    Sea food lunch special
    Richard S.

Meh got to say it's better than most places not by much . We did enjoy our plates kinda pricy but would do in a pinch. Egg rolls were really good but they were over cooked burnt and they need to change there oil more often. Up in the air about going back

    Honey walnut prawns lunch special

Nice little mom and pop Chinese restaurant that has been in business for many years. Food is yummy and affordable. I get the lunch special which is around $10-$12 depending on what entree you get, but always comes with crispy wonton wrappers with sweet and sour sauce, chicken salad, and your choice of fried rice or steamed rice. The fried rice is a bit bland and dry for me, which is better than it being oily. I prefer the steamed rice. I call ahead and the food is always ready when I pick up. Support local! Pics include: -Honey walnut prawns lunch special($11+ with tax): Prawns are yummy and crispy. The sauce is a bit too sweet and the breading is a lot. However, the prawns are still large and good. -Mongolian beef lunch special ($10+ with tax): The beef was a bit sweet compared to other Mongolian beef which is usually not sweet. Not enough crispy rice noodles in my opinion, but still delicious.

I ate the salad that had peanut butter dressing. This is the lunch special that came with Hot & Sour Soup.

The food used to be good but has gone down hill. The Won Ton soup is just liquid and seaweed with two or three wontons.

The portions are generous (you definitely get your money's worth), and everything tastes like it's made with care -- not rushed or greasy like a lot of takeout places. The orange chicken is crispy and saucy, the fried rice is packed with flavor, and their chow mein is always cooked just right. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming too. They remember regulars, work fast, and make you feel at home whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout. Service is quick without ever feeling chaotic. It's become my go-to for family dinners and low-key nights when I just want something consistently delicious. If you're in Fairfield and craving Chinese food, this place is a must-try. When we first entered, we were seated really quickly and our host was exceptionally kind to my two daughters by being patient with them and listening to my three year old babble on on how much she loves apple juice. What we ordered: Egg drop soup - My daughters loved this soup, even my picky eating daughter. She devoured her bowl and even wanted seconds. Mu shi pork - I personally liked how I was able to season the pork with a little more salt and white pepper to my desired flavor and the crepes were soft and moist. Combination chow mein - Delicious. We had second helpings of it and the flavor was on point. Not oily at all. Salt and pepper chicken - Not soggy. Nice and crispy and perfect seasoning. Walnut shrimp - tasted excellent as expected. It was lovely. I was greeted within a few moments, and seated at a table if my choosing due to the timing of when I was there. They even had brown rice available as a side--a rarity at Chinese restaurants in the area based on my experience. The staff was very pleasant, too.

Sticky Rice Chinese Bistro & Bar, Fairfield: 2026 Apr 28 (1.375 of 5)…read more WE GOT SCOLDED by the manager! I was at the counter paying the bill when the manager approached my dinner guests. She intimidated them by asking loudly why they were wasting food by not eating. My guests said they didn't enjoy the food, to which she replied that they're wasting food. How could anyone enjoy food that's inedible? She certainly did not give cause for us or our friends to step inside that eatery again. (1 of 5) Grace, server: Poor Grace looked pressured. She tried her best to accommodate us but I think she was 'shut-down' by her boss. I decided the restaurant did not deserve a tip but our server did so I pushed the tip inside her pocket. Grace mentioned that the chef is new and she would try and see if they can do something with our check. They did not and even raise the cost on one of the dishes we ordered. The price on the menu is lower that what they charged. This was an eatery we frequented for years and we usually enjoy the food here. Since we moved, we haven't visited it but our family still lives in that neighborhood so we decided to meet there for dinner. They don't take reservations but the eatery was half empty for a dinner-time seating. We sat down and was presented with their menu, which haven't changed much so it was easy to order our meal. We ordered Crab Wonton, Potstickers, Singapore-style Rice Noodles, Orange Chicken, Bulgogi. None of the dishes came with rice, so we ordered a bowl of rice. One of our guests wanted wine. Our server said the wine menu is not available, so we decided to get the house-wine. Our server returned to say the bartender is not on duty and we couldn't get even the house wine. I asked for hot water which never arrived. (1 of 5) Crab Wonton: This fried appetizer should have a crispy exterior filled with a creamy, savory mixture of cream cheese and crab meat (whether real or imitation). They are deep-fried until golden and served with sweet-and-sour sauce. The subtle seafood flavor is not quite there and the filling did not fill the parcel. The sauce here could be found on any grocery shelf but that's okay. I opened up the rest of the wonton for two reasons: (1) I wanted to see if some of them were filled, and (2) to make sure they don't serve these to unsuspecting diners. (1 of 5) Potstickers: These crescent-shaped dumplings should feature a savory filling with cabbage and ginger. They are pan-fried to produce a golden, crispy bottom and then steamed, creating a tender top, resulting in a dual-texture, savory, and aromatic bite. Although the dumplings looked good on the outside, it tasted gooey - not juicy. (1 of 5) Singapore-style Rice Noodles: I was very disappointed with my order. It tasted like the chef just poured curry powder over the top instead of cooking it in. It tasted gritty and the noodles lacked any savory nor aromatic notes. It should have a slightly spicy curry flavor but I did not taste any of that. There was no smoky or comforting yumminess to this dish. I feel that even a few drops of soy sauce would have elevated this dish - giving it an umami taste. I'm giving it a 2 because they used the right noodles. (2 of 5) Orange Chicken: This bite-sized pieces of battered, fried chicken tossed in a sweet, tangy, and savory orange-flavored sauce should boast a crispy, sticky texture with a bright citrus aroma from orange juice and zest. Instead, it had none of the garlicky, gingery, or slightly heated profile. There was no depth nor flavor at all. The dish wasn't well-balanced. (1 of 5) Bulgogi: This was the best dish we tasted this evening. The meat was tender and cut correctly. It had a mild and savory marinade but was under-seasoned. It missed the garlicky and nutty caramelized, smoky flavor. It came ala carte, like the orange chicken we ordered. They didn't even offer lettuce leaves, which usually accompany bulgogi. (2 of 5) Rice: Like the name says, the rice was on the sticky side - but cooked through. (3 of 5)

You grab a bowl, pick out your noodles, meats, vegetables, and also add sauces (soy sauce, house sauce, sesame oil, etc.). Kinda buffet style. Then the chef will take your bowl and cook your food! They also have crab puffs, 4 count or 8 count. Those were really good too! More crabby than most cream cheese rangoons Ive had and I really enjoyed the flavor. You can get food to go, but you still have to go inside and pick your toppings. You cant order over the phone (which makes sense because it would take forever to place over the phone). Fire Wok was genuinely one of the worst takeout experiences I've had in Fairfield…read more The meat tasted like it had just been defrosted, with that watery, rubbery texture that tells you it was frozen and rushed straight to the wok. The vegetables were limp, soggy, and clearly not fresh, nothing crisp, nothing vibrant, just sad leftovers pretending to be stir-fry. To make it worse, the to-go dinner costs $17.95, which is already overpriced for food of this quality. Then came the real insult: because my meal didn't fit into one box, they charged me an extra $12 for what was essentially half a box. No warning, no explanation, just a blatant cash grab. So let me get this straight, nearly $30 for frozen meat, wilted veggies, and attitude? Absolutely not. Horrid food. Horrid service. Zero value. Do yourself a favor and do not eat here.
