J sweets is a cute llittle corner sweets shop within Irvine Mitsuwa that carries many Royce chocolate variants with a few other brands (cream puffs, flat filling crackers, crunch rolls im not doing the best job describing these but hope the pictures help) that's a quick stop for picking up a gift for someone/special occasion or replenishing your own snack inventory! Staff here were extremely polite, professional, and always helpful if you are not sure what to get/overwhelmed by options but know what specific dessert taste you are looking for.

So good! Nice experience I try a few items from J. Sweets and they were delicious, we choose the champagne chocolates and the matcha bun and they were really good, something that you can buy to treat yourself, also a good idea for a gift, they have te right size for a treat also the place is pretty big they have a very big menu and other delicious desserts, the lady of the staff is very friendly and she explains all what they have in case people needs some help. Thanks

I LOVE the mochi ice cream from J. Sweets. My favorite flavor is the Double Mango. I have been going here for years and I tell everyone about it. NOTe: The Mochi is sold frozen and it takes 20 minutes to thaw.

Delicious Mochi. I ended up getting the Strawberry Shortcake and Cherry Blossom Mochi.

The MochiCreams are delicious! Every time I order a Milk Tea next door, I always grab a MochiCream from J Sweets while I wait for my drink. The Mochi is frozen when you first get them so they recommend you wait 30 minutes to eat them. When you do..... It's just the perfect soft mochi texture and flavor. It's not too strong in flavor, just a nice mild taste. I love it. I've tried the: Strawberry Shortcake, Double Mango and Sakura. My favorite is the Strawberry Shortcake, it tastes soo good! A definite must try. Thank you J Sweets for the MochiCreams!

Our first time trying Mochi here, so good! They're not that expensive in my opinion and so soft, not too sweet flavors. I tried the peach, cherry blossom and mango. All were so good and lightly fragrant. I'm not sure if it was because we came close to closing but it was a bit off that they gave us the mochis frozen. Once they defrosted and softened though... they're really good, great quality. The service was polite and nice, I will be back to buy more.

The Mochi Cream assortment of flavors are unique and they're a great dessert on a hot day. Colorful and delicious, making them a good fresh food gift or as a treat for yourself. They're served frozen so you'll need to give it about 5-10 minutes to get softer before eating.

    Holy Cows!!! Soooo good!

I usually only come to Mitsuwa for ramen in the food court, so have always eyed this place as I enter and leave, but never tried because by the time I'm done eating, I'm too full to try anything else. Until now... Curious taste buds needed to get wind of a mochi. Didn't even bother to consult Yelp. Kids didn't want any, but that wasn't going to dissuade me. The lady at the counter was alright. If you want mochi, just point, pick, choose. Easy, peasy. Chose the green tea. They are frozen and ready to eat in 15-20 minutes. The thing I love about Japanese desserts is that they are known to be light, airy, and not doused in sugar. This mochi is filled with a whipped cream type of filling. It was almost perfect, like biting into a chewy but soft bread. That's probably not an accurate description, so sorry if my description sucks.

The five stars goes to Kim, the hostess with the winning smile. She was such a sweetheart and she answered all of our questions! The mochi flavors that she recommended were amazing. Each mochi had a subtle taste in the beginning and a blast of deliciousness in the center. Thanks for the great service Kim, will definitely come back!

Delicious mochi! They were so kind to include extras as part of a special. It's a little hard to find at the very back of the store.

The texture of their mochi is chewy and their filling is just the right amount of sweetness. Their mango mochi is my favorite.

Matcha is my favorite and my friend loves the Double Mango, but all the flavors I've tried are amazing!

My favorite chocolates are made in Switzerland, Belgium, and Japan…read more So I was pleasantly surprised to find a Läderach Chocolate shop while walking around South Coast Plaza. They were handing out samples of their hazelnut chocolate bars, and after one bite, I knew I had to step inside to look around and try some more. Such luxuriously rich and smooth chocolate morsels that melt so exquisitely in your mouth (where you can taste and smell the layers of quality ingredients contained in each piece). Really took me back to my last trip to Switzerland when I overindulged in chocolates and fondue (and it was so very worth it). Pricing is by the pound if you get items a la carte. Truffles and pralines are $84 per lb (works out to be average of $3 per piece) and their chocolate bark bars (aka FrischSchoggi) are about $60 to $64 per lb. Otherwise there are prepackaged boxes at set prices ranging from about $20 to $150 and more. Today I sampled the hazelnut chocolate bar, pava praline square, a white chocolate espresso truffle, and a champagne truffle. I ultimately decided to purchase the pava praline set (comes with 8 pieces) and 5 pieces of the white chocolate expresso truffles. Total was just under $40. Truffles came in nicely designed, minimalistic boxes. They are located on the second floor of the Bloomingdale's wing of South Coast Plaza, above Sephora.

Only recently was I able to visit and try their croffles and other sweets. Did NOT know that this was inside the H Mart food court in Diamond Jamboree. Parking is horrendous and the driving there is horrendous as well. Probably the easiest and least horrifying option just to automatically default to is to just park in the overflow lot right next to the plaza. There's no indicator for the parking garage so on a particularly busy day, you can head all the way to the top, find nothing and navigate through the hell crowds trying to leave. Ambiance is a very casual, counter order business in the food court. There's seating there, but we ate really close by. Definitely something you have to eat immediately or the texture will not be optimal or it might get soggy. We got the tiramisu croffle and they toasted it and put it together for us there. The lady working there packed it up nicely in a to go box and we got some cookies (regular ones and almond crisp ones). It's a bit sweet, but they're dessert pastries so that makes sense. Goes great with a brewed cup of tea. Croffle had a nice semi-chewy texture and the tiramisu flavor added a bit of a coffee taste to it. Good balance of the cream and croffle. The cookie wasn't too bad either. Overall not a bad to go dessert spot.

I found the inside decor a bit unexpected, the green walls, the dark vibe with gold accents. It reminded me of a chic lounge or den. I was happy to see they sold drinks and baked goodies. I wasn't in the mood for coffee or a drink, but decided to check out the sweet treats. I was so excited they had Portuguese egg tarts. I am very familiar with the Asian egg tarts, but I haven't had the Portuguese kind. I was eyeing up the banana pudding, but I decided to not get it. Prices seemed a bit high so we just went for 4 egg tarts. We relaxed a bit while our order was ready. They warmed them up, I decided to try one since I am not from this area. MY, oh MY, oh my!!!!!!!!?!!!!!?!!?!!! They were so good, the outside was super flakey, not greasy. The egg center was warm, not too 'eggy' and the sweetness level was just perfect. They were honestly to die for. I contemplated for a few minutes to BUY MORE even though I had only eaten one. I thought, I'm not from this area, so I might as well get more! I ended up getting 5 more, each tart leans on the expensive side for how small they are, but they are mighty delicious!!! I also decided to try the sea salt chocolate chip cookie: Classic Cookie. Traditional components with a dash of sea salt to accentuate the taste of rich imported Belgian chocolate Egg tarts: 5/5!!!!! Honestly when I put in my 2nd order, I couldn't help myself to tell the people behind me how dang good the egg tarts are... They told me they ended up getting some just because I mentioned it.. The salted chocolate cookie looked different to me, it is shaped like a mound. I thought this was good, full of chocolate and the sea salt was good. Would I order it again? Maybe, maybe not. 3/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Food: 4/5
