I placed an order on their website last week for delivery, for 4 salads and we only received 3 of them. And two of the ones we received were missing ingredients. I tried calling to see if I could get a refund for the salad they forgot and they didn't answer and their voicemail was full. So I sent an email and I also sent a message on their contact us page on the website. No one has responded and it's been almost a week! As we pulled into the parking lot of Salad Works approximately 7pm. There was plenty of parking and parking for people with disabilities. As we entered the restaurant we were greeted by Sanaisha and Lauren with smiles. The restaurant was clean with an inviting atmosphere. There was plenty of seating, also seating for people with disabilities. Sanaisha and Lauren prepared our salads and sandwiches. Enjoyed the warm rolls and soft butter that came with our meal. Oh, we also got a cookie. Yum! We ordered our food to go, we had our food within 15 minutes. Loved the service!! The staff was very professional and truly enjoyed their work. I was so exciting to finally be getting a fast build your own salad type of place near me! When I lived on the east coast there was one on every block. I was even more excited to see they had a green goddess dressing which came highly recommended. I did a build your own salad with tomatoes, carrots, spinach Romaine, peppers, edamame and crispy chicken. There are so many great options for toppings and the protein options are varied! I chose to go with the green goddess but I honestly was disappointed. They said it was more of like a cucumber ranch, which in my experience green goddess doesn't typically have cucumber. Nothing against cucumber but it just wasn't what I was hoping for. I would also not go with spinach next time as it had a bit of a dirt/earthy flavor that was overpowering. My wife and I ordered delivery from here last night. I was disappointed. Initially upon looking at the menu, I was excited to find a healthier Panera-type restaurant with a vast menu of delicious sounding options. I ordered the buffalo chicken panini and mac and cheese, and my wife ordered a salad with chickpeas. The price wasn't too bad either, so we were overall excited. When the food arrived, however, before even taking a bite, my expectations were not met. First, they forgot my side of chips and pickles, which understandably happens from time to time, but I have to factor it into my review. My panini was messily thrown together, practically like a fast food sandwich. And then both the mac and cheese and panini were lukewarm or cold. Since it was delivery, I'm not expecting it to stay piping hot upon arrival, but it seemed probably half an hour old. As far as the food itself, I was also unimpressed. The mac and cheese was clumpy and mostly flavorless. Not even much salt or pepper in it. (And salt was not included in the bag, though I received nine packets of pepper). The panini was fine, tasted like buffalo sauce and chicken, and there was a slice of cheese entirely unmelted on it. I do not exaggerate when I say that the bread roll that came with my wife's salad tasted better than either of my items. I ordered online today at 2pm - I had to use the website because apparently the app doesn't work and only holds rewards, which seems to not be tied to online ordering. I set my pick up time for 6pm. My order ended up being on the carry out bench the whole time and I ended up having to go inside to get it, leaving my 2 year old alone in the car because they hung up on me when I asked if it could be brought out (per the signed info). I ordered the avocado Cobb and it was fresh but not what I ordered. I left off a couple of things like blue cheese & tomatoes. I asked to add feta & wonton crisps. The items were left off that I asked for, but the items I added and paid for .99/each were left off. Furthermore there was no avocado on the salad at all. I ordered the kids quesadilla for my child. I guess I assumed it came with some sides as most other places. It didn't say different online (in fact there was no description at all). Big tip, it doesn't. It's just the quesadilla for $6 with no small side or anything. It's great for picky eaters because you can customize each element of your salad. I've especially enjoyed the grilled chicken pesto salad (I get it with kale) and Sophie's salad. Delicious! They are in a fantastic location, near Grand Park - the premier sports complex in the Midwest, with thousands of people visiting for tournaments every weekend. BUT, they are so inefficient and slow that people leave and, like me, won't ever go back. The quality of ingredients is low budget institutional grade. The staff was poorly trained, the presentation was lackluster, they are just throwing ingredients into clamshell containers. They look nothing like the menu, and it's just not good. To top it off the kid running the register about dropped my salad, the flimsy clam shell opened and he started to stuff the ingredients back in with the gloved hand that he was handling the money with, when told him not to touch my food with his filthy glove he froze and didn't know what to do.
