I return, next visit I'll likely go for a grain bowl or soup bowl instead. read more

Move over Panera and Freshii! There is a new made-to-order fast food place in town and it is the freshest around! I have been so excited to try Corelife since I saw the big banners out front advertising meals with greens, grains, and broth. We seriously need more healthy and fresh fast food options in Indianapolis and I think Corelife is going to be the place to hopefully start hat trend. I went in on their official opening day. It was busy (as to be expected), but not crowded or swamped. You could tell that the folks had been prepping for several weeks for their first day of service. It showed in the eager and ready-to-serve attitude of all employees, the well-organized layout of the restaurant, and the ease it took speed my order down their food line! So many things I like about this place! Where to start? I love the fact that there are healthy options for all palettes and dietary needs. I overheard another customer who had a severe peanut allergy and saw how the employees on the line carefully and efficiently took care of her. She was given personal treatment by just one employee, who made sure to wash her hands thoroughly and was the only person to touch this customer's food, ensuring that she would not have any issues with peanuts along the line. I also love that they have options options options! If you don't like tofu, you can substitute that for a different protein. If you don't like kale, you can substitute that for a different green. Every bowl is customizable...you follow it down the line as the employee asks you if you'd like anything extra or different in it. It works a lot like Subway or Qdoba, but the food is WAY BETTER and SO MUCH FRESHER! Best of all...reasonable prices for this freshness! ::insert surprised face:: I feel like that is unheard of in this country, where a bag of potatoes chips costs less than a bag of apples. But, Corelife has managed to keep the prices of their meals relatively comparable to places like Panera. My large green bowl was right around $8 and it was filling. I'm told they plan to open up to 7 locations in the Indy area...woot woot! That means more delicious lunch options for me around town. Wow! So excited this new style of restaurant has made its way to Indianapolis and right by me. I know there are plenty of quick service restaurants taking over town, but not one that makes almost everything in house- the dressings, the bone broth, the lemonades (including beet lemonade, my new fave). I have only been once during their opening VIP and I must say it was a smooth visit for not even having even open yet. I tried the Southwest Chicken Grain Bowl and I will say I felt great after lunch, full without needing that afternoon nap. Their menu includes Green Bowls (salads), Grain Bowls and Broth Bowls. I cannot wait to go back and try more as well as their homemade soups. Looking forward to having fresh made bone broth close by for the winter as it is my go-to now when I catch a cold. The service is friendly and everyone seems so excited to help you make choices and let you take your time through the menu. I'm always interested in a healthy fast food joint. You can choose from a warp, broth bowl or noodle bowl. I went with a Thai ginger broth bowl and let me tell you it was amazing! It seems that they have specials that may rotate throughout the month. They offer a free slice of bread when you check out, its nothing special...but if you like dipping bread in your soup/broth make sure you take the bread! They also don't have soda, but rather great teas, lemonades and ice coffees. Looking forward to visiting soon! read more

CoreLife Eatery opened two weeks ago, and I have already been there three times. I'm officially hooked. The quality and taste of the food combined with the welcoming atmosphere makes CoreLife a must-visit establishment. It is a total game-changer for fast-casual dining. They are passionate about the food they serve. Also, it's a perfect spot for all different dietary preferences; gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and vegetarian. As someone with a lot of dietary restrictions, it's refreshing to find a fast-casual establishment that caters to those needs. I was able to attend the VIP Preview event before the official Grand Opening. The line was extremely long at this preview, but it was still extremely quick! At this event all the staff were super welcoming and helpful with the menu, which can seem intimidating at first glance. We had several staff come up to us during this event to ask if we needed anything. While the experience and customer service was excellent at this preview event, I was skeptical as to whether or not the quality of service would carry-on after the official grand opening. Spoiler Alert: it has. I have gone twice since the preview, and I have been more impressed each time. The employees still are very helpful when it comes to the menu. My go-to meal is the Southwest Chicken Grain Bowl with quinoa and tofu instead of rice and chicken. I love this dish, the cilantro lime dressing is absolute perfection. It leaves me feeling full and satisfied, but never heavy. They have green bowls that look phenomenal and broth bowls that I can't wait to try as soon as the cooler weather sets in. There's honestly something for everyone. They also have the option to build your own bowl, but I highly recommend trying one of their pre-made bowls. Some of the combos may sound strange, but they know their stuff! Also, try the fresh-made juice. It's made daily and it is absolutely phenomenal. The cranberry cayenne lemonade is my go-to. I've also tried the beet lemonade and coconut water fruit punch. (Don't be scared by the names, I'm not a fan of beets OR coconut water and I LOVE both of these beverages.) If you're dining in, give all of them a try! The atmosphere is amazing. The food is delicious. The price is completely reasonable, especially for the quality of the food. The staff is friendly. The first time I tried CoreLife I got a wrap that had Thai noodles in it. The noodles were undercooked and lacked sauce so the clumped together, not very tasty. I went again and had a salad that had TONS of salad dressing on it and the avocado they went to use had brown spots...unappetizing so they did cut another fresher one. But the salad itself was not good and BITH times I went in the staff seemed unenthusiastic, bored and didn't seem to have much in terms of customer service. I used to order from Sweet Green when we lived in Chicago and I thought this might be comparable but it was not at all. I personally would not recommend CoreLife and will not be returning. read more

On a Saturday, when ppl typically eat junk food, I craved a salad. Now I love a salad just like the next person, but stopping into Core Life Eatery just threw me all off, lol. I loved all the options, choices, add-ins (with the exception of chickpeas - fight me, lol). I actually got a signature salad called Greens and Ancients Salad and added chicken into it. Woah! Came here out of pure hunger desperation while out near the Keystone area. How did I not know about this place. It is AMAZING. So many choices, so many flavors. I will be updating this review again as I try more dishes but for now, the two I tried were both VERY good and I'll happily come here again when in the area. It is done very much like a fast casual style. You pick off a very large offering menu and stylize your dish with options like a chipotle style. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. They were very knowledgeable about their dishes. It was cool to see all the fresh ingredients - lots of fresh veggies are displayed behind the counter. Second experience with Core life and I think they have a winning combination here. I like the healthiness of it all. The decor is trendy too with the dark brown seats light green cushions and bright orange accents. The menu is pretty straightforward in that you decide whether you want a salad, grain, or broth bowl. Ingredients are added from what looks like a well stocked salad bar. Everything looked fresh and tasty. I was a little surprised to see so many dishes listed with meat, but this is Indiana and I guess it's ok that veggie dishes were definitely in the minority. I ordered the sirachi grain bowl with ginger, Kale, carrots, other stuff and tofu. Everything was mixed in a big bowl before it was placed in my serving bowl, except the tofu? Not sure why, but the dressing would have added some flavor to the tofu. This is probably how they do other 'proteins' too, just place them on top. I don't know, but I will be back to try roasted vegetables, which I didn't notice when first placing my order. read more

I went here with my family for Father's Day and we were very disappointed. Right as we walked it one of the employees rolled their eyes at us. The same person kept looking at my 11 year old daughter and laughing while we were eating. The restaurant was empty except for us, and 1 other family. It was our first time going there, and while we were ordering, it was very confusing, so when we asked questions, a male cashier with big eyeliner, shoulder length hair, and nose piercings was incredibly rude. He responded sharply, talked quiet, and shot us dirty looks. The mac and cheese was a horrible texture. The noodles were crumpled and smooshed, and the cheese was sticky. My daughter found hair in her food. We felt very judged the whole time and the cashiers made it feel like it was because we are white. read more

Great fast casual option in Indy! They offer a variety of different bowls like broth bowls, rice bowls and salad bowls, plus you have the option to build you own. Most of their menu is gluten free and they're great about marking specific allergens. My favorite is the spicy beef broth bowl.. but beware: it is spicy!!! They make each bowl as you order so you can always customize to fit your taste or dietary needs.
