I really like this place mostly because of their prices. Granted this is a fast food chain but if you can get a combo plate with egg rolls, chow mein and orange chicken for $6, that's a great deal right? Panda Express is more expensive than that. Hesitant to eat here today because I swore never to step in any Chowking again. I usually go to the Concord Branch which is closer to where I live but ordering food takes FOREVER. It's not like I go during mealtimes, in fact I'm the only one in line but it takes me forever to get my food. If you dare to eat at this branch, prepare to wait for at least 30 minutes. For Pete's sake this is fastfood not a fancy restaurant! But I'm not reviewing Chowking at Concord (ok, I just did!) so here's my review for Vallejo... I enjoyed it! I miss eating at Chowking! The bangus, tocino, garlic and egg was satisfying. The asado siopao was ok but enjoyed the dimsum better. My breakfast cost me $6.99 with coffee or soda. Next time I will try their taho for dessert, not their halo-halo coz I make mine better than anyone else hah! Place looks clean, a guy continuously wiping tables down (OCD?) but the smell from Seafood City kinda traveled to Chowking. Bathroom is clean. Got our food within 5 minutes! Yes! I ordered the lumpia and pancit plate and 2 pork steamed buns. the lumpia was the size of my pinkie and each one had a white spot, I thought it was mold but not sure. Food here is good, but inconsistent. Most of the time the tocino/tapa is overcooked and hard like rubber. Their tokwa't baboy is great, but their arroz caldo isn't. It's like an overcooked arrozcaldo that was just heated in a microwave. I like their sago't gulaman and halo halo. Siopao is great as well. read more

What happened? I used to think this place had good service. Came by Friday evening with my parents. We ordered asado pork buns and my parents ordered congee. After we paid they told my mom they ran out of congee so they had to give her another type of noodle. I got a fountain drink and every single one of the drinks on the machine was flat. I told the associate working there and I just asked if I could have something else to drink like a Thai Tea or Calamansi Juice since their drinks were flat and some of the sodas were coming out clear. She told me that I couldn't get another drink and that they would just get someone to fix the machine. I simply just wanted a drink to go with my food I didn't really care what it was. It took forever for someone to come out to fix the machine and we were already done with our food so my mom goes up the next time and asks again if we can get something else to drink since the machine still wasn't working even though they tried to fix it. They said she couldn't get another drink. We were completely done with our meal though and we just wanted a damn drink! Any drink! Finally a third time someone comes out and finally fixes the machine way way after we were done eating. Terrible service! If a customer pays for something you should definitely try to accommodate when it's your fault that the machine isn't working. I don't understand why they couldn't just give us any other type of juice or tea when we paid for a drink but they weren't able to provide soda. What a waste of time and money! Staff here has no concept of customer service. I was in one Saturday afternoon and ordered two Black Jelly drinks. Three staff members visible, each moving slow as snails. One staff was more focused on a binder than the line of customers waiting. She was standing in front of the drink dispenser making the other staffers work around her. When the cashier who took my money finally got around to dispense my two Black Jelly drinks, she placed them in a To Go bag then just sets them on the counter. I waited about five minutes before I was irritated with lack of customer service and had to ask for my drinks. It took over fifteen minutes to get the two and only two items in my hand. I pointed out to them once you have the item bagged up and you see the customer standing right there waiting, why not just hand the bag over so we can be on our way. We bought 2 Packs (12 pcs) of siopao and they forgot to give us the sauce, and then we went back to ask for the sauce and the Manager said " Oh that's impossible, we automatically give the sauce" she's not apologetic, it's not our fault that they forgot to give the sauce!!! The fried rice taste okay but they don't give much. The instant pancit canton that we buy at the strore taste better than their canton. It doesn't have meat, but it had big chunks of cabbage and irregular slices of carrots. Let's go to the fun part. I chose the sweet n sour pork because it looks so appealing on their menu board but when i got it, it looks exactly the same with the garlic chicken. If i didn't see the sweet and sour sauce drizzled on top of it,i wouldn't know. I and my sister were just laughing our ass off while eating it. I've been here a few times, usually once I'm done with all of my grocery shopping next door. I've tried the pancit palabok which was decent. I have also tried a couple of -silog plates, mainly the half bangus and tocino combo. The tocino is always good but the bangus could be way much better, and they served it with scrambled eggs... I usually like mine over easy. I probably could've asked it to be made that way, but I always thought it was the standard. Overall, Chowking is just your basic Filipino fast food type of place. The place is usually busy, at least when I'm there, so waiting for your food can be a while. read more

I never feel good after eating here...probably because most things are drowned in oil. There are plenty of things on the menu, and it's sorta confusing. Is it Chinese or Filipino? or Chinoy maybe? Ann and Apia cashier/server can't seem to keep up with the business flow no matter how busy this place is. Ann has a very low voice low customer service, doesn't know how to deal with the situation. This place doesn't have a good customer service and doesn't have a proper hygiene when it comes to food handling to customers. You definitely will get sick here if you don't watch how your food is made. Ordered and waited like I was instructed and got a very crappy service and product at the end. After running some errands and finishing up grocery shopping at the Seafood City Shopping Center my girlfriend and I decided to grab the closest thing to food that we could to fuel our exhausted bodies. She insisted we sit and have lunch at chowking because she was craving "Filipino Spaghetti" haha.. oh yes, sweet sauce with hotdogs. She ordered her meal and I ordered the Fried Chicken Combo with gravy and a side of lumpia. Mmm..fried food heaven, right? WRONG... the chicken was way too salty. Thank goodness for the plain white rice that came with my combo. Without it I wouldn't know what else to do to absorb the extra salty taste stuck in my mouth. I was too afraid to even use the brown gravy for my chicken because I didn't want to overload my tastebuds again. The lumpias to my surprise were even saltier. The thin roll of meat encased by layers and layers of wrapper was way too soysaucy. I couldn't even finish one. They were expensive and uneatable. I mean.. who the hell messes up lumpia!? Oh and don't get me started on the service, or should i say "Lack of" service. It took forever to get my food and it's not like they were super busy because there was only 2 other people in the dining area and they already had their food.
