Been ordering cakes from here for a few years, never had any problems but a few things I noticed: less cake than normal, cake was dry and hard ,I noticed they have changed now they sell more stuff than before , the nice lady wasn't there anymore , the one who took my order doesn't speak English, I felt like I was at a different bakery like they don't know what their doing, prices have also changed, does Mr Javier still owns this bakery??? read more

Long over due review but better off late than never. lol I needed a cake in two days, I didn't want any kind of cake. I wanted a beautiful good tasting cake. I called around, no one could fit in making a cake in such short notice BUT Javies Cakes. I was a little nervous because I have never bough a cake from them or heard about their cakes. Ordering was easy and it was ready the day and time I needed. I ended up ordering a 2 tier cake and 12 cupcakes! The price was very reasonable for the nice size cake I got. Everyone loved the cake so much, I was surprised none was left. lol I ordered a 2nd cake, I got the same A1 results, everyone wanted to know who made my cake. Their cakes are moist, sweet but not to sweet and the fruit was perfect. The customer service was nice and welcoming. This will be my go to spot for cakes! I highly recommend... you can go to my IG page to see cake pictures waistbeads_by_trina read more

I've had my fair share of, "pan de los muertos" , but this bakery has the BEST I've ever tried. The bread had the authentic flavor that "pan de Los muertos" should have with the poignant flavor of orange zest. We also tried the "mil ojos cake" I bought a few slices to sample it and we were not disappointed. It was soooooo very well made and the taste was delectably delicious. We also made a purchase of a few more cookies and pastries that were delightfully tasty. Customer service was very friendly, professional, the bakery was clean and overall I had a pleasant experience. I highly recommend this bakery. If you're looking for your "ofrenda bread" or want to snack on the best "pan de los muertos" bread, don't skip stopping by at this friendly locally owned business. You will not be disappointed. read more

Wow!! The cake Javier made for my daughter's birthday party was AMAZING!!! The most beautiful cake I have ever seen!!! I can not rave about it enough. It was exactly what we wanted and so much more! I was a little skeptical because there was a definite language barrier. I don't speak Spanish so I was worried that I wasn't communicating exactly what I wanted. I text him a picture and put my faith in God. Javier blew it out of the water. His price was extremely reasonable and the cake was delicious. I am so happy I trusted my gut and my fellow yelpers. The store front is a little underwhelming and like I mentioned communication a little rough but do NOT let that deter you. His skill level is unsurpassed. Delicious cake with an even more impressive knack for decorating. Javier did not disappoint! read more

Alright folks. This cake is pretty good. I had my birthday cake ordered at Javie's cakes : tres leches with strawberries and purple and yellow frosting. Unfortunately the cake was red and yellow. So one star down because that was a detail that mattered. But the cake and berries were pretty good. Specifically the cream between the cake was really good with the cake. The tres leches was not the typical sponge cake. another star down because the cake was late and that impacted my plans the rest of the day. So if the staff at the bakery can stay on time and set up a system to confirm details, this is a five star in the making. read more

They did an amazing job on this cake. I'm only giving 4 stars because A. I asked when I ordered it if I needed to pay for it and she said no. The day before I was supposed to pick it up they called and said they couldn't start the cake before it was paid for. So I paid for it but I feel like it was rushed because of the payment situation because it definitely could look more like the picture that I sent. But all in all, it's still the best cake that I've ever bought. read more

OMG! BEST DAMN CAKE EVER!!! I needed a birthday cake for my sister and I knew she wanted a very specific kind of cake, chocolate cake with raspberry, chocolate mousse, and buttercream frosting, she had lamented over the years about the fact that nobody uses real buttercream, well guess who uses real homemade buttercream? If you guessed this place then you would be correct! Not only was the cake gorgeous and exactly to the specifications I wanted but it was most importantly delicious! Coming from me that's saying something because I absolutely despise cake, everyone who knows me well knows to not offer me cake because my dislike of it is that legendary, however when they sliced the cake it looked so delicious that I figured I might as well have one tiny bite just for posterity and I was blown away, I probably could have eaten half of that cake by myself, give me a glass of milk and I probably could have put down the whole cake. The other thing that really impressed me was that I ordered it the day before and they had no problem having it ready the following day, I even found out that they don't normally have buttercream frosting and that the baker whipped up a batch just for me and my one little cake, now that is amazing Service as well, I can't say enough good things about this place! I will definitely be coming back as I now have found the one place on the planet that makes cake I actually enjoy! read more

I been so busy forgot to upload my review I ordered a 80's themed cake and when I arrive to pick up my cake they cannot find my order in the book then they started to speak in Spanish looking, confused at that point I knew something was wrong so my boyfriend who speak Spanish said they forgot to make your cake is what there saying! I couldn't believe it. We had ordered ahead of time. I didn't understand how they forgot to make my cake. An my party was getting ready to start they told me that it would be ready in 1 hour and they can deliver it to me for the inconvenience but we picked it up I paid 100 and something dollars for my cake very affordable. they took like $20 off that's it. I feel like the cake should have been free at that point. cake was very beautiful but cake was very dry and tasted horrible. Such a disappointment. so I'm guessing they just use the old cake they had sitting around because they know they didn't have time to bake a fresh cake which I paid for. read more

I am beyond satisfy with how my baby girl's cake turned out! It came out better then I expected!! Everything was handmade and edible. I gave her a picture of how I wanted my cake to look like and she did an even better job. First time ordering from them and I will definitely order from them again. The best part of all is it didn't cost me an arm and leg. It was so worth the price I paid. It did not only look beautiful but it tasted so delicious as well. The cake was moist and not too sweet. Just exactly how I wanted it to be. She was so kind to let me taste the flavor I wanted at the bakery as well. Thank you Javie's bakery!!!!! read more
