Met up with a couple of friends here for lunch and we made sure to come before the lunch rush -- which was a good call. Just about everything here is made to order (fish, wings, pretty much the whole menu), so patience is part of the deal when ordering at the counter. If you're in a hurry, calling ahead or using DoorDash is always an option. For lunch, I ordered a 2-piece catfish with collard greens and candied yams to dine in, plus a chicken wing and fish combo with fries to go. One thing I really appreciated was that they didn't fry the to-go order at the same time as my dine-in meal. That meant everything was piping hot and fresh when I walked out the door. The catfish is my usual go-to and it never disappoints -- perfectly fried, well seasoned, and consistent every time. Was passing through Vallejo on the way back to Sac and only looked at the number of star reviews vs the last dozen individual review ratings...so really this is on me. I wanted sole and snapper. Up charge for the mix...not an issue. I also got fries and Mac and cheese. First impressions: the sole is what I started on. My goodness was that salty...and this is coming from someone well on the way towards diabetes if I don't make some changes. The snapper was better. It think because it's a little thicker it dispersed the salt better? The Mac and cheese...I don't know how it can have so much cheese and still no flavor. Confusing. Fries: the best thing in the meal! All in all, the snapper was ok. I definitely won't be back for fries (you know...potential diabetes concerns), but looking at the other recent reviews I see some similar feedback. We were craving fried chicken late at 8pm and went to sharky's unassumingly. I'd heard good things about their food from Tik Tok and figured I'd give it a try. The ambiance was very casual, close to closing so very little customers. We placed a to-go order for fried chicken and fried snapper with a side of fries and mac and cheese. We waited for quite a long time considering there were no customers, however everything was fried fresh to order so we were okay with it. I forgot to take pics, but we really enjoyed everything! The mac and cheese (recommended by the cashier) was baked and super cheesy. If you love a good cheese pull, this will surely do it for you. The chicken and fish were crispy and tasty, and came with plenty of tartar and hot sauce. The fries were super crispy as well which I prefer. Fresh seafood with many options and combos i.e. crab cakes , poboy's, snapper, frog legs, alligator, party wings, shrimp, cod, bass, etc. A bit pricey, but it's seafood - oh my Cod! The fresh squeezed lemonade (different flavors) washes everything down smoothly. They also have yummy banana pudding. Their location in V-town shares the same parking lot as Starbread, so get your crack bread on, too. The other location is Vacaville with plenty of parking. We ordered a hodge podge of food for take out and overall, it was pretty good! *Shrimp scampi - really delicious and a good amount of shrimp! *We ordered a 3 way combo, and it included white fish, catfish and wings, plus fries and we also got sides of Mac and cheese and potato salad. The fish was mostly good (some pieces were thinner and thus dry), the wings were good, as was the Mac and cheese. The potato salad was almost sour tasting? Just not my thing probably. Drove here from the East Bay. It did not disappoint first when I walked in. I thought oh white boys are cooking. It may not be as good they can cook!!!!! Customer service is very genuine not overly nice but not rude at all very welcoming. We got the three-way combo to share with chicken shrimp and catfish they are not stingy with the portions. They don't just give you a regular small piece of bread they give you a hoagie damn near with the plate. The french fries were really good. Everything was super fresh and delicious catfish didn't taste too fishy, which I love the chicken was nice and crispy. The shrimp was perfectly seasoned. Everything was a 10 out of 10. After a strenuous run, I decided to reward myself with Sharky's for the first time! Got the red snapper (which comes with fried and two pieces of bread) and garlic noodles. It was kind of pricey but they don't stiff you on the amount of food so it actually lasted me about 2.5 meals! Red snapper was delicious and the garlic noodles were so full of flavor. I give the snapper a 4 and the garlic noodles a 5, hence the 4-Star rating. The young man working the register was friendly, patient and helpful. My dad asked me to pick up some fried fish for dinner so I did my Yelp search. I've always wanted to try Sharky's out and missed Vallejo Restaurant Week. I believe they have a location in Vallejo and Vacaville. I looked on Yelp for their menu and decided to go with the Red Snapper - 4 piece, and catfish nuggets (small). I didn't know that they both came with fries and bread (to soak up the oil in the bottom). I called ahead of time for pick up and they said it would be about 15 minutes. My total came out to about $38. Located at the same plaza of Starbread in Vallejo, this area gets a good amount of food traffic and for a Thursday afternoon around 7 there were people but it wasn't super busy. The workers were very friendly upon pick up and on the phone, the place was super clean, there's a bathroom and they also sell desserts from Marita's bakery-- lots of cakes and pies. They looked really good!! Peoples first question to me is their fish fry comparable to J&J's and Soultrans in Vallejo. My quick answer was yes as I ate it fresh. The fry and seasoning was really good and the fish quality as well, some places sometimes have more of a frozen fish taste or quality and my order did not. I've been going to both this location and the Vacaville location for a while now and so this review is long overdue so here I am. I called in and ordered a 20 pc whole wing that also came with fries. Lemme tell you, their chicken is soo good! The chicken is so moist and whatever they season their chicken with is addicting. The fries were decent. The service here was decent nothing too crazy. The restaurant is in a kinda sketchy area... with a large parking lot. In general, this is one of my go to fried chicken spots. Definitely recommend checking this spot out. An elder from my community insisted on taking me to lunch because she wanted me to try Sharky's Chicken and Fish. She raved about their food and I'm so happy I went with her. First off, the service was incredible! I loved how one of the owners treated her like royalty. I'm a big fan of people who treat elders with care and respect. When our food came out I was happy with what I saw. The flavor was out-of-this-world fantastic. My catfish fillets were perfectly cooked, flaky and juicy on the inside, just the right crunch on the outside. I try to not eat fries but I couldn't stop eating theirs. Excellent crunch, and I don't know what that seasoning was but it was fantastic! I tried to save some for later but left with none. The place was cute and clean, just a great vibe. This has got to be the closest to Mississippi or Louisiana food since I was down south. Those hush puppies and shrimp po-boy put me down for a napp almost instantly that Idis hit hard. Compliments to the owners and cooks, felt like I was sitting at my cousin's in Louisiana. Cat fish was wild and tasty, I don't know what kind of seasoning they used but MAN was it addictive. The cashier was super cool & gave me lots of good recommendations on what to order. I got the 2 item combo with my items being the fried calamari, chicken wings. Best Southern food in Vallejo. The fried chicken livers piping hot & packed with comfort spices... really hit the spot! We've had the fried catfish ( first visit ) and it's also done right! Love the spices in their flour mix brings you back to that authentic creole /cajun cuisine. Front End customer service so down-to-earth greeting their regular customers... he talks to them like their next-door-neighbors. The owner is a super host & positive energy. Place was terrific my first time there for hush puppies, garlic noodles, and 4 piece catfish and fries earlier today, a Christmas Eve find for sure! Nice lady at counter this morning, very professional and fast. Clean and spacious inside and will probably eat there in future but was rolling due to time demands of the day. Food was ready right when they said it would be for my to-go as i browsed other places in the mall for 15 minutes and came back. Nice that it was hot and fresh when I got home, with the very flavorful but not oversalted noodles in plastic container wrapped in foil, a caring touch! For me, this has been the best fried seafood in the bay. The seasoning is always on point, the items you get are fried properly- not too hard and not too soft, and the portions are plentiful.. totally worth the money you spend. My boyfriend and I like to share the three item combo, double basa, with either jumbo shrimp or chicken tenders as the third, when we're really big backin we each get our own though. This is a great find! We stopped by on a Sunday and saw lots of take out. We got different items to try and were very pleased. The breading is very good although could use some seasoning before frying. The fries, hush puppies, and okra were some of the best I had. The fish was a little dry but still good. Sharky's has been creating a local buzz since opening, so I thought it was worth checking out. I ordered the oyster and snapper combo, and substituted the fries for Mac 'n cheese for $20. For the pros: the prices are very reasonable, extensive menu, ability to mix and match for combo plates, friendly staff and my fried oysters were delicious. The dreaded cons: the location is a bit dicey, be prepared for a wait (I waited approximately 25 minutes) and worst of all my snapper was dry. The Mac 'n cheese was extremely cheesy, but I wasn't a fan of the overall taste. I will give them another try because the oysters were large and tasty. I will probably just stick with the fries on my next visit and perhaps the dry snapper was a one-off. read more

Came with two pieces of fish and 3 chicken wings. Made to order so be ready to wait 15-20 mins but came out piping hot and seasoned to perfection. Worth the wait! This was literally two meals for me as it was sooooo much food. I also had the greens and the Mac and cheese. Both were really good!!! Also came with a slice of bread. Customer service was excellent. Dude behind the counter was knowledgeable of the menu. Took his time with me while I was trying to figure out what I wanted and gave me suggestions.
