My bestie has been recommending for me to check this spot out and I'm a bit upset that I put it on the back burner. But finally! Came on a Saturday morning, enjoyed the coffee and croissant, the historic home vibes and the chill seating. The remodel of the Officer Home is impressive. Love that porch! There's seating inside and a community/dining room table. There's plenty of hang out spots in the what seems to be backyard (grassy area). Very dog and children friendly. Lots of parking in the back and some in the front (if you're lucky to get one). Service is friendly. Plenty of options to try and some refrigerated drinks too! I'd love to come back and bring my pup. This is a good option for a place to meet up for a quick meeting with friends/ family/ or business for OK coffee. I ordered a latte with an add in shot but it wasn't strong enough for me. So if you like strong coffee and you like to taste coffee even if you get a flavored latte, then this isn't the type of coffee you'd like. The setting is clean and quiet. The spot is unique because it's in a historical type of house that's located in Mare Island. When entering, you get a home feel because of the decor. Also, when drinking coffee there, they will serve it to you in regular coffee mugs which makes drinking it just a little more chill since it's not in a to go cup. You can sip and relax. We were at Mare Island for our kids' field trip and wanted to find a close coffee shop. We found this gem, and it was perfect! It's located in an old Victorian-style home, which we loved! When we walked in, we were immediately greeted, and the employees were very patient while we looked over the options. My husband and I chose a Cafe Mocha while my mom chose the seasonal Fall Leaves Latte. We had just eaten lunch but couldn't resist trying the Hazelnut Chocolate Croissant. While we waited for our coffee, we walked around the shop. Everything was clean, and beautifully decorated. We didn't have to wait too long for our coffee. Quarters Coffee House is a gem on Mare Island! The building is a historic officer's quarters/residence. It's beautifully restored, with ornate woodwork and high ceilinged rooms and lots of plants, creating a warm and welcoming environment. They offer a variety of coffees and teas, as well as pastries. I opted for the seasonal iced tea - it was lightly sweetened and very refreshing on a hot day. I walked through the home enjoying all the nooks and crannies one could sit in. Couches in one room. Tables in other two. And seating out on the front porch, which guests are welcome to use even after the shop closes. WiFI is free, easily making this a second or third place for many I perused their other items for sale: sell local honey, mugs, gourmet snacks...and a fridge with sandwiches and canned beverages. I stopped by The Quarters Coffee House on a Wednesday and felt like I was transported to the south. The building was a historic residence and very much felt like a house. The outside featured a wraparound porch with Greek columns and the rooms inside looked like a dining room, living room, etc. I ordered their seasonal beverage, the Fall Leaves Latte. It sounded very sweet so I got it without white mocha, which was definitely the move. I expected a stronger maple flavor, but it was still solid. Okay I've been wanting to come here for so long and I finally made it. The place is beautiful. I love the looks inside and how there is plenty of room outside to sit. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the place was clean. However, I was a little disappointed in my coffee and so were my friends. We ordered a vanilla latte (add shot), a mocha, and a cappuccino. They were all suuuuper sweet. Our pastries were also a little too sweet and were a little hard (felt like they weren't fresh). Met my long time friend here for coffee and catching up. Neither of us had been here before. It was PACKED! The seating inside was all taken up as well as on the porch. However there was ample seating with shade near the grassy hillside and small garden pockets filled with tons of plants and flowers. The line moved fast and the orders were speedy. I was most surprised by the reasonable pricing. We got drinks and pastries then hung out. The flow of people in and out was consistent and there was lots of families with kiddos of all ages hanging out. Parking is available in front and out back. The coffee shop sits next door to Godfather wine tasting room too. Housed inside one of the original military homes on Mare Island, this place is a nice getaway from the town and city hustle and bustle. The coffee was good, but next time I'd probably order with less ice. The chocolate almond croissant was really good, and we came in time to get half off bakery items at 1PM. There are plenty of different food options, and some hard goods as well. Omg this place is sooooo cute. The perf place to yap with the girlies since there's so much seating inside and outside. I wanted to love their coffee, but I really didn't :(. I got an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and it was so sweet and the syrup was so artificial tasting. The drink was so sweet that it became undrinkable, so we bought an additional espresso shot--which only made it worse LOL. This was so unfortunate since the place is beautiful and the staff were so so kind. We also ordered a pastry and I thought it was odd that it was given without being warmed first. There are a few different rooms to sit in and they have outdoor seating as well on their large front porch. The staff are kind and know the menu well. They even have fresh flowers cut and arranged on the tables. Provisions provides their refrigerated foods and they have a selection of pastries delivered each day as well. My friend and I were out adventuring on a Saturday and decided to try out a new coffee place. I had looked it up previously, but when we actually pulled up, it was so much more beautiful and unique! I love that the inside is all hand carved wood, that's been beautifully restored. They have several rooms downstairs where you can sit and enjoy your coffee, if you choose to. My friend got a shaken espresso, which she liked, and I got a dirty chai that was absolutely delicious! I'd also note that the lady behind the counter was really nice and welcoming, and took the time to explain what a shaken espresso was. If I lived closed, this would definitely be part of the coffee rotation! The honey latte was great, not too sweet, and kiddo enjoyed the macchiato. Service was very friendly and patient. Great location and nice grocery options! One of the only places that understands how to make a Cortado. It's an espresso drink with equal part milk. I appreciate them for knowing this. The Quarters is basically a Victorian house that somehow transformed into the best coffee shop on Mare Island. It's got all the charm of a historic home, but without the responsibility of actually owning one. High ceilings, intricate woodwork, crown molding...basically everything that makes you feel like you should be wearing a monocle and discussing art with strangers. I always get the hot mocha, because apparently, I'm a creature of habit. It's not groundbreaking, but it does the job. Strong, simple, just like my affection for this house. I've tried other drinks here, but nothing hits quite like the mocha...probably because it's the coffee equivalent of sitting in a room with good bones and character. My boyfriend, on the other hand, opts for the Iced Dubai, which he claims is "refreshing," but I think it's mostly the building's charm influencing his judgment. Either way, we're both happy, but really, I'm just here to soak in the place and pretend I'm accomplishing something with my life. I've pretended to work here a few times, but let's be honest, I was mostly distracted by the house's ornate details. I've spent more time admiring the architecture than I care to admit. You know that feeling when you go somewhere and think, "This is probably what I'd be doing if I had my life together?" Yeah, that's The Quarters. The coffee's great, but really, I'm just here to soak in all that Victorian goodness. So if you're looking for a coffee shop where you'll actually feel like you're getting work done, this is it. But, like, you'll probably just get distracted by the fact that the place looks like it belongs in a movie and wonder how long it would take you to restore your own house into something remotely close to this. I am a huge fan of this coffee house and conveyor of fine foods. It is absolutely beautiful inside, the interior completely restored from officers quarters of the earlier years of the 20th century. They do have some wonderful items for sale from coffee mugs to gourmet food items. I love the coffee and espresso drinks here and the pastries are very good also. I'm a big fan of the local vallejo restaurant/bakery that makes blueberry scones that are the best I have ever had. I'm not sure if they're still available at Quarters but I hope so. I'll pay extra for one of those with my beverage. It's always a pleasure to enjoy time inside the house with a friend for coffee and a bite to eat. I can't wait to return soon. read more
