I'm really happy with this spot. Although its a bit small, they have quite a selection. They have all my favorites and its always fresh, good quality. The cashier is really nice and polite. But like I said its a small shop, so if there's even a few people in there, everyone is running into each other or having to wait ti get the items they want. Ill still be coming back here though because they always have my favorites items available

I've been going to this bakery whenever I am craving for pandesal, hopia, and other Filipino pastries and different kinds of baked food. Pandesal is the best seller! There's also siopao, bibingka, puto, hopia, turon, leche flan, etc. Tastes like the ones in the Philippines! Small store located next to Seafood City and Jollibee. Service is good just a brief time to check out, I believe cash only if less than $10 orders. I just hope prices won't go up because there's a lot of mark up happened this past years but I understand.

Receipt got a bit wet on the right side.

Dishonest business. I bought several baked good from this establishment on Dec. 24, 2024. At the register, I noticed the cashier input the wrong price for two items ($8.99). When I questioned her, she insisted it is the correct price. I showed her the price tag on one of my items ($7.99) and another that was on the displace table. She still insisted that she input the correct price because "the price went up". Hhhmmm. I insisted on what was on the tag. She heaved and cancelled the transaction then wrung up all my items again, but sort of asked her coworker for the price on another item I had. The price on that item changed because she supposedly input a lower price earlier. I couldn't complain on that was because there was no price tag. The establishment inconsistently tagged their products. Most do not have any price tag. Their receipt is barely legible. The items are not clearly noted except for very few. Otherwise, it would say "open item", then the price they charge you for it. That means, they can put whatever amount they want and you'd have no idea which item you bought is that price. And, the price "increase" of a dollar more for each item might be because of the holiday and they know a lot of people will be buying baked goods. They were scalping their own products!!

Ube Pandesal (No ube or cheese filling)

One of the bakeries where we buy bread and other bake goods. We haven't had any bad experiences with their service. Pandesal and cheese bread are our go to bread. They started selling Ube Pandesal. However, there's no filling inside. No Ube or Cheese. There's no taste of ube at all. It just has the color purple but otherwise, just plain pandesal.

Taro ube bread. Purple bread with taro inside. Not too sweet.

Located in the seafood city parking lot between chow king and Jollibee. There is plenty of parking. Once inside you are overwhelmed with the amount of bread, pastries and dessert options around you. At first, I was the only one there and then more people started to arrive. It wasn't loud in there although I didn't notice much of the ambiance because I was looking at which items they had. They have shelves of goodies, a refrigerator in the back and a display case in front. I arrived knowing what I needed to get buy but of course I was distracted by other items. In this visit, I purchased mini chicken empanadas. They have a 10 piece and a 5 piece option. I chose the 10 piece. My mom also asked for the guava cream cheese bites (this also comes in blueberry and plain) this is mini sized and come in 8 I think. They also have large ones in the front display case. I picked up the taro ube bread (I couldn't resist, I love both!) It is 6 pieces of bread with taro inside. I did not have to wait in line long, it went pretty fast. The chicken empanadas are always moist and full of meat and veggies, these are delicious. The guava cream cheese was sweet. The filling wasn't equal but we weren't complaining. The taro ube bread was filled with taro, not too sweet but not enough ube for me. I think because the bread is purple that's what's considered "ube" ? I don't know. It's good but I would come back and try other ube options and they have plenty. I don't come often because it's across town for me but it's definitely a treat!

Don't buy the Ube Halaya. "Grated Ube" is listed as the main ingredient. This tastes like a lie.

Don't buy the Ube Halaya. "Grated Ube" is listed as the main ingredient. This tastes like a lie. How does it taste like caramel? It's mostly sugar & flour filling. CA #USDA please inspect. #CAUSDA if Ube powder is used, then it needs to be listed as an ingredient. There's no ube flavor, just coloring. I knew it was sketchy when I struck up a conversation with the cashier and she was nervous to recommend anything. I must have asked her 3-4 times on what pastries she liked. She finally just mouthed off the items already in my basket.

Pan de sal
Liann A.

Been getting my pan de sal from here for years, it's the most soft and fresh and even better than some that I've had when I lived in the Philippines. They have everything here from siaopao, Turon, ube pan de sal, halaya, desserts, puto bumbong, cassava and much more!! I always get treats from here for my family. There is a $10 card minimum and are only allowing 5 people in the store at all times. Service is fast!

What errands trip to seafood city be without picking up pan de sal from Valerio's. Shop is small so only a few customers are allowed at a time, but it's a quick grab and go spot with always fresh bread. They also have some Filipino desserts and Siapao. Give it a try!

Kutsinta with coconut flakes

This bakery shop sells fresh bread and desserts. You cannot dine inside so you just grab and go. They offer many selections and I have not had anything I dislike so far.

They have such a great variety of snacks and breads to choose from. We enjoyed the pineapple empanada and pan de coco.

They really do have amazing tres leches cake! I asked around…read morefor folks' recommendations of where to get a really good tres leches cake and this place came up several times. While they take special orders for larger servings (20+ sheet cakes, etc) they actually have a lot of different cakes that you can simply order on the spot. We ended up with a mocha tres leches (birthday) cake. It was beautifully decorated AND delicious which is the really important part. It wasn't too sweet and the frosting was that really light fluffy kind. Not the heavy overly sweet. Would go here again for special occasion cakes. They do though, also sell cake/pastel by the slice/rabana.

I've been coming to La Michoacana regularly for a long time and have always enjoyed their ice…read morecream, pan dulce, and other items. I've never had an issue until this visit, which is why I feel the need to share this experience. This was my first time purchasing a cake from here, and unfortunately it was extremely disappointing and concerning. When we cut into the cake at home, we noticed odd gray/green discoloration inside the cake, uneven texture, and areas that looked wet and broken down. It also had this awful smell and the appearance alone was enough to make us stop eating it immediately. This does not look like normal cake coloration or texture, and it raised serious food safety concerns. Cakes, especially those with moisture, fillings, or cream, should be closely monitored, and it seems like this one may have sat on display far too long. This is not just about taste or quality; someone could genuinely get sick from consuming something like this. What's disappointing is that I genuinely like this place and come here often, which makes this experience even more frustrating. I really hope management takes this seriously and re-evaluates how long cakes are kept on display before being discarded. Freshness and safety should never be compromised. I'm sharing this not to bash the business, but because I believe they can and should do better, especially since many families shop here regularly.
