The other plate, Churro waffles with a side of bacon and eggs were also chintzy . The server asked us if we wanted one or two eggs, we ordered two and definitely got one. The establishment takes pride in paying their staff a living wage but have allowed their food portions to dwindle. One of my coworkers suggested that we should stop by for a late lunch and it was definitely worth it! I got the Wagyu Butter Burger (with fried egg and avocado) with truffle fries and they were delicious! The others got the special (a type of pesto sandwich) with seasoned fries and they stated they liked it. I got the strawberry matcha mojito and pineapple margarita and both were delicious! I have always appreciated this establishment for its welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent coffee, beautiful latte art, and delicious food. Throughout the space, messages promoting kindness and inclusion are prominently displayed, with sentiments such as "All immigrants are welcome here," "Love one another," and "Wash your hands and don't be racist." For that reason, I was particularly disappointed during my most recent visit to see a framed image near the entrance that I found disrespectful toward the Christian faith. As a regular customer, this was both surprising and disheartening. What troubles me most is the apparent disconnect between the values of tolerance, respect, and inclusivity that are so visibly championed throughout the establishment and the decision to display imagery that many Christians would find mocking or offensive. If we are to genuinely embrace respect for all people, that respect should extend to individuals of every faith and worldview. The portrayal of the Sacred Heart was especially painful to see and felt deeply insensitive, particularly this week during the feast day commemorating and honoring it. While I have valued and enjoyed this business for a long time, I cannot continue to patronize it while this display remains. My hope is that the owners will reflect on whether it aligns with the spirit of compassion, dignity, and mutual respect that they otherwise seem to promote. read more

I visited Provisions for breakfast with friends. The host service was friendly, and despite it being crowded, we were seated pretty quickly. When I looked over the menu, there was a variety of unique-style breakfast options. Most of them were not to my liking, so I stayed safe with a traditional breakfast of bacon, eggs, hash browns, and toast. I like my eggs scrambled well but not overdone. However, when my plate arrived, the eggs were overcooked. As for the overall portion size and presentation, it was decent. The food tasted good, outside of my eggs being dry. The prices were comparable to other restaurants of this style. Although the food was just OK, and it wasn't quite my favorite breakfast spot, overall it was still a decent breakfast experience. I have celiac, so I often have limited options for dining out and one thing I really appreciate about Provisions is that they have several GF options for me on the menu, including at least one dessert! I went in today for a solo brunch and was not disappointed. I had the avocado toast with GF bread and bacon and egg added. It was, as always, delicious!** I also had an iced double-latte and it was also wonderful on a hot day. Service was also very good and I appreciated how they kept my water glass full. ** The one thing that I need to point out was that my meal was served on a very small, rectangular plate, of which my meal took up the entire plate. When I tried to cut/eat my avocado toast, the plate was so small that most of the toppings from my toast were pushed off of the plate and onto the table. I know the rectangular plates are "cool" and all, but maybe serve it on a bigger plate so most of the meal doesn't end up falling off onto the table. read more

Such a delicious meal and such an amazing restaurant! The atmosphere was so nice and cozy, and the staff was incredibly welcoming and kind. It was our first time going, and honestly, we can't believe we've lived in American Canyon for years and this was our first time eating in downtown Vallejo! We were definitely not disappointed in the slightest. The chicken and waffles were absolutely DELICIOUS -- the chicken was juicy and fried to perfection. It feels warm, cozy, and homey the moment you walk in. I've been here for brunch twice already and will definitely be back many more times. The food is incredible, and I really appreciate that they offer great vegan options alongside their classic brunch dishes. I ordered the chicken and waffles and added an egg and bacon, oh. my. goodness. My mouth waters just thinking about it. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, chef's kiss. Adding the bacon and egg elevated the whole dish and made it extra hearty. The waffle was golden and fluffy with just the right balance of crisp edges and soft center, soaking up all the flavors beautifully. I might share next time, but it turned out to be my entire meal for the day. I was that full. My partner got the vegan smothered burrito, and it did not disappoint. The hash brown inside was perfectly crispy, and the sauce was fantastic: rich, flavorful, and comforting. We also tried the vegan Cinnabon, which was so good my partner had to double-check that it was actually vegan. Service was great, but fair warning: this place gets packed on the weekends for brunch. Was looking for a good place nearby to have a birthday breakfast and found Provisions through Yelp. At first thought, Vallejo? We gave it a try anyway since reviews were good. Tucked inside Vallejo near their City Hall, this I could say is one of those perfect definitions of a "hidden gem"! We normally have to go to either Berkeley or Napa for this type of food. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted & seated by one of their servers. The lady didn't seem to look so happy at first but was actually nice towards the end. Would've been better though if she did have a smile on her face the moment we walked in. But oh well. A male server made up for it and was very pleasant from start to finish! The plates we had this first trip were all scrumptious! Churro Waffle plus chicken, Chicken and waffle and eggs Benedict of the day. The matcha latte I'm used to is actually sweet. The one I had from this place, Matcha Latte w/ Lavender syrup was not sweet at all! Could've been perfect if I was given a heads up or asked if I wanted to add sweetness to it. Finally got to try this place on a cold winter Sunday around 10AM and there was thankfully no wait. We were in a cozy table in I believe the main room, and we had a lovely view of the outside, and all the cool stuff inside. The walls are decorated with plenty of cool things to look at, plus merchandise and the cafe counter/bar area. Staff were friendly and quickly checked on us throughout our meal. They were quick to bring extra silverware, offer more portions, and refill waters. I believe we had a designated waiter, but plenty of different staff came by to check on us. Wait time was decent as well, and everything was presented beautifully. The chai latte with almond milk and caramel was SOOOO GOOD. Ugh I would love to just have a gallon of it lol. The chicken and waffles were also very good, and I personally thought the crust on the chicken was unique in a good way. Almost like a slight Asian influence on the breading. I added a bit of salt and pepper to my mine (I also added a sunny side up egg for $2, but the crunchy crust was divine) but overall it was delicious. Waffle was big, butter perfectly melty, syrup thick and the perfect amount for my waffles. Also got the rotating chiffon cake slice, which was also good, but thick. Recommend sharing with someone for sure! All things considered (ambiance, service, food quality, flavor, presentation, etc) the price is definitely worth it - I would say standard brunch pricing. I haven't been to Provisions in a couple years. They seem to have expanded their space and have an outdoor seating area. The ambiance is reminiscent of One House in Benicia. It's cute and cozy and very unique. It was somewhat busy around noon on a Wednesday. The bartender helped clear a table and had us seated when the host or hostess wasn't present. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with a side salad. The salad was a little heavy on the dressing. But it was still tasty. I loved the fried chicken sandwich! It's so perfectly crispy but tender and it was very filling too! It's well worth the $18. I also ordered some take and bake spinach ricotta lasagna for dinner. It's $14 for a portion that feeds two people. It comes with a little card with heating instructions. It was the perfect amount of food for two people. Very tasty as well! I'll definitely order it again if I'm already there for lunch. The tuna melt with soup was a large portion. My friend was unable to finish it in that sitting and took the rest to go. This is my sister's absolute most favorite place to go so even if I'm only in town for one day (which I was recently), we will eat at least one meal here. I really enjoy the outdoor seating area here, the weather is perfect most of the time and it's lovely (being a Floridian that is constantly hot, it's DIVINE). Everyone is friendly here. The servers and rest of staff. They're awesome! This time around my favorite dish was the shrimp and grits - OMG - so good and they even split the dish into two plates for us which I appreciated. They are always coming up with some amazing cocktails as well. I can't wait to visit my sister again so I can see what their menu will look like the next time I'm there. The outside looks like brunch with a patio and inside looks like someone's random home. The food was a bit disappointing. Went for breakfast with my husband, I got the special for the holidays- the seasonal grill cheese sandwich. We got there about 10 minutes after 12, so breakfast was not an option. I also got a hot mocha with Oatmilk. My husband got the Across the Pacific drink, he said it was strong and he liked it. He also got the Butter Wagyu Burger, which he didn't care for. I decided to try Provisions on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was fairly busy both inside and outside. Despite the packed environment the restaurant was clean and staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly. When I arrived breakfast was over so I looked over the lunch menu. I couldn't decide between the Churro Waffle ($13) and Fried Chicken (extra $7), Fried Chicken Sandwich ($18) and Fried Avocado Tacos ($13). I asked the waitress and she recommended the Fried Chicken Sandwich ($18) and I added the Truffle Parm Fries for an extra $1.50 and a Lavender Lemonade. The Fried Chicken Sandwich was delicious and flavorful. The Truffle Parm Fries were crispy and had a lot of flavor. Both items were served hot and tasted fresh. They also brought me a side of their ranch dressing, which was delicious. The Lavender Lemonade did not taste like lavender at all and was very tart. The lemonade was really good but did not have the lavender taste I'm used to from other lavender lemonades I've had. I loved the decor in the restaurant and how vocal they were about their support for immigrants rights and the Black Lives Matter movement. I love sitting outside when the weather permits, but the seating inside is lovely as well. Love the ambiance and decor here, but it can get loud inside if it's busy, so I prefer outdoor seating. Ube Mocha (4/5) - Def liked this better than the matcha. Not too sweet, creamy, great ube flavor. I order this often! Smothered Burrito (5/5) - My cousin got hers with bacon, and I got mine with sausage. This is sooo good! The potatoes were crispy on the inside, eggs were nice and fluffy, and I loved the sauce it was smothered in! Highly recommend for a breakfast option. Croissant breakfast sandwich (4.5/5) - My husband loves a croissant in the morning, and this one is no exception. Basic, but classic! It's a popular place, and with good reason. The food was good. Clearly above average. However, the service was bad. How bad? Well, first, the hostess. She seemed unconcerned about the slow line of customers waiting for a table. Like it wasn't her job to try to work the line. Then we were finally seated, and.... nothing. No one would take our order for more than 15 minutes or so. The waiters/watresses would serve other tables AND NEVER MAKE EYE CONTACT with other customers/tables. That is really a bad sign. The minimum you should do as a server is to look around if some other customers need something, rather than quickly going back to the kitchen while keeping your eyes to the floor. Same for the hostess, no way to get her attention. Also, 3% B.S. fee, which we promptly subtracted from the tip. read more

I really thought I was going to get a tasty burger or a bomb Chicken Sandwich but I'm glad I tried the Grilled Cheese. Well. Let me correct myself...Alyssa's Grilled Cheese. When I saw you could get a soup with a sammy, I definitely had to change my order. The Tomato Soup wasn't bad. Definitely tasted like Tomatoes but I didn't really taste anything beyond that. I think I'm a little spoiled because the town I live in has one that is creamy and every bite I just ended up comparing it to that. But it was still good. I appreciated the croutons and green onions in it. The highlight was definitely Alyssa's Grilled Cheese. It's the usual Grilled Cheese but with Tinga Chicken in it. So basically it's like a Mexican Grilled Cheese. It's really good. If you like Cocktails, I'd recommend getting the MF's cocktail or Mezcal Margarita to go with it. There's something about the smokiness that pairs so well with the sammy. I also just want to put out there that Provisions has amazing cocktails.
