Lengua wasn't gamey, it was tender and plentiful. Rice was fine but soft, tortilla had adequate flavor, French fries didn't match the what DoorDash menu said (something like roasted potatoes lol), eggs and cheese and guacamole worked well together. I'd give it 5 stars if the tortilla was more buttery/flavored! When the burrito was unwrapped, it was pretty soggy and wet likely from the condensation. There's lots of decorations inside and music playing on the flat screen. We also got free churros for dining in. There's a salsa bar with lots of options. You can also pay about $5 for refillable horchata. Food was delicious with huge portions. I got the steak and shrimp fajitas, and it could easily be shared with another person. Corn or flour tortillas as choices, and come in warmers. The shrimp were big, steak seasoned, lots of onions. Delicious! We just happened to find this restaurant as we were in Vallejo playing some golf. What a gem as the food was great and very large portions. I had the mojado burrito which was super filling. My friend and I were looking for a place to meet up that was about halfway from SF and Sacramento, so we chose Vallejo :) This place had amazing reviews and plenty of veggie options. My friend got their chile-verde and I got a cheese enchilada plate with salsa verde. I saw that their churro plate got plenty of reviews, so I ordered one for my friend and I to share. They also gave us a complimentary order on the house :) Everything was lovely. However, it was the service that my friend and I fell in love with. The two gentlemen that primarily worked the restaurant made sure my friend and I were comfortable from the second that we arrived and sat down to when we left. They made sure our table was cleared in a timely manner in between entrees and dessert, and also helped pack our leftovers in such a sweet way where they were already ahead of us before we even asked :) One of the gentlemen even refilled my friend's soft drink from the dispenser machine, even though he really didn't need to. Just a warm and cozy spot to hang out with yummy food and amazing service, with lovely, eye-catching art on the walls. I'm a sucker for the Dia De Los Muertos art/paintings and how lovely the women look portrayed in different colors and styles. The parking can be challenging in their small lot out front but there is plenty on the streets nearby if you're willing to walk a couple minutes. I ordered the taco salad and asked if I should get pastor or carnitas, and he suggested half and half. Both were so good. The pastor wasn't overly greasy like most of them can be. And a nice couple chunks of pineapple. Super fire. My friend got the carne asada plate and said it was really good too. The salsa bar is an awesome touch. And then, our server brought out their famous churros for us to try on the house. The flavor was good, but my best friend makes the best posole ever so compared to hers this soup was lacking. It needed more hominy . It definitely needed more stuff for the top. I got lettuce and that isn't in any pozole I have ever had. They usually have shredded cabbage for crunch and texture. I don't think I have ever had lettuce with pozole. I would not order that again. I ordered the super burrito to eat the following night. I fared better with this one. It wasn't long, but it was fat and it had great flavor. I asked for no rice and extra beans and boy I won't do that again. I had beans and juice falling out everywhere but that was on me. After an event at the Solano fairgrounds I googled Mexican food near me and this restaurant was 8 miles away in the right direction. How lucky for me because my experience here was absolutely 5 stars. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. We ended up ordering fish and shrimp taco and of course the carnitas. They were all so good, flavorful and satisfying. Had I not been full from the heavy breakfast that we ate, I would've ordered more. The cashier was very helpful in giving suggestions and the staff seemed to be in high spirits. Needless to say we are definitely coming back to order other stuff from their menu. I didn't give 5 star because there was one time in the past when the shrimp used on the shrimp taco we ordered tasted a little "muddy". Must've been a bad batch of shrimp. Went here for dinner on Valentine's Day. Was a better meal than most fancy restaurants. We started off with the Tostada Mixta, I had Camarones a la Diabla and my wife had Shrimp Tacos. The Tostada Mixta had fish, shrimp and octopus, with Salsa Negra. The ceviche was enough to make about 4 tostadas. That was a meal in itself. The a la diabla sauce was probably the best that I've had, with a good portion of perfectly cooked shrimp. Don't usually think much of rice and beans but these were definitely made with some love. My wife enjoyed her shrimp tacos but prefers their fish tacos. We were stuffed, then they brought out their complimentary Churros (anytime you dine in). A perfect ending to dinner. Service was great.
