It's the addict thing. When I m visiting S Cali with CocoHodo nearby, I got to check it out and plan it so I can bring back some to the states. This one is located inside the market, way at the back by the Paris Baguette. At the time if visit, we were greeted by elder lady with a sample hodo that was still hot. What a nice gesture. They have bags or boxes and also had signs for frozen and day old and two days old at discount. I did get a large bags of two days old on top of fresh ones for gift. One thing for sure. I always gets stopped at TSA. This time, 4 bags, each containing hodo was stopped for additional inspection. Gripe at TSA. Looks like a large BB bomb?

fish taiyaki (pastry shaped like a fish) in OC! brings back Japan memories when I used to have them. They have 10 different flavors: cheese, Nutella, ham & cheese, Oreo, etc. Today, we tried the cocohodo partry (almond) which is really soft and melts in the mouth. The store inside Zion market looks clean organized. Service is great, nice couple.

There were 5 Taiyakis to this order, but I couldn't wait to try them before realizing I forgot to take the before pic.

I can still remember when I first tried red bean Taiyakis as a kid, and I've loved them ever since. Unfortunately, not all Taiyakis you find these days are the same, with all the variations of waffle shells.... now with the croissant versions.... and fillings also with different textures and sweetness. I do like their Cocohodos, but when they were at the previous spot inside the Zion market, for some reason, their Taiyakis seemed to have a more cakey texture, and the red bean fillings were a bit too sweet. However, they are now located in the food court section of the store, and the Taiyakis are now pretty darn amazing! ... but it needs to be made to order, fresh and hot off the grill, and eaten soon after. You just need to be careful as the fillings will be scorching hot! I'm amazed at how the Taiyakis are now a bit different than when they were selling them at the previous spot. The waffle is perfectly crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and the filling is actually really yummy! I so love the red bean and custard Taiyakis. Ok, the fillings are perhaps a bit sweeter than I would like, but overall, they're really excellent and so remind me of my childhood days. The elderly gentleman manning the counter was also very nice and was the one who made our Taiyaki order from scratch. It goes without saying that this is my go-to place for the best Taiyakis and Cocohodos in town.

This dessert place is conveniently located inside Zion Market next to Paris Baguette. They offer 5 taiyaki for $9.99 which is a great price for the amount you get. You can choose from 5 flavors: custard, taro, red bean, cheddar, and nutella. They also have some hot and cold drinks like tea and coffee. The service was great, the cashier was really nice and explained that there would be around a 10 minute wait for the items. This was no problem at all since I just browsed the market while waiting. The shop's location makes it very easy to walk around the market and come back when everything's ready. The taiyaki is served a paper to-go box with a handle. There is a lot of seating closer to the food court area, so you can take the dessert home or enjoy it there. Overall, I really enjoyed the taiyaki here and will likely come back for more, as well as to try their Korean walnut pastries!

The taiyaki here is amazing! This dessert place is located within Zion Market and I highly recommend coming here even if you're not shopping. The service is excellent and the wait is only 10 minutes because the taiyaki is made fresh. I ordered two red bean and three nutella filled taiyakis They were a little crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside; there was also the perfect amount of red bean and nutella fillings added. I look forward to going back and trying other fillings!

Cocohodo is a place you must stop in and get fresh walnut pastry and fresh Taiyaki!! Five flavors to choose! Red Bean, Custard, Taro, Oreo, and Nutella. Experiencing eating it right away when it comes off the grill. WoW!! This place is located "inside Zion Market to the left side where the food court is at". Excellent service and fun spot to take a break! Great ambiance and set so you can see them make it!! A great family business and great people!! Be back soon!!

They are located inside of Zion market. We got 5 taiyaki for $9.99 (taxes included). Service was fast. It was freshly baked (took 7-8 mins) after we placed an order. You have the options for filling as well. They were good, kind of a little sweet but I guess, it is normal to the most of people. We will be back with more family!

Highly recommend Cocohodo's Korean walnut pastry (Hodugwaja)! Located inside Irvine's Zion market along the back wall, Cocohodo is truly the perfect place to pick up some tasty snacks. They offer their signature walnut pastry along with taiyaki and even shaved ice. The walnut pastries can be purchased in either bags or gift boxes and in various quantity/size. I picked up the 36pc gift box ($20.50), and it was so nicely packaged. Freshly made every morning, these pastries were still warm in the box. The walnut pastries are bite sized cakes filled with sweetened red bean paste and walnut. The sweetness is just right to pair with a cup of tea to enjoy anytime!

Very delicious!! Great service! Super fresh!! They baked them right there and they were still warm in the gift box! They wrapped the gift boxes very quickly and they're well presentable!! The most important part is... everybody loves them! My relatives truly enjoyed them.

The walnut pastries are very tasty. They are not too sweet but the sweetness do get a little overwhelming after eating a few.

It started inside the store and extended past four other stores next to it. However, the line moved pretty decently (prob 15 minutes to get to the front). The workers were really nice... they walked out to hand-deliver each drink to customers outside. So sweet of them! There's no seating available for those looking to study here, but they do have a bench inside where you can sit while waiting for your drinks. Our order: Matcha Two (4/5): Very rich in matcha for sure, but I don't think this one was made for me. I like it more when it's infused with the berries or fruits, so maybe I'll try that next time. Not bad tho! Salted Saigon (5/5): Perfect for coffee lovers like me! Just enough sweetness in the coffee and a hint of sea salt creme on top. Nice pairings. Would def. get it again. Blueberry Matcha (5/5): My friend got this drink, and she really loved it! She said it was a total banger, and she would come back for this LOL. Definitely a must-visit spot for coffee or matcha!

Tiramisu and milk cakes aren't typically my first choice, but they looked delicious in the display case that I decided to give it a shot. We ordered the Tiramisu Milk Cake and the Saffron Milk Cake, along with a couple of Rose lattes, and they completely exceeded my expectations. Light, creamy, fluffy, and perfectly balanced. Not overly sweet, not soggy or swimming in espresso...just incredibly fresh. It's one of the best I've had in a long time. Their cakes definitely set the bar high.
