This Chinese spot has been a mandatory staple ever since I was a little girl. I'm born, and raised in Vallejo CA so I've been coming to this establishment for years, well not anymore! I finally get a chance to come in since I got off work early, and I come with the mentality to get a simple combo rice plate with black pepper chicken. As soon as I walk in I was greeted promptly, but when I noticed the black pepper chicken was all out I simply asked the woman if they'd be making anymore, and she said no! Seriously? Little does she know I have a food service background, as well as providing exceptional customer service. The woman who greeted me was rude, and not having what's advertised is showing a false image, and deceitful. It's not hard to have the chef in the back make another batch of the black pepper chicken. If you don't want to do your job, then simply go elsewhere! But saying there's no more black pepper chicken instead of making more is a poor excuse, and the lack of work ethic will not be tolerated by many. Good luck!

I ordered 4 large party trays for an event. I paid $260 for them, and they were worth it.

Better than Panda, at least, but still very mediocre. Prices are reasonable & quantity is good, but you get what you pay for.

Just wasn't the same as the one in Vallejo. The soup had no flavor, and the service was just okay. It isn't the same.

It's a small, strip mall restaurant with plenty of parking. The decor is unique with the owner's love of Lego! Her creations are displayed everywhere in the restaurant. Every time we come in, tables are pretty full. They need more wait staff to handle the crowd. Peak weekend hours like Friday evenings are crazy busy for takeout. They are so popular sometimes their phone is turned off in order to handle the orders. So for takeout during those times, you have to go in person, wait in a long line the length of the restaurant to place an order, then find a seat or wait outside for up to an hour. Meanwhile the tables are full of customers dining. Why do people go through with this when you see other restaurants in the area empty at dinner hours? The food is good and worth the wait. We try to plan our eat-in dining at 3 Star outside of the crowded times, even coming from as far as Fairfield. Dad loves the Beef with Bitter Melon, his favorite dish that Mom used to cook. I don't think we've had a bad dish here, so order whatever you like. OK, the Tomato Beef Pan-fried Noodles is too tomato-saucy red and sugary sweet. My favorite is the Seafood Pan-fried Noodles. Their Chinese Mushrooms with Chinese Vegetables is also good, but they only have bok choy and Dad likes gai lan / Chinese broccoli. The Garlic Sauce Chicken Wings are spicy and really tasty. Next time we'll try their Garlic Chicken Wings since they look so good in photos. 3 Star's super nice owner is very sweet to 94-year old Dad, and treats him very special. Once she even gave us an extra order that a customer said was wrong because she was allergic to shrimp. She also gives us the deep fried Chinese sesame balls for dessert. Maybe everyone gets them?

We had a large group of 12 people so, we did call in for a reservation for 5pm, but they weren't busy on an early Friday evening, however they had a steady stream of take out orders. The wings are always a must get here. They offer combinations of Chinese and Filipino dishes. Their portion size of food is big for the price. We ordered 3 plates of their garlic sauce wings (12 per plate), 2 plates of shrimp fried rice, 1 plate of beef chow fun, 2 order of lumpia Shanghai (20 pieces each), 2 plates of sweet and sour pork, 1 plate of garlic string beans and 1 crispy pata. That was the perfect amount that fed the 12 of us, everyone had a full belly and none to take home. Food overall was not the best, really good. Service was much better today than the last time I went when they were super packed with extreme amounts of take out orders. Had a good dining experience at 3 Star today. Will definitely come back for dine in or take out in the future when I am in the area.

Getting really tasty Chinese food is even harder. Szechuan Chinese Cuisine in Vallejo has bold, intense, and complex flavors. Originating from the Sichuan province of China, Sichuan food combines fiery red chilies with the signature Sichuan peppercorn which produces a unique, tingling buzz on the lips and tongue. Whether the food here is authentic Sichuan cuisine, I don't know because I've never been to China. However, the food here has all the flavours that satisfies my tummy: fragrant, hot, salty, sweet, aromatic, deep umami flavours defined by cooking on very hot stove. The service here is excellent and nearly all the dishes were well thought out. They offer deeply layered dishes that goes far beyond simple heat. The only dish that did not satisfy me fully was the pork chop. I just couldn't sink my teeth in it, but the flavours sure are prominent. Overall, this is a place worth visiting. This eatery looks clean and well maintained. I took a peek in the kitchen and everything seem to have its place. Emily was our server. She's a delightful lady with positive energy. Their lunch specials are available every day (including weekends) so they are my go to. Each special comes with the soup of the day, an egg roll, and your choice of fried rice or chow mein. I usually order the kung pao chicken, but I have also tried the cashew chicken and the three delicacies (beef, shrimp, and chicken) which are also great. The portions are very generous, and I usually have enough leftovers for a second meal. Overall, a great local spot with good value and consistently satisfying food!

We all have different tastes. A lot of people really like this restaurant, comparing it to San Francisco Chinese food in China town. Our experience was not good. Upon my better judgment, I ordered the Pot Stickers. Reviews had said too much dough, no flavor in the filling. Well, that is absolutely true and the oil tasted off. I ate one, my husband at two. There were six. I ordered the Basil Chicken only to be told they were out of Basil. I changed it to Garlic Chicken. I asked what the House Special Beef was. The owner told me it was Spicy Beef with Bok Choy. I asked if we could have extra veggies in it. She said yes. And finally the BBQ Pork Fried Rice. Food came, they looked exactly the same except one was beef and one was pork. They tasted exactly the same and the beef had no heat. The rice even tasted like the other two dishes. It all was more like a bland brown gravy instead of tasting like Chinese food. When my husband and I go out to Chinese Food, we never have leftovers. We didn't want to offend them so we got ToGo boxes. When we got home, it all went straight into the trash. My husband had a Diet Pepsi with dinner, I had my own water. With tip it was over $70.00. Two people came in to pick up take out orders, while we were there. So not much business and they definitely won't get ours again!

You can also specify if you want certain items to go, which was perfect because we were eating some things there and taking some items to family. We ordered the following for there: Pork XLB, Shrimp Pork Shaomai, Garlic Green Beans, and Chocolate XLB. The following was ordered to go: Wonton Soup, Pork Bun & BBQ Pork Bun. It's not a huge space, most of the tables are on the left side of the restaurant. A large portion is the food prep / behind the counter area. I had the milk tea to drink. It was fine, nothing special, but I hadn't had one in a while so I enjoyed it with my meal. I also thought the Chocolate XLB was interesting. It was melted/gooey chocolate inside the skin/wrap. It was a nice finish to the meal. I think most of the items were more a 4 for me, but since I loved the XLB so much, it's a 5 rating.
