This would have easily been $60 in San Francisco, The latte art was a perfect heart and I can taste a perfectly pulled espresso shot. The nitro cold brew was fine with enough foam. I have a slightly different coffee taste palette so I won't deduct points based on my coffee note preference. The location is good with ample street parking and what looks to be a customer parking lot (I haven't confirmed). Fabrice did a nice job in selecting a historic Vallejo spot and bringing in French vibes. The coffee bar wall and mirror definitely looks like an original 1900's piece. I've been there a few times prior, but this time was horrible. We left another busy breakfast place to support this establishment. Sadly, All the workers were unfriendly and appeared miserable. No one was welcoming or smiling. I was taken aback when a coffee house ran out of brown sugar. Our Breakfast for 2 was $60. The waffles and pancakes were dense and undercooked, the pancakes had a bad taste to them a slight fishy taste, we had one bite and left the rest. The atmosphere has become untidy, cluttered, Christmas trees out in June, and the outside patio was not clean. There was hardly any pastrami and even though the menu states that the eggs are sunny side up. Both my yolks looked like they popped while cooking and were overcooked. I ordered Togo so I didn't notice these things until I got home which is right down the street. So I ate it within 6 minutes of getting it. I literally love this place. I usually get the same thing (the California Club Sandwich) but it's so good. The fries literally taste homemade, which is the best part. Their drinks are also amazing, and the staff is always so kind and have the best customer service. The vibes inside are also nice and welcoming. I spent $65 for 3 meals (breakfast) coffees and pastry today plus 20% tip for sub par food and rude service from very unfriendly employees. As I walked in, I was surprised by how much space was inside as well as the offerings they had. I was greeted warmly and I knew immediately it would not be my last time there. I ordered beignets and a hot chocolate. I sat at a table and got to work. Although I had my headphones in, I was not listening to anything. Instead, I heard the conversations that came from locals and the team - "how was your weekend, how's the family, etc". Showing what a community the cafe had built. They're under new ownership and now offering hot breakfast! I ordered the French toast and French omelette. French toast: fresh berries and I think sweetened condensed milk drizzle. It was good, but I would've liked the syrup on the size versus them doing it. French omelette: good, but the veggies they put in the omelette were not the veggies listed on the menu. I did notify the employees that there's seemed to be a discrepancy between the menu and the cooks. Again, it was still good, but it was frustrating to not get what I ordered. Overall, the servers did a good job while working through the kinks of a grand opening.
