New place for me to go to. Very calm and quiet place to do your homework or do your personal work on your laptop. I was hoping for some baked goodies but it was so limited. However, their menu is unique. I may try other coffee next time. The vanilla latte was not bad !
I've been obsessed with peanut lattes so I was so excited to try out Commence Coffee when I learned of their signature peanut mousse latte! First off, the cafe is so spacious and has plenty of seating. Perfect for studying or hanging out. The baristas were so sweet as well! I got the peanut mousse latte of course! So delicious. The peanut mousse was so balanced in flavor intensity and sweetness. I really enjoyed their coffee blend too. Not bitter at all. The corn salt bread was also calling my name through the pastry display window. Honestly, it was just ok. I think I'd prefer their plain salt bread the next time I stop by.
New coffee shop in Chino Hills has potential. I was in the shopping center at a nearby establishment when I noticed Commemnce and decided to give it a try. I walked in to see a very plain establishment where the walls were sparsely decorated. The smell was not inviting...not a bad smell but def not an inviting (e.g., coffee) smell. There were a few tables (more tables on average than other lical coffee shops), and most were occupied. The place was relatively quiet. I was fourth in line. The service moved us through quickly. However, the workers interacted in a somewhat lackluster manner with customers, including myself, not smiling or inviting to people. I was finally able to tease a small smile out of the worker. I ordered a hot caffe latte. Maybe 12 ounces? The design on top was nice, not that I really care what the drink looks like. The latte itself was okay. Not great, not bad. Maybe a little bit better than a popular Seattle-based chain , but nothing to write home about. I will prob give Commence another try...maybe one of their sweet drinks, although I prefer unsweetened coffee drinks. I tend to judge a coffee place by what it can do without the add-ons (e.g., sweeteners), because I am looking for a quality COFFEE experience.
The coffee quality is consistent & well-balanced. My favorites are the peanut mousse latte and the golden latte from the secret menu (corn and banana). Drinks are made fast. The only thing I'd love to see is an earlier opening time, like 7:30am to grab a drink before work. Other than that, it's one of my go-to coffee spots in Chino Hills.
I had a magical, memorable experience at Commence Coffee (Chino Hills). I ordered the Peanut Mousse Latte ($7.75). It's two shots of espresso, peanut mousse, house milk, syrup, and crushed peanuts. This iced, velvety coffee tastes like creamy peanut butter!! AMAZING! I wiped away tears of joy. It's one of the best. I arrived at Commence Coffee (Chino Hills) on Monday (around 10:36AM). Parking is EASY. The lot is HUGE. Staff is very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Staff (receipt says Jillian) politely & quickly answered all my questions. Jillian also gave wonderful recommendations. My coffee took one minute and 43 seconds. FAST! As mentioned, I ordered the Peanut Mousse Latte ($7.75). It's AMAZING! It perfectly balances flavor with utility. I felt awake and perky after sipping. The flavor of fresh coffee was also not masked; rather, the taste of creamy, velvety peanut butter happily rammed itself into that roast. Intense joy pummeled HARD & repeatedly as I felt myself go lax and fall lazily across the chair. I found momentary bliss with each sip. I found happiness. On ambiance, Commence Coffee (Chino Hills) is clean, well-ventilated, and comfortable. The location has customer internet with password; details are displayed on the counter. There's also about five accessible electrical outlets. In addition, Commence Coffee (Chino Hills) has five round tables, five tiny, stubby tables, and one counter. The location felt spacious with its tall ceiling, and it's airy and well-ventilated. There's also a gender neutral restroom in the back. I also appreciated the soft, upbeat music. Overall, I found unexpected perfection at Commence Coffee (Chino Hills). That Peanut Mousse Latte ($7.75) is unique and special. It's one of the best coffees that I've ever had. In the end, I left awake and euphoric. If you love coffee, just go. Go. 5 out of 5. GO!!!!
Very spacious, clean and modern cafe. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk. They charge $1 for milk alternatives which is quite pricey compared to other places. The matcha is pre-made, so you can't adjust anything. So I paid nearly $9 for a premade matcha mixture. If you are charging for a high price then I believe you need to have the quality (unfortunately they don't). The matcha tasted like matcha flavored oat milk, it is does not have the umami flavor nor the green tea aroma. One thing they got is that it is not smooth, so they at mixed the matcha mixture together well. I would give the drink 3/5, it is not bad but definitely not recommended. The service was great. Employees were friendly and helpful. Their WiFi is only good for 1 hour, so definitely not a place for studying.

Happy to report that I have a new favorite coffee shop! Visited here with a friend to try their seasonal special blueberry lemon matcha latte, and returned just a few days later to try it again! The matcha taste does get masked a bit by the blueberry and lemon zest, but the combination of flavors makes this such a delectable drink. They also have a selection of pastries for those who like a snack with their drink. The volume of the store varies across the day; when I went on a weekday morning it was very quiet with plenty of spaces to sit and study. As the day went on it got busier and all the seats got taken up, but thankfully the noise doesn't bother me too much while studying. The only thing is their drinks are quite pricey, especially for those who are very lactose intolerant like me and always have to make milk subs :") Overall, I will be frequenting this coffee shop! Can't wait to come back and try their peanut latte!
The peanut mousse latte is so good you guys! I really love how the peanut flavor comes through without being too overwhelming, and the mousse makes it feel extra indulgent. Honestly, it's such a unique and delicious drink. I think the only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that I have to chew the peanut bits lol definitely recommend it though
I noticed Commence coffee from visiting Toto Tea next door previously. As I skimmed through their menu on Yelp, I knew I wanted to try their Peanut Mousse latte. Came down on a Saturday morning, 10 ish. Few people inside. I ordered the Peanut Mousse with an add shot, Biscoff Croisant, & Pain Au Chocolat (warmed up). The pastry's were amazing. They deserved a solid 10/10. Now the Peanut Mousse was a game changer. I had a peanut butter latte in France and haven't had anything close to it since. This had to be one of my favorite lattes. I'm going to be honest, I was distracted with two kiddos that I forgot to ask for Breve as my milk choice. However it came was great and strong. They have a reward system that I signed up for. It started to pick up around 11 with a line almost out the door. I would recommend and would come back when in Chino Hills. Again I was distracted when it came to paying. So not 100% cost of everything, but seemed reasonable for quality.
Came in here not knowing what to get. Very nice server recommended the Peanut Moose Latte. Not my usual order but thought why not... I am hooked and been coming back ever since. Spacious interior with simple modern decor, decent amount of seating, all around good vibes man, what more can you ask for? Even in the midst of stacked competition in this complex, I'm still coming back here for my drink.
One of the better matcha lattes in the area but the price is steep! I'd rather make the trek to OC for the same, if not better, matcha quality but for less. The peanut mousse latte is pretty good! Looking forward to trying the banana milk corn drink when it's released the next few weeks :)
Good space to study or hangout with friends! I got there just before 11am and was able to get a table, but does get busy after 11. I got a turkey and provolone croissant which was pretty good. I also got a butterscotch latte which was sweet and strong if you need something to give you a boost of energy! It was my first time here and I see myself coming back in the future to try the matcha next time.

A comfy coffee shop, located in a business plaza that has ample seating with minimalistic interior design and soft easy listening music in the background. The staff is nice and they are fast with their setvices, especially with all their to go orders. I ordered the Vanilla Latte which was pretty good. read more
Before heading here, their peanut mousse latte caught my attention. My mind didn't change when I arrived. I got it with oat milk and very much enjoyed it. It had bits of peanuts and was not too sweet. Additionally, I got the biscoff croissant. The cream was on the sweeter side but it balances well with the croissant and the latte. Although it was good, it was a bit inconvenient to eat because it was given in a pastry bag versus a plate. The cream would get pushed further into the back of the bag with every bite. I went there around 10:30 AM on a Saturday and it was pretty busy at the time. However, I was able to grab a seat in the corner with an outlet underneath. There is WiFi available but it was limited to 1 hour. It could get a bit noisy from larger groups and music was at a moderate level as well. There were no issues with finding parking, since this is located in a large plaza. American Express is accepted as a payment option. Overall, it was a decent spot to get some work done with good coffee and pastries. read more

Commence Coffee serves a great latte--easily one of the highlights here. It has a subtle, peanut-like aftertaste that really stands out in a good way. The milk they use isn't as bold or heavy as what you'd find at some specialty cafés, but the overall flavor still comes together nicely. We also really enjoyed the hojicha + espresso latte. It's a great combination--earthy, roasty, and smooth with enough espresso strength to keep it balanced. Service was perfectly fine, and everything came out in a timely manner. The space itself is pretty aesthetic too--clean, modern, and thoughtfully styled without feeling overdone. It's a pleasant spot to sit and enjoy your drinks. Came on a Saturday around 9:30 am. Plenty of parking in a large lot. Good number of tables inside and the space is clean, though minimal on decor. I ordered a peanut mousse latte at 25% sweetness. Really strong peanut flavor and the mousse pairs well with the coffee. A bit too much milk though, which dulls the coffee taste. I think this drink would work better in a 12 oz, but they only offer 16 oz. Staff was friendly and quick. The line was consistently long, which speaks to its popularity. I'd come back. read more
FYI: Commence Coffee is still in the soft launch opening phase and looking to open Feb 14th weekend! I'm always down to find a good matcha and this place def has a good one. The Garden Matcha is a "double matcha" which means a regular matcha latte with matcha cream foam (not a double shot). For the matcha alone, I would rate it a solid 8.5. I also tried the strawberry and cream croissant which was decent in taste. I could tell that the cream was homemade whipped cream and the strawberries were surprisingly sweet for not being in season right now. In full transparency, I've had better versions elsewhere but it was still a 7/10. I agree with some of the other reviews/critiques that drinks are on the pricier side. I paid $9.70 for the matcha + oat milk. But overall, staff were extremely friendly and I felt like there was a lot of space and natural lighting in the space. Needed a pick me up after a long night of New Year's celebrations. Found this spot on Yelp, love that they serve ceremonial matcha. They're still in soft opening and some items on menu are still "coming soon". There are handful of tables inside but all were occupied by people working from their laptops when I stopped by around 11am. If you come by early maybe you can snag one, spot seems pretty quiet but lively enough to people watch while you work. Tons of parking in a shared plaza. Matcha Latte -order it iced. Decent matcha but not as strong as I preferred. Smooth and not grainy, not too sweet. Hojicha Latte -as expected, not too sweet either. read more
I came here with my family once and they were out of their matcha cream/matcha so we left and came back another day. This shop is located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. There was a small line but it went quickly. I got their double matcha which was good. Overall a spacious coffee shop and tables fill up quickly with people working. Soft opening at Commence Coffee today (12/20/25)! I tried their signature peanut mousse and it was so good -- just sweet enough and perfect if you love peanut butter. Their milk options are whole milk and oat milk (70 cents extra I think), and they're doing free tote bags until they run out for the soft opening (12/20/25). Good amount of indoor seating with outlets. Some outdoor seating too. The staff was friendly and service was quick -- my drink was ready in a couple of minutes. Cute new spot, definitely adding this to my rotation. read more

Wow. I actually enjoyed my coffee today. I came to Commence Coffee on a whim today, but glad that I did. This is their new Okinawa coffee drink. I can't remember the exact name, but the sign said it's made with brown sugar from Okinawa. A lot of the time I'm let down by coffee drinks that are overly sweet, but this latte was simple and delicious. read more

I got the Peanut Mousse Latte, and my boyfriend got the Butterscotch Latte. Both were delicious, but I personally enjoyed the Butterscotch Latte a bit more. Both drinks were very flavorful, rich, and creamy. The Peanut Mousse Latte was especially unique in a good way-- something I'd never tried before, which I really liked. I will definitely be back for other menu items. read more
PEANUT MOUSSE LATTE. That's all. I come here a lot lol and my favorite is the Peanut Mousse Latte. The perfect amount of sweetness and nuttiness from the peanut. Solid espresso = makes a great latte. Their Garden Walk (Double Matcha) is pretty solid as well. Great drinks. Service- the owner is great! Very kind and nice. Ambiance- there's seating but it gets full so come early if you want working space. Plenty of parking outside. read more

Finally tried commence coffee which I've been wanting to try for a while now. The first thing I got was their signature peanut mousse latte. I got it with 50% sweet, less ice, and oat milk. I'm absolutely obsessed with the peanut mousse!! It was my first time trying a very peanut forward drink. I do wish they could add more espresso though since I felt that the coffee flavor was drowned with the sweetness of the drink. I got to try a sample the blueberry lemon matcha latte which is a seasonal drink. It was really good even though I usually don't like flavored matcha drinks. But of course since it was a sample it was using the default milk and sweetness, which I would change if I were to get it myself. I came back a couple of days later and tried the garden walk which is a matcha latte with matcha cream foam. I got it with no sugar, oat milk, and less ice. Overall it was good, but I would like it better if I could have a bit more matcha and less foam. Also the foam was way too sweet in my opinion. Next time if I get a matcha drink I'll get something less desserty. The place is nice to sit and chat, it was pretty empty on a weekday but it gets crowded on weekends. The drinks are pretty pricey (around $9 with substitutions), so considering how pricey they are I think it would be nicer if they could make the drinks stronger (more matcha, more espresso), but otherwise the drinks overall taste pretty good and can definitely compete with many of the other korean / dessert style cafes in socal read more

The Peanut Mousse Latte here is freakin delicious. I've been meaning to come back and finally was able to stop by today. I only got one drink but the peanut mousse latte will have me coming back again and again. I've tried peanut lattes at other places and they just don't hit quite the same as Commence. Baristas are really friendly. I felt welcomed and was greeted the second I came in. I was greeted by name when my drink was ready and thanked for stopping by as well. 5/5 read more

Love this place! So happy it opened near us. Every experience coming in has been better and better. Cierra helped us today and as a business owner myself it's so refreshing to get top tier customer service!!! One of the best matcha places in the IE. The inside is so spacious with a lot of room to sit & wait for your beverage, they also have baked goods (which I need to try soon)! The garden walk is a double matcha that puts airoma to rest. It's so smooth, not too sweet & not too earthy - just the perfect balance of what real authentic matcha is. commence is soo yum! i tried the peanut butter latte and the butterscotch latte -- loved both! i went in pretty early in the morning and all their pastries were stocked. it looked so noms! definitely will be back to try more! staff was so nice too so that's always a bonus :D read more
I found this hidden gem on tiktok so i decided to give it a try. The inside is super bright, on the louder side and open. There was a good amount of seats but it was pretty busy around 9am! I ordered the butterscotch latte and a matcha latte with no ice. It was around 15$+ for just these two items. I feel like it was a little more expensive than i would have anticipated considering the cups are small. They only have one size which is the size of a labubu lol. My latte wasn't the best honestly. It barley had any flavor and the milk was very overpowering. It kinda tasted like it barely had even 1 shot of espresso. Surprisingly the matcha latte was very delicious. It was flavorful and full bodied. My rating is mostly for the matcha latte. I also felt they took a while to prepare the drinks compared to other places i've been to before. read more
Decided to give the newest coffee spot in the area a try. It's located in a decent sized plaza with lots of parking. The coffee shop is a few doors down from Torotea. The inside is a good size with handful of seating - simple aesthetic. Service was fine too. Tried the iced hojicha with oat milk. Loved the flavor of the hojicha (i think some people mention that their drinks are sweet but the hojicha one was fine). It didn't bother me but the drink has a bit of a powder texture. Price can be a little steep since they charge almost $1 extra for oat milk. But would come back to try their other drinks! read more
