we visited Manny's back when they were on Spring Rd. and obviously followed them to the waterfront. Manny's is a pleasant and welcoming place to eat and drink. The help are freindly and accomadating, the bartenders make a good drink. We love the scallops dish and the steak salad and a few other items on the menu. the Bar area is where I like to sit for all the fun but my wife likes to sit in the booths to look out into the waterfront and Mare Island...I do too, it is a wonderful view. I did a pick-up order from Manny's via DoorDash. The order was ready before the estimate and was packed in nice large containers. For example, often a steak will be packed separately from the sides. In this case they had large plastic to go containers that was able to hold the steak and the sides (like baked potatoes and veggies). Nice brown bags as well. Now back to the food. I ordered a ribeye, two New York steaks, lamb chops and scallops. I had various sides (veggies, baked potatoes, garlic mash). All of the meat had a nice cross hatch grill marks on them. I ordered everything medium rare and 2 of 3 steaks were there with 1 at a med/medium well (a ny steak). I think the medium one was actually an 8oz, so maybe the larger pieces are more consistent. I was actually surprised because steak temp is really hard to get done right for to go, so 2/3 isn't bad. The steaks tasted good, good flavor and tenderness (except for the medium one). The veggies were really solid (carrots green beans brussel sprouts), potatoes options were good too. Lamb chops were solid and the scallops had a nice crust. I took my mom here for lunch. She comes here often but this was my first time at Manny's. Their view of the bay is so relaxing and beautiful! The service was fantastic! Solid steakhouse on the waterfront in Vallejo. Spacious restaurant, plenty of parking available and you can't go wrong with a nice view. Even though they were busy, we were greeted upon arrival and seated right away. It didn't take us long to decide what we wanted and our orders came out right away. We tried the steak salad, steak fries, house salad and sliders. As far as service goes, the staff were super friendly, but not very attentive. It took a long time to get their attention. I said I would be back and I did! I got the exact same thing like last time, the Asian Steak garlic noodles. I would like a likely more garlic in mines, but I am a super garlic fan. I gotta say this place surprised me. The service was ok, they did bring out the wrong burger, but were quick to fix the issue. I had the cowboy burger, and maybe had a little too much sauce but what really stood out was the quality of the beef. It was really good. So I'll probably have a different burger. Afterwards we wanted to eat, looked online for a restaurant on the waterfront, and found Manny's. We were probably over dressed, but this place can handle casual or dressy attire, and the location on the water is heavenly. Our server, Monsa(?) was friendly and attentive. The food was AMAZING! My husband ordered the chilean sea bass with garlic potatoes & veggies & I ordered a rack of lamb with veggies. When the plates came out, I looked at his plate & thought there was a huge biscuit on it - but that was the sea bass, and it was cooked to perfection! Flaky, not overdone, and tasting like lobster! My lamb was also cooked to perfection and practically melted in my mouth. The veggies were grilled perfectly - tasty & tender-crunchy, well seasoned but not salty. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who will be in Vallejo, looking for somewhere to eat. We live about 20 miles away, but we plan to make it a point to eat here at least once monthly. Just realized I've never written a review for Manny's -- which is wild considering we've been patrons since before they were even on Springs Rd, back when Manny's was a catering service. We've watched this business grow over the years, and it's been well earned. This visit was a last-minute weeknight dinner at the tail end of peak hours. Business was steady, but there was zero wait. Our waitress, Nicole, came by promptly for drinks, and since we were ready, she was just as ready to take our order. We started with the fried calamari, and honestly -- this is what prompted the review. Tonight's calamari was one of the best we've had here in a long time. Light airy batter, not overdone, perfectly fried, and well seasoned. In the past, it's been hit or miss (sometimes too heavy or tough), but tonight it was exactly how calamari should be. While we usually lean towards their aioli, tonight the cocktail sauce with just the right kick of horseradish was the perfect condiment. For mains, I ordered the lemon pepper chicken wings from the appetizer menu as my entrée, along with a side salad. Whoever was working the fryer tonight was clearly on their A-game -- the wings were fried just right and seasoned perfectly, matching the execution of the calamari. The side salad deserves credit too: not just basic mixed greens, but plenty of cucumbers, tomatoes, and julienned carrots. And thank you for offering ranch dressing that isn't runny and flavorless. My husband went with the ribeye, clam chowder, and mixed vegetables. The ribeye was cooked exactly as requested -- medium rare. It could've used a touch more seasoning, but it was still delicious; next time he'll add the garlic butter. The clam chowder was good, though we wouldn't complain about more clams and fewer potatoes. The mixed vegetables were basic -- fine, but nothing memorable. Service was great. Nicole was warm, friendly, and attentive -- checking in regularly and keeping our iced teas and water refilled without us needing to ask. All in all, this last-minute dinner had zero regrets. And yes -- it really was the calamari that pushed me to finally write this overdue review. Manny's still delivers. read more

Water and coffees were brought over quickly & our order was taken plus repeated after for confirmation. Started off with Steak Fries, delicious and filling! Steak pieces were plentiful and tender. Just had my reservation, made over a month ago while having lunch there, for Thanksgiving canceled. No explanation. No we're sorry. Just a cold cancellation that by its nature said "We don't care about you or your business". I won't make another reservation there given that they are not reliable. I won't be back. I'll choose another place that can be relied upon to have the schedule right in advance. A simple explanation or at the least apology for the inconvenience would have demonstrated a minimum level of customer service. The cold-hearted email I got failed 100%. read more

If I could put zero stars I would. WOW, what an experience and not the good kind. I don't understand how this place has so many great reviews. Must be from the regulars that receive better service. We had reservations on New Year's Eve for a large party. When we arrived our table was ready despite the restaurant being busy. We were seated and waited about 5-7 minutes for our waitress to come over. When she arrived, she did not introduce herself. Just asked if we wanted appetizers or drinks from the bar. We ordered appetizers and water for the table. Our server returned and asked if we were ready to order. We began ordering from the menu and some of our party recalled seeing specials when they walked in. The waitress never told us about any specials. Our appetizers arrived and were decent. We ordered calamari and brussel sprouts. When our food arrived, almost every dish was wrong. Wrong sides with correct meat, wrong meat with correct sides. Meat not cooked properly. It was a disaster. When we mentioned that one of the plates had the wrong side dish, the server grabbed the entire plate and silverware took it back to the kitchen. The correct side dish was put on the old plate. Wouldn't it have made more sense to just bring the correct side dish in a bowl? Two other plates were brought and the meat was paired with the incorrect sides. A steak was order rare and it arrived med well. We waited and waited for the server to return, never came. Someone from our party ended up getting up to find a server to come and correct the steak. Our waitress walked over and stuck an empty plate in front of the guest and didn't say a word. I ended up handing the entire plate to the waitress and told her to have the kitchen make a new one. The second steak came out ok. At this time we were finally told our waitresses name, Nora. We finished our meal and they started clearing our plates. Another lady, not sure if she was a server or not, asked how our meal was. One of our guests asked if she was a manager, her response, "no I just hangout here" and proceeded to take our plates. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you decide not to take my advice, order the fish. All the fish dishes were decent. We called days ahead of the 31st and made a reservation for 4 at 6;00 pm to celebrate a birthday. We had to stand up and wait to be seated because the entry way was packed. I will say their clam chowder was amazing and so was the iced tea. The steak looked great but was horribly dry, the mashed potatoes were dry and they had raw chopped garlic throughout them, my plate haf nicely roasted veggies and barley cooked veggies, the scallops were way too salty and I enjoy garlic and salted food, After we were told they were sold out of steaks and sold out of pork chops we were able to plane out order. All in all, the service was horrible but apologetic, the food was horrible and shame on me this is the 3rd bad experience and it will also be the last They have a handsome restaurant and a nice location. read more

We had a reservation for four at 5:00pm. Got there just prior and still our table was not ready in spite of the fact that our online reservation clearly stated that we have one handicapped person in a wheelchair. Once seated and after 20 minutes, we didn't even get glasses of water to get started. We eventually had to flag down someone to advise them of our situation/displeasure. What's worse is that there were two other tables/customers who arrived after us whose order was taken before us. Once we got a waitress who finally brought us glasses of water, she didn't then offer if we wanted cocktails from the bar. Instead I had to ask her if we could order drinks from her now, which she acknowledged yes. Sadly, even the drinks took longer than expected. When the drinks finally came, the waitress couldn't remember who got which. Sadly this happened even when the waitress finally brought our entrees.
