Went in on a weekday morning, wasn't too packed but there was definitely limited seating. A few people were there with laptops and working. The menu has a bit of everything. It was earlier in the day so we just wanted something simple. Opted for their Set Latte with no cinnamon, a Cold Brew, and a Salt Bread. Staff was great, and our drinks were prepared quickly. Set Latte- simple, definitely a lighter drink, but good. It was an ok drink. I wish the espresso was stronger. Cold Brew- also a light drink, not too strong. Salt Bread- they have different options but I believe we got the garlic version. It was small but delicious. Perfect garlic level. Buttery. I wish they were bigger for the price but a nice little treat. I think I would come here for my second coffee of the day. I prefer a stronger tasting drink in the morning (first coffee). But overall, the place was clean, bright, music level was not overbearing. Everyone was nice. Plenty of parking.
All Set and ready to go! So excited that the coffee scene in Chino and Chino Hills is exploding with new shops, and Set was first on my list. Came here on a Saturday afternoon to get some personal work done, and this cafe was packed! Definitely a little of a squeeze here, but as others have mentioned, there is a couple of communal tables (with plugs along the wall!) and also a lovely back room with stools and benches for more of a social vibe. By afternoon, most of their pastries were out, so opted just for my usual matcha latte half sweet. The matcha grade was nice and earthy but a little powdery, not as smooth as some of the other matchas have had, but still good! Set is in a big plaza with plenty of parking throughout, but at the specific section Set is located, the parking was pretty full. I lucked out and snagged a spot. So just beware that during peak hours, you might have to walk a little. I'll definitely be back here to get more work done, and hopefully next time I'll get to grab a pastry :)
Seems like we went during nonpeak time which was around noon. It's a pretty cool layout, the front has desks people can work on computers and then if you walk past the bathrooms it's a more secluded area to hangout without tables and more so a long bench lining the walls. Coffee was cool, the barista helped with understanding what one of the cold foams was.
SET Coffee had a decent amount of parking in front of the store. Although it is located in a large plaza, the stores next to it don't have a lot of foot traffic, from what I saw. Upon walking in, there was a long table to the left, full of people doing work on their laptops. We assumed that all the seats were taken. To our surprise, there were more spots in the back area of the coffee shop, with no one sitting there at all. It had dim lighting, aesthetic, fake olive trees, and a large mirror. The coffee barista taking our order was very nice, but we couldn't hear him at all. We ended up ordering their SET tonic and their SET latte. Their tonic was made with green plum, which is different than the common Yuzu. The turn around time for drinks was under five minutes. We brought out drinks to the back and took some photos. The seating arrangement was quite uncomfortable, although the seats had a purpose; you can sit and do work in numerous ways, giving creative room for comfortability. Yet, to sit normally, I don't imagine myself doing work there. The drinks weren't special and I felt as though I could get the same latte at a generic coffee shop. Nothing about my latte made it stand out or memorable. The coffee is strong, which is different than other lattes. I can say I'm slightly disappointed. Nevertheless, it's an aesthetically pleasing shop, but I don't expect myself to come back for another visit.
5/1/2026 SET-SPANNER I came to Set to try this drink. I just wanted to try something new and different and sadly, this drink did not deliver. It did have a strong hazelnut coffee flavor right off the bat, but it all went downhill from there. The injeolmi cold foam on top did taste like soybean powder, but flavor was not as strong as I hoped. And because of the nature of the soybean powder, it was grainy in texture. When mixed all together, it vaguely tastes like biscoff coffee. But the injeolmi cold foam was so thick and some parts of it sat at the bottom of the drink and texture felt disgusting as you drink it. I did mix it, but still, it was just not what I wanted as an overall texture and mouthfeel. Given the name, it seems it's their signature drink too. There were pastries sold as well, but most of it were sold out. Since we also had to pay in cash because their computers were down, I decided against purchasing anything more. CUSTOMER SERVICE Just as I got there in the late afternoon, there were so many factors working against my experience at Set, the computer system was down, so they could not accept credit cards, so only cash was accepted. They apologized for it, but that meant the wait time was much longer than expected. Another factor, it seems they only had one barista working today, which made the wait time super long! Then, I was the very last person to receive my drink out of everyone who came in the afternoon. I believe there were people who came after me that got their drinks before me, which contributed to an even unhappier experience. So many negative factors contributed to my negative experience. And then... the coffee. SEATS/ AMBIANCE Right at the front, there's three long communal tables at the front and most of the seats were taken. In the back there are more seats and tables. But it was in disarray. It was messy and disorganized. Wish staff took care of this space better. Slow jams, R&B playing in the background really loudly. The music selections were good, just LOUD. PARKING Located at an outdoor mall, so there's plenty of parking all around. Will I be back? Most likely not.
Bright, busy coffee shop that opened recently that's a good place to study in. I got their salted butter bread along with a chocolate croissant to try. The wait time was not long for my order and the bread was hot; the croissant was flaky with a good amount of chocolate inside. The staff is nice and the place is clean.
I had a below average experience at SET Coffee (Chino). I ordered the Set-Spanner ($7.25). It's Injeolmi Cold Foam, Espresso, and Hazelnut. The drink will wake you up. However, it tastes like watered down, gritty, nutty protein powder. It tastes poorly prepared and frugal. I arrived at SET Coffee (Chino) on Monday (around 9:16AM). Parking is easy. The lot is very big. Staff is friendly and welcoming. However, it's strange how I had to tell Staff that their charged price didn't match the menu price (ex: cash register said $7.50 while menu said $7.25). Staff immediately apologized and fixed the issue; Staff explained that they didn't update the system yet.... My drink took about two minutes. Fast. As mentioned, I disliked the Set-Spanner ($7.25). It all tastes like budget cuts. The ice is HUGE and PACKED; the coffee flavor is heavily watered down; and the prevailing flavor is bitter nutty grits. Fortunately, the enduring caffeine has utility. Thankfully, SET Coffee (Chino) is a study/work paradise. I can easily understand desperate college students using this place. There's about eight electrical outlets! AMAZING!! There's also customer internet with password; details are written on the counter's barrier in white ink. The location also has an attractive hidden backroom which has cute greenery and sleek reflective decor. The utility of the space is what saves this experience. In addition, SET Coffee (Chino) has a self-service water station. There's also a gender neutral restroom, and I enjoyed the smooth, rhythmic music. The location is also clean and well-ventilated. Overall, SET Coffee (Chino) is a HUGE disappointment. It's not awful, but in good conscience, I won't ever recommend this location as is. In the end, I left SET Coffee (Chino) with a fake smile and a bitter heart. 2.9 out of 5

Ordered togo coffee on 5/9/26 around 10:30 am. There was a wait for this coffee shop. Even if you have to wait, you are waiting in the shade so that's not too bad. Ambiance: Chill spot to sit down and just hang out. I like their back area. Pretty cool. Parking: plenty of parking Drink: Kyoto Cold Brew - 4/5, not too strong of coffee flavor and light. Worth trying just once, but I want to try their other flavors next time
Saw this just opened recently so decided to check them out. It is a nice looking coffee spot. Interior looks pretty cool. Besides the main area they also have some more seating in the back. I ordered the Strawberry Fizzy Lemonade. Drink came out so quick. The staffs were chill and friendly. I enjoyed my drink. It was good and refreshing.
There's a lot of hype around Set with lines outside the door and for good reason. In a boom of coffee shops in the Chino/Chino Hills area, I keep coming back for the Set latte. Always bustling with people studying, talking, or just Vibing, you really feel a vibe inside that's enjoyable and relaxing.
Right atmosphere, A1 coffee, efficient service. What more can you ask for from a new coffee shop making its debut in Chino Hills? Was lucky enough to check this spot out before their grand opening day. Came back during the actual day and line was reminiscent of Black Friday. But that really just speaks to the anticipation and success of a well thought out space. I don't know if I can ever explore more of their menu because I'm still stuck on their Set Spanner. Congrats to the crew! I'll be back as a repeat customer.

Tried the Set Spanner Latte (half sweet, light foam) and really enjoyed it. The coffee flavor still shined through, which I appreciated. At first, the foam had a slightly savory taste, but once everything was mixed together it developed a nutty, almost Biscoff-like flavor that really grew on me. I ended up finishing the entire drink! The space is thoughtfully designed with a great balance between work-friendly seating and a separate back area for conversation. The overall vibe was welcoming, and they made excellent use of the space. My only small critique is that the seating at the long communal tables could be a bit more comfortable for longer stays. Overall, a really good experience, and I'd definitely come back. read more
Love place because of the drinks but specially the interior!! There's a lot of seating with wifi that didn't really work for me though, so you can probably study here~ It's super modern with cute seating both in the front and back. I got the Set-Spanner which was so good and sweet but not overbearingly sweet and my friend got the tonic which she liked! I'd come back here just to study or even read a book! read more

Amazing quality, everything was super tasty and honestly just really well done. The set-spanner is out of this world and easily one of the best drinks I've had. The ube matcha is the best matcha I've ever tried, the flavor is so smooth and different in a good way. The shop itself is super unique and the layout is amazing. They have a nice study area if you want to get work done and also a more social community space which is a cool balance. Their merch is actually really high quality too, I ended up buying a jacket and I'm really happy with it. Staff and owners are some of the best, super welcoming and you can tell they care about what they're building. Definitely a spot worth coming back to. read more
Set coffee is an amazing place for your coffee desires. I loved learning about the backstory of their name being "Set" the number 3 in Korean for the three founders of this shop. The decor inside is relaxing for you and your party to unplug and enjoy each other's company. It is a delight to be inside with great music that sets you in a pleasant mood. There is a new back room area for bigger groups or even events. The line was out the door when we arrived, but the staff moved so fast that we barely waited. The coffee was very good. We ordered all three of the signature drinks, and the Set Spanner was the star of the show. It was crafted after a Korean rice cake dish, and they nailed it to perfection. The tonic coffee was also great. I am a fan of sparkling water so it was great for me. The pastries are also good. The salt bread with garlic cream is a must try. read more
SET Coffee is one of the most beautiful coffee shops I've ever been to. The front seating area has beautiful and large tables with bright lighting but the area in the back is warm and homey, like a comfort space. I felt like I was transported to a completely different space with their aesthetic & high ceilings. Service was friendly and welcoming upon entry and the space was remarkably clean. Drinks are reasonably priced, not too much ice and appropriate sizing yay! Set Spanner (8/10): The coffee in this was sooo yum. The cold foam really does taste like injeolmi haha which unfamiliar (at least in coffee for me) but pleasant! Set Latte (7.5/10): Liked the cinnamon in this! It wasn't too overbearing, complimented the brown sugar and honey very well. Reminded me a little of a Spanish Latte. Matcha Einspanner (8/10): Decent matcha, I wouldn't say my favorite but I would still get it again. I like their cold foam it wasn't too thick and was delicious. Strawberry Matcha (8.5/10): Whatever they use for the strawberry flavor complimented the matcha taste well and was very refreshing. Excited to see this place flourish in Chino and would make the drive for another visit! read more
I'm a sucker for these cute cafes, it's a good spot to go and just enjoy your drink, rather than grab and go and don't really know how your coffee tastes like. The shop is relatively small, with a communal table and a few 2 person tables in the back. Depending on what your visit should be, maybe bring noise cancelling headphones in case people are there to chit chat. There were a few people working when I visited. Their menu isn't much, but got the basics and 3 specialty drinks: injeolmi (Korean soybean powder, think kinako in Japanese desserts) latte, green plum espresso tonic, and a cinnamon latte. They have pastries from Long Beach, Nonna Mercado, I believe? I was stopping by before meeting up for breakfast so didn't try any. I went with their espresso tonic, highly recommending this for those who want something refreshing instead of a sweet/creamy drink. My friend got their injeolmi latte, which had that sweet and creamy taste. It was delicious, the worker there said it's their most popular drink, makes sense. Did I taste much of a soybean powdery taste? Nope, but I also find kinako mochi super plain. By the way, they serve Onyx coffee here, which has recently won #1 in world's best coffee. Another plus! I wish all these shops came sooner! But I'm glad they're here now. I love that I can grab a really great coffee for my target/ tjmaxx stops that doesn't involve Starbucks. The location has tons of parking and is centered in a large shopping center, with close by shopping as mentioned above. The inside of the store is intentional with a minimalistic order counter, letting there be more space to sit, work or meet with friends. I'm lucky enough to have been twice before their grand opening and the coffee is great. The employees are so, so welcoming and friendly. I never felt rushed to order or just another customer. You would never know they were in a soft opening phase with both the crowds, and quality of drink. They've been quick to push out the drinks leaving minimal wait time. I ordered my standard Spanish latte and they do it well. Their menu is expansive beyond the normal lattes, including their own signature drinks. read more

I am in love with SET coffee. The Set - Spanner is phenomenal! The Set - Spanner is my go to drink & it hits every time. The ambiance is always on point & their music selection never misses. I brought my mother in for a drink and she tipped alone based on the music & was impressed that the barista was singing along to the song - hahah. I believe Smokey Robinson was playing. The staff is always super friendly even on the busiest of mornings. Friendly staff + great drinks = 10/10. read more

This spot is amazing for studying and chilling. I love this small coffee shop. They just opened a few months ago and they are doing such a great job both in service and quality. I've tried so many matcha lattes around the I.E. and this spot is one of my favorites. Definitely on the top ten chart. (They have alternatives for syrups, milk, and different soft tops) Go support them! They have pastries, coffee, matcha, and much more! read more
Saw that this cafe opened and wanted to give it a try. This place is great!! First, the drinks have been really good. I've been able to come by a few times and try a few different ones. The SET Latte is really good, it's sweet and maintains a nice coffee flavor. I love the thickness of the cold foam in the SET-Spanner as well. I've also ordered a Cortado and was impressed! Beyond drinks, they have pastries, which looked great. Honestly, what I like most about this cafe is the environment. This is a great place to do work, study, or just hang out. There are plenty of tables to sit at and outlets at each table in the front room, so you can charge your laptop or phone. The clean, minimalist decor throughout the cafe is nice (love all the vinyl albums they put up!). The large windows in front bring in a lot of light, which is nice if you're working or hanging there for a while. The back room is really cool too, it feels like a separate little pocket with a lot of seating as well. The staff have been very friendly and helpful when I've asked any questions or for recommendations. The wait has for my drinks has been short as well. Parking was very easy to find outside the cafe. I'll be back and definitely recommend this cafe to anyone looking for great coffee and good place to work/relax! read more
TLDR - Set- Spanner is impressive, everything else is a little lackluster. By no means is 3 stars a BAD review by my metrics, on the other hand, to me 3 stars means I would definitely stop by if I was in the area and wanted a coffee. We got all of their signatures and an iced americano. A set-spanner, their signature spanish latte, and their set tonic. The set spanner was very tasty- the cream top complements their hazelnut latte very well. If i stopped by, this is what I would order. Their spanish tastes like every other spanish latte I've ever had. Nothing impressive but nothing to dock points on. Their set tonic was the drink I had the highest expectations for. Its supposed to be sweetener with mesil - a korean plum extract. However, it was a little lackluster as the plum flavor didn't pop out at all even though I asked them for more of it, I'm not sure if its because it wasn't dissolved well or because it's not that strong but I would've liked the plum flavor to just come out a little more. The service was good and overall I'd recommend trying it out. read more

We tried the ube matcha latte and set latte. We got less sweet for both and that was perfect for us. The ube foam is very creamy and strong but it does overpower the matcha a little bit, so if you're looking for a strong matcha drink I would get something else! I loved how the sweet ube and coconut paired together with the hint of bitterness of the matcha though. The latte was good too, the injeolmi flavor was very strong. i tried their matcha latte with ube cold foam and WOWW, i HIGHLY recommend. the drink itself was a nice balance of the matcha taste + sweetness (the cold foam was soooo good). the workers there were super sweet with diligent service, and the vibe of the cafe was sooo clean and aesthetic. there was decent amount of seating for studying and overall, i highly recommend. read more

This place is packed !! Come early. When you walk in you're welcomed with a calm aesthetic that's very eye candy like (is that a word lol). The owner was super nice giving my cousin & I recommendations on what's popular & what to get since it was our first time. I got their matcha einspanner, it was a perfect mixture of sweet & earthy. I was here on a Thursday morning at 10. There was a line when I got there. This was because the customers were studying the menu by the register. I don't know why the store doesn't have a menu on the wall or hand outs. So customers can only see it when it's their turn to order at the front. Anyways, I ordered a hot hazelnut latte. I was surprised to see how small it was. 10 oz for a $7 latte and I tipped $1. I mean it was smooth and delicious. But $8 for a baby sized latte? Customer service could be more friendly. I decided to stop by Set Coffee this morning, and am glad I did! Walking into the spot, noticed everything was clean and gave a calm feeling! I wasn't sure what to order and you can never go wrong with their Specialties! So I went with the Set -Spanner. It had hazelnut so that's what caught my eye on the menu. this drink, you have to try, it's soooo good! The foam, espresso, hazelnut was WOW! I also ordered the Kimchi/Spam croissant also a good choice! Everything about my experience was great, from the customer service, wait time and coffee and croissant...I will be back for sure!! read more

I went again to try the einspanner and unfortunately I won't be returning for awhile. The drink was same as the last time I got it, it barely had any sea salt cold foam topping and I could barely taste the matcha. There is definitely a fine line between matcha and just milk and unfortunately the einspanner here leans toward the milk. I truly hope I can come back one and have an einspanner reminiscent of the first couple months of opening. This place honestly was the closest I could find to airoma's einspanner, but not anymore. read more

Saw this place on TikTok and wanted to support local businesses around the area. Honestly, though, I thought drinks were VERY MID, and I don't think they were worth the price. Btw, it was $15 for two drinks. I got a matcha einspanner and set-spanner for my bf that was recommended by the worker who took my order. The worker was very nice and helpful, and the vibe of the store was clean and trendy. However, the hype of the store did not live up to my expectations. First off, the cream top of my matcha einspanner was very thin and sank; at that point, it was like there was no cream top at all. Also, the matcha seemed like it wasn't whisked and incorporated well since it was grainy and all at the bottom of the cup. I had to mix well for the matcha flavor to be somewhat apparent, while the grainy pieces made the drink taste like I was drinking micro pieces of grass. The graininess and lack of matcha flavor kind of made the drink a bit unpleasant to drink. Next, for the set-spanner, the cream top was a bit better since it was thicker and I could visibly see and taste it. Also, there was the same problem with the drink being very grainy, but that is probably due to the injeolmi, although I've had other injeolmi coffee drinks that weren't this grainy. Despite the graininess, the drink had a mild coffee flavor that I wish were stronger. Btw, I ordered these two drinks with less ice as well so that the flavor profile would not dilute on my drive home, which was about 10 mins. Yet, from my experience, I don't think the drinks are that good or unique for the price. Since this place just opened, hopefully they can work on building and perfecting the quality of their drinks. Once they get there, I'll probably try again in the future! read more

Seen this coffee shop and decided to give it a try since I was in the area . I got the Spanish latte iced and it was so good . It has a strong coffee taste and not super sweet . The inside has some seating and is clean . Service was good and fast read more
