May 18, 2026 3PM ish 3.2 stars We walked in, I asked my wife to order me the $20 chilli relleno plus taco meal, and I headed for the Men's restroom. There are no toilet seat liners in the only stall and the toilet is not flushed. I flush it while cursing the last stall occupant. I finish my Men's room business , I flush and there is not enough water to whoosh everything down the commode. I apologize to God for me cursing the last stall occupant. The toilet tank takes fourever- no tenever to refill. We get our meals. The chili relleno was as good tasting as I have ever had. Served hot the way I like it. The refried beens are refried beans-good. They could have been served hotter. Unfortunately, the chopped steak taco was so salty and over spiced that I couldn't eat it. What a waste. It looked so good. We were given about nine tortilla chips haphazardly scattered on the serving tray. To share I guess. Oh No My wife starts complaining that her ground beef enchilada is so salty that any other ingredient flavors are drowned out. About my wife. Now this woman is the salt of the earth. She is infamous for over salting because she loves it.. She really loves salt. She adds salt and splashes soy (salt) sauce on almost every meal. She would vacation in a salt mine if she could. "Damn" I'm thinking. "That enchilada must be salty." But wait. There's more. Next she complains that the enchiladas tortilla wrapper is way too thick. Hard to cut with the plasticware. I try to calm her by saying "Maybe it is home made and other customers like it thick." I'm growing curious now Why does she have a can of Coke and a straw but no cup of ice. She always has a cup of ice for her can of Coke. I tighten my lips rather than getting off my lazy arse to get ice for her. Somehow she read my mind and she blurted -"They charge $.50 cents for ice here." Smh. Everyone these days has a problem with ice. read more

Our of the blue - found on Yelp. The place is spotless, everything looks super fresh, staff very helpful, it's a build your own kinda vibe and as it was my first time... To tell you how much I loved it, one of the proteins was a bit cold which would knock it down a bit but I'll blame myself for being slow to the plate :) I'm not in this area very much - if there was one of these by me I'd be there once a week no doubt. While on a road trip we decided to stop by for some food. It was our first time here so we asked how we ordered because there was a lot going on with the menu. The employee just said "that's the entrees and you choose the meat." She didn't really explain it very well but we figured it out. I got a bowl with carne asada and my gf got the chicken enchiladas. The food was amazing and I love that you can choose so many toppings. The agua frescas are also delicious and refreshing. This place is amazing! I came to Vallejo for a small errand and their food is great! BYO bar with speciality items available. We got flautas and a BYO chicken bowl. Pictures below! I love the freshness and the authenticity of the food. Only cost us $44 with both and two large Agua Frescas. It's not watered down or like that Sol company we see at main chain Mexican restaurants. They are so authentic they don't even give tickets for the food the chefs know what they be doing. Ask for Raul or Adrian cause they are the kindest people. Went to try something different and I got my food to go. I got the tortilla soup and the papa loca for my dad. The papa loca (I don't have a photo) were with steak. They had no beans, but had rice, both types of cheeses, and other items. My dad enjoyed his meal. I got the Tortilla soup which came in a 32oz container, which was a great size, I was able to eat it for dinner and lunch the next day. I put my soup in another container when I got home. What I enjoyed that all the toppings were in another container and not in the soup, which was awesome. Also we received a bag of chips, which I also added to my soup later for extra crunch. The place was clean when I went in but I didn't really stay long. The staff were so nice and accommodating and even kept up a conversation with me. I will be going back for that tortilla soup, especially in this cold weather. read more

Wow. It's been a long time since I've been brave enough to walk into a taqueria without having a recommendation first. I will be back! Great service, and I was really happy when I saw the corn tortillas being pressed and heated right in front of me. I will never be able to eat packaged tortillas again. I ordered two street tacos, one asada and one al pastor and they were stuffed beyond stuffed. SO tasty! I love spicy salsa, so I got the habanero in addition to the regular mild red sauce provided with the chips. That habanero salsa is the bomb. High on the list of favorites. Tacobar, a fast-casual restaurant, in the Gateway Plaza shopping center on Apr 8 and my whole family loved the place. We tried the soft tacos, enchiladas, Cal burrito and taco salad and all were delicious. Orders are plated right in front of you at the bar and toppings/sides are added to-order in assembly-line style (like at a Subway). At the end, Modelo on tap is available, along with soft drinks. Seating in the bright and colorful dining room is self-serve. Counter service was fast and friendly and prices were moderate, in line with most fast-casual establishments. Quessa birria - the beef is a bit dry and I feel like I have had better. Portion is huge but I wasn't impressed by the taste. Pork belly - good flavor but a little dry and chewy. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the burrito was the largest I've ever seen! I visited after reading great Yelp reviews, and the menu had a wide variety of options. I chose the chicken burrito, which was like a whole meal wrapped in a tortilla. It was so good that I highly recommend stopping by for tacos or burritos. There's always a good amount of customers, but it has never been so crowded that we've waiting in line for a long time. The concept is kind of like Chipotle but with more authentic Mexican food. You order at the counter and let them know what kind of meat and condiments you want in your order. Love the pickled onions! Everything I've tried was good. Ambiance is casual and not too loud. It is a small "family owned" restaurant serving delicious home-style cooking. Their Taco Tuesday consists of 3 tacos (your choice of protein, except lengua & seafood proteins, which were additional). Everything was prepared fresh, including their hand-made tortillas. And OMG, the esquites, which is basically elote corn off the cob, and is soooo good! The corn tortilla was completely wet and soggy... for $4.95. I didn't even eat it. The burrito was also sooo runny it was hard to eat. Juice dripped out of the burrito as I ate it. I wrapped it up in foil and put in frig. Then the salsa/runny bean mixture leaked out in my frig. You should be able to put pico on a taco and burrito without drowning it. Food - I only tried the california burrito here and I thought it was a little too heavy. There were soo many sauces in the burrito that the fries became really soggy and made the burrito texture quite mushy. Also, For the amount of sauces in in the burrito, the flavors were not that complex or interesting. Overall average burrito. Service - Everyone was super nice and friendly. Ambience - Plenty of indoor seating. Very causal and inviting space. Overall - Average tasting burrito. Might come back and try something else. I wasn't expecting much from a Chipotle style chain Mexican place. But I was very pleasantly surprised. I've been here twice now and had a good experience each time. Very clean. Enter through the right door since the line down the counter goes right to left. First time I got tacos on a Tuesday evening. They have a $10 for three tacos deal. Extra for certain meats. The meats were very moist and flavorful. I was stuffed after eating the three tacos. The only complaint I have is that the tortillas fell apart quickly. I ate the tacos almost asap. So if it was delivery I imagine it would have been much mushy. The second time I got the taco salad and the mango drink. The drink was a bit sweet. But the taco shell was very crispy. But the food was very good! The employee was not stingy with the toppings. My partner has ordered burritos the two times we came and he approves. Parking is easy since it's in a very large plaza somewhat close to the movie theater and many other shops. It's a well lit area with lots of people. There's also outdoor seating at Que Onda. Strange to say that Que Onda will probably be my go to suggestion for when I am craving Mexican in Vallejo. read more
