And the cleanest, most pristine bathroom I have ever seen, that bathroom is spotless. Kat remembers our kids names, even between long stretches where we haven't come in for dinner in a minute. David and Kat promised our daughter they would make her a special Very Berry Mac and Cheese for her birthday. Something off menu, made to order just for our 5 year old, and just asked us to call the day before so they could be sure to have the berries. She felt so special and loved by these wonderful people who went out of their way to be kind to a neighborhood kid. AND Kat surprised us with mini berry cupcakes at the end of the meal. This is service you don't get anywhere else. AND the food is the best in Vallejo. If you haven't gone there yet, you are missing out on a true hidden gem.

When I moved away from Vallejo, I thought about this wrap often. For dinner, the wings are always a solid choice - korean bbq, bbq, buffalo - all equally good. The wings are a good size, an even mix of drums and flats, the chicken is always moist and the sauce ratio is perfect. Best wings in Solano County. The M.I.B.C. Burger is another favorite, always cooked as requested, the meat is super flavorful and the toppings - cheese, onion, sauce, and arugula fit perfectly between the brioche bun. This is also served with fries - always served the right amount of crisp. For beers, I prefer to drink the War Bond. However, I can vouch for the fact that all of the beer here is good. Also, all of the staff here are super friendly and helpful. Best neighborhood bartenders, best views of the sunset. We are lucky to have this spot in Vallejo.

It may have been the walnuts--I think they would have benefited from being toasted--or perhaps another ingredient. I'm very particular when it comes to beet salads. I also ordered the crab and artichoke melt, and this was the star of the meal. It was absolutely divine. Rich, buttery crab and melted cheese layered on thinly sliced, perfectly toasted ciabatta--it was pure comfort food. I was surprisingly full after just two bites, partly because the portions are generous and I'd already made a dent in the beet salad. I skipped drinks this visit, but I'll definitely be back to check out the rotating taps and wine selection. The staff were laid-back, incredibly friendly, and genuinely helpful. The setting is one of the restaurant's biggest draws. The outdoor patio offers a beautiful bird's-eye view of the ferries arriving at Mare Island, making it the perfect place to linger over a meal. Inside, there's a large, inviting bar where it's easy to strike up a conversation with another guest, or you can grab one of the window seats and simply enjoy the waterfront views. He immediately apologized and personally took care of us for the rest of the evening. He was professional, respectful, friendly, and treated us like two queens. He even offered us complimentary dessert. The food was tasty. I had the ribeye, baked potato, vegetables, and salad, while my fiancée had the fettuccine Alfredo. My steak was flavorful, although a little more well-done than the medium I requested. Giovanni saved the experience. The newer staff definitely need more training in attentiveness and hospitality, but we'll be back for the food, beautiful waterfront atmosphere and Giovanni's excellent service.

Our server told us that three other customers had complained about it, yet it continued to be served. She notified the manager, but the manager never came to our table to apologize or address the situation. Later that day, I developed severe stomach pain, broke out in a cold sweat, and had to be taken to Kaiser Hospital. My blood pressure was very low, I vomited at the hospital, and I needed IV fluids to stabilize me. The illness also triggered a painful kidney-stone flare-up. My doctor confirmed that consuming the old calamari caused my illness. This was a frightening medical emergency. I am extremely disappointed that the calamari was reportedly still being served after several customers complained and that management never checked on us. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously, investigates its food-handling procedures, and ensures this does not happen to anyone else.

Thayer, fresh brews and yummy food, and if going on a specific weekend, maybe a cool event to pop into. We were surprised by how many people were out there at the brewery ~ it was such a beautiful day with great weather and great service/atmosphere. Seems like the Mare Island Brewing staff have nailed doing events here, and all the components for a fun time out, since it's a drive for anyone coming from different directions.
