The location of this spot threw me off. It's actually a window you get out and order out of and take to go (or eat in your car like I did bc the food smelled so good I couldn't wait). Don't be fooled though, this place knows what they're doing. Nice cashier who even gave us recommendations since it was our first time there. My sons burger was juicy and BOMB (which i was shocked bc usually ppl put less effort into kids orders I feel like) and my steak burrito was heavy, they're not greedy when it comes to portion sizes. From the outside, it doesnt look like much but walking in, you pass an outdoor patio area which wasn't being used but I guess might be setup if the weather is nice. Indoors doesnt look like the fancy pictures because they are not on Georgia Street. We had chilaquiles and the La Russell breakfast sandwhich. When our orders came out, it looked like they were prepping for a catering because of the large containers but then found out "holy sh*t that's our food! Wow." Needless to say, no need for them to do dishes because food was already in to go containers. Staff checked on us frequently to make sure if we needed anything. The chilaquiles came withe sour cream and guacamole on the side. I asked for pico de gallo but all they had was diced tomato and green onions. For fans of the restaurant, you probably already know that they are at a temporary location on Broadway while they wait for their main/original location to open back up after a nearby structure suffered fire damage. It's unfortunate they are going through this, but I did drop by to order recently to help them out, as they are doing their best to stay afloat at the moment while slinging their great food from the temp location. I ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast. Everything was solid... not the cheapest prices but honestly enough food for two, portions were VERY generous. Now even though they have a space at the side which they will allow people to eat at, there's not really regular food service and when I went the tables/chairs weren't even laid out. It's really primarily take-out only (see my photo attached) and it's not really easy to see the pickup window either. I can't believe I haven't reviewed Momo's yet!!?! Well, in my head I did. I must be getting old. Anyhoo, Momo's is FANTASTIC for so many reasons: Service : They are tops even when they are super busy ( which is usually the case ). It's a little place that fills up quickly. Sometimes there's a line but it's so worth the wait. Decor: it's so CUTE in there; they have plants and nice decor but don't let that deter you, lol, it is just as much COOL as it is CUTE. It's a welcoming vibe Menu: They have an extensive menu ( so many omelets to choose from) my son got nachos for breakfast. It was a tub full of nachos I mean deep! The food was pretty good. But they run the whole thing like a carry out business. Even though they had tables with linen tablecloths. We were looking for a nice brunch experience. Instead our table was pulled high with styrofoam containers. One for my eggs. Another for my potatoes and chicken fried steak. A third for my pancakes. I get it, inflation and prices are going up everywhere. But if I'm paying $21+ for an omelet, I'd still expect some culinary care put into my dish. The whole meal came off as lazy. The bell peppers and green onions were barely chopped and very uneven. The toast wasn't buttered, instead, they just slid a chunk of butter on the side of the plate. There was also no offer of jam/jelly by the staff or on the tables. Also, the TV was unnecessarily loud watching some white lady cook unrelated things on top of dining room conversations. I feel like when we first came here, when prices were cheaper and portions were bigger, the customer experience was better. You felt taken care of and you had everything you needed to complete your meal. Now, I hope they just didn't get too comfortable after all the exposure they got in 2022. Cozy cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. This restaurant is located on Georgia St in downtown Vallejo - same street as the Vallejo Farmer's market on Saturday mornings. Food is good. Can I go back and lower my 5 star reviews for other places so MOMO'S gets the recognition they deserve? Freakin outstanding food, service, portions, value. When they finally get their restaurant back that will be the cherry on the 5 star cake. And fast service to boot! The pancakes were so good. The sandwich was huge and delicious and the potatoes... those are little bits of heaven. Idk what they season them with but they're so good. I could easily just eat a side of potatoes. They don't skimp on the avocado either like other places. There was more than enough on my sandwich and they gave us 2 sides of guacamole when we didn't expect any. This is 100% our new favorite place. A lot of times I feel like I had a great experience somewhere saying I'll go back but rarely ever go. We ordered: Chicken and waffle: came with one very dense and filling waffle- flavor was ok. The chicken was delicious. Love the seasoning and breading they use which is similar to their country potatoes. $28.50 Pancake combo with bacon: pancake was yummy and better than the waffle. Came with 3 pancakes, 4 thick slices of bacon cooked to perfection, and eggs. $20.00 California omelet: bacon with onion, pepper, cheese and avocado. Came with deliciously spiced potatoes. Good size serving and very cheesy! Loved how I was able to order with a side of pancakes- they gave me 3! $23.49 Order of waffle: I regretted ordering this because everyone preferred the pancakes. It was really dense and dry. $13.99 The bill on doordash for these 4 items before tax, fees, charges, and dasher tip was $85.98. A little more expensive than some breakfast spots but the huge portions and the flavor was definitely worth it. There were 4 of us and we were only able to finish half the food. read more

I tried Momo's cafe for the first time one morning when I placed a phone order for two breakfast meals. The first order was for pancakes with fruit, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, country potatoes and orange juice. The second order was for French toast with fruit, two eggs over-easy, sausage, bacon, country potatoes and orange juice. My food was ready to go by the time I got to the restaurant and staff were friendly. The restaurant itself was clean and seated with people enjoying their meals. EVERYTHING was delicious and tasted like a homemade breakfast! I really enjoyed and appreciated the nice sized portions. Well let me tell you, Vallejo has A TON of hidden food gems that everyone needs to check out. So bookmark Momo's for your next brunch spot. Their honestly such a vibe. If you're a fan of LARUSSELL, he loves it here. They can get busy so plan accordingly. I went on a Sunday and the place was slowly getting packed as time went on. They also offer takeout. I've been here before the inside was a bit renovated. It looks really nice and clean in there! They have a big flat screen TV, they sell merch (i.e. shirts, stickers). My go-to is their Friend Chicken and Waffle. I just always have to order that from there. Fluffy, butter waffle with crisp, juicy chicken!! How could you say no to that? Third time is the charm! I previous tried to swing by Mimi's Cafe for breakfast on two different occasions only to find them closed. To be fair one was New Years Day. The other time was a Saturday (Vallejo farmers market day). Although Yelp listed them as open they were closed that day. For some reason the door was open but the person inside told me they're closed andthey'll be open to Monday. So check the hours and call if you're unsure. Parking wasn't too difficult although it's right in downtown Vallejo. So there's lots of free street parking and a few parking lots nearby. I can say Momo's was worth it! Delicious food! The inside is a little small. I'd estimate they have about 10 tables. The hostess and servers were all very friendly and attentive. The food came out quick and hot! I ordered the CJ Anderson Special with pancakes and my partner ordered the waffle combo. The portions were huge! My one dish would have been enough for two people. I was barely able to finish half before feeling full. I really enjoyed the CJ Special. Vibrant colors. Flavorful. At first I was a little nervous seeing the green sauce. As you can tell from the photos there are a lot of seeds in there. But it's not spicy at all. I think it may have been a cilantro sauce. Generous serving of guacamole and meat (steak). Absolutely delicious! The pancakes had a very generous pat of butter and a small bowl of syrup. I don't exaggerate. It was a bowl. We were in and out in 30-45 min. Nice breakfast place. We waited 10 mins to be seated. The server quickly took our orders and the food came out in under 10 mins. I loved that! Food was fresh, definitely satisfied with my overall experience. The place is very small but the service is so fast. This is definitely a hot spot to try out for breakfast or lunch. Highly recommend. I ordered the burger with fries, my friends got the chicken and waffles, and Huevos ranchero, with side of French toast. Everything was so good. My only complaint was that they don't carry Tabasco hot sauce. The best part is if you check in on yelp you get 25 percent off your tab! Thats huge! Our total was $78 and we paid $57! The Denver omelette is good, pretty much what you would expect if you've had one before. Comes with a solid amount of filling (ham, veggies, cheese) and in a good-size portion. I did have to throw some salt and pepper on mine when it came to the table. The earlier you get here, the better. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE MANAGER AND STAFF. I've heard this restaurant was good, but as the only Black person that was present I did not feel welcomed. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. This was my first time here. No one was in line or behind me, but the server told me that I had to wait to be seated in case a larger crowd came behind me. The place was packed and the last seating that was available could only fit one to two people. When I finally sat down, I put my order in and as I waited for my food another server came and asked me to move so that others who had came in could sit down. At this point, I canceled my order and asked to speak to the manager. The manager was completely unapologetic and lacked customer service skills. He repeatedly kept saying that it must have been a case of miscommunication, however when he questioned the servers in front of me who stated exactly what I said happened, the manager just shrugged his shoulders. The food may potentially be good, but I'm shocked that even someone like LaRussell (the whole reason I gave this restaurant a try) would vouch for an establishment that treats their customers this way. His seal of approval is worth way more than what this restaurant appears to offer and unfortunately given my experience, I will not be back. read more

I'm sorry. I love my town but I can't lie about something that's not that great. The food is way overpriced and you pay more for the hype and less for the quality. Plus I feel like everything is covered in sugar and fat to cover up the fact that you're paying $20 for a waffle. I need a good black cup of coffee with creamer for breakfast and I was given milk instead. Ewww. The servers were definitely "turn em and burn em" fast paced. For those who don't know the term it's when you turn tables fast so that you make more money and get them out fast. When it comes to ambiance it's so small and crowded in there you can't really enjoy a date for couples. Every time the door opened I was freezing.
