85 is one of my go-to bakeries to grab pastries for work. It's great that they carry an assortment of both sweet and savory bakery items, along with coffee and teas, and yummy seasonal items. Lately, my husband and I have been coming here for their cream cheese rolls, which are very similar to the ones from Porto's (but dare I say, better?). They have a taro version of this same roll that is also really good! A few of our other favorites include the guava cheese strudel, choco bun, sugared cream cheese brioche, cheese dog, and the spicy sausage bread. For drinks, we pretty much stick to any of their sea salt series. I'm bummed they don't sell oolong tea anymore, but I've just replaced that with a sea salt black tea which I think is part of their standard menu. Wow. This place knows how to do delicious pastries! Selection is pretty large. That makes it a little hard to choose but also gives me the option to come back and try something new each time. I love me some 85 degree pastries. They're perfect to take to work, to have on a picnic or to pair with your tea or coffee. I have the app and their deals are what lure me in. They have a monthly deal on their drinks and sometimes their cakes, so I take advantage and I, an Asian, appreciate discounts. Upon entering you can grab a tray and start loading it up with sweet and savory pastries, cookies, egg tarts, cake rolls and more. I limit myself to 4 or 5. My to-go pastries are the jalapeno cream cheese, the ham and cheese bun, the cheese tarts and guava rolls. Most of their pastries range from $2-$4 which isn't too bad. They offer bread, cake slices and full-size cakes. Full-size cakes start at $37 and up and they have flavors like red velv, mango, tiramisu and strawburb. Their tiramisu and coffee creme brulee cakes are my faves. Come here early if you want more variety. I've been here many times since they've opened and I've only encountered bare shelves once, which was the late afternoon. If you're feeling thirsty, they have hot and cold drinks to choose from. Milk tea, fruit tea, blended drinks, coffee and more. I usually go for their sea salt jasmine, grapefuit tea and their passionfruit. Sad that the sweetness can't be adjusted on some of them because damn you could barely taste the tea sometimes because it's too sweet. If that's the case, I would take it home and brew up some more green tea to add and it's perfect. I tend to stay away from their milk teas because the ingredients they use aint the greatest. I think they use powder and it's too sweet. I've tried their oolong milk tea and it wasn't the business. I took it home and added earl gray tea to make it more palatable. The shop is pretty spacious, I believe it used to be a furniture store before 85 took over. There are tables to sit and sip, and restrooms if you drank too much. If you're feeling introverted, they have a kiosk at the front where you can order drinks without talking to a human. You can also order ahead online and pick up in store. Parking is decent, they share the lot with Michaels, Hibachi buffet, Boba Luv and ohana. Overall, good quality pastries, cakes and drinks at a decent price. Quick service, too! Came around 9am, lots of pastries were not available yet, the cashier said best time to go is 10am because everything is out and freshly made! I did come away with their Milk Pudding Bread, Almond Chocolate bread, of course the Custard small pies, they come two in a pack! I got their Taro bread last time but it was not available yet at 9am! How exciting for Fairfield to get an 85C bakery! The store is very spacious. There's a gender neutral restroom, some tables inside, two kiosks for ordering drinks, a small refrigerated goods section, the usual pastries, and the display counter. It was very clean. When we arrived on a Wednesday afternoon they still had a decent selection. Each pastry was a little over $2! The mousse cup was about $4.25? This day I got a guava and cheese danish, pumpkin bread, Hokkaido cheese tart, and a cookies and cream mousse. I enjoyed all the pastries! The pumpkin bread was something that I haven't had before. It tasted like pumpkin pie in bread format. There was pumpkin filling inside. The stem is a piece of chocolate! A small word of warning is the 85C logo in the mousse cup is not edible. Initially we thought it was a piece of chocolate. It was not. Everything was good and not overly sweet. While there are other Asian-European bakeries nearby 85C offers much more variety in both food and drink. If you're looking for an affordable prepackaged snack this is a great option! My order was the regular milk tea with boba in a size medium. There was only medium or large so medium was it for me. I also grabbed two bread with Ube filling. Service was excellent. Perfect place for sweets I went to this bakery with my family and we all loved it! They have so many cakes, breads, and sweets, everything looks beautiful and delicious. Came in on a Friday during lunch with coworkers around the opening. Place was busy, but typical for a newly opened place. It was a bit smaller than other locations I've visited, but everything was still clean, organized, and stocked. The sandwiches had unfortunately sold out during our time there, but there was still plenty to get. They offered boxes to put bread in, and I got my dessert in a cute takeaway box. Everything was delicious and keeps pretty well in the fridge for leftovers. Everything is affordably priced, and the cafe drinks are also really good. My family is so so happy we finally have this bakery in town! We have probably gone half a dozen times by now. The staff are really cheery and helpful and it's so cute how they yell out fresh bread when something new comes out to the floor. We've tried all kinds of pastries, but also the sliced bread for sandwiches and that bread is so good. We've also tried the Boba and the salted coffee drink drinks and those are all really good as well. The fruit teas were way too sweet for me. I had to take it home and cut it with water. My favorite pastry is the chocolate chip bread. The savory pastry with the spicy sausage was a little too greasy for me. I like all the pastries that have mango. The bakery is laid out well is so even with a crowd. People move through it pretty good. The lines can be long but it's worth the weight. I do second gas getting a drink though. That can really increase your wait time because they get pretty backed up with drinks. Two times now they've been out of Boba when we tried to order Boba, but they offered substitutions. I wish there was more space to sit and chat, but it's really small. It doesn't really invite you to stay a while, more like a grab and go situation. We have been here many times and it's amazing. Everything is always fresh and everyone is always so kind. Today though we received EXCEPTIONAL service from Kaying Xiong and Ifenna. They checked in the back for my grandson's favorite Hawaiian Chicken "pizza" and they were just coming out of the oven. He was in heaven. Also the chicken pesto sandwich they were nice enough to take the cheese off (his request we were splitting) and I told them no worries but they did it anyways. The best way to describe what happened is I thought maybe it was old but they said today that's not possible because they toss everything at the end of the night. OK but it still tasted off & the manager acted like that was impossible or basically I just didn't like it to which I explained I visit 85 degrees frequently, this specifically was off. Can I just have an exchange? And the thing is this thing is about $2 and they were giving me the hardest time like do they deal with this all day or are they noobs??? I've dealt with food mishaps before. It's perfectly reasonable to come back when you can (like within 24 hours) after noticing something is off from your pick up order. Which this was. I did not sit in to eat it. But they were saying they have a same day policy so normally they wouldn't exchange a $2 product within the 12 hours I came in. IDK they just have stingy vibes like OK let's say someone got something they absolutely did not like, they clearly will not exchange that. That's their policy, fine. But what if you get something that was totally off? Well get ready to debate them about quality control I guess. Other locations seem more on top of it in terms of options, quality, customer service, and popularity. I came in just past noon on Friday to cash in on some reward points download their app and join their rewards program for delicious free treats and discounts). It was not too busy, so I was able to grab some of their delicious breads and coffee and check out without much wait. Some of my favorites here are the fruit tarts, garlic cheese bread, pork sung bun, egg tarts and spicy sausage bread. My favorite coffee drink is their caramel sea salt iced coffee (they make it hot as well). They have really good cakes too if you are looking for delicious cakes for any occasion. They have some tables for you to sit and hang out to eat your purchase. Employees are knowledgeable and very friendly. They have a current promotion for a Christmas mug for $1.50 with a $30 purchase.
