[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is very welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not my first or last time coming to Hopulent. Long story short, an ex coworker of mine put me on to this place and I never stopped coming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The customer is great, the people here are neighborhood friendly and clearly city locals.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food has never disappointed. Finger food (burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, popcorn chicken, etc.) and it's all tasty This place has many different beers so if you are a beer lover YOU WILL ENJOY THIS SPOT also. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is very down to earth, backyard at home type of feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is a great spot to read a book, chill with your boo or friend after work or come solo to update on your weekly planner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Hopulent is good for any one of any age who is hungry, looking to reset after work and catch an at home type vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Check it out if you live in the area or if you are passing through the city. You will not regret it.

Wow what a sleeper of a place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small home turned into restaurant with a few tables out back as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Solid draft and can beer selection, but the man the food was on point. Spicy chicken sandwich incredible, black bean burger awesome, fries and onions rings cooked perfect. Only bummer was they were sold out of tater tots and their spicy ketchup so will be returning for those and their fish sandwich incredible the future...good stuff.

This place has an amazing selection of the better local craft beers in a great variety of styles. Cider, kombucha, wine and NA beer & drinks too. Delicious homestyle comfort food. Mac and cheese and the chicken sandwich are the best in the Bay! Comfortable dining room or patio /garden seating options. Super friendly people enthusiastly staff this local family owned spot

What a great first dine-in experience! I was blown away by the staff and service! I met friends here a few days before Christmas, and it was my first time coming here for drinks and food. Right when you enter, you immediately get the cozy vibes. They had a Christmas tree lit, and you could tell the conversations and drinks were flowing. Although it was a bit chilly outside, we opted for outdoor seating. Luckily, they had heaters on on their back porch area, which kept all of us nice and toasty. For our first round of drinks, between the four of us, we ordered three hard ciders and one IPA, plus a bunch of appetizers to share. The pineapple cider was delicious! I had one drink and that's all I really needed. My friends went for a second round and ordered a couple more pineapple ciders and an IPA. The food was delicious! We got the fries, popcorn chicken, chicken potstickers, and the veggie eggrolls. From what I know, the menu rotates based on what's seasonally available, so this is just what was on the menu at the time. Everything came out piping hot and with some yummy sauces! Now what really set this experience apart from other restaurant experiences I've had recently was the service. I believe we may have been served by one of the business owners, Kat, at the time. She was so sweet and helpful when we were making our drink selections, and took the time to get to know each and every customer that came up to the register. And then toward the end of our visit, I came back to place a to-go order to take home to my husband. Because we weren't being mindful of our time, I didn't even realize that they were getting ready to close, and the kitchen was starting to pack up for the night. Graciously, she checked in with the kitchen staff and was able to swing me a chicken sandwich and fries to go. So nice of her! Hopulent is temporarily closed for winter break, and they plan to open back during SF Beer week in February. I am so excited to see what new items they put on their menu, and to just enjoy some time relaxing and hanging out in their cool space when they reopen.

Really cool, chill little spot. It seems very personable and it would be a place where one can just enjoy themselves. I was kind of afraid of going an hour before closing, but staff was really friendly and made our food to perfection. The chicken sandwich was amazing, buttermilk style, juicy and tender. Not noticeably salty. Fries that came with it were really good and crispy. The Mac and cheese was just the classic, but it was cheesy and flavorful. The food took like 20 Min to make, but it was worth it. There's also a back patio but seemed a little breezy in the afternoon. I would go back to try other items. Recommended beer was good.

Wow what a great place. Located in Vallejo, this brewery is amazing. From the beer selection to the food, it is all well done. Service is very friendly and very knowledgeable. The inside is a little small but the back patio is beautiful. So far my favorite item has been the meatball marinara. One of the best meatballs I've had in my life so far. The chicken sandwich is great, with an amazing crunch outside. The Mac and cheese always hits well and has a bold, cheesy flavor and not a soupy taste. The beer selection, again, is great. Consisting of local breweries, they have a wide selection that is always changing. Will be back for more great times. The food will take a little bit of time, but grab a beer and sit back and relax. It is well worth the wait.

We stayed in Vallejo back in September for our Napa trip and I am just now getting around to leaving all of my reviews. We stopped in here for a couple of beers and food after we arrived in Vallejo because we had an hour or so before we could check into our airbnb. It was nice because it ended up being just a couple of minutes from the airbnb! They had a very nice selection of beers to choose from. We ordered our drinks and food and then sat outside on the patio to get some sun. They had a lot of plants growing in planters all around, so it was pretty despite it only being a multi-level deck. The staff were friendly, the food was good, and the beers even better. A lovely neighborhood spot for some drinks and snacks.

Crispy Seasoned Fries and Popcorn Chicken and "Swipe Right" Hard Cider

[[HIGHLIGHT]]One of my favorite reading spots - sunny spots on the deck or a bit of shade on the side alleyway.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I don't consider myself a "regular" but they greet me by name and remember by beverage preferences, with helpful advice to select something new. Food always tasty and pairs well with the brews on tap. I usually go with the Banh Mi, but smaller appetite today - so, Popcorn Chicken with a side of fries toda

My favorite lunch order is the Chicken Caesar Wrap - perfect ratio of chicken, lettuce, cheese, dressing, and croutons. The wrap is always well constructed and never falls apart mid-consumption. When I moved away from Vallejo, I thought about this wrap often. For dinner, the wings are always a solid choice - korean bbq, bbq, buffalo - all equally good. The wings are a good size, an even mix of drums and flats, the chicken is always moist and the sauce ratio is perfect. Best wings in Solano County. The M.I.B.C. Burger is another favorite, always cooked as requested, the meat is super flavorful and the toppings - cheese, onion, sauce, and arugula fit perfectly between the brioche bun. This is also served with fries - always served the right amount of crisp. For beers, I prefer to drink the War Bond. However, I can vouch for the fact that all of the beer here is good. Also, all of the staff here are super friendly and helpful. Best neighborhood bartenders, best views of the sunset. We are lucky to have this spot in Vallejo.

The onion rings were good too, although I wish they used the same batter as the fish. The food wasn't served quite as hot as I would have preferred, and they were pretty conservative with the condiments. That may be intentional given the location and the likelihood of non-customers helping themselves if everything was left on the tables. I asked whether the beets in the beet salad were freshly roasted or canned, and I was told they were fresh, so I ordered it. It was good, but something wasn't quite as fresh as I expected. It may have been the walnuts--I think they would have benefited from being toasted--or perhaps another ingredient. I'm very particular when it comes to beet salads. I also ordered the crab and artichoke melt, and this was the star of the meal. It was absolutely divine. Rich, buttery crab and melted cheese layered on thinly sliced, perfectly toasted ciabatta--it was pure comfort food. I was surprisingly full after just two bites, partly because the portions are generous and I'd already made a dent in the beet salad. I skipped drinks this visit, but I'll definitely be back to check out the rotating taps and wine selection. The staff were laid-back, incredibly friendly, and genuinely helpful. The setting is one of the restaurant's biggest draws. The outdoor patio offers a beautiful bird's-eye view of the ferries arriving at Mare Island, making it the perfect place to linger over a meal. Inside, there's a large, inviting bar where it's easy to strike up a conversation with another guest, or you can grab one of the window seats and simply enjoy the waterfront views. I'll definitely be back.

We're beer nerds who homebrewed for years & are always interested in checking out breweries we haven't been before. Pulling up on a quiet Sunday evening, plenty of immediate street parking was available. Walking in, it's a great looking space. All the brick & wood makes a warm, welcoming vibe. Signage & art looks like it was done professionally by a graphic designer. & service was courteous & helpful. That's all well & good & all. But the beer... 1st off, we were informed there's no taster pours/ flights or any smaller pours, at all. Full pints. Period. Alright, fine. We sampled a good number of splashes to try to decide what to get. From my perspective of a beer nerd who homebrewed for years, & has done sensory, all the beers tried were off. My friend agreed. We eventually settled on a pils as being the least objectionable. So, while this place looks great, the beers were not. The raison d'être of a brewery is to make proper beers. To not fulfill that, 1st & foremost, is missing the point.

I love how the East Bay/Bay holds so many large and somewhat isolated islands/communities (Mare Island, Treasure Island, Alameda Island..). Each region holds so much history and also, really cool businesses like Mare Island Brewing Co. There was a super cool weekend community event here recently organized by the local Vallejo fire department with art/food/music and more, and it was such a cool vibe. There's so much space out there for the kiddos to ride their bikes/scooters safely, and so many cool activities like learning all about the maritime culture out there, singing shantey songs aboard the C.A. Thayer, fresh brews and yummy food, and if going on a specific weekend, maybe a cool event to pop into. We were surprised by how many people were out there at the brewery ~ it was such a beautiful day with great weather and great service/atmosphere. Seems like the Mare Island Brewing staff have nailed doing events here, and all the components for a fun time out, since it's a drive for anyone coming from different directions. Getting to see the distilling process up close added a whole new layer to the experience and made everything you taste feel more intentional. The whiskey selection is seriously impressive. I went with a tasting flight, which was a great way to explore their lineup--from smooth, approachable pours to more complex, higher-proof options. You can tell a lot of thought goes into both the whiskey and how it's presented. The cocktails were also a highlight. Super well-balanced and not overdone. The Old Fashioned-style drink I had was spot on--clean, strong, and exactly what you want at a whiskey bar. Food-wise, everything hit. The oysters were fresh and paired perfectly with the drinks, and the hot dog + tots combo was simple but done really well--definitely exceeded expectations.
