We just ordered a pack of 6 to go (steep at $14 but absolutely worth it). Got home, made our own breakfast sandwiches. Wow. They are so incredibly buttery, soft/fluffy, just delicious and addicting. They don't taste like the English muffins you're used to, because they're not. I think it's a fermented focaccia dough fried in clarified butter. So it's like a focaccia donut English muffin hybrid. And so what? They improved the standard English muffin, what's wrong with that? I was really never a big fan of English muffins anyway. Model Bakery has unfortunately made me an English muffin snob I guess. It totally lived up to the hype. If you're going to eat it there, I'd honestly recommend getting a plain English muffin, or if they do it with jam or butter do that. Or just take them home like we did (or both!).

My favorite though was the sausage breakfast which also had custardy eggs, meaty sausage, cheesiness and their spicy chipotle aioli. So good! Both were warm, ooey, gooey, and indulgent. Ordering was relatively easy and they call you for pickup when your order is ready. It does take some time though. I went on a Saturday morning and it took me 20-30 minutes to receive my order, but it was so worth it. I also like how they have day old pastry bags for $3 which is such a steal! Parking is street parking and there are some free spots nearby. I would highly recommend this spot for a nice breakfast in Napa!

I also ordered an iced coffee, and while the flavor itself was really good, I was a little disappointed to find quite a bit of coffee grounds/sediment at the bottom of my cup. Once I got toward the bottom, it made the coffee taste pretty grainy and unpleasant. I went back and asked if they could remake it, and the staff was kind enough to do so. Unfortunately, the second coffee still had a small amount of grounds at the bottom. It was much less than the first one, so I decided not to go back for a third time. I'm not sure if this was just an issue with the batch or the way the coffee was prepared that day, but it was a little disappointing, especially from a bakery with Bouchon's reputation. Aside from that, the coffee itself tasted good, the macarons were delicious, and I'm glad we stopped in. I would definitely return for the pastries and macarons--I just hope the coffee preparation is a little better next time.

We aren't huge breakfast people and could have split and been fine. But we didn't. And we ate them all. The Americanos were decent. Not amazing, but good. You order at the front and pickup and pay at the back. They have a great system down and it worked flawlessly. They also were busy and she told us it might be 15-20 minutes. It was 23 minutes. So we appreciated the heads up. All in all, a good experience. We will go back tomorrow (and not because of the hotel discount).
