Beautiful space, (seriously; incredibly architecture and interior design), great service, and delicious food. Our first meal during our trip to Savannah was a slam dunk! Will definitely be recommending, and hope to be back. read more

Hands down one of the best restaurants we've ever been to. The vibe of the restaurant overall is fantastic. It has all the energy of an upscale restaurant without a trace of the pretentiousness. The whole staff is attentive and helpful, yet friendly and laid back. Try a variety of their menu items and don't sleep on dessert. After dinner head upstairs to their small bar & lounge and have another drink. We highly recommend "el caribe". This was honestly one of the best meals we've had in our travels. Without hesitation - GO! read more

Really liked this place. The downside was a 3% surcharge for using a credit card to pay. The service was excellent and the food was very good, although the portions were small. read more

The restaurant has very nice atmosphere. Martini was average, not what you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The meat seemed cooked sous vide, so if you like sous vide you will enjoy these dishes more than I did. I find sous vide lacking in flavor. Overall the food was good but not great, and definitely not worth the premium prices. read more

This place is absolutely amazing! The service is impeccable. The food is imaginary and top notch. I can't wait to go back!

If you want to spend $175+ for 2 for a snack and bad, forgetful service, this is the place for you. Food is good, but with a little effort much more desirable places in Savannah to visit before this substandard establishment read more

We really had a wonderful dinner at common thread. Their oysters were unique and delicious. Another unique and oh-so-delicious menu option was the scallops - with the real star being the lamb dolmas on the side. The gumbo has oysters in it which was a nice treat. Can't go wrong. Would definitely go back! read more

Ordered the fresh green salad. it looked like bagged spring mix that was old. Not as menu described. One dinner guest sent hers back because her salad had a rotten smell. The replacement salad was actually fresh. I ordered the Carolina rice with smoked swordfish. the fish was ice cold. I was not expecting that. There was not much fish in the dish at all. The other 2 diners got the pasta. it was salty. the cauliflower tasted old. We left hungry. Paid too much. Would not recommend. We were expecting eclectic but not bad food! read more

What a great experience! My wife and I love coming here for appetizers and drinks. Great vibes and awesome food + service!

It doesn't get any better than this! This is truly an extraordinary restaurant and is a must visit when you come to Savannah or if you are lucky enough to live here. One of the best meals we've had in the last two years. Everyone in the dining room was exclaining how delicious each dish was. We hope the Michelin people are listening and they bring an outpost to NYC. read more

Cool spot, really nice staff. The place has potential but the menu could be explained a little better by the server or maybe even redone. We ordered what we thought were two main courses, but one turned out to just be an appetizer portion since the menu isn't labeled with "starters", "main courses" etc. The server didn't say anything so our food came out separately, and then we awkwardly ordered a different dish which again came out separately. Food was good, a little pricey for the quality but not bad. read more

The meal I had here was incredible, start to finish. Great vibe, great staff, great nonalcoholic cocktail (a lemon thing we lucked into because there was confusion at the bar and our waitress gave us the resulting mistake drink for free), amazing cabbage starter, pumpkin thing, valid chicken (more normcore than anything else we got, so might not rush to order again, although it was perfectly good), and mind blowing dessert carrot cake dessert. Just go. Head and shoulders above anything else we ate in Savannah (looking at you askance, Husk). read more

It's a lovely space, with an interesting menu, but the meal was just okay. The squash blossom was delicious. The watermelon was nice. The halloumi, tortellini & carrot meals were not. They were just missing something to hold them together! Some flavor or something to make them more coherent. The majority of what we ate sadly just wasn't tasty, and we didn't finish. read more

What a terrific restaurant!! Food was fantastic and the service impeccable!! Shelby was the best! We will be back!

Great meal. Started with a drink at their bar upstairs (small, maybe 8 seats?). Great cocktails, and friendly bartender! Moved downstairs. Had oysters (awesome, and perfectly shucked, although in truth, while we loved the adds, we might have preferred them undressed). Then the meal: they had a pasta appetizer which was possibly best pasta dish I've had in memory. Wild good. Great swordfish entree. Fun and tasty wine list. Loved this place. read more

This was a last minute recommendation from a server at our restaurant hotel. Wow, this did not disappoint! It more than exceeded expectations!! My wife and I shared the oysters, cantaloupe appetizer, smoked mackerel rilletes, gamelli, and shrimp/andouille entree. Everything was amazing! The 2 story converted house was cozy, charming, and meticulously restored! read more

The best!! Everything I have tried here has been amazing. One of my favorite spots in Savannah!

I've never written a Yelp review before but this place is ridiculous. I've never eaten at a better restaurant. Do it.

Decided to try this new restaurant and were absolutely BLOWN away. Service was on point with the lounge serving up some thirst quenching cocktails! Talk to Mallory ot James behind the bar. Those two mixologists have it on lock for creative yummy cocktails. On to dinner....WOW! I ordered the Soba Noodles with scallops and clams with this euphoric broth that was nothing short of spectacular! Hubby ordered the lamb neck accompanied by potatoes, carrots peas and a heavenly gravy. Yes, I ate some of his dinner too! The atmosphere is inviting, warm and not stuffy. This is sure to become our new favorite place! read more

My husband and I were visiting Savannah over Christmas holidays and our trip was unexpectedly cut short but we made sure to finish our visit with dinner at Common Thread and it was the perfect way to go out. Our server, Adam, was attentive in just the right way. The food was wonderful, we ordered several plates including the braised turnips, rice porridge, red snapper entree and apple crisp dessert. The Brussel sprouts on the red snapper needed to be cooked a few minutes longer as they were still bitter but the snapper and pumpkin puree with the satsuma was flavorful. My favorite dish, if I had to choose one was the braised turnips, absolutely refreshing and so much flavour. the porridge was a great choice and for someone who doesn't care for mushrooms, I loved this. The house staff was nice and attentive, we have a service dog and they made sure we were sat at a table where she had space to be and was one of the few places we went that wasn't dismissive and rude that we had a service animal. Definitely a highlight of the short trip. read more

Probably one of the best meals my wife and I have ever had. All the dishes are easily shareable and I highly recommend that to get the full culinary experience. And no matter what is on the menu if their roasted 1/2 chicken is available YOU MUST order it. The best roasted chicken ever! read more

Food was delicious, house is beautiful, service was amazing but the prices were high for the small portions. It was great but I won't be back. read more

I NEVER leave negative reviews. But this place was ridiculous. We came to Common Thread this past weekend when my friends and I were in Savannah from out of town as our friends had recommended it. Called three weeks in advance to book the reservation as we were a party of 8. When I called they said absolutely no problem, just we only do outdoor seating for larger parties. We're like totally fine, assuming it was an outdoor patio with several tables and heaters. We show up and there is ONE raggedy table outside on the porch with two electric minimal heaters that were not working whatsoever. No other tables or heaters. Looked more like they pulled out the table last minute. We sat down regardless in our coats and said it was fine. The manager eventually brought out a third electric heater but honestly did not help. Mind you we are all from Miami, so needless to say we were FREEZING the entire time in 40 degree weather. Despite all this we proceeded to order our wine and food and were explained when we ordered that we had to order everything at once and that it would come out in courses. Flash forward 2.5 HOURS LATER. Freezing outside and we had received maybe 3 of the appetizers. Still missing like 8 more + all of the entrees. We were freezing and late to an engagement party so we repeatedly asked the waiter what was going on, to which she started getting snippy and combative and scoffed at us saying "the food has to get cooked". Didn't know a salad takes 2.5 hours. We eventually asked to just please cancel the rest of the food and let us pay because we were late and freezing. Kept getting assured that no the food would be right out. 45 minutes later still waiting. Finally the entrees come out (even though none of us wanted anything but a heater at this point) and the meat is R A W. I eat medium rare, but this stuff was INEDIBLE. When asked to the manager/waitress they just shrugged and said the meat was raw because they had to "rush" our orders so we should just be happy they got it out to us. Overall ABSURD customer service. They ended up charging us for everything despite leaving all 8 entrees RAW and uneaten on the table. Not once was there an apology for the delay or the service or the cold. Just SO disappointing. We were so looking forward to this place for our weekend in Savannah. Not even in Miami do restaurants treat people this poorly. I highly suggest ownership to change the management structure. We all left hungry, freezing and just dumbfounded. Ended up paying $600 for food we did not eat and ordering dominos. read more

Common Thread Savannah - Raw meat after 3 hours - New American Near Me - Savannah, Georgia

Terrific cocktails and great food. The service is impeccable and the setting is lovely. We arrived a bit early for our reservation and although the restaurant was very busy, the staff did not miss a beat in making sure we had cocktails while we waited. The food is locally sourced and very fresh. It's a great place to go when you've had enough of the traditional Southern fried foods, which are delicious but can be quite heavy after a couple of days. Our party had several oyster aficionados who normally prefer West Coast oysters, and the oysters did not disappoint. The owners have done a great job of restoring a Savannah gem. We will definitely return to Common Thread when we return to Savannah. read more

I was excited to try this place because a new restaurant opened very next to my house! The service was sublime, everybody is really nice and they give good recommendations. We ordered oysters and let me tell you, they were super delicious specially oysters 2. I must recommend to order fried softshell crab! Favorite restaurant of me and my girlfriend! read more

What a fabulous dinner experience! Beautiful setting in a lovely, old home. Staff were knowledgeable, fun, and professional. The food was absolutely superb! There were 6 adults in our group. We all had different food selections and all raved about their dishes. We will definitely go back if we get back to Savannah. read more

Do not go here - absolute worst staff experience and ended up leaving before we even placed an order. The manager is a large man and he nearly physically accosted my friend after there was confusion on the reservation time. The way he continued to get in her face after she physically stepped away and put her hands up in a self defense motion - I will never forget. We were so upset and rattled and had to leave. I sincerely urge you to go anywhere else in Savannah. read more

I continue to be impressed by this place. Not only is the space gorgeous, but the food and service exceeds expectations. I have eaten here a half dozen times in the last few months and don't have a single complaint. Their menu continues to change with the season keeping every dish fresh with a farm to table feel. The menu is a compatible for sharing among your party so everyone is able to enjoy different dishes. For bonus, ask for Nicki. read more

Loved it!! Beautiful space, welcoming staff, and amazing food. NYC level flavor. We will definitely be back.

Disappointed. I went there expecting to get a aged steak as we saw racks of ribeyes in photo advertising the place. So that is what we expected to get but not at all what we received. The menu no aged steaks but more of a fancy vegetables some oysters made different ways crab and one meat dish made with a poor cut of beef. We found they change the menu each day and it's posted on there webpage. We went also for a fine dinning experience again not at all what we expected we didn't care for the loud rock music and bright lights. We ordered a fresh crab and pasta dish that was colorful and caught your eye, but the flavor was missing, more of a citrus and pasta flavor that was not expected, pleasing flavor of the marriage of crab and pasta not there. The bottom line the dish fell flat. It had no visible crab meat and void of crab flavor. The plus was the attentive staff and management. We are locals and try every new place that opens and we have lots of great fine dining places and some award winning chefs. This place was very creative, but not to our taste. read more

Amazing amazing epic five stars and will be back! Carrots are life changing. Grilled octopus was seriously one of the best dishes I've had in years. Very efficient service. Great ambiance. Elevated cuisine and the atmosphere is not fussy at all. Home comfort. Great drinks. Oysters were very tasteful. Highly recommend he heirloom tomato salad. The whole snapper was very tasty albeit a bit hard to eat with the bones. Service was exceptional. Our waitress Shelby was very knowledgeable and steered us in the right direction all night. Highly recommend read more

Has Potential. My wife and I visited for our anniversary. Staff was very hospitable and professional. Covid protocols were good. The waitress was knowledgeable about the menu. My wife ordered the red snapper and I ordered the octopus. The food was cooked well but was so salty that it was hard to distinguish any different flavors. The restaurant has the right ambiance but they must refocus on the most important thing and that is food. Inevitably, that is all people will remember when they leave. read more

From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we had exceptional service (notably our server Shelby and the host whose name I forget). The food was also quite good--probably the best we've had all year. Granted, this was one of the only restaurants we ate at all year (thanks COVID). Absolutely would recommend. Just an all-around pleasant experience. read more

Wonderful service and food. The staff was extremely accommodating to group. Two of my girlfriends and I sat in the lounge and it was just the right amount of class and comfort. Will definitely be back and highly recommend! read more

Really great food! Had the tuna crudo, swordfish, Baked chicken and deserts. All exemplary and innovative. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic, which helped further the experience. As good a 'foodie' restaurant as I have tried. They use a different spice selection than normally found in the South, will set your mouth alive (not hot, but interesting). Well worth the trip from downtown if you are visiting. the cocktail selection is very tasty as well. read more
