Finally went to try the Angry Chickz in Vallejo and, to my surprise, it exceeded my expectations. Service was friendly and the food was pretty good. I came in on a weekday for a late lunch and they had several customers inside with most of the tables occupied by diners. This was a solid first time visit and a good option for hot chicken in the 707. Angry Chickz is located in the Target shopping center off of Admiral Callaghan Lane. There is plenty of free parking shared among the businesses in the shopping center. The establishment itself looked clean and, as noted above, the service was friendly and efficient. My order consisted of Combo #2 in the mild spice level. My chicken came out perfectly with just the right crisp. The seasoning/flavor tasted a little bland, so upon my next return, I might have them bump it up another spice level. The Angry Chickz sauce was the only real let down. It was very bland and flavorless. The toast that came in the combos was also familiar (in a good way). It looked and tasted like the Texas Toast at Canes. Ordered the Hot level like I do in any other place and when we ordered the cashier just told us our total and we paid. Once we received ohr order we noticed there was a lot of spicy almost like their x-hot level pushing the Angry level. The food was so spicy it was honestly un-edible. We tried asking if we could just swap the bowls but the cashier said she "warned us" and cant do anything about it when she didnt say anything. Great spot for some spicy chicken! Be warned- even the mild flavor has some kick to it! The "Hot" level is made with Ghost Pepper and Angry is Carolina Reaper Pepper- which you also need to sign a waiver for!! The menu is pretty simple with a mix of sandwiches, tenders and bowls, all mostly featuring the same chicken. If you do get hot or higher I recommend something with Mac and cheese (I got the first bowl), the Mac definitely helps bounce the heat. Before ordering they let me try a sample of the hot seasoning so I didn't regret it (no refunds or exchanges if something is too spicy). Thank you for that, great service! THEY DON'T SERVE RANCH***! And because I was trying this place for the first time, I ALSO got the #2, chicken tenders (medium heat), on white bread with pickles. It was sooooo good. White bread was soft, pickle chips were fresh with a nice snap to them and once again the chicken was cooked to perfection. I give the fries two thumbs up too. Don't have any good pictures but I thought food here was great! Bigger portions than I thought there would be. When it said sliders I expected much smaller but they're about the size of a burger! Chicken was nice and tender and very juicy. Good seasoning and heat to the food too. Mac and cheese very solid but nothing special. I appreciate the warnings about the spice levels from the staff however if you are someone who loves spicy food/eats it very consistently then you should be getting no less than the Hot or Xtra Hot options. The hot tenders with bites of creamy Mac n cheese was delicious. However, it was overload with the fries below it. They were even more soggy than the ones in the combo plate and didn't really provide much to the dish in flavor or texture. They could easily drop the price of this by $1 and eliminate the fries. Overall, if I were in a pinch, I'd be willing to go for the angry mac or just some tenders. You do receive a heaping amount of food. I can happily say that the food was really good! French fries are top tier. Portions are great, and they have a sauce bar for their signature secret sauce. A little bland, but that's usually how I like it. Two mild tenders hidden in Mac and cheese and under was a bed of seasoned fries. It was big. I could only eat a quarter of it really. $7 for a chicken sandwich isn't bad either. It was a small space where if it gets crowded, it gets a bit uncomfortable. We got there at 6pm, right before the crowd rushed in. Service was welcoming, fast and friendly. I just hate to say how cheap the establishment already is, for only being open for a little over a week. Why bother asking if it is to-go or not, when they just put in to-go containers anyway? Moreover, we weren't given any utensils or napkins. So one still has to go up there and ask for more; to only be given a set of utensils and 2 napkins. I think it could be better... We got Combo #1, comes with two sliders and fries. Country and Mild flavor, both tasted good.. Mild is good and not too spicy. Wanted to give this place a little time to get going before giving it a try so finally made my way over this past weekend. Went inside it was pretty busy but the line moved quickly. I ordered two of the one slider one tender meals one medium and one hot. After about 10-15 minutes the order was ready. Great service. Let me Say hot is HOT it's ghost pepper and it's HOT so medium was the way to go however aside from heat there wasn't much flavor to the chicken I expected some flavor so that was disappointing especially at $15 a plate. I will say the chicken was perfectly cooked. That's why it's 3 stars....The fries were good and seasoned nicely and if I came for fries this Would be 5 stars but that's not the case. I've been there twice now and I really like the medium tenders. They're spicy but not crazy spicy. The fries are crispy and tasty. Today I got one hot tender just to see how that was over the medium. They also have very hot and angry hot but i thought let me just try the hot one for now. Ugh...it was screaming hot! I mean I couldn't finish it and had to down the rest of my half and half to calm my mouth down. Then I smeared lidocaine cream all over my lips. I couldn't talk. Well prepared and this sliders are actually a huge portion regular sized sandwich. So, I do recommend this. They give you massive amount of French fries with the order.
